Benjamin is a very sort of cool and collected person, he will rarely show what he is feeling on the outside and more likely than not shall hide it behind a charming smile and flirty words. He is a man who doesn't quite know what it's like to be alone, yet he feels it everyday. Living in a community that he does has its ups and downs, and Benjamin isn't afraid to sometimes voice the fact that he doesn't quite like what he is doing as it's all getting the same, monotonous and boring. The same old tricks everyday; you become an expert then you become bored. Benji loves his fire though, he appreciates the latent that he has been gifted with and does like putting on a show, especially when it's dark and night time, and the fire just stands out against the blackness on the night, and then he feels special. That is something that he enjoys, being someone who is talented and can do what not many others can. Sure, there are other firetamers, but few can control fire as professionally as he, he works for a circus!

Benji is a kind of a con artist when you look at it, as when he performs he usually includes active parts to include the audience, and he knows how to steal without getting caught. He may have this tough outer persona, and may seem like someone who is just an easy going guy with no worries in the world, but really his mind is just so over active. He hates books, could never stand them, and the modern technology he wouldn't even dream of knowing how to use, as in the circus in which he performed is just not somewhere where you have time for that sort of nonsense. Sometimes he wished that he could have more freedom, to explore the world without the community in which he grew up in. Not to be spiteful of course, but he wondered if life would be different if he hadn't been given away. He doesn't hate his parents for it, but the one thing he desires is to ask them if they ever regretted it, if they had ever wanted him back, but he doesn't even know where any of them live.

Benjamin is a real mix of aspects of personalities. He doesn't like crowds as he prefers to be alone a lot of the time. He is very determined and trains very hard; even when he gets something wrong he tries even harder. Benji is a natural flirt, if he see's a beautiful woman he will tell her, but he is also afraid of settling down, he feels like he could never be a good father to his children because of what his parents did to him; he feels like it's in his blood to fail on that front. He can feel really sad some times, and hide that with a mask of charm and allure. He spends a lot of his time thinking about the child he lost, and he regrets that, but that makes him work even harder. To take him mind off what can't be undone. He is not the kind of person so hold grudges, he wouldn't be after you begging for blood to be spilled if you did him wrong, but he can get quite angry and passionate when he is forced to be by the people around him.

Benjamin's childhood was kind of a blur. He had only been with his birth parents for five years before he was given away due to a lack of money. He doesn't remember this of course, but his family had always been a poor firetamer family. His mother was Indian and his father Brazilian, and they both account for his darker skin tone and the blue eyes. He wasn't alone though, when he was five, his younger sister Aria was born, and that was when the money got even tighter. By that time, Benji had been working on the fields for the neighbours, helping them collect crops some of which they would donate to the Cane's, and he would get paid a tiny amount for his job. His parents had figured that he would get the sympathy vote as he was so little, and already so hard working that they would feel sorry for him and wouldn't fire him.

Then there was a one night only free show of 'Cirque du Mort' in Brazil, and because the Cane's had barely nothing, a free show sounded more than spectacular. So they went, the kids and all, to see the circus for the first time in their lives, and needless to say that Ben's mother and father were astounded, delighted. They were so fixated on the show, that they didn't notice when Ben jumped off of his fathers lap and made his way out of the large tent, only to be caught by one of the performers for being in the wrong place. They were all practicing, and Ben really wanted to be cool, he wanted people to be in awe of him too, so he showed them his fire. He played with it in front of them, making more intricate designs than they had ever seen, even as a five year old, Benjamin was a talented firetamer, and the Circus knew that they wanted him.

His parent's came searching for him of course, and the head of the Circus brought them over to where Ben was. They asked them about their lives, and they admitted to be struggling. Dominic had figured as much though, and the next thing Arthur and Shruti knew, they were proposed an offer they could not refuse. Ben had never known why they did it, why they accepted it and made him stay with the people that he was just having fun with for five minute. As they left, he had run after them, tears in his eyes, screaming not to leave him, but they didn't even turn back. That was the main event that Benji remembered in his life, he hadn't wanted to stay, he hadn't understood why he had to stay. However, he hadn't had much choice. So he got used to it, training as much as all the other performers in the circus, sometimes even harder than them because he felt like he had to catch up to them, especially as he had entered his teenage years.

Benjamin grew quickly accustomed to what had happened to him, and since five, he had put on amazing shows. The Circus wasn't rich either, and he made his fortune by flirting with women and stealing anything off their person sneakily. Benji had had sexual interactions with a few women in his life, the most important being Sonya who he had sex with and gotten pregnant. He hadn't known about the baby until he saw her when they were performing in Venice, and then she confessed that it was his. The next time he saw her was when she came crying to him that she had lost the baby. Then she left, and Benjamin never saw her again. He was gut wretchedly broken for so long, his shows had gone downhill, before he was told to pull it together and not to let the circus down. Which he did obediently, as it was the only thing he could do anymore to occupy him from his thoughts. Now, the Circus is in Manuka, and who knows how long they'll be staying before moving on.
