"The gardens are wonderful and huge in nature, like a meadow."
A pair of hands pushed the elegant gates open and Vivi found herself surrounded by nothing but green. Nature stood before her, a huge greeny wonderland and before she opened it, the gate seemed to stand before her with open arms as though it was inviting her in. Vivienne made a soft sound of wonder and she laughed a little, feeling like a small child that was looking up at a really tall building for the first time. So her father was right as always. It really was like a meadow. She found herself moving one foot in front of another, walking first before she broke into a skip; the gates to the gardens swinging shut behind her. Laughing with delight as she did, she twirled around as she skipped into the green. She was thankful that she was alone; she didn't want people giving her the well-disliked odd look that clearly said 'what the hell are you doing?'
Thankful that she had remembered to take her medication this morning, she was able to spot a rose bush that had caught her eye that was on the sidewalk. Skipping over, she leaned forward and allowed herself a sniff of the red flowers, bursting into a fit of little peals of laughter, clearly delighted that her father's stories about the garden proved true. There were all kinds of flowers everywhere- Vivi wondered who had caringly planted them and loved them as though the plants were their own children. Leaving the bushes, she walked on, not wanting to skip at the moment and made her way over to the waterfall the gardens were so famous for. Along the way along with flowers, she passed by all kinds of trees and stopped for a few times to get a good look at them and allowed the picture to embed herself in her mind before going on again.
"In the middle of the gardens, there stands the waterfall- the waterfall of a lost princess."
It wasn't the truth, but Vivi believed it anyway. She wandered forward and as she came closer, she heard the sounds of rushing water falling into a pond of its own. The waterfall. Vivi tilted her head to one side as she stared up at the huge amounts of gushing water. She squatted down at the edge of the pond, hugging her knees to herself and staring at her reflection in the water. Her reflection stared back, mimicking her as she tilted her head to one side and blinked. The mirror image of herself in the liquid seemed to be disturbed by the waves of the above waterfall, threatening to fade away anytime but nevertheless, it continued to mimic her as Vivi poked a finger into it just for the sake of seeing herself move. Odd yes, but there was no one around eh?

He could practically taste the strong scent of all the flowers in the garden. It was almost painful to his sense, but he stuck with his plan. His plan, just some photography, his portfolio had been seriously lacking lately and he had free time today and tonight, so he figured why not? Cade wasn't gong to kidnap him again, which raised a curious question about the fallen angel and his antics now, but the wolf wouldn't say anything. At least not anything to upset Cade, as he was very anti-confrontational. The flowers and scents here, overwhelmed his senses, and he just had to suck it up, sometimes holding his breath a little longer than he needed to to be honest. All the colors that they wielded, the purple, green, blue, red, white and everything else that he could possibly imagine for nature to color the world. The flowers he'd admit were quite amazing, and with the waterfall and sometimes a random person passing by, made for quite a nice shot. Carefully, a pair of skilled and swift hands lifted the expensive Nikon camera up, and snapped some pictures of a hydrangia leaf with some dew drops on it and the flower right on the side of the picture, the dew drops being emphasized in the picture. Lovely. Course he wasn't really one for very nature-esqe type pictures, but he had a lot of the city, so why not somewhere with a bunch of nature? Plus the woods were mostly out of the question, every time he went out there he always got distracted by all the bloody deer.
Growling in his chest at the thought of the pests called deer, the black-haired male cleared his throat, covering up the animalistic growl that had rippled from his 6'2" frame. Last thing he wanted was to actually have to speak to someone. Eyes carefully lifted to check on his car parked nearby in a small parking lot meant only for cars for people who were planning on visiting the park. Which rarely happened, so pretty much it was just him. Bright blue eyes widened slightly when keen ears picked up the sound of movement, and the gates being opened, then closed. Someone else had entered. Of course. Scowling slightly at the thought of his silent paradise being interrupted by someone, eyes caught a flash of a very light blonde hair going through the greenery. Curiosity got the best of the male as he then inched forwards, long legs tentatively taking precarious steps. He wasn't the most graceful person around, but nonetheless, he still didn't want to be noticed. At least not yet. She was pretty, he'd admit that, so therefore he probably shouldn't talk to her. Eyes watched her light blonde hair sway as she moved, before she crouched down and peered at the water with the rushing waterfall in front of her. Tilting his head in mimicked curiosity and wonder much like her own, he tucked his camera away into the bag, before he then turned to head away from her. Dammit, his foot caught a root or something, and he proceeded to trip over something anyone else could have most likely avoided with just a flick of their ankle.
Not him. Owen cursed his luck in his head, as he landed on his side, cradling the bag with his camera in it. Sharply inhaling, he then jumped up and scrambled away, not wanting for her to see his camera. Photography was his thing, and he never liked to really share it with anyone. Groaning slightly, the wolf then leaped up with an Olympian's speed to beat, quite easily too, and darted to his car, where he promptly stashed his camera underneath the back seat of his car. Returning to the garden, ever so casually, he brushed off his dark-washed jeans. Most likely with her beauty, he'd stutter when talking to her. Then she'd probably proceed to assume him "gay" or what-ever they called it, "metrosexual" whatever the hell that was, but it didn't sound good. He sneezed when he caught a random powerful whiff of roses, though he spied them curiously, bright blue eyes peering at them and other flowers from beneath his black mop of hair. Maybe do some math calculations to occupy his mind, as he then sat down on a bench in the garden, then stood up and started to approach where he had seen that blonde girl before, before suddenly, he bumped into her! At least he had come from the side, so if she had been close to the water, he hadn't pushed her in - thank the forces of the universe, "I-I...I'm sorry!" he blurted, backing off, holding up his hands in a surrender movement, "I..I didn't...k-know you were...here s-still."
Wonderful, he told himself, before standing there for a moment, before gesturing over his shoulder, "I-I sh-should go..." he then turned on his heel, not wanting to make a bigger fool out of himself today if at all possible. Adjusting her beret so that it didn't fall into the swirling water, Vivi blinked her gray eyes at herself. Once of her sisters had once said that the eyes are the windows to your soul and as Vivi stared at herself in the hope of actually seeing into her soul, she felt like a complete retard for doing so. Which...normal person would stare into liquid for a long time in the hope of seeing your own soul? Vivi shook her head to herself, her blonde curls swaying from side to side as she did. Her face crumpled into a tiny mask of disappointment. She hadn't found anything. One step farther away from finding out who she really was. She had to be born for something, not believing that life didn't have a purpose for her. While her family was out doing...work, here she was, sitting at the edge of a pond with a waterfall in falling down in front of her. Feeling a little lonely all of a sudden, she hugged her knees to herself even tighter and decided to stare at the grass instead for now.
A loud commotion behind her; the sound of someone falling to the ground made her turn her head around. She was just in time to see someone scramble to his or her feet and speed away as though there were a pack of hellhounds after their butts or something. Vivi proceeded then to laugh a little and murmur "Run, Forrest, run." Whoever that seemed to be fleeing away from her had made her day a little if not lighter and more entertaining. Turning back to the pond, feeling a little more content, she picked up a little stone next to her that was lying in the grass and tossed it into the pond, watching it skip merrily along the surface before it disappeared into the water with a loud plop. She didn't hear someone approaching due to the sounds that the waterfall was making and the next thing she knew, something had bumped into her shoulder. With a squeal, she scrambled to her feet and leaped to one side, her eyes wide with the barest hint of alarm in it. Stunned, she simply stared at him as he stammered and apologize before retreating and walking away. It took a while for the boy's words to register in her mind. The language was English of course, and it took another few seconds for her to make head or tail of it. The word 'still' was in there and any other girl would have picked up on it instantly, but not her. Vivi could only nod mutely in reply as he walked away. Wait, what was she doing? She shook her head to quickly clear away the shock. Here was company and she was letting him scoot away without doing anything. "Wait!" she called out in Ukrainian and realizing that she spoke the wrong language, she called again, this time the correct one. "Wait~!" What was she doing? She ran forward, catching up to the dark haired male instantly and catching him on the arm. "Awww, don't leave. I scared you yes? No, dammit wait, sorry, did I scare you?" Damn English. Too many rules to follow. [/blockquote]

He had managed to start leaving the area that the water fall and the blonde girl was in, till he suddenly stopped when he heard another language. Immediately, his mind began to work on the language, he liked solving puzzles, this would be one for today. The supernatural's mind began to work rapidly like a computer, narrowing it down. European, easily, and definitely not Western European either, definitely Eastern. Eyes narrowed slightly as he sorted through the various countries he knew their languages, before deciding it was either Russian or Ukranian, two languages, like most, he knew a few words to. This one he didn't know what it meant, but it had caught his attention, and therefore he wanted to learn it. Owen figured it had to be "wait" just in that other language, since she seemed to have corrected herself and told him to wait in English. Pausing, he stood with his back to her for a moment, as if preparing himself, before the male turned slightly to face towards her, though reluctantly. He began to rapidly think of a theorem or something to get his mind occupied, instead of just her. If he thought about her a little, a little too much, Owen would sound like an idiot rather than what the multiple areas of tests labeled him and his brother to be since they were about 13 years old. Wrinkling his nose at his past, he then brushed it aside, wanting to instead just focus on this problem at hand. Yes, the theorem seemed to be working, since he didn't feel like he was going to sound like a complete idiot, but nevertheless, one like him wouldn't hope too much.
He grimaced when she then tried to actually talk to him. Curse his luck. Muttering something unintelligible, the black-haired male paused slightly as he looked towards the blonde-haired girl when she approached him and with her accent - which he thought was nice pretty neat - Owen tensed as she did. Him, being afraid of a girl? Yeah, she could have silver on her for all he knew. Inhaling slowly and silently, he didn't smell or sense any silver on her, so he seemed to be okay, but he still didn't trust her, since they were still around here with just them. Hesitating from answering her, Owen then shook his head calmly, as if delaying his response before answering, "N-No...you didn't." he voiced, not wanting to make it sound annoyed at all just - a plain old answer. Grinding his teeth together for a moment, planning what he wanted to say, to try and see if he could not stutter, though he knew it would ultimately fail, the male added, "I...I j-just didn't want to...you know."
Well, she didn't that was the thing. Dammit, he then added, "Didn't want to...b-bother you." There, hadn't been that painful, now had it? Owen grinned uneasily towards her, knowing this could only be a path he would probably prefer to stay away from, but now he was on it, and had to keep on it. Tilting his head slightly, he allowed her to answer and speak, before he then inquired, stuffing both his hands into his front pockets on his jeans, "Was....did y-you speak...Ukrainian....or Ru-Russian?" He grinned weakly, before frowning, picking out the "file" so to speak in his head and he then picked a few words he knew in Ukrainian, finding it useful to at least know a few words from every language he could get his hand on, "My name's Owen. W-what's....your name?" he spoke in her language, grinning shyly, yes, it was an interesting language, and obviously her native one as well. Personally, he gave her kudos since she was daring to learn English. Owen didn't know what he'd do if he had to learn English from another language in order to live in this world and become what he wanted to be. Pausing slightly, he spoke, running a hand past his hair to keep it out of his eyes, "I...I only know...a little bit." [/blockquote][/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -• B E C A U S E Y O U S A Y S O •UNDER YOUR BREATH 50+ WORDS | COMPLETE | OPEN | CLOTHES COMING SOON LYRICS BY PANIC! Vivienne clasped her hands to her back and swung her shoulders from side to side, awaiting an answer from him and tilting her head to one side curiously. He was an odd one, she noted. Just by the way he seemed to stand before her and the way he carried himself; it already gave her an idea of how he really was. If she hadn't taken her meds today, looking and giving her fullest attention to him wouldn't be what she was doing now. She blinked at him, wondering why he looked so cautious, so quiet, perhaps the type that often kept his thoughts to himself and avoided socializing whenever possible. He also looked the kind that could break any moment; one wrong word and he was gone. This was Vivienne's opinion of him for now, and hell, they hadn't even had a real proper conversation together yet. To put it on the nice side, he too looked bad at socializing. Heck, maybe he was odd too. They could be odd together, share their oddness together and do everything odd together. Viv soon found her eyes glazing over; daydreaming again; the boy in front of her becoming a blur and it was only when he spoke did she snap back to reality.
"Non, you did not." she said breezily and shrugged at him, picking her words carefully and damming the language again. He bother her? What could he do? Scare her away with the stammering he was doing? Or maybe even bring out some wacky alien to frighten her off. Hey, who knows? Anything could happen. Viv grumbled to herself. She was letting her imagination run away again. In fact, how could anyone bring a wacky alien in? She would be lying if she said that she didn't like the idea though and she felt as though the dude in front of her could read people. "It's alright, really." she said, sounding as though she was convincing herself more than at him. She shook her head when and tucked her curls away from her face to keep them from flying into her eyes while listening to his next question in his odd way of speaking. It was as though the words were refusing to come out of his words properly. Odd. "Ukrainian, yes." She smiled at him for figuring out what she was speaking just now, even if it was just one word. How intelligent. And cute too in a way. Her gray eyes lit up with delight as he spoke in her language and she soon found herself replying to him in her native tongue. "I'm Vivienne. Nice to meet you." Step one from the 'how to socialize book' and so far, it was working. Her face crumpled a little when he said that he only knew a little Ukrainian, but it soon lit back up to the little smile on her face. "My language is not so bad, although perhaps only around forty-six million people back home speak it- but that not the point- it's not so...hard to learn." She stopped before she could go on blabbing and a little embarrassed, quickly changed the topic. "Why do you um...do t-this w-w-when y-you... t-t-t-talk?" she asked curiously, blinking at him. Viv hadn't been mocking him- she was just curious as to know why. Did he have a nervous or tongue problem or something? Either way, the blonde was curious to know and she wasn't going to stop until she found out exactly what made him do this. notes: ramble ramble. hope i gave you enough to work with. So he didn't sound like a complete fool. That was reassuring to an extent. As his mind began to process information faster than his mouth could try and put it out into the world for others to hear, Owen ground his teeth together slightly, feeling his canines lengthen slightly, mainly just out of his annoyance. Wrinkling his nose, the wolf tilted his head slightly, having caught the scent of something absolutely mouth-watering, steak. Grinning softly at the thought of sinking his teeth into something like that, Owen's hands subconsciously clenched slightly. Don't be having a fit right here, right now with her, Owen told himself. He was so lucky just for her to be talking to him, and what it seemed on her own free will too, and not being put up to it by friends of hers or alcohol. Yes, Owen really felt like the luckiest guy just for this girl wanting to actually talk to him. His luck usually included him just hanging out on the wall at a party, and people like Caden, his good friend going to the center and getting involved. Not Owen, hell no. He really didn't like putting himself out there all that much, especially since most of the time girls would find him and make him their "puppy" as his older brother said they were to girls. Girls would coddle them, but they wouldn't do anything else. Sighing softly at this thought, Owen then suddenly heard the girl respond to him about having startled or scared her. Good, at least he hadn't done that yet. He figured he'd probably start rambling off on some weird theorem or something, then that would probably freak her out. Grinning weakly, Owen mused, "G...good."
The male then leaned back slightly from her, having caught onto her scent. She smelled nice pretty good, and not in a creepy way, just that...she did. Plus his nose was even stronger than a dog's due to adding on a bit more for a human's nose strength too, so it just added onto the painful experience for him sometimes. Shifting awkwardly, when the girl confirmed it was Ukrainian, he smiled and added, "I like....the language."
He did, he liked all languages really. Who knew, maybe she'd be willing to teach him some proper Ukrainian or Russian, and in turn, maybe he could teach her some tricks of English - if she didn't already know them. Suddenly, the blonde spoke in her native tongue once more, and introduced herself to him, Vivienne. A lovely name to go with the lovely girl. No, he quickly began to work on a law in his head, distracting himself, to try and calm his nerves. Keeping his hands stuffed into his front pockets, Owen answered back in her language, an accent suddenly falling into his words, "The...pleasure's all mine...Vivienne." Yes, he did like her name, liked how it rolled off his tongue. Grinning sheepishly, the wolf then heard her start to speak once more, and quite a bit, talking about her language and such. Tilting his head slightly, Owen then nodded, agreeing with her. He didn't think languages were too hard to learn anyway. They were fun to learn. Suddenly, her next question stung him a little more than she'd probably anticipated. Why he stammered? She could have just asked that, though his bright blue eyes narrowed slightly, finding the solution, the actual reason. Wrinkling his nose slightly, the wolf took a step back from the light blonde and remained silent. He didn't really want to tell her the full reason, because he couldn't really believe she was actually talking to him, and her being as pretty as she was wasn't helping at all either. Hesitating, Owen mused solemnly, "I...It's because my mind...goes a lotfasterthanmymouth." if she even understood that, as he attempted to try and keep up with his mind, which just ended up with him failing anyway. He looked away, feeling like he was going to get scolded or something before adding, "I...I just d-don't speak well to..." his voice dropped off, and he was partially glad it had, since he didn't want to say why. Sure, people tended to walk all over him, though he doubted they would if they knew what he could become. Looking around quietly, Owen then mused, "M-maybe...want to go...get s-something to drink...warm up?" he offered, and added, "M-maybe you can t-teach me more....Ukrainian. Vivienne continued looking at him, stopping her swinging and stood in front of him in her short structure. That was the first thing she had noticed about him- he was tall- six feet perhaps? Suddenly feeling a little height self-conscious, she took a few steps back from him and smiled at his replies in her native tongue. It was really nice to hear Ukrainian coming from another's mouth- it truly reminded her of home even if he wasn't a native there. "It is nice to hear my mother tongue being spoken by you." she murmured and then sighed, missing Europe all of a sudden. Moving hadn't really appealed to her and like everyone, she simply went along with it and here she was today. Of course the last thing she expected was to be having a conversation with a random boy she met in the gardens but she had learned that anything can happen in life and she would be doing things that she had never thought of doing before. Like having a proper conversation with someone else that is. She was watching him carefully, and she did notice that his face darkened a little when she asked him why he stammered. Viv blinked, wondering whether she had made a mistake in asking him that and she resisted the impulse to run away all of a sudden and leap into the pond that was only a stone's throw away from where she was currently standing now. She did stiffen a little though; betraying herself and her eyes went downward. Viv felt as though Owen was looming over her, threatening to fall over and crush her. Very morbid. There'll be a lot of blood too. Her imagination was running away again. Dammit. Vivi forced herself to focus on him- even with her meds on, her rushing mind could still get the better of her at times. At his next words, he said them too speedily to the point that she couldn't make out his words properly. "I didn't..." she trailed off, fumbling for the right words. "I didn't catch that, sorry." She grinned sheepishly and listened as he added before dropping off all of a sudden. She raised a blonde eyebrow in puzzlement, but choosing not to pursue it, she didn't say anything. Looks like he didn't want to talk yet, she noted and shrugged inwardly. Oh well. It would have been interesting to know why, but Vivienne had always respected it when people decided to keep their private thoughts to themselves for the time being. There was always time to find out later, if he ever decided to tell her. Not that she really minded anyway- she did find his stammering cute. Wait, what? "I would like that." she said, smiling a little before adding teasingly. T-this is n-not how- the way you s-speak U-Ukrainian though." Laughing a little, she took his hand and began pulling him towards the exit. "I'm up for coffee." [/blockquote]

Noting her slight movement backwards, away from him, Owen quickly checked - he didn't smell. Was he giving her a weird vibe? Most likely. Feeling like a rain cloud just formed over his head, the wolf then frowned slightly at himself, though quickly wiped that look off his face when she began to speak. So she liked it when he spoke her language, even if his knowledge was limited? Feeling slightly better when she mentioned that, the wolf then smiled weakly, almost shyly one could say and he shifted his gaze away from Vivienne for the moment he responded, "T-thanks..." He did find it as a compliment though. If a native could say she didn't mind it at least, he couldn't be too bad at it, now could he? The black-haired male shifted slightly, suddenly realizing when the blonde took that slight shift back, just how short she was compared to him. He was 6'2", easily over average for any guy, and how tall was she, like 5'7" or so? He'd never been good with heights, hell he didn't even know how tall he was when he was a wolf, though the last time he had shifted, he figured he was probably around 4 to 4.5 feet at the shoulder, not including his head. Yeah, that would be interesting, he'd need to ask Cade or Ellie if they'd be willing to do that. Snickering softly at that thought, of one of them holding up a measuring tape to the black form he turned into when-ever he felt like it, or like a monster on a full moon, Owen shook that feeling away.
He didn't want to dampen the mood with Vivienne, anymore than he'd probably do on his own, just because he failed like that sometimes. Swaying slightly, finding himself having followed her movements ever so slightly, Owen suddenly found himself feeling the urge, to hug Vivienne. What the hell was this? He shook his head slightly at this feeling, shaking it away like it was some water droplets on his fur. That was unexpected. Course the moment she claimed she hadn't caught his speedy words, the genius hesitated and answered slowly, picking his words carefully, as if he were picking the specific things he wanted to put into a deadly chemical tube, "It's...my m-mind...goes faster t-than my mouth...a lot."
He spoke shyly, feeling like kicking a nearby, small pebble into the water. Giving into that urge, the male then nudged the pebble towards the water silently, feeling like he was in elementary school again, and had to give away a Valentine card to the girl he liked. Usually it ended up with her being flattered, and then she'd go to her mother and tell her all about him, thinking he was cute too most likely, till she may have heard him ramble on about science or something. Sighing at this thought as he watched the pebble sink to the bottom, Owen looked back towards the girl softly and added after a few moments, "I-it's just...that. I've given up...with my mouth...keeping up." he grinned sheepishly, almost innocently as if he didn't have anything to do with it. Vivienne spoke again, mimicking how he spoke English. The irrational part told him that she was just playing with him, that this was just a ploy, and she was secretly mocking him when she did that. A scowl painted itself over his features when her back was turned, but it disappeared the moment she said she was up for coffee, and grabbed his hand, dragging him towards the exit. He'd almost stopped, not letting her drag him with her, but this was her, and he had a feeling he'd follow her to the ends of the world. Correction, he would, and willingly too. Just as long as he didn't need to be around her on the full moon, Owen wouldn't worry about it. Pausing, he mused, "S-sometimes...I speak other l-languages...better." Sometimes, and not necessarily better just with less pauses, since it required his mind to think on the language a bit more than with the person he was with. In this case, if he did allow himself to talk more, he'd probably sound like a crazy person to Vivienne, and he didn't want that. He wanted to be with her, not in a weird way, but to be able to get to know her at least. He was lucky enough she was touching him willingly with her hands, dragging him for coffee. This never happened before, or if it did, was for him to get the girl a drink at a bar or something. No, not this time. Course what Vivienne didn't know was that if Owen wanted to stop her from leading him to the exit, he could have stopped, but he didn't. He wanted to get coffee, he'd try anything if Vivienne suggested it, that he realized, though quickly pushed aside and denied to even think of that again. Gesturing to the nearby coffee shop, Owen easily opened the door, gesturing for Vivienne to go through the door and he shortly followed behind her, and inquired as they got into line behind another couple, holding hands, "How...long you live here?" Owen laughed weakly and changed back to English from her language, "I...I don't know...h-how to say...have you lived..." he shrugged shyly, blue eyes darting curiously around the place. Thankfully it didn't seem to be too crowded, which was nice, which meant he and Vivienne could easily grab a table. Easily checking for his wallet, Owen added, "I...I'll buy." he spoke calmly, eyes locking onto Vivienne's gray ones, eye he found quite beautiful intriguing. Yes, that was a good word, not one he'd use to her face, since he would compliment her openly...especially not in public, he'd been shot down too many times before. No thank you. Wrinkling his nose slightly as the rush of the beans and such for coffee hit his nose, Owen looked to the blonde with him quietly, still wondering if this was actually happening or not, and how lucky he felt, "D-do you like it...here so far? His mind moves a lot faster than his mouth? Vivi repeated in her head as she listened to his replies and when she took his hand. His next few words rolled around in her head as they walked towards the exit. "Mmm, it's like me a little maybe. Except the...language yes? The language part." In a way her mind did move faster than her mouth, but she was prone to saying random, sometimes odd things that popped into it instead of stammering and waiting like he did. She looked back over her shoulder and grinned sheepishly. To her, if given the choice, she wouldn't have bothered trying to pick up English in the first place since hardly anyone back at Ukraine spoke it most of the time. But after moving here, she knew that her native language was going to get her nowhere and like everyone else, she was now picking up English. Not exactly the easiest thing to do, but Vivi knew that eventually she was going to have to learn anyway. Meeting Owen had increased her desire to do so. Which was a goodthing that she met him, because she really needed to learn the language and also because her family was driving her nuts for not socializing. With Owen's hand warm in hers, she fell back in step to walk alongside him and she felt as though an awkward silence had fallen between them as she opened the gates that would lead them out of the garden and out onto the road. She gently leaned against him as they crossed the road, her blonde head touching his shoulder briefly and moved it back up when he gestured to the nearest coffee shop. She entered and was instantly met with the smell of coffee in the air. As the two of them got in line, she heard him inquire in broken Ukrainian before switching back to English again and turning her head to look up at him, she allowed a small bubble of giggle to pop out of her. Hey, at least he tried. "Not long." she chirped. "Forty-five days. And no worry, you'll pick it up soon enough." Of course he will; he could speak a little of it already, even if he'll probably stammer through it. When he said that he'll buy, Vivienne almost raised her voice in protest, even though she felt as though she wasn't supposed to do so. She felt as though she should be doing the buying, not the male, but there was an unwritten law according to her siblings that when it comes to dating, it's usually the male that does the spending. Now, this was no date; this was just two people getting acquainted with each other. Or was it? Blinking and giving herself a tiny shake of her head, she decided to not say anything in fear of spoiling the mood. And besides, it was really nice of him to say that he was buying. Her cheeks pink with embarrassment at thinking so, her eyes averted from his when they locked on to hers. "It is alright, actually." she cheerily replied to his question as they approached the counter. "The people here...they're alright although sometimes I have...twouble, no, trouble talking with them yesh. One latte." The last word was aimed towards the woman behind the counter, who seemed to be glancing between them with a knowing smile and the smile was still there as she handed the foreign girl her drink. It took a while for Vivi to decipher the meaning behind the look and when she finally did, her eyes widened. Flushing, Vivi shook her head quickly in denial and scampered away to an empty table, nearly spilling her drink in the process. After a while and after Owen had settled down opposite her, the blonde kept her eyes pointedly fixed on her latte, suddenly tongue-tied. note: bleh. [/blockquote]

Owen understood what Vivienne was saying, and he personally really enjoyed listening to her accent with English tied in with it. It just helped remind him there were bigger things than just the States out there - even if people here didn't act like it. They just preferred to act like they were the big, bad man with the biggest stick. Owen knew he wouldn't mess with like Switzerland, their economy was better than America's now, and they were probably laughing at the Americans. Scowling slightly when Vivienne's back was turned at this thought, he quickly shoved it away, not wanting anything to ruin or dampen the mood with Vivienne. God her laugh was cute. Now that they were in more of a closed space he figured, he could hear everything Vivienne did. Except for the fact too, he could now pretty much hear everyone else in the shop with them. How wonderful. Shaking that away, he focused his attention solely on Vivienne, hearing her giggle, and Owen grinned in a silent response to her laugh, as she then answered him. So, a little around 6 weeks or so, which meant like two months - soon anyway. That was surprising she seemed to be picking up on English this fast, he knew someone who had come from Thailand and tried to pick up English just by listening to people, took them months to be able to just have a slight conversation with someone, and a good year or two before they felt comfortable enough to try and get an interview - in English. Bloody English, Owen thought to himself, it seemed to be the only language he'd stutter in. Or he was just kidding himself, he just did it because his mind moved a thousand times faster than his lips could speak what he wanted to.
"I'm i-impressed at how well...you seemed to have caught onto English." he spoke, thinking of what he was wanting to say and taking his time saying it. There, that seemed better than before. Grinning, Owen worked at it, not wanting to feel like a stammering moron all the time - especially around Vivienne. However he got this lucky, he didn't know, nor did he care. She was here now and to him that's all that mattered, as long as she was happy. Running a hand lightly along his mass of black hair, he then listened to Vivienne answer and then order to the woman behind the counter. Blue eyes noted the woman's look that he caught a glimpse of, and nervously tensed, as they made Vivienne's coffee, he spoke, "I'm glad you...h-haven't had a..horrible experience."
There, it seemed to be getting better even now; he just needed to think about what he wanted to say and then work on it from there. Fortunately it didn't take him that long, only the same amount of time - give or take - for someone to answer normally. He then mused, "Umm...C-clover Brewed...please." The barista nodded and then began to make the coffee for him, as Vivienne grabbed her drink and pranced - he could probably use that word - off to get a table. Getting his coffee in a to-go cup thankfully, Owen paid for their drinks and flashed a polite smile towards the woman who winked his way and muttered something along the lines of, "they're cute." towards another person behind the counter. Tucking his wallet away smoothly, the wolf then approached Vivienne, smelling her latte from about ten feet away before he sat down across from her. Legs instinctively stretched themselves out, accidentally brushing Vivienne's on the other side, curiously watching her just content on staring down at her latte. Worried if he'd done something wrong - which deep down he knew he probably hadn't - Owen still asked, reaching over and placing a light hand on her arm, "D-did I do....something. A-are you....okay?" Ugh, it got worse with his emotions spiking. He was concerned though, curious to know if there was something that had made Vivienne remember something unpleasant, or something he had done. You're such a worrywart, he told himself, mentally calming himself down with a gentle sigh, checking his coffee. Great, now he'd have to go for a run again tonight, coffee usually gave him his buzz around 10 at night, eh, at least he could go for a run without losing his mind, that wasn't till....crap, he just realized, it was this coming Tuesday. Mentally groaning, Owen eyed Vivienne then inquired, "W-what...was school like...there?" He inquired, wanting to see if he could divert her attention onto something that may be better. Hey, maybe school was different, he wasn't sure, Owen had - unfortunately never really been outside of the States. While waiting for her...new friend to collect his drink, Vivienne had her gray eyes pointedly fixed on hers the whole time. She didn't feel like drinking; her mind was a whirl and it was as though she had nothing else better to do and as though her latte contained all the answers that she sought, she was better off boring her eyes into it. Was that look just now from the woman the weird, knowing kind that was obviously about...no, she couldn't say the word let alone think it. Wait, what was the word? Vivi groaned inwardly. What was wrong with her? Her mind began cluttering over, thoughts bouncing over each other as she thought deeply. About what was she doing here in the first place when she could have been at home instead of at the gardens and now in a coffee shop. No, she wasn't regretting meeting Owen at all. In fact, it had probably made her day. She had time to think later; right now she had to focus on the present.
Giving herself a little shake of her head, the blonde almost fell out of her seat when something brushed her legs, jumping violently and rattling the chair. Eyes wide, she quickly looked underneath the table and let out a little sigh of relief when she saw that it was just Owen's legs. Popping her back up, she grinned at him sheepishly and laughed lightly, the kind of laugh one might hear coming from someone who made a mistake. "Sorry." When he asked her whether he did something wrong or not, she quickly shook her head in denial and nodded at his next inquiry. Asking herself whether she really was alright, one could say that Vivienne was shy in a way. Reason? That she didn't know at the moment. It was probably because she was trying to make a good first impression of herself (not that she hadn't done that already or did she?) or the fact that she was now dating hanging out with someone of the opposite gender. Yes, that was it.
Vivienne bit her bottom lip when he asked what was school like back at home and her eyebrows pulled together into a frown as she thought of an answer. To be honest, the education and all that wasn't that bad, but her social life was crap. Labeled as a 'nerd' due to her odd personality and her intelligence, Vivi was often bullied. How she was bullied, well, not wanting to go back there, it involved a lot of blood, but there was no violence, other than tossing their drinks at her at times, thank goodness. One could say that Owen had struck a raw nerve in her for asking that, but she knew that it wasn't his fault. He had the right to know what she was like; what happened to her back then but she wasn't going to splurge everything out to him yet.
Suppressing a shudder, although the movement was clear, and wishing that Aneta or Pilar was here right now to answer this (although unknown to her, most of her siblings were out hunting at the moment), she gave him a rather weak smile. "In a way, the education is like your...system. But personally, I think the system here is better." Sure it was. To add on to her delight, there weren't many people who were constantly on the search for people to prey on and if she did see them, she always took measures to stay out of their way; even going to extreme ones like hiding in the boys toilet. Not that she was planning on telling Owen that however; it just sounded too embarassing.

Sensitive hands felt the spark of the warmth of the heat from the drink in his hand as Owen sat down across from Vivi, setting his cup down so that it eventually just wouldn't burn the skin of his palm. Wrinkling his nose slightly at that thought, Owen's eyes quietly followed the blonde in front of him. Yes, she was absolutely gorgeous, amazing, but he still wanted to get to know her. After all even if he did find accents adorable on anyone but himself, he still would like to know more about this Ukrainian girl across from him. At her jump from when his legs had accidentally touched hers, he chuckled softly, and grinned shyly before answering, "D-don't worry about...it." There, as he thought about problems in his head, it seemed to be helping in calming down his nerves and such and therefore helping him with his stuttering. Wonderful. As he finished one formula he'd move onto the theory to work on it, though he still kept his full attention on Vivienne, knowing any time she opened her mouth there would be something important for her to say. Tilting his head slightly as blue eyes locked onto her gray ones, he did admit that he liked to look at her eyes. They held a dash of mystery to him. Which meant puzzles. Which were one of this favorite things to do. How absolutely delightful. Practically grinning like a fool at this thought, knowing he could probably use that in a sense to control the mass of butterflies in his stomach that were threatening to overflow and make him even more uncomfortable.
Maybe if he moved. Yes. Glancing outside swiftly, Owen noticed how the sun was beginning to set. Hm, maybe a walk or something with her. Nodding ever so slightly to his idea, the wolf turned his attention to Vivienne quietly when she then spoke about the education between here and her home country. Pausing, he inquired, curious, "What year...are you...here i-in school?"
Aha! It was helping! Making a mental note to remind himself of this, the wolf then sipped on his drink and though he felt it burn his tongue slightly, the burn healed over within a matter of seconds. Vampires couldn't get hurt by anything but stakes. Werewolves by nothing but silver, if they just say got clipped by scissors, the blood didn't even escape their body, it just healed right up. A little perk to at least know that he wouldn't need to worry about ever getting sick. Then he wouldn't need to worry about getting Vivienne sick. Wait, how could he? Oh, of course. Just by being in her vicinity. Of course, that was what he had been thinking about how he could get her sick. Shaking those thoughts away, he toyed with his cup smoothly, with skilled hands before he mused, "I'm g-glad to see that..." he frowned, picking the right words, "That you are...enjoying the States." he beamed. Maybe he could show her around sometime. "M-maybe...I can...show you..a-around?" he nodded solemnly. Yes, definitely. Owen certainly wouldn't mind it, and he just hoped that Vivienne didn't either. Though as the time slowly passed, he did find himself not counting down the minutes till he could go ahead and get up and leave, saying good-bye to the beautiful blonde. No, he found himself wanting to add on more time to spend with her. Hesitating, he asked as he threw away his empty cup, finishing it off rather quickly, "Would..." he sighed, figuring out what he wanted to say before asking, the butterflies feeling like mountain lions - which he'd rather much face-off against now instead of someone of the opposite gender, well - Vivi he certainly didn't mind talking to, he did like her - dammit. He just thought of that. Internally groaning, Owen then blurted, managing to say it without stuttering, "Would you want to go for..a walk with me? I can take you near our f-forest...and such. Nice...fun s-spots." he sighed calmly after saying that, shaking his head slightly at himself, before smiling weakly towards Vivienne, feeling like he was asking his 7th grade crush to go out with him. But no this time, he felt something different, and he was certainly older than he had been in 7th grade. Plus, this whole thing was different, he really wanted to be around Vivienne a lot more than he had ever though he'd want to be around someone of the opposite sex. The sun was setting, Vivienne noted, looking out the window and staring at the orange sky. A knot of worry formed inside her stomach. Her family was expecting her home any minute. And if she didn't follow her curfew- in other words, be late, they would freak and forbid her out for a long time. Vivi grimaced inwardly and her conscience nagged her to go home right now. However, another part of her wanted to stay. She didn't want to part with Owen yet- he seemed to be the only one around willing to talk to her. Her eyes moving from the world outside to her phone, her fingers flew over the keypad, texting one of her siblings that she was going to be home late. She knew that Pilar wouldn't give two hoots about where she was as long as she came home. Out of all her siblings, he was the most laid-back and lazy one. Yet Vivi couldn't help but wonder why the business company that he was working in didn't fire him since Pilar hardly did any of his work.
Of course he did. He just did it at night in the woods.
Her eyes averting from her phone to Owen, she smiled at him, not betraying the worry in her mind. Even if she had told her brother, would her parents accept it? Or come out looking for her at this very minute? "First year in sch- college." she replied sheepishly at him, aware of how much older he was. She was sure that Owen was at least three of five years older than her and definitely had more experience in the world than she did. Her eyes averting shyly from his, they moved to her phone, checking whether her brother had replied before moving back to Owen's again. They were a nice blue, she thought.
"Sure." Vivi nodded enthusiastically, her blonde curls bouncing up and down. "I errr...got lost already...a few times." The last words made a soft pink color appear on her porcelain cheeks. It sucked getting lost, and it didn't help that people had trouble understanding her when she asked for directions. She even went so far as to convert her words from Ukrainian into English with a translator installed in her phone. Her English had been terrible at then, but Vivi still felt as though it needed more work. Her eyes widened with surprised when Owen invited her for a walk in the woods. She bit her lip nervously and it took her a while for her to find her voice and answer him. Her family had warned her against going in there because according to them, there was danger lurking in the shadows. Vivienne shifted a foot underneath the table and a look of stress appeared on her features for a little while before it vanished again. Feeling sure that Owen would be there to protect her from anything stupid, she made up her mind. "Okay." she said, getting up and trying not to let her voice quiver. Her family could wait. "Let's go." note: She's gonna get the fright of her life <3[/blockquote]

Shifting slightly in the chair he was currently sitting in across from the most beautiful blonde he'd ever laid eyes on, Owen's attention rarely moved from Vivienne either. His thoughts drifted of course, but that just came with the territory due to his brain always wanting to do something. Settling on thinking about what he was going to do with his physics project, the wolf listened to what-ever Vivi had to say whether it was just a whisper which he'd be able to hear anyway or something that might be extremely important to her, which in turn would be extremely important to Owen as well. Blue eyes brightened slightly as the blonde across from him spoke and went to say about where she was in school. Correction, she was in her first year of college. That placed her probably around 19 or 20, depending on when her birthday was since he knew the cut-off dates sometimes messed up people too with their school years, as he had been closer to a normal-aged school student, he never really worried. Owen nodded silently and added, sipping on his drink, "Okay...I'm in my t-hird year of college...so I'm not too much older than you.." There, he was beginning to reason with himself somewhat. The werewolf's eyes watched her quietly, as worry sunk into his being. He did really like Vivi, so far, but something in his gut was telling him he was going to like her anyway, though with any friend and such the tricky part was their parents and family, even siblings if they had any. She'd mentioned she had siblings, that would either be just fine with Owen or they'd absolutely hate him. He'd be sure to wait to tell them just what he was, if at all, since he didn't mind if Vivi knew, just as long as she wouldn't tell.
He doubted - highly doubted - she would though. Vivi didn't seem like the type of person to try and bring someone down. He grinned, feeling like a fool when she agreed to having him show her around the city. That was good, he could spend more time with her, get to know her more and she could do the same with him, and also get to know the city better. A win-win situation he thought, beaming at himself. Tilting his head slightly, Owen then mused, "Good...j-just...let me know when you w-want to do that."
Thank God he wasn't sounding like a complete fool anymore, just a partial one. Thanking what-ever, maybe his mind, the lanky young man stretched his legs out slightly underneath the table, the one closest to the aisle sneaking out into it for a few moments as he allowed his muscles to stretch and realign themselves neatly. Once he did that he relaxed them once more beneath the table and sighed softly, before looking to the blonde as she agreed to also to along the edge of the forest with him. Grinning, feeling his canines elongate ever so slightly, he quickly faded his smile slightly, not wanting Vivi to see those quite yet, "Wonderful. You...r-ready soon?" He was eager to show her around one of his favorite places, and he had barely realized the sun was going down beyond the horizon, bringing out the nighttime sounds, scents and animals. At least it wasn't a full moon. That much Owen was really grateful for. He then stood up calmly and offered Vivi a hand politely to help her up. Once the two of them had stood up from their table and heading out, Owen happily opened the door and held it open for Vivi to go through first before he then shortly followed her, tossing his cup away, having finished it. It was just what he had needed to. Stuffing one hand that was opposite of Vivi into his back pocket, Owen looked to the gorgeous blonde beside him, "Is...t-there any place in parti-cular you want to know...where it is?" His eyes glanced around swiftly, quickly placing themselves where they were and a map appeared in his head. He allowed her to speak her mind as he realized he had somehow managed to split particular down the middle with his inquiry. How wonderful he griped at himself. Owen then turned his attention away from Vivi for a moment when a curious scent caught his nose. Arching an eyebrow, light eyes turned as he then realized what it was. A vampire. Wrinkling his nose, the werewolf pressed on with Vivi, continuing to take her towards a path that got them near the woods. Not directly in them, but out of the way of people so Owen did feel a bit better. "I'll let you know when." Following Owen with a half-dimwitted look on her face, Vivi felt extremely lost as he leaded her around the town, soon emerging onto a path which would lead them into the forest. Her mind began tumbling up and down, thoughts piling on top of one another and her tongue was dying to blab the random words that would tumble out if she opened her mouth. She was trying her best not to become bubbly around Owen, and she picked her words carefully when she spoke with him; that she noted. It was as though one wrong word and he'll be gone. Making a mental note to remember to take her medication, Viv felt pleased with her progress. At least she wasn't being a klutz and crashing into a wall in front of him. Now that was something that she wouldn't be able to forgive herself for. Trees soon appeared in front of her, seeming to protect whatever creature or horror that resided in it. The blonde stiffened a little, warnings from both her parents and her siblings coming back. What could those trees be hiding, Viv wondered. What possibly could happen in there? She tried to put an optimistic thought to it, but the fear seemed to be permanently etched already in her. Groaning inwardly at this rather irrational fear, she balled up her hands into fists and stood uncertainly by the path that would take them into the woods. "Whaa? I dunno." she said, distracted by the green before turning back to Owen again, a little glimmer of guilt in her eyes. "I'm not so...sure bout this here place though. So you um..." Her face scrunched up a little, trying to figure out the words. "You lead the way?" Of course he should. The last thing she wanted was to lead the both of them into nowhere and end up having the two of them lost. While waiting for Owen to lead the two of them into the forest, Viv clasped her hands behind her back and swung her shoulders back and forth, her face clearly distracted by the tall trees. Her mind began to wander, and soon she was imagining what her family's reaction would be. Her parents would freak of course, and then look uncertainly at each other. Viv didn't know why, but she suspected that the two of them would be very uncertain of her having a boyfriend friend. Aneta would fuss over her. Pilar, well, he probably wouldn't care, give her that trademark lazy smile of his and go "Whatevah." Estelle and Dimitri might just throw a party because their sister had finally found someone. And so on. Viv allowed Owen to lead her into the trees and she made sure that she kept a sharp eye on him so that she didn't lose him and she jumped at small noises. Nevertheless, she kept a bubbly pace up with him, always behind his back and looked around like a doe looking out for danger, as though any minute something was going to come out of the bushes. "This place here gives me goosebumps. My parents...they dun allow me here." she said sheepishly to him, speaking her mind. The true reason why they never allowed her was because they were normally used as hunting grounds for the Petruses, but of course Vivienne had no idea. note: next post then. <3 and sure. I'll try Pilar out here. I PPed a little; wanted to get the rp going. Cx[/blockquote]

Silently moving along the path with Vivi at his side, Owen's eyes fell to the beautiful blonde at his side as they pressed along, making sure to keep his long legs around the same pace as hers, which meant smaller or slower steps for him. Then stuffing both hands into his back pockets for a moment, the black-haired male frowned slightly and he inhaled calmly, sizing up the smells he sensed. Someone, no, something was out and about tonight. Maybe they shouldn't go into the woods, but the smell wasn't that close he knew, course the wind kept pushing it around so he was unsure. Pausing for a moment, the wolf caught Vivi's arm for a moment, "Hold on a second..." eyes scanned their surroundings as he felt his senses turn on for the nighttime, paying attention to every little movement, sound and smell. Scowling slightly, trying to figure out what it was, Owen sighed when he noticed the wind hadn't blown their scents towards the animal. Good, he doubted it would come this way though, as there would be a rock face he and Vivi would soon be approaching. Drawing her close lightly, Owen then glanced back to Vivi when she mentioned her parents not allowing her here. Pausing, the wolf turned back to her silently, blue eyes wide in slight worry, "Do...do you not...w-want to be here? We...can leave."
he offered, showing her he really didn't care. Owen gestured to a hill that was a pure rock face they had approached, and Owen shook his head slightly, the smell was stronger. Shit, he swore silently to himself, eyes widening when he realized where it had been coming from. Swiveling around, Owen quickly wrapped an arm around Vivi's frame and drew her behind him against the rock face, placing himself between her and the clearing and the woods around them. Frowning, Owen spoke, turning to Vivi quietly, not wanting to scare her, "Um...c-could...you get down or...up?" he looked silently above her head to a ledge that wouldn't be a problem for him to jump up to, but Owen wanted Vivi out of the way at least as their smells had been blown towards the beast, now it sensed them. Muttering something unintelligible, the wolf narrowed his eyes. There wasn't just this animal out here, but something - some one else. He could smell them. Inhaling slowly, Owen's eyes widened when his eyes landed on a black mass to his right, making that Vivi's left. Nudging her against the rock face slightly, Owen scowled towards the mass, and ground his teeth together. He paused, before then the massive cat yowled, yellow eyes flashing. God he hated those things. Bears he could deal with, they eventually gave up, mountain lions rarely did, they were like flies, but nonetheless, Owen could handle them. Shivering, but not from fear or cold, he could feel his canines begin to elongate. Noticing he'd managed to place himself between Vivi and the ferocious mountain lion as she seemed to be nuzzled into a crevice in the rock face, as the cat hissed towards him. He sighed, it caught his scent. How wonderful. Owen stepped away from Vivi then, making sure to keep the animal's attention on him. A calculating look fell on his features as he planned this attack out. He honestly wasn't sure what he was going to do, but he was quickly thinking of something. This cat, like the ones before he knew wouldn't leave without fighting something first. Scanning over it, he checked its mouth. Didn't seem rabid, that would be nice not to have that headache tomorrow morning while his body fought it off - and always won fortunately too. Fingers tensed and coiled like claws as he then looked to Vivi and spoke, "I'm....sorry, Vivi." then, he shot off into the dark. His body moved smoothly as the werewolf quickly then stripped down as he disappeared into the bushes slightly, the moment he slid out of his shirt and pants and the rest of his clothing, instead of there being a black-haired, lanky-limbed young man, was a massive, pretty much bear-sized wolf. Re-appearing within moments, the massive animal lowered his head, bright yellow eyes with a hint of blue-green in them, a sliver of that color in each eye, the wolf took a few steps towards Vivienne. The wolf growled softly towards her, it had only taken him a blink of an eye to disappear as a human and reappear as a wolf, but he hadn't wanted her to see him change, become this animal, just as the mountain lion lunged. Wide-eyed, Owen let it hit him, wanting to make sure it didn't target the precious blonde against the rock face. Snarls ripped from the maw of the black wolf as it rolled, pinning the cat beneath it, before he managed to shake it off, feeling its claws leave marks on him. Huffing, he glanced to notice that the cat had managed to rip some good chunks of his hair out and into the air, causing him to bleed slightly. No matter, it would heal in a moment. He lunged, opening his maw, wanting to kill this animal. It had threatened Vivi's life - he'd make it pay. Narrowing his eyes, Owen then growled, teeth flashing in the light that rippled through the branches as the massive black wolf collided with the mountain lion. Yes, he was going to kill it or send it away. The werewolf snarled then, managing to latch his jaws onto the cat's front right leg, and as he tightened his grip, began to hear its bone crack, causing the animal to yowl. Shaking that off, the massive black dog snorted and pawed at the animal, before the mountain lion seemed to spot Vivienne. Oh no way. Owen snarled and as the cat took a few pounces towards the blonde, he intercepted it. No way would it ever touch Vivi. Latching onto it with his jaws, Owen shook his powerful head and muscles, rippling beneath his jet-black pelt like his hair, as he then snapped his jaws around the cat's neck, growling deep in his throat, eyes flashing red. It had threatened Vivi, he wanted to kill it, but his human side was telling him not to. As he released it, the cat hissed and darted off into the darkness, leaving nothing in the clearing but the rock face with Vivienne if she was still there, and Owen as his wolf form. Silently, feeling his pelt begin to return to normal, his fur growing back as he turned, eyes softened and melted to the very same blue his eyes were. He hadn't wanted her to see this. Not like this. He had wanted to show her. A whine then escaped the wolf's lips, as he lowered his head, tail low, attempting to communicate with Vivi, he needed to change back. Tail high, he perked as he headed to his clothes, shifting and sliding on his pants first. Grunting as he landed on his butt, Owen looked around silently, though stayed on the ground, sliding on his shirt lazily, but leaving his jacket off, casually pulling on his shoes. He didn't want to see Vivienne, not after that. He hadn't wanted her to see that, not this early. Not now. What now?
