how did this night become the enemy [/style] [style=width:415px; border-right: 4px solid firebrick;] [style=width: 395px; font-family: arial; text-transform: lowercase; text-align: justify; font-size: 10px; color: white; text-align: justify; padding: 5px;]Most people loved college but still wanted to get out of school as soon as possible so they were able to make something of themselves in the world. Harper was the opposite. She was going to stay in college as long as she possibly could. This was the last year and then she would get her masters, but she wanted to go ahead and get a doctorates. Yes, she wanted to be doctor Harper. It wasn’t the fact she loved school. She actually didn’t like sitting in a classroom. The hands-on classes she thought was a lot better but unfortunately, she still had the ones where she had to take written tests. All the nights of staying up and studying was making her head hurt. Not to mention she was still recovering from the little trip overseas she had made. All of that was worth more years of this. As soon as she got out of college, she was going to get hitched.
Don’t get her wrong- Kaleb was wonderful, but having an arranged marriage really wasn’t what she in mind. It was something she accepted as the family obligation, but as it was drawing closer, she knew more and more how much she didn’t want it. Plus… she… ugh. Her head lowered and planted itself on her unfinished homework. How could she have? After every promise she ever made to herself when she found out what her mother did. Cheater. She was a cheater. Take after her mother, it seemed like. No matter what she tried, it all came down to this and she hated it. What was worse was she actually enjoyed it. She felt as guilty as hell, but she was still thinking about the nights with Nate. The days wandering around the city that was basically a European version of Las Vegas. Cheating shouldn’t have been fun. It shouldn’t have been anything. Damn it. She hated herself. And now she was going to have to face Kaleb every day.
This also made sleep impossible. Or homework. Or school. Or functioning in life. It could have been fresh in her memory type of deal, but she doubted it was just that. Distractions weren’t really her thing either. They didn’t take her mind off of things the way she wanted to. It just temporarily diverted her mind. But it always trailed back. There was always the time where her mind set in place something else. This secret was going to be kept to her grave and so far, she hadn’t seen anything that Nate might have said. He didn’t seem like the type to kiss and tell. He was too…oh she didn’t know. She did know, but she didn’t want to tell herself she knew him as if they had been best friends since they were little. It was nothing. It was nothing at all. Harper was doing that thinking thing instead of her physics again.
Physics. Focus on something that mattered. Something that she still remained good at. All the problems were starting to mix together though. All in this one clumping into one problem that made no sense. The formula should have connected into this part of the problem, but if she connected that one there wasn’t another one for the other to go. None of it canceled out. Oh fuck maybe she really was loosing it. She placed it to the side and looked at the time. Her mood changed a little bit. A bright smile appeared on her face as she saw that the time had indeed flown by. Cameron was going to visit her soon. Visiting someone was a little more difficult but she didn’t want to go home at the moment so she asked him to come there and she’d meet him here. Plus, she was pushing him a little bit more. The typical older sister that she was. Though they were closer than can be.
No matter what mood she was in, it seemed that her little brother could brighten up the day. God, he was so cute. She ended up being more of a mother to him because of the lack of trust in her own. For Harper, it was the same thing. Cameron was simply just lovable. Harper didn’t want anything to happen to him. If it were possible to put him in a giant plastic bubble, she would have. Though she was sure that he wouldn’t appreciate it. The stupid social guy. With a small smile, she grabbed her coat and stuck some converse on with purple glasses. Hipster style today, it seemed like. Typical nerd. Except suddenly all of this was in style. Another annoying little fact of life she had going for her. With a roll of her eyes thinking about it, she strolled out of her dorm room, dodging people left and right before coming out to the place she said she’d meet him. Gripping her coat close to her, she pushed her lips together as she awkwardly looked around for the face she loved to see.

across the universe, images of broken light, which dance before me like a million eyes. they call me on and on across the universe. thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box, they tumble blindly as they make their way.... nothing's gonna change my world, Cam's life had been pretty messy these days, but he couldn't say he didn't like the way things were going. He had moved out of his parental house, moved in with a bunch of other crazy werewolves (as he still thought he was) who were always causing havoc under his lead, because ofcourse with his personality it was more than logical that Cameron had taken up the part of 'alpha male' in their 'pack'. It was all friendly and he wasn't some sort of boss over everyone, but it was sometimes as if his opinion counted most, was heaviest and was mostly obliged. But it wasn't as if what Cam said that happen would happen, ofcourse not. They were all just awesome friends, and friends did not let one person boss them around, nor boss his friends around. And it wasn't like Cameron to be that way. It was his slight cockyness that had crowned him to be the alpha male. Holla. But Cameron was glad to be out of his parental house. He was glad to be free from the strict rules of their family, like his other siblings weren't. It had been a disaster when he had told his parents he was moving out, but in the end, they had agreed with it. How, he still didn't know, but he was glad they had.
It was also a good thing to be away from the crazy feelings he got being around his family. Cameron always felt different, felt weird and weak, and there was something in his mother when she looked at him and he couldn't place, that she did not have when she looked at Harper or any of his other siblings. It was not fair and it was far from comfortable. It was strange to notice you were different. And Cam did notice. All his life he has felt different than the rest of his family. He could experiance their auras and emotions and has more control over his werewolf form than his sisters, parents and other family members. And though he was able to hide it behind his goofiness and pokerface, Cameron has always felt different to his dad than apparantely his sisters did. He always felt different and with that tried to be more goofy, more open to get attention from his parents and to pretend that that was the reason that he was different. But even in an environment away from his family, the hybrid still felt different. He still felt that he was different from his werewolf buddies. And it sucked ass, because Cam did not want to be different. He just wanted to be that normal, slightly crazy dude. And he wasn't.
Whatever his mother was hiding from him, it was something. But Cam decided to push it away as he sat up, unable to stay in bed any longer. And cursed himself as he saw the time. He was supposed to meet up with Harper in about twenty minutes at the campus. And Cam sure as hell was late. Shooting out of his bed like a bullet, Cameron rushed into the clothes he could find quickest; his jeans and a normal black v-neck shirt. Without a cap, the guy could not leave his house, so he grabbed his grey OBEY-cap from his desk and rapidly kicked his feet into his vans, before racing out of his house, not even saying goodbye to his housemates. He lit a cigarette on his way, knowing Harper hated it when he smoked. But well, he could not really care about it. She wasn't his mother.
Though sometimes his eldest sister did feel as if she was his mother. She also acted as if she was his mother at times. When he was younger he had embraced this, because his own mom was a crappy one ninty-nine percent of the time, when he got older, it just got annoying. Cam had been a rebelling teen, against his father and their strict rules, against his mom who did not seem to care enough about him, or could not be around him so much, and then as a last resolve against his sister, who did seem to be a decent parent. There have been times in which Cam listened better to what Harper told him to do then what his parents obeyed him to do. Now however, this feeling of her being his mother had for Cam replaced into her being one of his best friends. He had a much better bond with Harper than he had with Eleyna, his other sister, who was spoiled and always needed attention from everyone, no matter at what cost. And that just really annoyed Cam lately. Plus, he hadn't been able to deal with her crap besides his own.
And with his own, he meant the bitchy little witch Marley Reynolds. She had gone out on a date with him, she was letting him in at times and then suddenly retreated again. He loved her, God beware him if he did, but the hybrid had loved her from their very first meeting onwards. And he could not stop thinking about her. But he did not know how to get through her thick skull that he actually did not care how bitchy she was to him, he'd still be there. He wanted to know who was underneath that defense mechanism of snarky sneers, and sometimes when he caught flashes of it, he fell even harder and more desperately for the dark-skinned girl. And it drove him nuts. Maybe he could talk to Harper about it, if she didn't kill him first for being late. Hurrying onto the campus area, he flashed her an apologetic grin as he arrived at their meeting place, tossing his finished cigarette on the pavement. "Sorry I'm late, Harps, lost track of time." Cam said, still panting to prove him having hurried to meet her. The man, though he looked quite athletic, was far from a sportsman. In fact, he hated sport and any physical exercise. But for his favorite sister he'd do nearly anything. "So, what have you been up to, huh? Please don't tell me you've only been studying." |
The younger brother continued, taking his sister's elbow and pulling her along to get some coffee. He needed some cafeine if he was to survive the day. how did this night become the enemy [/style] [style=width:415px; border-right: 4px solid firebrick;] [style=width: 395px; font-family: arial; text-transform: lowercase; text-align: justify; font-size: 10px; color: white; text-align: justify; padding: 5px;]There wasn’t a lot of secrets she kept from Cameron. Granted, there were some, but she was a typical girl and liked to talk. He always listened and he was so sweet about it. Cameron was easily her best friends. But there were still some things she was taking to her grave. For example, her knowing that this wasn’t her full brother (a weird thing to think about). There had been a couple of occasions where she really considered telling him about it, but she could never bring herself to do it. There was always that look in his eye and she knew that it would fade as soon as she said something. He wasn’t sure if there was a possible way he wouldn’t find out. Cameron wasn’t stupid. The last person to figure this out was probably going to be Elaina, but that was because she was the only one out of it. Harper should have been out of it, but she wasn’t. All these secrets. There was only so many she could keep from Cameron. Should she mention this one? She was never going to see Nate again. She promised herself that. So it shouldn’t have mattered.
She started playing the end of her sleeve when she heard the familiar voice and saw the grin. She could smell the smoke on him, but she was at least glad he stopped it before he got there. Harper had to bite her tongue not to tell him how bad it was for him and how it was horrible for him. If she knew just to extent of how different he was to her, perhaps she would have cared, but all he knew was that he was half werewolf. That was a mortal werewolf. The rest of it was up in the air. There had been no hint that the other man had been an immortal. Or anything besides a werewolf for that matter. Shaking her head, reminding herself that it was easier if she didn’t think about it while he was there, she put both arms around him in a bear hugging squeeze. God she needed it. She had no idea until she had and she broke with an uneven breath out. But a smile was on her face when she looked at him, giving him a light girl punch in the shoulder. ”I’m going to get you a watch for Christmas, and you better enjoy it.” She also didn’t mention if he stopped smoking, he wouldn’t be as out of breath. If he wasn’t going to stop now, Harper’s nagging wasn’t going to do anything. She learned that much from her classmates. College was crazy.
Coffee sounded wonderful. He didn’t even have to say that he was going there. The lead with his arm was enough. Harper was unbelievably smart, but she was no actress. She ducked her head and made almost a shy smile, turning her head back up to him and shook her head, ”No, I’ve been taking awful impossible tests too. It’s going to be worse when I get my doctorate degree.” Thinking about going to school more actually didn’t make her feel very good in the stomach, but the thought of her getting married was worse. So she was going to drown out her school years. At least she would be mature enough. The twenty-four year old didn’t find herself as mature as she should have been sometimes. She enjoyed childish things. Her personality was probably bumped up to superior (unless she drank a red bull, but no one should have blamed her for that one) but her likes and dislikes weren’t very adult-like of her. The weekend showed it.
They walked into the coffee place and she grabbed her wallet from her back pocket. Typical poor college kid, but she could afford giving her and her brother something to drink. She ordered a sweet warm coffee before turning back to the counter to go and look over the entire place. The problem with going on vacation for a week or two- even if nothing had happened- was playing catch up with it. She was still thinking about the unfinished problems she had waiting for her when she got back to the dorm. Her mind was trailing off to some of the tests in her classes that were coming up. Everything that she had missed and all the classes she was now going to have to avoid. Harper needed something, and she didn’t know what. Just something to ease her and relax her. What she wanted was impossible to detect. And she knew it.
Harper looked over at her tall brother. Of course, everyone was tall in the short eye of Harper Way, but his figure gave off that towering perspective. It could have just been her though. Picking up her warm ordered coffee, she clutched to it. Her fingers tingled with the warmth it gave her as she inhaled the scent. Man, she loved that smell. ”And what crazy stunts have you been in lately?” She asked with amusement. So much could have been happening since last time she talked to him. A protective side of her wondered if perhaps he found himself a girl, but she tried not to mention it. The question she hated the most was asking if she had a ‘nice boy at home’. Technically, she did, but she still hated it. If she didn’t, then it was an awkwardly little no and the other person felt just as awkward. Being a bit of an awkward person, she didn’t like making things worse than they were already going to be with her. At least she could respond with a yes. Some people’s curiosity just needed to stick to themselves.

across the universe, images of broken light, which dance before me like a million eyes. they call me on and on across the universe. thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box, they tumble blindly as they make their way.... nothing's gonna change my world, Cameron loved his sister more than he loved anybody else. She was his best friend, his trustee, the one who knew everything about him. Cam did not like secrets and he did not have them for his sister. She even knew (or more or less expected, whatever) that he smoked, he told her all about the girls he liked, if he ever did, in most things he confided in her. Secrets were not his thing, especially not to the people he loved. And liars.. Well the young man couldn't stand liars and backstabbers and people who knew things but never told the person it concerned. He was rather harsh in his judgement about them, but then again, Cameron was temperamental and he had a short fuse that exploded quickly but his angry moods never lasted very long. However if he fell silent that was when you were to worry. But the hybrid never thought he'd ever be that way to his older sister, his best friend. Hell, he probably loved her even more than he loved his own mother. Granted, Hallie Way was a total bitch, especially to him for some reason he did not even understand, but somehow she was always up to get him, sneering at him, telling him he wasn't doing things right. How on earth could he not do things right that should be normal to their race? He was clueless, but then again, Cam didn't know how different he was from his family. How he was not gonna die while they all withered away due to old age. He was not gonna age, he was gonna stop ageing and stay young and beautiful forever. Because ofcourse someone with an ego as big as Cam's thought he was hot. Which he was, obviously. Enough girls had confirmed to him that this was the case, and he had had enough 'photoshoots' to know what was beautiful about a girl. Well, to his view ofcourse.
And his sister, though it was always weird to think about it, was beautiful. Not in a way of 'hey tiger I'm gonna jump at you now', but more in a serene, rather elegant way of pretty. He would really like to make pictures of her one day, but how to mention such thing without sounding like a creep? That was always the problem. And more the problem with Harper was that she scared away the moment she even caught sight of a camera. Which was always hard around him, since the hybrid always carried around his camera. "A watch? You really think that will work?" |
The man asked with a teasing grin, pouting his lips at her as he caressed with his hand over the spot where she had punched him, as if she had hurt him severely. , as if. By now the man had noticed how very few things actually hurt him, even though he wasn't really mr. Muscle guy. Who cares, no one did, and most girls did not even want a hunch of testosterone and preferred a more normal guy, like Cameron, so he did not complain. Not that he had much interest for other girls these days, but that was something else. Something completely else. Marley Reynolds was a mystery to him, and the boy had always liked mysteries, they were fun to solve, to discover and explore, and he was definately gonna explore the mystery of that witch. Cameron shook his head at his younger sister, gently pushing her wallet, he was paying because he was late, obviously, and he did not want her to pay at all. Even if she was older than he was, whatever. "My treat, Harps. Some dude actually bought some of my pictures the other day for his magazine." The hybrid said with twinkling eyes, wobbling his eyebrows at his sister. He had been so excited about that, really. It wasn't really an important magazine like the Vogue or whatever, but they had taken his pictures and he had actually been asked to shoot more for them, so it was quite a start of his career. And that was just what he had been dreaming of. His parents would not be happy if he quitted school for it though, so he wasn't even thinking about that yet. But it just bored him so much these days, school. He couldn't care less about it. Not that he'd say that to Harper, miss total bookworm studyhead. She wouldn't understand. "Harp, college is about having fun. Do you even have time for fun, besides all that nerd behaviour?" The brother said, warily shaking his head at his sibling. He did not mean it in a mean way and he was sure that Harper knew that, after all Cam was a tease. But he was slightly worried about his sister, obviously. She always seemed to be studying. When she asked for his crazy stunts, a sly smile curled up Cameron's lips as he thought of Marley Reynolds once again. Somehow that minx seemed to crawl in his mind whenever, and he couldn't say he disliked it. Okay, so he better admit it, Cam was falling for her. He didn't know how it was possible, but he was. Ofcourse he was, since he had asked her out on a real date. "Crazy stunts? Not so much, really. Just been shooting some, partying with Mason and all. I met a girl.." He trailed a bit longer as he said those words, stretching them out a little bit because he knew Harper's curiousity would get the better of her and the more he could tease her the better. Dropping himself down at their table, the boy took a sip from his coffee, looking at his older sister with twinkling eyes, not continuing whatever he was saying. Just for kicks and giggles.[/div] tag || HARPER/EMILY || words || 970 || outfit || click ! notes || CAM <3

TEMPLATE BY ANYA OF CAUTION 2.0 LYRICS BY THE BEATLES

how did this night become the enemy [/style] [style=width:415px; border-right: 4px solid firebrick;] [style=width: 395px; font-family: arial; text-transform: lowercase; text-align: justify; font-size: 10px; color: white; text-align: justify; padding: 5px;]A knot curled in her stomach. As much as she wanted to rattle off everything that had happened with Adam, she felt really nervous. She wasn’t sure if it was because of the reason he was… created or if it was just her heart throbbing. It could have easily been both. Part of her saw a little bit of why her mother had never brought it up or anything, but the more stubborn and grudging hating part of Harper was blaming it all on her. Like it was in her genes or something. She wasn’t sure how, but somehow this was her mother’s fault. Giving her false hopes of dreams and shinning knight in armor with a perfect happy marriage. Or someone to steal her away like she had dreamed about in fairytales. But of course- that’s all they were, weren’t they? Harper took a deep sigh, feeling a large headache along with this twisting of her stomach. Well now it was just going to have to come out, as Cameron knew her better than anyone else. He would know exactly what was going on.
Harper just laughed lightly. Oh, what was she kidding? A watch would be broken within a week of being on his wrist. For a person who hardly wanted to go outside, she found that everything Cameron did to be such the daredevil crazy stuff. She was sure to his people, what he did was very standard with the stunts that went over the top every once in a while, but to Harper- all of it was nuts. Even the little lesson book for beginners was enough to make her stare in amazement. Just the cool little flips off of the sidewalks and railings. All of that was so dangerous. Harper would prefer to remain on the ground. She tried balancing on her brother’s skateboard once, but it hadn’t worked out quite like she had hoped. ”No, but there’s no way it could possibly hurt.” She huffed, grinning then with satisfaction when he made a face as she hit him. She remembered she used to beat up on her brother all the time when they were little. Their mother would allow it (as it was just an older sister and her little brother, what harm could that be?). Then when they reached the age where Cameron was able to fight back, he was told to take it easy. Harper had gloated on that chance. Teasing each other like that was always a different definitions with werewolves. Although she did have to admit, nothing she did hardly every penetrated him like it would have anyone else.
She knew that he was going to do that, but she still was planning on getting some half. ”But I’m supposed to take you out.” She argued logically. Her face took a big bright look as she looked over at her brother. She could see the pride and excitement all over his face as he mentioned it. Harper had wished she had that kind of creativity, but of course, her mind was more of a machine working at every problem she could. It took her a while to accept photography as a serious job. It was a great hobby and perhaps something that would be a money maker on the side, but when it came to making a living out of it- it was hard. She never argued with him about it though. Just suggested it to him, but she was in no way going to try to downgrade something Cameron was passionate about. She had to accept it was an art form that she would have difficulty understanding though she felt like she could appreciate its beauty. So to hear that he was making a magazine was making all of her doubts before vanish. She should have known. ”That’s wonderful Cam! I’m so proud of you! Just the beginning of a large portfolio, huh?” Her limited imagination did imagine walking in New York and seeing her brother’s photography as ads for some store. He was good. She believed he could get there.
His eyes were twinkling and teasing, but her complexion became paler than she already was. Well she had a little bit too much fun. So much that she ended up cheating and believing that it was going to go somewhere by the end of the day. Huh. Harper was completely bitter with all of it. Him. Herself. Especially herself. What was she doing? Living a fantasy of a sixteen year old girl? She hadn’t really done it at that age, so perhaps this was some weird of re-living all of it. Whatever the reason, she hated it. There was no use for it. Still, she made an attempt to hide it. Or make it a point where she wasn’t lying and ending the matter, but perhaps not now while they had just seen each other. Let the afternoon simmer a little bit. ”Oh come on, when have I ever done anything but that? And I have fun…” She drowned out, thinking about all the ‘nerd’ games that her friends and her played. Whatever, they were exciting. ”And I can’t have that much fun.” Indicating a different kind. In which she would explain. Sometime. That at least was decided in her head.
At the sound of partying, Harper gave a gentle roll of her eyes, but smiling all the same. It wasn’t as if she could blame him. When she went to college for the first couple of months, she went nuts. Like crazy white girl drunk every night. So she understood. It wasn’t her thing to do it all the time. It conflicted with her success too much. As long as it wasn’t doing that to Cam, she could care less. Mason was a nice boy. Amusing. She had met him once or twice. Suddenly, she realized that Cameron would have known exactly what little Harper was wondering. He answered it with such ease that it made her hop a couple of steps, ready to rather fan girl over this or go very protective. Depending what she heard. Harper had the perspective of a nice girl. But she had the perspective of all the girls she loathed in high school. ”A girl?! A girl a girl a girl a girl? Tell me. How much do you like her? Is she pretty?” Times like these she was a giant five year old, but she couldn’t help it. She had to know all of it. It even got her mind temporarily off of… everything else.

across the universe, images of broken light, which dance before me like a million eyes. they call me on and on across the universe. thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box, they tumble blindly as they make their way.... nothing's gonna change my world, when it came to Harper's choices in life, Cameron was wise enough to keep his big mouth shut about it. She was his big sister, he respected her decisions, even if he didn't agree with them. Sure, Wyatt was a cool dude, and he was nice and all, really, but that didn't mean he thought Harper was in love with him. Cameron knew she wasn't, and she was his big sister and he felt like she deserved some love. Cam just hoped he wouldn't have to go the same way, because for now he wasn't willing to let Marley go. But honestly, he didn't think his parents would bother too much about that with him for some reason. He couldn't really explain, it was just how he felt. It always seemed as if his mother was somehow a little bit ashamed of him. Well, more than a little bit. But well, It was just strange okay.
And speaking of strange, there were other things that did not leave his mind. The other night he was just hauling through the forest, he liked to go out there at night, when suddenly he got attacked by a hunter. Well, honestly, he was part of the Way family, so they got attacked more than once, and he could count the times he had been assaulted on five hands or more, but it just really got annoying. Plus, he already wasn't the strongest Way there was around, so yeah that just really sucked. So instead of fighting back, Cam was the one who thought fuck it and ran away. Which he did. The trees rushed besides him as he ran and ran and ran, once again cursing himself for destroying his stamina by smoking. But well, nothing to do about that now.
It did not take long before the hunter caught up with him again. Cameron was stuck, had nowhere to go. He made himself ready for a fight, a fight he wasn't prepared for anyways, when suddenly, the hunter shot a silver bullet in his stomach. Now normally, this was enough to just kill a werewolf right there, with silver, and Cam also sank to his knees, expecting to die right there. He just thought it was rather unfortuante to do so when he had just found love and his life was looking up for a change. But the pain didn't fade and Cam did not die. All he could do was stare at the hunter, who stares back at him, before Cam took a sprint and ran off. Luckily he healed quickly and there wasn't a lot of damage done.
But that didn't mean that he wasn't confused. He was damn confused and had been trying to figure out why he had been so lucky. And he couldn't find the answer. Sure there was an obvious answer surfacing, but he did not want to believe that. Cameron did not believe it. But for now, he told himself to let go off that, and focus on his brother-sister quality time. He really needed that every once in a while and Harp was the best friend he got. In the entire world. He trusted her and knew that she would never lie to him. Ever. He grinned at her reply, shaking his head in amusement. "Oh sister, you really are something sometimes." |
The boy laughed, ruffling with his hand through her hair as they made their way to the coffee shop. Cam shook his head as she said she was supposed to take him out, not the other way around, Instead he just grabbed her wallet and dumped it back in her bag, shaking his finger at her. "No way, Harps, my treat." Cam said, emphasising the 'my' in his sentence. He had something to celebrate and what was a better way than to celebrate with your (rather sceptical) sister? He knew that Harper and his family alike had never really accepted photography as a profession, but he knew if you were good and you could make it big, you could earn a shitload of money. He had gotten the first impression of that when he got the cheque for his series that were bought by the magazine man and then the proposal of salary if he came to work for the magazine. Damn, that was more money than he earned at the ice-cream parlour in a year. Sure, he was not gonna be a big hotshot millionaire (yet, as the arrogant part of his mind considered), but hey, it was still a lot of money. At least, for Cam it was. "Well, I'm hired by the magazine too, so who knows." He said with a grin, winking at his sister as they took their place. The boy chuckled as he saw Harper get all worked up the moment he mentioned Marley. He knew beforehand that this was gonna happen. He knew his sister well enough by now to know how she'd react to things like that. He was too much covered up by his dilemma with the hunter and Marley and the fact that he got hired that Cam (shame on him) really didn't notice the change in Harper's face when he mentioned the fun. He would, though, some other day. That Cam could see auras was something he did not really realize, because he did not think he could. He thought his view was just normal, the way other people also saw it. "Relax, Harper. Her name's Marley, and yes ofcourse she's pretty. She's... different." Cameron said with a smirk by lack of a better description for the feisty witch who had stolen his heart. The boy took a sip from his coffee and looked at his sister, suddenly fully realizing how much he wanted her advice on all of this. Everything that had been happening to him, the strange voices he heard in his head when he touched someone, everything. Maybe she knew what to do. "Harp? Harp, there's something I want to talk to you about.. You see, I had this super strange collision with a hunter the other day and I don't know what to think of it." Cam started, looking her in the eye. He really really hoped that she could help him. how did this night become the enemy [/style] [style=width:415px; border-right: 4px solid firebrick;] [style=width: 395px; font-family: arial; text-transform: lowercase; text-align: justify; font-size: 10px; color: white; text-align: justify; padding: 5px;]The werewolf found in her life that the phrase he just used on her came towards her in a lot. In several different ways. Some of them positive and uplifting just as Cameron had presented to her, squealing as he messed up her hair. Sometimes they were just a shake of the head with a sarcastic bitter tone at the end of it. Harper hadn’t gotten the second one too many times. She was a little too shy to be able to gain proper enemies. There was a chance she could have loathed someone from afar, but she wasn’t sure if that just counted as one-sided. Really, she had only been aware of all the relationship stuff people had a couple of years ago. Before, she had been stuck in her own little world with her perfect friends. Nothing was complicated. They thought of her as strictly friends. Harper thought of them as friends. She was one of the guys without being too… well guyish. The weird awkward girl that was just in the middle of awkward people. Didn’t really have to have a specific gender to it.
It felt like so much in her life had changed over the past couple of years than anyone might have had in a lifetime. Between her just changing her appearance and maturity, she had gotten engaged to a man she never met, cheated on him, changed majors about five times, and so much more. It made her mind boggle. If Harper would be able to have the ability to make decisions, she would embrace it with all her might. The girl might have been a quality leader if she had that ability. For now, she was just a better person at following directions and nodding silently, not wanting to say anything else. It was how she generally handled life. Just going around and nodding in obedience. Don’t take her wrong- she was no one’s doormat, but if it was something acceptable to her, she’d do it. She had that drive in her to do what the authority asked her to. Rule follower. Rules were nice. People should have followed them more often. Although, she was also known to break them herself. Especially now.
Harper needed to get it so far from her mind she wouldn’t consider thinking about it anymore. It was this pulsing nagging person on her shoulder whispering the thoughts to her all the time. The extreme guilt was wearing her down on top of the rest of the aspects in her life. Part of her really did want to let it out and spill it all to Cameron, but another part of her wondered if it would be better to just move along the lines and not say anything. It wasn’t as if she was pregnant. Trust her- she checked. She’d probably check more by the time was up. ”I’m a wonderful something though, right?” She grinned, more of showing her teeth than an actual grin, trying to appear cute but knowing she probably looked similar to when she had braces. She had always smiled like that when she had braces. It cut her gums less. After she got them off, it took a little bit not to get her to show a square smile.
The college student looked at her wallet, knowing how truly empty that was (not wanting to borrow too much from her parents considering her relationship with them). Most people would have probably fought over who paid, but Harper knew better. Of the two of them, Cameron was going to win this fight in the end. She didn’t have to go through the whole thing to figure that out. Crossing her arms, she warned him, ”Fine. But I am going to get the next one or I’ll tie your hands together. Where would you be then? Couldn’t do all those killer moves.” Actually, he probably could. She didn’t know how much arm movement had to do with landing properly and all that jazz. It probably had to do with balance though. What did she know? The only things she knew were based off of science, and scientifically, that theory just made sense. She also defied physics a little bit. Supernatural creatures didn’t exact apply to all the rules. Kind of like how bees shouldn’t have been able to fly.
Hired?! That meant an actual stable job! Harper was going to have to seriously take back whatever thing she said about photography. Though she couldn’t think of any at the top of her head, so she just smiled instead, clapping excitedly. The clapping just intensified when he mentioned a girl. While she was excited and fangirling, there was another little part of her that was loading the gun. If Harper would ever dream to use something like a gun. The girl was very protective. Though very happy that someone as wonderful as Cameron would have someone at her side. Okay, Marley. Pretty. Good so far. However, there was a pause and her face turned skeptical. She perched her eyebrow, eyeing her brother carefully, ”Different? How many nose piercings does she have?” Not that Harper judged on that note… mostly. She could deal with most things different about others, but there was a line.
Harper took a large gulp from her coffee, never knowing how to drink the damn drink properly when her name was called a couple of times. Sounded… serious. The redhead looked at Cameron, keeping a straight face and slightly preparing herself. At the sound of a hunter, she took a deep rush of nervous air. Ways were a fun little target for most hunters. Worry suddenly prickled at her although her brother was sitting in front of her in one piece, ”A hunter?! Dear god, you’re luck you aren’t dead! Where was your pack?!” Though Harper knew about the affair, she had no idea how the genes transferred. Most of the time, it just went towards one species considering genes didn’t like to mix-match into hybrids. So as far as Harper knew, Cameron was as much of a werewolf as she was.

across the universe, images of broken light, which dance before me like a million eyes. they call me on and on across the universe. thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box, they tumble blindly as they make their way.... nothing's gonna change my world, Sometimes Cameron looked at his sister and wished she more often spoke her mind, especially to their parents. He felt lucky that his parents often didn't bother too much with him, since he was the weakling and yet somehow also the lucky bastard that never got hurt. Yes, Cameron had his luck, luck that his parents did not try to force their will on him, luck to have found that one girl who could move him like nobody else, luck to have a supportive sister like Harper, luck to have found his dream job, luck to pass his studies and exams without much effort, luck that he didn't die when the hunter shot him, in fact, Cameron just was one hell of a lucky bastard and he knew it. Okay, maybe half of it was because the hybrid did speak his mind, because he said no to things he didn't want and really didn't do them. Maybe his parents didn't bother with him because everything seemed to go great, which the truth actually. Sure, they probably wouldn't approve of Marley, but to Cam that didn't count, since he was the one in love, and he wasn't about to let them decide who he wanted to love and be with.
And sometimes he wished that Harper wouldn't let them do that either. Sure, Wyatt was part of his pack, and he really wasn't a bad guy, he would be good for Harper, but they weren't in love and they probably would never fall in love. Maybe if they were lucky they'd be pals for the rest of their life, companions who told each other everything, and otherwise it would just be lonely. Loveless. And Cam did not want that for his sister nor for his Alpha. They both deserved something more than that. Cam had never believed in love, not truly, nor had he actually paid enough attention to girls to fall in love. He just had never found that one girl who could truly capture him, enthrall him, until that feisty witch. He really couldn't explain what it was about her, but she had him. She completely and totally had him, and he did not even mind it. Girls had often accused the hybrid of being 'afraid of commitments', but that really wasn't it. He just got bored easily, and girls couldn't keep up with him. But this one, oh, she definitely could. Without a doubt.
In Cameron's mind, he always told his big sister everything and he thought that feeling was mutual. He didn't know how wrong he was, and maybe he'd find out soon, but until that moment, the boy believed unconditionally that Harper and him told each other everything. Apart from that he already had the strongest faith in his big sister, and he trusted her more than anybody. She was his trustee and his voice of reason, the one who often was right and sometimes was wrong, like with his photography. He grinned when she let out a squeak as he ruffled through her hair, the boyish features on his face expressing utter amusement. That reaction, that was the exact thing he was going for. "Definitely a wonderful something, though I can't say that too much, you might get cocky." |
The boy said with a grin, playfully nudging her with his elbow. They always had this teasing banter back and forth, though Cameron was undoubtedly better at it than Harper, but she kept up with it reasonably well, given the fact that he was the prankster of the family. The boy rolled his eyes at his sister at her comment about the paying, but at least she subdued. "Harp, let's not fool ourselves, as long as I have more money than you do, I will pay. And you haven't seen my pay scrolls yet." The boy said with wobbling eyebrows, grinning because of what she said about his moves. He was right though, Cameron's photographing career was going well. He was triumphant because he knew his family (and especially his dad and Harper) had been very skeptical about Cameron pursuing his passion as a career, and the only reason he still was in college was because his dad had thought that his son needed at least a decent education and a diploma so he could fall back onto something. And secretly Gavin had probably hoped his son would let go off this madness and pursue a normal, 8-to-5 job, but that wasn't really happening. Cam didn't like to stay seated in an office the entire day, locked up doing boring stuff. He wanted to be out there and travel, explore and experience things and feel like he was still young. He didn't like college but he was intelligent so he flew through it anyways. He loved his family, sure, but they should give him the freedom to do what he wanted and now he had to prove that things were going well. Which they were, really. Cam had an eye for the perfect angle, the perfect lighting, or maybe he was just lucky, but he never made a 'less than gorgeous' picture, as his boss/manager described it. For him it was like capturing a part of someone or something's soul and being able to look right through it, if you only looked closely enough. The boy again chuckled when Harper gave him a suspicious glance when he told her Marley was different, questioning how many piercings she had. "Chill Harps, she's not different like that. It's just.. the first time I met her, she really wasn't nice to me at all. In fact, she was a raging bitch. But I had a picture of her, and she looked so different than what she had shown me. So I don't know why, but I got interested. And the longer I held on, the more layers that vanished and the more I actually fell in love with her. It is really strange, since bitchy is really not my color, but she's amazing. And I wish other people got to see her the way I see her." Cameron said, feeling like that had become too much of a speech, but he really felt that way. He wished more people got to see the sweet Marley, who was sassy, but not cold, and actually really amusing. She was lacking so much in the confidence-department and it really wasn't necessary. "A hunter?! Dear god, you’re luck you aren’t dead! Where was your pack?!"See, she stated it just right, he was lucky that he wasn't dead, but he should have been dead. Cameron saw himself get hit by a silver bullet, he wasn't even in his werewolf form, but he saw it. He felt it even, and he got it out of his stomach later by himself too, so he had proof that he had been shot in the stomach by a silver bullet. Enough to kill a werewolf. And yet he didn't die. Why didn't he die, what had happened? Touching the bullet had still hurt, a lot in fact, and it felt like his fingers were burning when he touched it, but yet no death for him. His head was spinning and he didn't know what to think of it. "I was just going for a stroll when this hunter got after me, they were not around. But that's the thing Harper, I should have died. The bastard shot me in the stomach with a silver bullet and I fucking didn't die? And I'm so confused and I don't know what happened, and I constantly hear voices of people in my head like I can hear what they're thinking, and see these strange colors around people which i thought was normal, but apparently it's not, and what is happening to me, Harp? I just don't get it." Cameron realized he was rambling but he was so confused. He wanted to know what was going on, he wanted to know why he didn't die like any regular werewolf would. He wanted to finally know what it was that made him so different from the rest of them.[/div] tag || HARPER/EMILY || words || 1354 || outfit || click ! notes || ASDFGHJKLKJHGFDSA

TEMPLATE BY ANYA OF CAUTION 2.0 LYRICS BY THE BEATLES
