OVERALL
Aiden is exactly what you'd expect the son of Conley Ellis to be. Handsome, charming, clever and cold, though he's not as cruel as the patriarch of his family. His mother's influence made certain of that. His sister, Calida, took his portion of the cruel gene it would seem anyway so all is still right in the world as far as papa Ellis is concerned. Still, the eldest Ellis is hardly what you'd call a softy. As far as he's concerned humans are worthless wastes of space and the sooner they are destroyed the better. For now though he puts up with them out of necessity and to see him interact with them you'd never guess he held such a low view point of them. A handsome face and smooth talking tongue can go a long way to covering up one's true feelings though.

Among the rest of his family he's considered the 'golden son', the one who can do no wrong and whose level everyone else is trying to reach. While he doesn't really care for the title -or the razzing that goes with it- he is rather proud of the fact that he'll one day be at the head of the Ellis Clan. All of his life he's done every single thing his father has asked of him, never questioned the man and doesn't tolerate anyone else who might dare to do so. However, the problem with being the perfect son is just that. You have to be perfect. Mistakes are not tolerated and he works his ass of to make sure he makes none. It's a losing game though because sooner or later he's going to mess up, going to fail. Or so he's constantly being reminded by some of his less than friendly relations. Which only makes him work harder to prove them wrong. And so far so good, but the clock's ticking and he knows it.

Despite how it may seem there are quite a few of his extended family who he gets along with remarkably well, most of them his younger cousins. The much younger ones tend to look upon him as some sort of idol, especially when it comes to his fire taming skills. The only one who can match him (or best him even) is Calan, who even Aiden will admit is something of a prodigy. If there is one thing he'll do anything for it's his family, even the ones he might not get along with so well. Threaten them and you might as well kiss your ass goodbye. The younger ones in particular seeing as they're still just learning the art of fire taming and therefore more vulnerable when it comes to protecting themselves. Darby is quite possibly one of his favorite, yet most frustrating, cousins, mainly due to her lack of ability period. Even with his help she can't do much more than light a spark. Still he has soft spot for her if only because she's the sweetheart of her family.

Being a part of the Ellis family is an honor in itself and something anyone would be fortunate to find themselves a part of no matter what. However, having the distinction of being the first born son to the leader of the clan holds an esteem all its own. From the time he could start talking the boy was almost a spitting image of his father, his mannerisms, attitude even looks. There was certainly no mistaking that Aiden was anything less than Conley Ellis' son. A fact which pleased his proud papa to no end. His mother was a little less thrilled at the similarities between the two and did her best to soften those hard edges ever so slightly, leaving him much less cruel and with more of a heart than his father ever dreamed of possessing.

Two years later the family had a little girl, Calida, and though she had her mother's beauty she was also just like her darling daddy, even more so than Aiden if that was possible. Unlike her brother any attempts by Serafina to change her daughter for the better were futile much to Conley's delight. The siblings got along quite well despite their similar personalities and have always been close, closer than with their younger brother, who was something of an accident so to speak. Asher Ellis was born when Aiden was eleven and Calida was nine and unlike the other two children he took after his mother in almost every way, personality as well as looks. The three siblings got along well enough for the first few years after Asher was born but once he was old enough to start holding his own opinions that's when they started to grow apart.

It wouldn't be correct to say that Aiden hates his brother, but her definitely doesn't understand the boy or his ridiculous views. If it were up to the seventeen year old there wouldn't be any war at all and humans and those of the supernatural world would all just coexist. Obviously that was hardly a popular opinion among the Ellis household and one Asher usually kept to himself but Aiden was well aware of his brother's leanings. Suffice it to say the pair didn't get along all that well. Still when it came right down to it the eldest Ellis would give his life for the kid in a heart beat if he had to. Because, all disagreements and differing viewpoints aside, they were family and if there was one thing Aiden Ellis valued it was them.

And considering how this war is going an opportunity to do just that might arise sooner than anyone wanted to dream it could.
