It was 1980, and North Korea was facing a downward spiral predicted by a friendly witch of the Silla family (descendents of the major Silla dynasty over 1,000 years ago). Ji-Hee was a centuries old vampire, and had seen the rises and falls of the North Korean empire, when her family's dynasty ended in the 900s, she fled and then met her husband of over 300 years, Jung. The two were mates and stayed together, soon around 1600 giving birth to So-Yun, their first daughter. They adored their daughter, they doted on her and raised her to be a proper woman and wife. Silla attempted to maintain her status, and had to do so by also marrying So-Yun to a wealthy man's son who promised them fortune if So-Yun married his son. She reluctantly did for her family's sake, and her younger brother's sake. Bae was born in 1698, a few years after So-Yun married her first husband. Bae was raised a fighter and a warrior and in 1715, he entered the North Korean army, there, he was happy and got paid decently well, sending money home to his parents. Sure they were able to save money because they didn't buy food, but they did have to become friends with some people to live. These people called the Kyong, were good, honest people, and became servants to the Silla family.
So-Yun's husband began to get suspicious of his wife, she wasn't aging like he was. Though she promised him it was because she just had good genes, he then summoned Jung and Ji-Hee to his estate and realized they didn't seem to age. This, being his first experience with the supernatural called them witches, but So-Yun soon ended up having to kill her husband, draining him of blood and telling people, covering herself in his blood, that he had been attacked by a madman. The hunt continued for years, and So-Yun maintained her power, moving her parents and Bae in the estate with her. When the 1900s came around, Ji-Hee and Jung began to feel more tense. They were mates, but the North Korean politics were driving Jung mad. He soon left Ji-Hee, and though she was devastated, Bae and So-Yun helped her with overcoming the loss. It was in 1984 when Ji-Hee slept with another vampire on a one-night stand, she found out she was pregnant with Mi Sun, her third child, and second daughter. Mi Sun was groomed by her mother and older sister to be a woman, but a fighter. They knew there were harsh times for North Korea, and therefore when the 1990s famine hit North Korea, Ji-Hee, Bae, So-Yun and the then teenaged Mi Sun fled to South Korea with many others.
Mi Sun remained close to her mom, keeping her close and caring for her. Sure she was a vampire, but she was starving herself intentionally so that their human slaves, the Kyong family could survive. Mi Sun and her older siblings remained alive by feeding off others, and that's when Mi Sun's baby brother, Dae-Hyun was found and adopted. His mother had been shot when crossing the border and he was near death. Ji-Hee fed him and cared for him, raising him to believe he was her son. Mi Sun never knew her father, but Ji-Hee told her that he was in South Korea, waiting for her and her siblings. Mi Sun, the level-headed one of the foursome, continued on, carrying Dae-Hyun, till one day their mother collapsed. She couldn't go on anymore and had died, telling her children to thrive and carry on the Silla name through history.
Mi Sun, shattered, told her siblings they had to continue, and they took turns holding Dae-Hyun, wanting him to become familiar with all of them. Finally arriving in Seoul, South Korea, Mi Sun's biological father, Hin-Jung adopted them and took them in. Mi Sun, though having grown up to be a woman, remained strong for her baby brother, though just 9 at the time, took her turns holding her baby brother till arriving in Seoul. There, Hin-Jung employed So-Yun and Bae in his estate as helpers, and So-Yun as his personal assistant, while Mi Sun really just continued her schooling, and Hin-Jung's fiancee took care of Dae-Hyun. Mi Sun, nuturing her baby brother, taught him how to walk and speak. She adored her baby brother, and as she got older, So-Yun and Bae began to have their own lives, while she remained with Hin-Jung, who while his fiancee traveled a lot as an Ambassador's personal assistant, began to make moves on the 16-year-old. Needless to say, Mi Sun let it go once, but when he came into her room one night to have his way with her, he never saw the light of day again. They found him in his room the next day, drained of blood, and Mi Sun and Dae-Hyun moved with his fiancee to another side of Seoul.
Mi Sun was about 18 when she decided to move on her own. This was her true 18th birthday, and Dae-Hyun, then 15, begged to come with her, but Hin-Jung's fiancee, Sun-Jee was happy to keep him as her own son. Mi Sun promised she'd stay in touch, as she had been offered a job working while attending school part-time in a place called California. Getting her Visa and everything, Sun, as she's usually called to help people with her name, or Mia sometimes, got her Visa and graduated college with a Ph.D. in medicine. It was when she caught wind of Manuka she decided to move here. Appearing as a 20-year-old when she was really 28 didn't matter much, she has gotten her IDs and everything, and maintains a pretty low profile except when she's working. The local children's hospital employed her as a Resident and has recently become a young Pediatrician there. She was young, but she started the right time as a doctor, 28 or 29ish. Mia goes by this since when she's introduced as Mi Sun, most people giving her questioning looks, as she aware about the current...issues with North Korea and South Korea, where she's come.
Nevertheless, Mi Sun lives and breathes her work as a pediatrician. She isn't worried about love and forever, she has forever to life, why worry about something that could be so...temporary?

I've never been one to look back on the past. I don't like my past and I don't like to think about it. Sure, it's made me who I am, but otherwise, I loathe the disasters I've seen, I've seen my mother die. I've seen countless, good people perish because they didn't eat. My...well I call them my good, best friends, Kyong family still survives, my...human blood bank I call them. Well now their last name is like...Erickson or something, but that's because they're human, not like me, I don't need to worry about dying, unless of course someone stakes me, but most of the time they miss. I'm surprised by the amount of hunters who don't know where the heart is! Either way umm...well I'm going to go into politics a bit because of this election year. Ridiculous in my opinion, but either way, I'm an independent, I like republican views and liberal views. Either way, I hate the labels and people need to get over it, especially with religion. Isn't that the whole thing, that religion and state should be separated? That's what I learned when I first came to this country to get my citizenship. Which, by the way sweeties, I have! Yay!
Right, I guess you can say I'm...bubbly? Perky? Whatever you wanna call it, I'm optimistic needless to say, which is probably another reason why I'm good with kids. I get along with them well, both supernatural and human children. It's only when they bleed or there's blood involved I usually ask another pediatrician to help them. I can control my bloodlust, don't get me wrong, but sometimes it's nice not to have to worry about it, therefore most of the time kids come in just for shots and broken bones - very rarely something with blood - unless it's a bloody nose, then I usually let them settle down with a napkin then return once they're done bleeding out. Let's see....I'm loyal and...outgoing. Yes! I make friends pretty easily, though I'm terrible at keeping them. I haven't grasped that I need to...interact with people after I befriend them, so I lose contact pretty easily, but upon meeting them for the first time and maybe if they stay in contact with me we can become pretty good friends. Oh, and yes if you're wondering, I have guy and girl friends. I shoot guns, play with swords (I inherited them, so they're mine) and...I shop. Good lord, don't get me near any stores, or else I will shop and spend my entire paycheck, which is pretty large, but please, don't do that to me or yourself. Haha. Umm...but yeah, I like people, but it's just...I'm terrible at keeping my friends, except my....human blood bank. I'm in search of another one. They'll be the one I feed off of instead of the blood bags, keeps me sane, and in exchange for...whatever. I can protect them I suppose, even though I'm only 5'5", people underestimate me, probably because I'm tiny. Oh well, yeah I mean...what else do you wanna know? Just...call me.
