This man is Bays' soul-mate. Unfortunately, she died long before they could come together, but that simply wasn't their destiny. Instead, she was trapped on Earth, left to roam until they found each other, and she could accomplish that thing she wasn't able to do while she was alive (because she simply did not live long enough, like she should have). What that thing is will be for us to decide to together, whoever you are that takes this request. As far as I know, this man here gets himself in a lot of trouble fighting for the side of humans, and with whatever something, she is meant to help him. Their physical age difference, and her issue transparency would put a damper on the romantic side of things. Yes, they will fall in love, and they will come to realize they need no one but the other - but it's not going to be physical due to her being the ghost of a fourteen year old girl. True love can take form in the way most conducive so the people involved, right? That's why it's a soul-mate, I imagine, because it's beyond anything lustful.
His name and age and shifter shape is completely up to you. His background and personality, too. The only thing I ask is that he follows mostly what's above and that you discuss things with me so we can plot properly. But I want him to be yours. I want him to play with and to advance my character's story, but I might as well play him myself if I want to micro-manage your entire process. Oh, and he's got to be good. The thief thing is changeable, but my head canon right now is that he'll be a bit of a havoc bringer wherever he goes.
He can "purchase", or legitimately purchase the house she haunts. Or he notices her one her quick trips into town in a solid form, and tries to chat her up. Like. Hey, you're a bit young to be wandering around? and be all cute and concerned adult. I like the first one, but whatever works in your brain. Also, the demon that killed her is posing as a ghost, pretending to be the man who tried to save her life. He's been with her for eighteen years and has her pretty tightly wrapped around his finger. So there will be lots of conflict and conflict is fun.
