i feel so used because of youhow could you do this to me? You would think that as much time he spent with Vaeda, that he wouldn't still be as nervous as he was too take her on a date. Yet, this wasn't one of those simple and sweet dates they always went on. No. This was an extravagant ball in the Onyx-Studded Castle. The werewolf had never even stepped a foot near there, so it was a new experience. He felt like such a girl as he frantically ran from his closet back to his mirror to check out what he was wearing. Nothing seemed to be going right for him. Vaeda had already planned out what she was wearing and he had to work out his best way to match what she had on. He hadn't seen the dress yet, but only knew of the colors. Derek could only imagine what she looked like in the dress and that made him smile to himself. She was such a goddess. Gah, he needed to focus. Derek held up black tie up to his neck and then a white tie still completely unsure on what to where. He flopped climbed onto his callosol bed to check the time on his phone. Derek had a little over twenty minutes to finished getting dressed and pick up Vaeda. His mind was just a rush.
Derek wanted everything to be completely perfect. He was always a bit obsessive with that. He just wanted the best for Vaeda that night and he'd cause chaos if anyone or anything ruined their night. This was their time to shine in their own spotlights and just enjoy each others company. Derek set his phone back down and ran back up to his mirror to decide on which tie. Damn it. It shouldn't be this hard. Derek lived on dressing up in tuxes and such. He always went to formals and get togethers as a kid so this should be second nature, but he wanted so badly to impress Vaeda he couldn't think straight. Derek switched between the ties and lastly just decided with the white tie. He did have a black button down dress shirt, so the black would just blend completely wrong. Ugh, he sounded completely like a fashion designer or something.
Derek quickly put his tie on and tucked his shirt into his pants. He checked his reflection again and grabbed the white satin vest off of his bed spreed. Derek buttoned that up and went to check his phone again and sighed, knowing he was stressing himself out for no reason. His green eyes looked across his neat room, shoving his hands into the pockets of his pants. Okay, he just needed to quickly sort his thoughts out and take things one step at a time. He was barefoot for one, so where was his socks? Derek scrambled over and put some black socks and shoved his black oxfords. He stared around his room for a few more seconds and pulled on his black tux jacket. Derek looked at his reflection as he buttoned it up and flattened certain parts down until it look presentable. He touched up his hair and sprayed on some cologne and grabbed his keys and started out the door but he cursed to himself as he realized he was forgetting something. GAH. What the hell, man? Derek paused and looked around his large and spacious apartment until he spotted exactly what he knew he was missing.
Damn it. If he would have forgot those he would have been pissed off. He strided over to his dining room table and grabbed the bouquet of flowers he had gotten Vaeda. Yeah, he was the complete romantic type. Derek tucked them under his arm, making sure not to crush the daisies. Daisies were her favorite flower. She had only told him a few times, but he had a great memory so hopefully she noticed. Derek grabbed his wallet that he also had almost forgotten and was finally out the door of his apartment. He closed and locked the door behind him and began to go towards the parking garage. It was located next door, but it was attached to the building. Derek would rather have his car safely parked in there then on some street. He was nearing his car, his baby, a fully black Camaro. Derek ran his fingers over the hood of the car and murmuring to himself as he unlocked the doors and set the flowers in the passenger seat.
He was driving on the road in a matter of seconds as he zoomed out of the garage and towards his beloved girlfriend's apartment. It wasn't that far of a drive, so he'd get to see her as soon as possible. That made Derek's heart flutter happily. He zoomed past all the cars getting looks of admiration as they they stared at his car. Derek usually was a bit self conscious about all the money he had, but that night he felt like flaunting it. He took a right turn and sooner or later was in the parking garage of his own girlfriend's apartment complex. He parked his car nearest to the door that was going directly into the building and closest to her . Derek cut off the engine and grabbed the flowers and stepped out of the car. He locked the car behind him and made his way toward the door that lead to the apartments. Derek paused when he saw the passcode to get into the apartment complex. He stared up at the tall ceiling and whispered the numbers to himself then punched them in and opened up the glass door. He then was on the hallway of her apartment. Room 37A. Damn, his heart was beating so fast and he could barely keep his own balance.
Derek finally reached her door and was about to knock but hesitated, but when he realized they had recently exchanged keys to each others apartments for whenever they wanted to come over. Derek reached into his wallet and pulled out the lone key and unlocked her door and walked in, silently closing it behind him. His eyes scanned her apartment for Vaeda and began to walk through it, still holding onto the daisies. Derek walked past the bathroom and paused when he spotted her. he smiled and walked into the bathroom as she stood in front of the mirror. Derek set the flowers on the counter of the sink and wrapped his arms around her waist while he was still behind her. He kissed her neck and looked at her eyes through the reflection in the mirror."C-c-can I just take you to bed and call t-this a wrap?" He pulled away slightly and kissed the side of her face. Damn why was she was beautiful? Derek moved away from his girlfriend, but kept one hand around her waist."I got you flowers, being the kick the butt boyfriend I-I...am." He was grinning from ear to ear as he stared at Vaeda.

enough words for fuckincirce and she's wearing thisOh her heart was racing in her chest. She was so excited for tonight that she could barely stand it. Getting dressed up and ready for a party was almost like an everyday thing for her. She always dressed in the highest of heels and the prettiest of dresses. She loved looking pretty, not only for herself, but for her boyfriend Derek. She loved looking pretty and feeling good about herself. If she dressed like a trash can, she would feel so crappy about herself, and that was something she just couldn’t do. If she didn’t like how she felt about herself, then she couldn’t focus on anything. Being focused was something she always had to be. When she was unfocused or out of place, she just felt off. All she wanted was perfection, and no one got perfection without being focused. It was unrealistic to say that you could do anything to achieve perfection anyways, but Vaeda was the type of person that wanted everything to be as close to it as possible. Without it, the world would be chaos and in a complete disarray. Something in her life other than her dress code needed to be near perfect, and one thing she could think of other than her school and work was her relationship with Derek. He was sweet, gentle, loving, everything a girl wanted in a man. He was all hers. One thing was certain; he was too good for her. He hadn’t kissed a man behind her back, nor had he lied about it to her face. She had done such a thing, and it still haunted her, making her wish she could take back everything. All she wanted was to be exactly what Derek wanted. She knew he didn’t want a liar or a cheat, and that was why every time she saw him, she thought how much better he was than her. She had almost forgotten about the little incident because she had put it so far out of her mind and thrown everything else in it; until today. Today, one of the most important days of the year, she had thought about Elijah. What a stupid, horrible mistake that had been. All she wanted to do was curse herself and feel that much more terrible. She had thought about going to him and talking to him about it, but that only made her think about the fact that if she saw him again, she would want to do it all over again. all Vaeda needed to do was stay away from Elijah. Everything would be…perfect.
Vaeda sighed as she stepped into the shower. Tonight she was going to have a blast with Derek and nothing would stop her. There was going to be no drama tonight, or she was going to have a fit. For once, she would just like everything to go smoothly. She wanted a night that she would remember forever, one that would be magical. She wanted a fairy tale. Derek would be her Knight in Shining Armor, the castle would be the epitome of a dream, and she would be the princess that was going to be taken away on a white horse. They would dance until their feet hurt and kiss under the stars. Vaeda sighed dreamily thinking about the night that lay ahead. If everything went the way she planned, she was going to fall in love with Derek all over again. her boyfriend was just as romantic as her, giving her flowers on a random day just because he had thought of her. He was the best thing that had happened to her since sliced bread. Vaeda couldn’t be any happier in her life. Well, actually, if she had stayed away from that human, she would be in an even better state. Since she couldn’t do anything about the past, she decided not to think about it. Instead, she continued dreaming about how majestic this night would be.
After cleaning herself, she wiped herself down in a towel and wrapped another dry one around her waist. She looked at the foggy mirror and wiped a circle in it so she could see her reflection in the wall to wall mirror above her sink. He turned her head to the side wondering how she wanted to do her hair and what kind of earrings would go best with her outfit. Her dress had an empire waist that split her dress in two colors, sparkly gold on top, and white with a flow on the bottom. She decided dry hair would be easier to work with, so she got out her blow dryer from under the sink and plugged it in. as she dried her hair, she wondered when Derek would get here. He was so prompt and on time for everything that it was unlike him not to already be here. Being early for everything was another thing that made her smile. she liked that if he wasn’t fifteen minutes early, he felt late. She would always giggle when she saw him scurrying around to try to find things as he was leaving. She could just imagine him now, going around making sure he had gotten everything he needed before he left.
She thought about whether she should have gotten her boyfriend something for tonight. Maybe just a small something to show him how much she appreciated him and how loving and amazing he was. now thinking about it, she really did wish she would have thought to do it earlier. She would just have to do something extra special for him tonight. Maybe like a massage or something. that was actually kind of a good idea. She smiled to herself in the mirror when her hair was finally dry, and was happy to know that she had come up with something. she would have to write it on a note for him or something. Vaeda skipped to her dresser where a spare pad and pen were, and wrote him a little note telling him so. After slipping on a pair of underwear, she brought the note back with her into the bathroom and hummed a little tune to herself.
The werewolf heard the door open, and she smiled into the mirror. She saw him pass her by, then come back to her with an adorable grin. She giggled a little seeing him so dressed up. She had seen him like this many times, but she always loved how sexy he looked in a suit or tuxedo. She saw the flowers he set on the counter and her grin widened. He wrapped his arms around her waist, and she put her hands over his. She moved her head to the side so he could have easier access to her neck. As he stuttered out a sentence, she grabbed the flowers and held them up to her nose. She laughed into the flowers and looked up at him with adoring eyes. Smelling them, she closed her eyes. They were her favorite flower, the happy flowers. They were the epitome of Vaeda. She set the flowers back down on the counter and wrapped one arm around his neck. Vaeda kissed Derek and rested her other hand on his chest. Pulling away just a little, she said, “The best.” She smiled and kissed him once more. Her heart was beating quickly just being around him. she loved him so much it hurt sometimes. It was a good kind of pain though, one she absolutely adored.
Vaeda pulled away from her gorgeous boyfriend and turned back towards the mirror. She pulled her hair back, twisted it, then pulled it back in front of her, leaving her back exposed. She left the bathroom to fetch her dress, and dropped her towel. She stepped into her dress and pulled the straps onto her shoulders. The werewolf came back to the bathroom and turned her back to Derek. “Zip me up, will you?” she asked and twisted her head so she could smile at him again.

i feel so used because of youhow could you do this to me? There were no words to express the amount of happiness that was bubbling through his body. Derek had an odd obsession with things being absolutely perfect and gladly he had to make little effort to make this night as wonderful as it could be. It was already all laid out perfectly. They would spend their night together and have fun like no other. He couldn't imagine spending time at the ball with anyone else. Derek chuckled softly. His life sounded like such a fairytale. He wasn't sure what to actually think of that, but it wasn't like it mattered anyways. Derek was only focused on his girlfriend at the moment. He watched silently as she picked up the flowers and examined them with a smile and dipped down to smell them. Derek loved to do anything to please Vaeda. She deserved to be treated like a princess and that was what he was going to give her. Derek just wanted to give her everything she wanted and make sure she was happy, and he felt like he was doing a good job so far.
Derek tried at all times to be the best boyfriend he could be. He was brought up to be like that and treat women with the upmost respect. Derek sometimes did let his temper get the best of him and he would find himself being a complete asshole. He did have very little patience when it came to certain things sometimes. Derek was very punctual and he absolutely hated it whenever someone was late, so he usually found himself smart mouthing off to people male or female because of that. He couldn't count off how many times he had basically cussed his professor out for being late to a lesson. Derek figured he was paying so much money for an education, so the prof should have been there before him. He was only wasting his time.
Derek always got his blood boiling over very minor and stupid things, but he usually he wasn't a complete douche about everything and apologized after. He sometimes had to establish with certain people that he really did have some anger issues. Derek gladly hadn't shown Vaeda that side too much. There had been a few times where they had their little arguments, and she had seen a flash of him like that, but hopefully there weren't be a time where she could have to seem him act like a complete dick.
Derek sometimes blamed it on how spoiled he was as a child. He always got what he wanted and whenever things went wrong for him he kind of threw a hissy fit. Derek learned how to bite his tongue for certain things so he wouldn't seem like a complete pessimist, but it was just the normal things that seriously got him agitated. Actually now that he thought of it there had been a few times that Vaeda had seem him act a fool. The anger hadn't been directed towards her thankfully and he was simply only defending his opinion and his girlfriend. Derek wasn't going to be made a fool in front of Vaeda so he had kind of snapped on a few people. He had been in control of himself for a bit, so that was good news. Derek snapped out of his thoughts for a few moments to pay attention to the beautiful woman in front of him.
Derek kissed the side of her face again, taking in her scent. Ahh, everything about her was just so flawless. She was everything he could dream of. He still watched quietly as she set the daisies back down and he felt her dainty arm wrap around his neck and her soft lips find his own. He smiled into the kiss as she laid her hand on his chest. Derek massaged the part where his hand lay softly on her waist as she kissed him. He grinned at her when she pulled away only slightly to respond to what he had said moments ago. She stole another kiss and turned back to her own reflection and he too let go of her. Derek moved around to the side of her and leaned against the counter of the sink, just studying her.
He constantly did this, actually they both did. Derek just couldn't get enough of her and found himself staring at her. She was the definition of beautiful and he made sure she knew that. Derek crossed his arms over his chest and looked away from her to stare around the bathroom, just trying to busy himself. He picked up the flowers he had brought her again and actually took a moment to smell them. Derek never had a huge interest in flowers, but he had to know which kinds to boy for Vaeda. He set the flowers back down and looked back up to see Vaeda venturing out of the bathroom.
He was tempted to follow her, but he just stay rooted in his spot, knowing she would be back. Vaeda would have voiced if she wanted him to follow. Derek stopped leaning against the counter to check his own reflection. He leaned in very close and put on a fake smile to examine his teeth. He looked spick and span. Derek didn't see anything wrong so he leaned away from the mirror and glanced at the doorway to see Vaeda skipping back in in her dress. Before he could get a good look at it, she had spun around and asked him to zip it up. Derek smiled softly and walked toward her. He slowly ran his fingertips down her bareback, teasing her. Derek leaned in very close to her ear and whispered,"Certainly, my l-l-lady." He said in a husky voice, even though there was a large grin on his face. He was only messing with her. Derek's fingers finally reached the bottom of her dress and he slowly zipped it up and he grabbed her shoulders lightly to turn her around so he could survey her dress. His eyes stared at her with complete adoration. She was completely gorgeous. Derek leaned down to kiss her lips softly,"You're so b-beautiful.." He said staring into her eyes with a soft smile. Derek caressed the side of her face and gave her another peck.

enough words for fuckincirce and she's wearing thisVaeda had really found herself an amazing guy. He was basically everything she could ever ask for in a man. He was polite, smart, funny, sweet, romantic in every way, and he treated her like she was a princess. Sure he had a bit of a temper, but who didn’t? Even Vaeda was known on very rare occasions to have a bit of an argument with someone, but it was always diffused in a matter of no time, and she was back to her normal self. Derek had never been terribly mad or furious with her, so she had never actually witnessed first-hand how bad his temper could be, but she had seen him yell at other person, but it hadn’t really made her think any differently of him. He was more than decent, and he never took out his frustrations on her. She couldn’t remember a time when she had ever thought Derek was less than amazing. It was so odd that she had actually been dumb enough to cheat on him. She hadn’t seen Elijah since they kissed that night at the party, and she had no desire to, either. It really angered her that one of her friends that she had just helped prior would take advantage of her in her drunken state. If she saw him again, she would probably feel angry, awkward, saddened, and frustrated with herself for allowing so many feelings to arise. Perhaps the fact that she hadn’t told Derek any of it was the reason she could still feel all the guilt. She didn’t want to feel that weight on her shoulders anymore, but she couldn’t tell Derek about it because it would crush him and she couldn’t have him be sad one bit. She didn’t want him to be disappointed in her, either. Vaeda was known for being one of those people who never purposefully hurt someone or intentionally did something bad. She was against most things that were considered bad, so it was almost impossible to do them unless it was unintentional or accidental. She would never purposefully hurt Derek or cheat on him. It may have been the alcohol that had her act on those few thoughts of Elijah that she had had, but she wouldn’t have done it if she were sober, and she hadn’t kissed him, Elijah kissed her! Maybe it was both… She didn’t know anymore.
She only wanted to think about Derek and how perfect he was for her in every way. She knew he would never cheat on her or even think about it. He was too in love with her to think thoughts like that. And Vaeda thought she was in love with Derek enough to not do it, but apparently it hadn’t been so. She sighed under her breath. Now was not a good time to think about him or her past mistakes. She hugged Derek and thanked him for the flowers. He really was a sweet, romantic man. He deserved a lot more than he got. He was kind and gentle with her, and he basically meant everything to her. She loved him, there was no doubt about that. She just needed to show him that more.
Vaeda kissed his cheek before rushing out of the room to get her dress. When she came back, she turned around and waited for him to zip up her dress. She felt his warm finger trail down her back, sending goosebumps across her arms and a small shiver down her spine. She grinned at him until he turned her around. Her smile broadened when he complimented her with a slight stutter. That stutter was one of the things she loved the most about him. She went to him and put her hands on his cheeks. “Thank you. You look quite dashing yourself.” She said and kissed him softly. After pulling back, she grabbed his hand and led him back into her bedroom, turning off the lights. All she had to do was put on her shoes and she would be ready to go. Vaeda looked around for her shoes, and found them located by the bathroom door. After slipping them on, she turned to face Derek. “Okay, I’m ready to go.” She said and walked to him, putting her hand in his. She was ready to dance the night away.

i feel so used because of youhow could you do this to me? Whenever he was with Vaeda it was like the whole world had stopped spinning. He knew how cliche that sounded and he could barely even believe he was able to experience such a mind numbing feeling. As his blue eyes met with hers, he could barely keep his breath steady. Derek could feel all the blood pumping through his veins. His pale hand caressed the side of her delicate face and Vaeda mimicked the action. Derek leaned into her hand and closed his eyes for a brief moment. He smiled down at her as she spoke. This was so unreal to him. He repeated that in his mind several times whenever they were together, but the reality never seemed to have sank in. Derek pushed his mind away from his clouded, happy thoughts when her voice interrupted them. He blinked a few times and nodded when she said she was ready to go. Derek squeezed her hand lightly as she grabbed it and pulled him into her room, where he expected her to get her shoes. He watched silently as she pulled them on and studied her whole outfit quickly. God, she was like an angel. Derek let go of her hand and wrapped his arm around her back and put his hand lightly on her waist. He kissed her cheek and grabbed his keys from out of his pocket.
He then guided them to the front door and moved to open the door for her. After she moved through it, he closed it gently behind them and he grasped her hand again and began pulling her toward the parking lot. Derek glanced over at her and gave her a loving smile. He could already imagine how this night would be. Both of them would get a little bit tipsy and dance like silly fools. Derek gave her hand another light squeeze as they reached the door that lead to the parking garage. He opened the door and held it for her and they both slipped inside the large and spacious garage. The two walked silently, the only sound was her heels echoing. Derek sped up a bit as he spotted his car. He glanced down at his car keys and unlocked his Camaro. He shoved the keys in his pocket for the moment and guided her over to the passenger side and let go of her hand so he could open the door. Derek gave her a quick peck and watched as she sat down in the black seat inside the car. He shut her door and skirted around to the driver's side.
He ran over the directions to the Onyx Castle in his mind, mumbling them under his breath. Derek opened the door and sat down in the car, shoving the key in the ignition and starting it up He glanced up at the rearview mirror to see if anyone was approaching and he put the car in reverse and backed out the spot and they were on their way toward the castle. Derek knew it wouldn't take too long to get to the destination, but he needed some music to cover up the silence. The silence between him and Vaeda was never awkward, he just needed some music to help him focus on the road. Plus it was always fun to have those funny dance moments in the car with Vaeda. He doubted he would put on any type of fast beat things at the moment. Derek turned on the radio and changed it to an instrumental station, glancing down at the buttons and back up at the road. He stopped at a red light and looked over at Vaeda and placed his hand on her thigh and lightly massaged the spot. He moved his hand back to the steering wheel as the light turned green and they were on their way again.
Derek mumbled under his breath again the directions he had forced himself to memorize and found himself nearing the castle. There had been a time where Vaeda and him had visited the large place, but he had help from her to get there. Derek was never bad with directions, so it had been pretty simple. He was only recitingthem to himself because he needed to make sure he still remembered. It was a type of OCD he did. There were many quirks to him and Vaeda seemed to have become very accustomed to them. He honestly had no idea why she still kept up with him. Derek turned the wheel and found himself in front of the castle. He paused when he saw a faerie standing outside the gates who seemed to be doing valet. Derek stepped out and walked around to open the door for Vaeda as well. He threw the keys at faerie and told him, unable to stop his studder, to bring it back safely. Derek wrapped his arm around Vaeda's waist and they made their way towards the entrance.
Derek walked in with her and he studied the large hall and glanced over at Vaeda and flashed a large grin. He let go of her waist and grabbed her hand."Come d-dance with me." The werewolf pulled her over towards the large crowd of dancing bodies. At the moment a more modernized song began to place and laughed as he made Vaeda fdo a corny twirl. He brought her close to his body and kissed her neck softly."Stay mine forever." Derek said sweetly as they glided along to the music. He was smiling from ear to ear. He could feel the wonderful potential to this night.

enough words for fuckincirce and she's wearing thisIt was a wonder why the two hadn’t had more arguments. They thought differently about so many things, yet it was like neither of them even cared about how badly they knew the other may have been wrong. They hadn’t talked much more about marriage other than the fact that they both eventually wanted to settle down, and with the other. They knew after marriage came babies, but because Vaeda was so worried about having kids she told him that it would be better to talk about it later. So many things could go wrong with kids, especially little werewolf babies. The strength they would have, the way they would be able to communicate with animals which could lead to an entirely new problem, and just the overall, what a terrible word for it, hassle they would be. She had yet to even finish school, much less get a job yet. She was still doing internships, waiting for the right, the perfect job to come along. It would have to be in Manuka, of course. All of her family was here. Derek was here. All of what she knew was here. Growing up here, knowing that some of her family had gone away from Manuka and been killed, all of it only made her want to stay in this city more. She was almost afraid to leave this place for a long period of time. She didn’t want to end up like her cousins had. And she would do anything to keep her siblings here, too. It would tear her apart inside knowing that she could have stopped them leaving, could have prevented their death which almost certainly awaited any Way that left Manuka.
Since that was a bit of a depressing matter, Vaeda returned her attention to Derek who was scooting her along to the parking garage. She followed him silently as his hand intertwined with hers almost automatically. Vaeda felt comfortable when she was with Derek. Secured, even. He was everything she had ever hoped for in a man and more. Which was why she found herself so amazed that he stayed with her for so long. She knew he was quite fond of her, too, but she thought he exaggerated how amazing she was. she wasn’t all that great. She always felt so much guiltier when he complimented her about how good she was, because in fact, he was the better one. He was the one who was too good for her. He would never think of cheating on someone, even if he was drunk. Alcohol only brought out the bad side in people, and the side of Vaeda it brought out was the one attracted to Elijah. One that didn’t think about the perfect boyfriend she had back home. The one that threw everything out the window for one night of fun that could ruin her relationship with Derek forever.
But she didn’t know who she was anymore without him. she was so dependent on him for so much. To make her feel better, to make her feel comforted, to make her feel wanted and loved. All of these things now lay heavily on her shoulders like the weight of the world, only much worse because she didn’t know how to tell him. tonight was definitely not the night to spill her guts. The only time she would ever do that would be if he were so drunk he could barely stand and she was certain that he wouldn’t remember. Then she would be able to see how he would react to the whole ordeal without having actually having him know what happened yet. Then she could somehow maybe manipulate her little speech and figure out how to make it seem like it really was nothing. It would be easier to know how he would think about the whole thing.
Shit. Wasn’t she supposed to not be thinking about any of this stuff? This coming crawling back to her mind was making her so angry she cussed, and Vaeda never cussed, not even in her mind. It was something that only people with a lack of vocabulary did. She knew bigger, better words than those used as curses. It only made her more agitated with herself. She huffed a little when she finally reached the garage with Derek. It sounded like she was a little out of breath after all the stairs, but that wasn’t the case at all. Anger fumed inside her, all at herself. Something needed to happen to make her feel alright about tonight. About basically lying to the person she loved the most in the world.
She got into the car and watched as he walked around to his driver’s side. She whimpered a little before he sat down. The sound just escaped her lips. it sounded like one of the many lost puppies that had come her way. Like they had no hope in the world at all until they finally found Vaeda who spoke soothingly to them, cooing them to sleep. Making them feel wanted and loved. She needed someone to soothe her, someone to make her feel like everything would be okay, even when she knew it could tear Derek away from her. Surely he would forgive her for one mistake. Love was something you had to work for. It wasn’t some easy obstacle. And Vaeda had apparently made their first huge obstacle appear.
The time flew right by before she realized they had arrived at the castle. It was even more glorious than she had remembered when Derek and she had a picnic here just a while before. He left the car with someone to park, got his ticket, and they were on their way inside. She picked up her dress so it wouldn’t drag along the stone path up to the door and felt Derek’s hand around her waist. She smiled up to him and the doors opened for them. Her mouth almost dropped at how magical it all looked. The beauty the faeries had done was remarkable. The lights, the beautiful decorations, all for them it seemed. She didn’t notice very many people because the only person she saw was right beside her. He stuttered out an invitation to dance, and she accepted graciously. Vaeda smiled as the music played and he twirled her once before laughing. She giggled right along with him and pulled him closer to her. She didn’t want any space between them. His words were almost inaudible with the music, but she could hear him ask her to be his forever. Her heart squeezed tightly in her chest and she looked up into his bright blue eyes.
She kissed him lightly and said just as softly, “Forever.” Vaeda let her head rest on his chest, since with these heels she was about up to his chin. Her eyes scanned the room now. For people she might know, for family even. When her eyes didn’t see anyone she was very interested in, she lifted her head. The song was turning into a soft, slow tune and she tightened her arms around Derek making sure he knew to stay for another song. She sighed softly and that’s when she saw him. The one person in the entire world she knew would make this night a disaster, would make any night a disaster since that night just a little while ago. Vaeda bit her lip and saw his eyes on them. Another whimper escaped her lips and her eyebrows furrowed with worry.
Elijah.

SHE'LL BE THINKING OF ME even when she's with you This made no sense. If his family was so disgraced by his very presence, by the fuck was he here supporting them and showing the Sabrer name? Was it to say ‘look, we’re so friendly we accept our special son’. God he felt like one of those special ed kids going with his family. He stayed with Logan for the longest time, who kept bitching about wearing a dress (he wouldn’t blame her, he’d bitch too). Both of them were stuck in this stupid winterball situation. However, unlike him, she actually had a date with her fiancé and had to leave to attend his happy ass. Leaving Elijah alone to look at all the pretty sparkling lights ahead of him that nearly blinded him. His whole family was chatting, mingling among the other important families of the supernatural world, talking about things they could probably care less about it. Questions like ‘how are the kids?’ when they were just trying to find out if they had disgraced the family like Elijah had. Or ‘oh she’s engaged?’ even though they probably already knew it. They just wanted to strike up something pleasant. God it made him sick.
Which was why he brought his handy dandy flask. Man, he loved this thing. It was tucked on the inside of his coat, whispering that he should take a drink to get rid of this headache. By no means was Elijah trying to become drunk. After drinking so much, it took quite a bit of him to become that drunk every night. He had promised Logan not to become drunk so that when the evening was over, she didn’t have to beat a drunken Elijah while she could rant about Aiden. He promised he would only have one flask. That’s all he had. It was already half gone and not even the smallest little hint of some buzz. The only hint was the burn at the back of his throat that lingered. It was only slightly. He was probably going to be eating some food while he was there like a fat kid, so that would sober him even more so. No, he was in no worry about it. There was a part of him that dreaded being sober this entire stupid night, but his body was thanking him for the relief. He’d actually have energy tomorrow. He won’t know what to do with himself.
Although, he did have to say himself- he was looking pretty spiffy. Elijah had always looked good in fashionable clothes. The bright blue tie seemed to put some sort of color on the black and white landscape. The shoes were actually hand me downs, and he was pretty sure there was a current pair of shoes in woman style much like these. His sister commented on it and he only shrugged and making a fun made up tap dance on the spot. He had no idea how to tap dance, but it sure shut his damn sister up. With a shrug, he drank a sip from his flask and placed it very safely back into his pocket. He wandered over a little bit, not really in the mood for anything like dancing. Some girls that he had known from childhood politely asked and it had been a ‘why not’ situation. Elijah couldn’t say he hadn’t really asked anyone. There was no one that interested him. Elijah wasn’t one of those guys who hunted for one night stands. When they came, its because they went all over him and he couldn’t say no.
That’s when he looked over and saw her. She was glittering in the most beautiful white and gold, her gorgeousness showing up all the other women in there. Compared to everyone else, they were absolutely nothing. Most girls looked plastered up and like a bunch of dime of dozen dolls all planted in a row. It was like some awful Barbie fest, but in front of him now it was all tunnel vision… right next to her boyfriend. Damn it Elijah, haven’t you caused enough trouble already? He asked himself, remembering the night he had kissed Vaeda. He took her to a party and they both had a little too much to drink. He had kissed her. It had been just on impulse and realized that the girl wasn’t available for him. As much as he wanted to forget the kiss and think but it was nothing but a drunken kiss, he couldn’t lie to himself. He knew very well how he felt on that subject, even if he wouldn’t admit it to anyone else.
They were dancing and he waited until the song was finished until he came up to her. He might as well. Elijah still thought of her as a good friend. If anything, it was going to be much more skeptical if two friends who talked went to no friends who didn’t talk. Besides, this would be the perfect opportunity to apologize, since his attempt had been more of a slurred blabber about impulse or something he didn’t even quite understand. He let his crazy ass hair float above him as he waltzed over there, giving a dashing smile as he did so. Might as well make an impression. Some of him was showing off because Derek was around, but whatever. This was strictly friendly for once. Elijah fixed his tie and approached the couple. His eyes met with Derek but a little harder than when he would have looked at Vaeda. Derek was a decent guy, he really was. Elijah felt like an ass for going after a decent guy’s girl. ”Hey Derek. Vaeda.” He nodded. Figured might as well act all gentleman at something like this. He needed to talk to Vaeda but in no way was he going to do it with Derek around. An idea popped into his head. ”Just wondering if Vaeda could fit a good friend in her dancing schedule?” He asked, acting as if they hadn’t done a thing. He wasn’t sure if she said anything to Derek or not, but here was his chance to find out.

i feel so used because of youhow could you do this to me? All the beauty of the castle and the girl in front of him was overwhelming. He would let all of the happiness carry him away. In that moment he just felt like a whole. For a long time, he had been confused and lost about his life, but now none of those negative things were even running in his mind. Vaeda was all that he saw as they dances and moved along to the music. He couldn't even hold the cheesy grin that kept playing on his lips. The castle was stunning and so was his girlfriend and he couldn't even complain about a thing. Not that Derek ever complained in the first place. Everything just felt so magical and unreal. He enjoyed the closeness of her body and couldn't even help but whisper sweet things to her. Derek felt his heart quicken as he whole face lit up at his comment. He smiled and returned the kiss. Derek closed his eyes and leaned his head against hers as she laid her head on his chest. Her warmth was all he needed at that moment. Derek felt her lift her head and he gave her waist a soft squeeze.
He had very high hopes for the night and he was just praying it would go smoothly. Derek had taken Vaeda out to nice gatherings like this before and those nights were pretty amazing because he always planned something nice for them when they returned home. He always had something up his sleeve to make Vaeda happy and as soon as the ball was over they'd just og back to his apartment and get lost in each other. Derek loved all of his moments with Vaeda. He felt like she could actually be "the one" that people always mentioned. He never believed in all of that mumbo jumbo, but it seemed pretty legit to him now. Nobody had ever made him feel so wonderful and he hoped she felt the exact same. Not too many words to describe how he felt of the beautiful werewolf he held in his arms.
The song began to change again and he didn't mind staying for it. It was a beautiful song and had a slow, alluring tune. Derek knew that she wanted to stay for another song when her small arms squeezed tighter around his neck. He gave her a kiss on her head, keeping his lips there, taking in the sweet scent of her hair. Derek pulled his head up and tried to pull Vaeda closer, even though there was no way they could. The song was beginning to die out and slowly fade into another one. Derek honestly didn't mind staying for another song, but before he could ask if she wanted to go off, but her attention was else where and he noticed someone was approaching them. He hadn't noticed until he was a few feet away. Derek pulled away from Vaeda, but kept one of his hands on her waist. He smiled as Elijah was now in front of the couple. Derek glanced down at Vaeda, giving her another squeeze on her waist and another kiss on the forehead. He turned back to look at Elijah who had a smile on his face aswell.
Derek honestly thought Elijah was a pretty good guy. He was pretty funny and he knew he was pretty close with Vaeda, so he figured he had to be pretty good if he was worthy in Vaeda's eyes. Derek didn't know much about him besides him being friend's with his girlfriend and his family status. Derek knew a lot about people considering his wealth. He didn't truly mingle with many people because he was always so focused on his own life. All he had was Vaeda and his schooling. Derek was just a dedicated man. He made note to get to know Elijah better for Vaeda's sake. He felt like he should be more familiar with people she cared for anyways. Derek didn't want to feel too out of the loop. He needed to get more out of his shell anyways, so that could be good for him anyways. And a break from his schooling would also be a bit of a brain relaxer.
Derek snapped out of his happy thoughts back into reality. He said his hello back to Elijah and leaned his head a bit foward to catch what he was saying next. Derek honestly didn't mind Vaeda and another man dancing because he trusted her and honestly he didn't think Elijah would try anything while he was there anyways because there would be major drama and Derek didn't want to cause a scene in the middle of the ball. That would be entirely inappropriate. His own temper was just so unpredictable anyways. Derek nodded and let go of Vaeda."Knock y-yourself out." He gave him a nice clap on the shoulder and moved away from his girlfriend."I'll just go get some d-drinks then." Derek gave a toothless smile and walked off, glancing back once to give a playful wink to Vaeda. He made his way toward the bar, sitting down on one of the comfortable stools and drumming his fingers along the bar top with the beat of the song that was on. Derek ordered a round of drinks, silently awaiting for the song to finish so he could return back to the two.

enough words for fuckincirce and emily and she's wearing thisWas it just her, or was this all just some kind of messed up dream? It felt pretty much like a dream to her. Why did he have to just come up out of nowhere when she was finally starting to forget about what happened. She felt guilty enough when she wasn’t looking at Elijah, but no. Of course it had to be more difficult than that. Of course he had to show his face again and make her relive that moment. She felt her stomach drop when he walked over, but tried not to show any discomfort because Derek still had no idea what had happened that night. She didn’t want him to find out, either, but it would be really difficult with the man she kissed standing in front of her. He somehow made her really uncomfortable, and yet she still managed to uphold her composure. She held onto Derek’s arm and nodded to him as nonchalantly as possible.
Why did he want to dance? She almost had a mini heart spasm when Derek let go of her waist and went off to get drinks. She took a step back from Elijah and crossed her arms under her chest. She knew she was going to have to dance with him or else she would look suspicious, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t find out why he wanted to dance with her. Maybe to apologize or ask for one from her. She did need to say sorry for what she did. It was probably the stupidest, most irresponsible thing she had ever done. She wished she could go back in time and take it all back. She did realize that she put all of this on herself and she should probably take responsibility for her idiotic actions, but she didn’t want to lose Derek. He was her rock. He was one of the only people she knew she could always count on. If she lost him, she would be completely alone (well, with her family of course, but alone as in boyfriend-less, which was just as bad, especially since Derek was the first person she ever truly loved).
“W-why are you doing this?” she asked, and quickly looked away. God, she was pathetic. She couldn’t even look at Elijah. She needed to stop thinking that this kiss was the worst thing she ever did. Except, it almost was. she hardly ever did things like that, and she never did things to purposefully hurt someone, especially not Derek. Vaeda took a deep breath and looked at Elijah. He really did look handsome. Not as handsome as Derek. Never as handsome as Derek. she had to keep reminding herself of it or else her mind would completely drift away from him. Derek was the thing that needed to be on her mind the most right now. If he was there, then she would remember how much he meant to her and how much she needed him and how much she didn’t deserve him.
Slowly her mind left Derek. As much as she tried to think about him, Elijah’s presence was much more apparent than any memory could ever hope for. He had such a dominant presence, and it was difficult to not look at him. She finally gave in and glanced at him. Shit. That was a bad idea. Suddenly she felt like crying. She didn’t know why now or what the reason was, but she felt like doing it. Instead, she sighed and let her arms drop.
Vaeda looked back at Derek, but he was too far away at the bar to see. Still, he could probably see them, and since they still hadn’t said more than a few words to each other, would probably be wondering what was wrong—or worse, if something was going on. She resigned and finally stepped forward. “Let’s dance at least, while you explain yourself,” she said and looked everywhere but into his blue eyes. She barely put her hand on his shoulder, and barely touched his hand. She kept him at arms-length, and watched all of the adorable couples around her. Just moments ago she was one of those adorable couples. Now, she felt uncomfortable and worried, and she hated it. She wished it didn’t have to be this way right now. She wanted to forget everything, and just be normal.
She hated most of all that her relationship with one of her good friends was completely ruined. She would never be able to look at Elijah the same way. There would always be some sort of regret or guilt that hit her in the stomach when she saw him now. She would always feel guilty, unless she finally fessed up to Derek. She didn’t know if she would ever be able to do that for fear of him breaking up with her. She did feel terrible though. Maybe tomorrow she would tell him. not tonight, which was supposed to be romantic and lovely for them both. Nothing was less romantic than having your girlfriend tell you that they kissed another guy. Maybe Derek would understand that her judgment was clouded due to all of the alcohol she had had, and the scene she wasn’t used to. He had made mistakes before and she had forgiven him. she only hoped he wouldn’t kill Elijah when he found out it was him who had been the one kissing his girlfriend. Maybe she shouldn’t specify that it was Elijah, and just refuse to tell him. She knew how bad Derek’s temper could get sometimes. She could only hope he would be as forgiving as she was making him out to be.

SHE'LL BE THINKING OF ME even when she's with you The way Vaeda was acting so distant towards him, he was a little bit hurt, but he also didn’t really blame her. He’d be keeping his distance away too, but Elijah couldn’t just let this one go. Despite what others thought, Elijah wasn’t that kind of guy. He needed to become clean. It was easier to become clean than to have it nagging on him. Besides, it’d be nice not to be shunned like her forever. He was sure that if anything went wrong, he could blame this on the alcohol, but honestly, Elijah was pretty sober for being Elijah. Derek, being the nice guy he was, seemed completely obvious about the situation, and he couldn’t help but relax just a little bit. The winterball was the last place where Elijah wanted to get into some insane fight with a boyfriend trying to fend for his girlfriend like a good boyfriend. The only reason he stammered really was because that was him. At least, that’s what Elijah caught. The only times talking to the guy, he was stuttering as if he wasn’t sure what to do. Nice guy. Made Elijah feel a little more guilty.
As soon as she went away, she acted very distant to him. A deep frown curved on his lips and he continued to look at her, taking a particular notice that no matter what happened, she couldn’t seemed to look at him. He knew it was bad, but not until then did he realize how incredibly awful Vaeda felt about it. A part of him was a little insulted that she was so distant. It wasn’t as if he beat her. It was just a kiss while he was drunk. Even Elijah knew that it wasn’t completely true. His behavior when he was drunk wasn’t that he acted different. He more of did things more boldly. He had wanted to kiss Vaeda. Elijah knew it. He was sure that she knew it. He was going to try to convince her out of it. There was no reason to try to make her life complicated. Vaeda had everything. Support, boyfriend, goals, and an attitude that could kill. She didn’t need Elijah going in there fucking things up.
The stammer seemed to transfer from her boyfriend to her and he sighed a little bit with annoyance, but only to cover the clenching of his heart. Just the sad girl that looked like she didn’t know what to do tugged at his heart. He didn’t like that look she was giving him. ”We could bring Derek back and talk about it, but I thought it’d be better if I could talk to you alone.” He said, almost a bit bitterly, but had to take a deep breath. Elijah was just in a poor mood because he just spent time with his family and was getting this reaction. He didn’t know what he was expecting. He sure wasn’t expecting open arms and Vaeda being her smiling self with a ‘course I forgive your stupidity’. He wasn’t sure why he was upset about that. With another try, he added as if it would make things better, ”We have a lot to talk about.” This tone was a little softer. He took out his flask and took another drink out of it to try to calm himself down.
The song started to play, but it didn’t look as if Vaeda was going to move. In fact, when she looked at him, it looked as it pained her to look in his direction. Her brown eyes clouded with something that he couldn’t detect. Elijah needed to be drunk for this, holy shit. He wasn’t even sure how he had gotten this far. Her eyes almost looked glossy as she stepped up and said they were going to dance. Well of course, Elijah was planning on dancing. It wasn’t just a line. He wouldn’t mind a little dance with Vaeda. Back when Elijah thought he was going to make a big name for himself, he had learned the basics of slowing dancing just because it was required in his family. They were at least traditional in that sense. He was sure that somewhere around there he could find Logan at least dancing in the dress she cursed at so much. Elijah was kept at a distance and he was almost disappointed, but that was probably best with the boyfriend in the same room.
As they slowly floated on the floor, he took a deep breath. It was now or never. He wasn’t even sure quite how much he had to say and wasn’t sure how long this song was going to last. With almost a smile to look as if they were only having nothing but pleasant conversation, ”I wanted to say sorry about the other day. I know that just clears everything up, but I told you alcohol does weird things to people.” He used alcohol as the excuse, but anyone that was close to him knew what a lie that was. Elijah was going to stick to that story no matter what. His eyes darted over to see if Derek was watching, just out of curiosity, but there was so many people on the floor that he didn’t really see. While was temporarily distracted, he didn’t realize he was moving Vaeda closer to him. Honestly, just the way he was instructed to dance (which was harder than he remembered), the partner was closer to him. His strong arms didn’t even feel the slight push he gave to Vaeda as they moved. In his eyes, he was just adjusting his arms. enough words for fuckincirce and emily and she's wearing thisIt almost didn’t seem real, all of this. It had been perfect before, but now… now everything seemed to be going downhill at a quick pace. She needed to somehow keep an open mind right now and try not to think of what she did as something as terrible as it made her feel. People did worse than kiss a friend at a party every day. There was always something to compare it to, but in the end, cheating was cheating, and it was the first time she had ever done it. She would never do it again, she was sure, because it was the most terrible feeling she had ever had before. Vaeda wasn’t the type to do foolish things like this. Compared to a lot of people, she was a complete saint (until she turned into her werewolf form, and then she had no clue what she became).
Her conscious told her to tell Derek about what had happened between the two of them, but when Elijah brought it up, her head whipped around. Her heart dropped to her stomach and her eyebrows shot together in complete worry. She was relieved when he said that it would be better to talk alone. She agreed for multiple reasons. If she was going to tell Derek, she wanted to do it alone. Not only did she not want him to see Elijah with her when she told him, but she didn’t want him finding out it was Elijah at all. She couldn’t let him find out. It would put Elijah in too dangerous of a situation and even after that night, she still wanted to protect him. She didn’t know if it was just because she had known him for so long and had considered him a good friend, or if it was just in her nature to do that, especially with people she cared about. And she did care about Elijah dearly, even after what happened. She was just a little angry with both herself and with him.
Vaeda bit her lip and her eyebrows stayed pushed together. She cleared her throat and took a few deep breathes as the music started. And there it was, that weird feeling again. her stomach was doing flips and she felt like she couldn’t breathe. She wanted to leave forever and crawl into a hole until the guilt finally went away. If she were lucky enough, that would be an option to actually try. Unfortunately, Vaeda was never one to run away from her problems. She was a problem solver. Most of the time she didn’t have very many problems that needed solving. It was usually other people she liked to help. But this was monstrous. It was mostly in her mind how bad it actually was. “Yes…we do, don’t we?” she tried not to look at Elijah again. it was too painful the first time, and she knew if she did it again that she’d only feel it all over again.
Vaeda had always enjoyed dancing. It was something she was naturally pretty good at actually, but dancing with someone you were no longer comfortable with made it harder somehow. She misplaced her feet a few times and had to lean on Elijah to fix herself so they could be in sync again. She hadn’t noticed how close they had become because her stumbling had been distracting.
She couldn’t help herself when he apologized and looked into his eyes. He looked away towards the bar, just as she had before, and then back at her. She didn’t really know how to respond to that apology. She wasn’t sure if she could completely forgive him, either. He hadn’t had anything to drink that night except make a beer or two, which couldn’t get him drunk, or even tipsy. How would alcohol have any sort of input on his actions? The only one whose judgment had been temporarily tampered was hers. Vaeda almost said all of this, but thought better of it. She didn’t want to argue with him. that would solve absolutely nothing at all. So instead, she nodded and sighed. “I’m sorry, too,” she said. She looked down a little embarrassed. She knew that she would probably never drink again.
“I acted like a complete fool, didn’t i?” she asked knowing what his answer was going to be. Even if she hadn’t been intoxicated, she would have probably ended up at least wanting to kiss Elijah at that party. Since the morning that same day—even longer before—she had felt something different about him. it was something unfamiliar, and now very unwelcome. She just wanted things back to normal. She guessed talking about things would set things into motion and would help mend things. It was just hard to talk about without wanting to cry.
Of all times, now was when she needed to be strongest. She was in front of a giant crowd, and people probably saw how nervous she looked right now. Instantly her face changed. If Derek would have seen her look so worried, he may have suspected something, and she didn’t want any kind of confrontation right now from him. if they were going to talk, they needed to do it before the next song or two was over and they could go their separate ways. Then she could have a good rest of her night with her boyfriend and Elijah could go…do whatever someone without a date did. She didn’t doubt some girl was going to want to dance with him. The thought made her stomach do one of those twists, and she got annoyed with herself.
This was a never ending battle. A never ending, annoying as hell battle that she wanted to go away so she could go and love on Derek instead of think about whatever stupid girl was going to dance with him later. Never in her life had she disliked herself so much for the thoughts that ran through her head,

SHE'LL BE THINKING OF ME even when she's with you One thing that was eating Elijah from the inside out was not really just that it was a kiss. Elijah gave pointless kisses all the time. It was a common drinking game at several parties, and therefore, many didn’t really matter to him. What had seemed to matter to him was what was in that kiss on his side of the bar. He had no idea if she was feeling the same thing, but he could remember the sweet taste. The explosion behind his mouth that seemed to ripple through his body. Elijah distinctively remembered opening his eyes and looking to see her brightness upon him followed by… well the realization of what the pair of them had just done. Elijah never really felt that before, but he knew exactly what it meant. Those feelings of his were getting in the way. The way of someone else’s man for god’s sake! Elijah again pitied Derek and felt incredibly awful. The dude was such a nice guy. He didn’t deserve this.
Elijah knew that the kiss could have ended up being a lot worst. If he would have been plastered, who knows how much he would have pushed just a little bit at a time. Not saying he was a complete whore when he was drunk, but honestly, when there was someone whom he had feelings for standing in front of him, he was going to say something. It was just a prediction of experience of the mind thinking that everything that went into the mind was a good idea. That’s what alcohol did. He should have known. Really, Elijah should have been teaching some sort of health class, stood in front and gave himself as an example of what not to do. What he did was his business, but he was terrified at the thought of someone else having that lifestyle. No, that person should very well stay as far away back as they possibly could. Or else it would force him to try to convince them otherwise.
As uncomfortable as Vaeda seemed to be (again he didn’t blame her), she seemed to understand that they at least had to talk. Normally, he wasn’t all about the talking and fixing things the verbal way. However, he didn’t really see any other way of solving this besides always having that thing between them. Elijah wanted to kick it out of the way so that he could at least have his friend back. If he couldn’t have the taken woman, he might as well had her as a friend he had known since he was young. It didn’t matter to him at that moment if their relationship also happened to be the best friend’s little sister. Guys didn’t have a pack. Only girls did, so it was okay. At least, it was nothing understood by either of them. As far as Elijah saw, Isaac could go nuts over his sister if he were that crazy enough to try to. He would have to literally probably be nuts in the head though.
Vaeda may not have recognized how close they were, but Elijah sure did. It was easy to when he wasn’t really focused on anything. He couldn’t even feel anything but the closeness and the warmth it brought him. For the moment, he also seemed to ignore it as if it was just a fly on his shoulder that was simply buzzing around. He had to try to explain to himself again- why did he choose to stay sober? What a bad plan on his part. He felt like he would have done a much better job with a lot of alcohol influencing his twist of words. Sometimes he thought he was better under the influence. He wasn’t such a grump and he was a lot happier and lighter about the situations that waddled his way. When he was sober, he had too much time to think and ponder over everything. Perhaps that’s what it was. Whatever the fuck it seemed to be, he wasn’t a big fan of it.
Surprise passed him when she said that she too was sorry. It wasn’t her fault. It was most his. It had mostly been his from the start. All the way from agreeing to take her to a party in fear that she was going to get in trouble (in which she did in ways that Elijah had clearly not expected) all the way to the first kiss between them. Still, he acknowledged it with a brisk nod. Though it had been such simple words, his shoulders went down a little bit. Now that had been said, he decided to enjoy the dance a little further. His walk wasn’t exactly graceful, but it was indeed acceptable enough to pass on by. He held her close, making sure to watch her feet since she seemed to be a little stumbled by the situation. Now was the time to relax in his mind. There was nothing that could have been done about it. With a look down, he heard her small words and thought for a moment. She hadn’t completely acted like herself, but there had been worse women there, all giggling loudly and had about twice as much to drink as Vaeda did. Those were the ordinary customers though. ”Yes, but that’s almost a rule about drinking. You have to act like a complete fool. It’s why people drink.” In acting like a great fool, you didn’t think about everything else that was happening. Just on the buzz you were getting.
He swirled around some more, feeling as if he should have added to the conversation. Damn it, he wasn’t good at this. People pleasing wasn’t really one of the things he was best known for in gold sparkling letters. Chewing a little bit on his large bottom lip, he proceeded to tell her, ”Just remember, it was a drunken kiss. It didn’t mean anything to you.” He did not clarify that it meant anything to him. He didn’t particularly care what she might have assumed from that statement, but he didn’t really want to go ahead and say something like it meant nothing to him. Not only did it seem heartless to say out loud, but it also wasn’t true. She didn’t need to know. If she asked, he would only deny it and continue to pumble himself down. He’d prefer to stay as high as he could. It occurred to him that watching from a distant, the pair may have looked under a lot of stress. With a bit of force, he gave a smile, relaxing the smile once he found it fit in place while looking at her. ”Now, just get through the dance and you can mingle brightly with your little date.” He told her, trying to make it as if he were teasing just by the appearance. Fuck, Elijah felt like he was acting. How did it become that?

enough words for fuckincirce and emily and she's wearing thisVaeda didn’t know why, out of all of the places they could have talked, Elijah chose the ball. He should have known that if she was here that she would be with Derek. Was it his goal to make all of this feel as awkward as possible? Knowing Elijah, that probably wasn’t the case, but still, it was a wonder why he couldn’t wait until the next day. Was this so urgent anyways? She knew they wouldn’t be able to really ever go back to the way they were before. No friendship was exactly the same after something like this happened. Even after they were to talk about it and sort things out, she would always think about it. It wasn’t like she could help it, but being around him even now made her go back to that night. He was just so close.
She hadn’t realized it until now how close they were, and she stepped back to put space between them. She didn’t want to be any closer to him than she had to be. Vaeda didn’t want to seem rude, so she tried to do it nonchalantly, but it hadn’t really worked out. Oh well. He was a grown man, he could get over it, and he knew how completely uncomfortable she was right now. Even after her apology, there was still a part of her that wanted all of this to stop. She had to face the music though, and if the two didn’t do it now, she doubted they ever would.
Just because there was some kind of “rule” about drinking didn’t mean she had to follow it. In fact, she had drank at a lot of Derek’s parties without acting like a complete fool. Maybe in Elijah’s world that was a rule, but in hers, drinking was a thing of pleasure. “I drink because I like the taste,” she said. And she never drank more than two glasses of anything. At that party he had brought her to, she had consumed much more than two glasses, and it wasn’t just wine or champagne, it had been liquor. The only other time she had ever had that much liquor was at her 21st birthday. She had acted like a complete idiot, but it had been one of the most fun nights of her life. If she hadn’t kissed Elijah, she was sure that night would have been up there, too. But her night had been cut short, and she had been embarrassed and rushed home.
Now, she was standing in front of him feeling sorry for what she did, and knowing that she would never look at Elijah the same made her just a little sad. After a sigh, she looked up at Elijah when he spoke again. Her eyebrows shot together. “Didn't mean anything to me?” her heart quickened and she looked at him with worried eyes. Who was he to say that the kiss didn’t mean anything to her? Obviously it had, or she wouldn’t be freaking out so much right now! It had been the perfect damn kiss she had ever had, and he didn’t even know it! Those big damn kissable lips were so damn soft that she just wanted to live on the damn things. And here he goes saying it didn’t mean anything! She huffed out an annoyed breath. Was he so clueless sometimes? Or was it because she had a boyfriend that nothing but something from Derek could ever matter?
She stopped dancing even though the song was going on and annoyance filled her voice. “You don’t know jack shit, do you, Elijah?” She huffed out another angered breath and turned away from him. She stalked away, leaving Elijah behind her. She suddenly felt like crying. She just wanted to go home and eat a carton of ice cream and sleep forever. Instead, she stalked away and went up to Derek on the brink of tears. “I need a drink. Be right back,” she told him and walked quickly to the bathroom.
She walked past the few people in the bathroom and went right into the handicapped stall, locked it behind her, and sat on the commode in her dress. She held her head in her hands and let everything go. She let the tears hit her full blast, and sobbed. She didn’t know why she was being this emotional. Maybe the fact that she knew now, she could honestly say that she had feelings for Elijah? She didn’t want them! He was no good for her! He was her brother’s best friend, one of her good friends, and that was all it was ever supposed to be! So why did everything have to get so damn complicated and screwed up? Vaeda balled up her hands into fists and knocked them into her legs. She was so angry with herself! How could she have let it go so far?
When she didn’t have any more tears to cry, and she no longer felt like crying anymore, she stood. She fixed up her makeup so it wasn’t as noticeable, and when she was finally satisfied, she sighed and left the stall. There was a woman who looked at her. ”Are you okay?” she asked, her pitch high like she was uncomfortable. Vaeda gave her best smile and nodded. “Yeah. Does my makeup look too bad though? Would you be able to tell that I was crying?” she asked looking back at her reflection. The girl winced a little and took out her concealer. Vaeda laughed, but let the girl fix her up more. As the two began to talk, she found herself loosening up and beginning to smile. Vaeda told the girl what happened and why she was crying and the girl told her that she should forget about Derek and go for Elijah, but Vaeda couldn’t just throw away her relationship because of some kiss. They had been dating for so long now that she just couldn’t do that to him. He was the perfect boyfriend.
She thanked the girl after they exchanged numbers, and the two went on their way. The girl, Malory, had to get back to her hot date. Vaeda looked around for Derek, but he wasn’t at the bar where she left him.

SHE'LL BE THINKING OF ME even when she's with you It seemed as if it finally hit Vaeda how close they were. Elijah couldn’t say that he didn’t see it coming. She had to notice sometime. Still, when she was ripping away, it felt more like ripping him than anything. That wasn’t a good sign, but then again- what had been a good sign this night? The only thing that was vaguely delightful was probably seeing his cousin in god knows how long since she was engaged and all that. Vaeda probably counted somewhere in there, but at the moment, it seemed like all she wanted to do was get away from him. Elijah wasn’t very good at planning things out and thinking things through. He just assumed what first popped into his head and figured to act on impulse more than anything. Obviously with his habits, he wasn’t looking forward to see what was best for the future anytime soon. He used to do that and all the planning and dreams were crushed in the matter of a day. Because of that, he felt that future seeking was useless.
Most of their conversations before were a lot more light hearted. Perhaps every once in a while, they would end on a serious note that Elijah better to slow down on the drinking or bad things would happen. Occasionally, they would talk about life, but even that was in a light hearted way. Vaeda’s life was pretty good (in Elijah’s eyes) so mostly it was pushing him a little bit. Now the conversation seemed rather tense. Of course it was tense, what was Elijah thinking? He knew he should have been expecting this, but to actually get it was something completely different. Who knows how they could have appeared at that moment? Distant? Close? Friendly? He hoped the last option. Most people knew they were friends or acquainted and for something like that to be tense would be suspicious. Yet, he knew up-close how it looked. It was going to depend on how it looked from afar, he thought.
Why hadn’t Elijah just said no when Vaeda asked to go to the party with him? He had already been uncomfortable with it. Silly him, thinking that he was going to have to watch her the entire time for creeps trying to get her to cheat. In the end, he had been the one to kiss her. That kiss. When she so easily made an excuse for drinking, he sighed. That wasn’t the reason he started drinking. She was also drinking something different than him, but he couldn’t say he agreed with her. The taste of alcohol was bitter and left a burn at the back of someone’s throat. If it didn’t have the effect on the brain like it did, who knows if people would even drink it. So with that, he made a not so gentle roll of his eyes, trying not to sound too bitter himself as he muttered, ”Oh yes, the taste just leaves the greatest sensation.” It didn’t mean to be an insult to her, but of course, he wasn’t in the greatest of moods. Not to mention he was usually this bitter. It was only around certain people he was a little more light hearted.
Suddenly, there was a little change in pace in the conversation. He didn’t notice her look right away until she actually said something. The voice made his head snap back down at her and saw that she looked… wild. Her eyes filed with worry and her brows furrowing together in a sort of strange confusion of somesort. Elijah wasn’t sure what to think of this. The question stumped him a little bit, if it was even considered a question. Her words felt like they didn’t make sense to him. The answer should have just been some type of agreement, but she was saying it as if she was bewildered he thought that way. She had to think in a different manner, wouldn’t she? She was in love with her boyfriend, where ever he was at the moment. The thought of liking two people at the same time to him was a myth. Not that much like anyways. Elijah had his little likes towards people, but in the end, he figured when it came to that kind of power between someone, they left others alone. He assumed that much for Vaeda. However, now as she stood in front of him, her look screamed different. ”Yes…” He told her in both a confused tone and a convincing tone. Now he was convincing her this was true. How did this slight talk end up with him trying to figure out what she meant by this?
Elijah was ripped once again when her dancing just ended abruptly. The song still filled his ears as she spoke over it, snapping and turning to go away into the crowd. He would assume to find Derek. So far, Elijah was convinced that the guy was clueless about anything going on, so when she disappeared like that, it worried him he was going to be confronted by the end of the night. At first, he didn’t think of what she had said storming away like he had been an unwelcomed stranger. It took him a couple of moments to figure out and comprehend what words she left with him. This only made matters worse. What didn’t he know? What… Elijah craned his neck. Though he was tall, he was unable to look over the entire crowd like he wished to. With a sigh, he was determined to talk to her again. Leaving on that note with Elijah was like hanging something in front of someone, then running away with it. Elijah wanted all of his damn answers. The man hated leaving on a cliffhanger like that with more questions than answers. He wanted all of his answers then and there. It was why he never liked mysteries much, and this may have been the weirdest yet. He continued to scan and move through the crowd, looking for the beautiful Vaeda once again. i feel so used because of youhow could you do this to me? As Derek seated himself in front of the bar and ordered the drinks he promised to get the two on the dance floor he struck up a small conversation with the bartender. Derek was a champ when it came to chatting it up with others and basically schmoozing the hell out of them. He was a people pleaser and strived to uphold that. The only reason his family had so much money was because of his father's great social skills and climbing up the business latter. As soon as Derek was done with his schooling he would uphold that legacy and bring in more of the money. He was a bit reluctant with using his father's money anyways. Derek had been babied all of his life and wanted to work for his own. He had everything handed to him, but his father constantly insisted he deserved it because he was a wonderful kid. Now Derek was a wonderful man. He was very proud of where his life was going. He had top marks in all of the classes he was taking, he had a nice apartment, and a wonderful girlfriend.
Despite his wonderful people skills with strangers he found himself without many friends. Derek filled that hole of loneliness with the distraction of school and Vaeda. He didn't have time for anything else. Derek had grown up on the motto of putting your work and your own life in front of any type of friends. Sometimes he wondered how his life would be if he acted like all of the other men his age. Derek didn't drink heavily or sleep with other women. He had more respect for himself than that. His own eyes flashed over to Elijah and Vaeda. There was a lot of talk of Elijah's heavy drinking and partying. He was a nice man and could be so much more better. Derek watched the two dancing for a bit and turned back to the bartender as he continued to make the drinks. He was awaiting for the song to quickly end. Derek didn't mind Elijah intervening their dance, but he wanted to get back to his night with his girlfriend. Derek didn't want to have to deal with Elijah there for too long even if he did like the guy. This night was more meant for Vaeda and himself, but he gave Elijah to Vaeda because that was her friend and he meant a lot to her.
Derek scratched his skin, his fingers running over his own stubble. He nodded a thanks to the bartender as he slid the pairs of drinks on the counter. Derek reached into the pocket of his dress pants and pulled out his wallet and gave a mighty tip to the bartender. He probably needed the money more than Derek ever needed it. He grabbed the drinks and pulled himself off of the seat to begin moving his way back towards them, but he froze for a second. His blue eyes watched in confusion at the couple dancing on the floor. Derek didn't have the best eyesight, yet from what he could see the two were a bit close. He tried to dismiss it for a second. Derek narrowed his eyes, expecting them to at least realize their closeness. He blinked a few times, his chest feeling as if it were caving in a bit. Derek had a straight view of the two from where he was standing. He had a blank look on his face as he watched them.
He couldn't explain the emotions that was itching at him. Derek felt sick to his stomach. The way Elijah's hands gripped her and the closeness of their faces. Most of all was the body language. He wanted to rip the two apart, but stayed rooted to the spot. Was there something going on there that he had never realized? Derek chewed on the inside of his cheeks, trying to hide the hurt look on his face. He felt dizzy now. Derek settled himself back onto the seat, the drinks still clutched in his hands. He hadn't even realized he had been holding them so tight they were on the verge of shattering. Derek shook his head and set them down on the bar top. He stared at his hands, still unsure of what was happening.
How could she do that to him? Derek didn't care if Elijah and Vaeda were messing around or not, but how could she stand being that close to a man when her boyfriend was in the same very room. He was very aware when he was around other women. Derek wouldn't even want to be that close to another woman. He stared in disgust at the two, grinding his teeth. Derek let out a small huff and turned completely around and downed one of the glasses of wine. He set it down gently and threw back the other two. The bartender was staring at him curiously, warning him to slow down. Derek looked up giving him the most menacing look he could muster. He wasn't a very violent or hate filled guy so it was a surprising look on his face. Derek ordered some jack and coke. He needed to numb all the negative feelings bubbling inside of him.
Derek got a bit out of hand when he was angry. He didn't want to get angry with Vaeda. He wasn't even sure if he was angry. Derek was more shocked and hurt than anything. Their body language together did not at all read as friends. He glared at the counter top, trying to keep his breathing steady. Derek took a few very long gulps of the drinks. He didn't drink much and never had. Derek only drank at formal occasions or whenever him and Vaeda popped open a bottle. He couldn't handle his alcohol well and always found himself getting intoxicated very easily. Derek put his head down, shielding his face with his arm. All types of painful emotions welled up in his throat and made him want to break apart. He loved Vaeda to much for this to be happening. They couldn't possibly more than just friends. That was his woman, his Vaeda. She would never think of another man in that way. Her love was for him. Derek closed his eyes and beat his fist down on the top of the bar. He lifted his head to finish the drink and put it back down, keeping his head there for quite a bit,
Why was he just sitting there why his girlfriend was probably well off in another man's arms? He had to go claim her back. Derek pushed himself angrily out of the chair, nearly knocking it over. When he took a few steps he hadn't even realized it until the world started to spin slightly around him. He huffed out a breath of air and began to make his way toward the couple when he realized Elijah was standing there by himself. Derek paused and his blue eyes found Vaeda instantly. His heart lurched at the sight of her, but the expression on her face nearly made his crumble. Tears were brimming her eyes and there only had to be one person who made that happen. No one living would ever in his life hurt her. Derek didn't even remember he was supposed to be angry with her. Derek grabbed her arm gently,"Vaeda..." He said in a pained voice, wanting to help her, but he pulled away and ran towards the bathroom. Derek made his way to go after her. He stopped and put his head in his hands.
Elijah did something to her. That bastard wasn't going to come out of his ball living. Derek was pretty sure even if the alcohol wasn't in his system he would have reacted the same exact way. The alcohol was more of giving him more confidence to beat the shit out of Elijah. Any respect he had for that man flew out of the window. Not only did the man have feeling for Derek's girlfriend, but he had done something stupid and made her cry. Derek hadn't even realized it but he was running through the crowd and pushing people at the way at full throttle. He was now in front of Elijah, complete hatred carved in his features."What the fuck did you do to her?!" Derek brought his fist back and landed it square in Elijah's face, using all of his werewolf strength into that. He watched the boy stagger back a bit and he grabbed him by the collar pulling him close."I s-swear whatever you said to her you're going to pay for it. I saw how you were looking at her and don't even think about it. She's mine." He growled, not even noticing all the eyes on Derek and him. He was only focused on Elijah and all the pain he wanted to inflict on him. Derek was claiming what was his.

SHE'LL BE THINKING OF ME even when she's with you Looking around, there wasn’t a sign of her anywhere. Not even Derek for that matter. At least not yet. Elijah knew how many people were at the ball, but it seemed that a thousand more people showed up now that he was looking for her. Was that the reality? No, but every face he saw was brand new and sparkling, smiling or frowning at him depending on the person’s mood. Couples, friends, and family members were huddling in various circles of shapes and sizes. It was like a giant weird clique that everyone was experiencing. He probably should have been good and stayed in one of those types of circles instead of wanting to cause and solve problems. Elijah couldn’t help himself. Even if they hadn’t been able to talk like that before, he would have still wanted to dance with her. Now the sides have turned and all he was looking for was answers. The apology had been out there and waiting so that was off his chest, but now his new mission was determined to figure out why he seemed to be the one clueless about the situation he was already in.
Farther away, he could see some of his older relatives packed together in these, staring at him as if they weren’t sure to greet him or not. The older ones weren’t as forgiving of him being human as most of his cousins (which was saying something because most of his cousins had a hard time trying to believe it too). He learned to ignore it for now and drink up the looks later. Now they seemed to be piercing at the back of his neck more than normal. Yeah, he knew he wasn’t good enough, but the stares were annoying. Not to mention he was already sweating hot in the ridiculously heavy tux that he was wearing. The last thing he needed was the eyes on him. Though he was looking, he was trying to make himself look as discreet as humanly possible. Don’t pay attention to the guy craning his neck and moving through the crowd for any sign of the light dress.
Well, he didn’t find Vaeda, but he sure found Derek. He spotted Derek at first, but had no idea the guy was coming towards him because he was so busy looking around Derek for a trailing woman. It didn’t occur to him to look at the facial expression that Derek had on his face that would have suggested Elijah was going to get his ass handed to him. Or that would have been the intentions. However, he did notice when Derek was even closer. Elijah was completely caught off guard by anything. He thought that Derek may have been looking for the same person. He thought up an excuse quickly in his mind to why he had lost her (certain that Vaeda would have agreed with any other reason than the real one at this point). Elijah managed to come up with she wasn’t feeling too well and getting dizzy so she just vanished and didn’t come back. That was a good excuse as any. In a way, it was also technically right, so all that had to happen was a team up searching this entire fucking castle. However, Elijah heard what Derek was saying and the realization came to him. Shit, he knew. He wasn’t sure how, but he knew. ”It-“ He barely got a word out before a fist landed straight on his nose.
The punch he had been not expecting. He held his nose for a moment, not really having any hard feelings considering he probably deserved it. No, he did deserve it. It’s what happened when you went after someone else’s girl. Elijah opened his mouth to say something among the lines of that, but then his collar was grabbed and the guy was face to face to Elijah. Oh god, he could just feel the strength of the werewolf through his hands that was holding him. A punch in the face was one thing. Holding up by his collar meant something else. Because of him being human when he was supposed to be a firetamer, he was very insecure about being fought against supernatural like this. His heart raced so fast that it ran through his throat as he realized how easily he could be crushed right now. Like a bug. That was the human purpose in this world. They had no special powers or strengths. Elijah knew that Derek was a werewolf and if he didn’t know that, he would have known that from the grip that was almost choking him. Both hands went on Derek’s wrist in order to try to hold himself up more, his muscles bulging.
Now that he was on defense, so was his words. Everything that he may have said, honorable and true was going to come as a lie straight through his teeth. He struggled a bit, feeling the eyes at the back of his head from looking members. The faeries ordered no species to fight with each other, but that wasn’t a guaranteed little treaty they were going to have. ”I don’t know what you were seeing Derek.” He said through gritted teeth, ”I get she’s yours, but she’s not a piece of fucking property.” He told him a little more harshly, probably his fear talking more so than his logic. With a pause, he took the moment to use his long leg and reached up to kick him in the stomach, just so that he was able to let go. Wither it worked or not, he wasn’t sure, but he felt claustrophobic. Like he couldn’t breathe while he was like this.
