OVERALL

Not much is known about Anthony. He keeps to himself. In a sense, he's a complex mystery. Introverted and reserved, you won't find him drawing attention to himself or basking in the limelight. It's not that he doesn't like company, he's just perfectly content by himself. He hardly says much, and when he does, it's usually only because he finds it meaningful or needed. He may come across arrogant or aloof to others, and sometimes this perception is partially true, but in all truth, he just expresses himself differently than what most people would expect to be the norm.

Honestly, the only reasons why he's even made friends is because they initiated contact or were stubborn enough to get to know him. Some were made by just awkward, coincidental accidents, and then they somehow worked themselves out afterwards. Ironically, if he likes it or not, people tend to gravitate towards him.. like a cat honing in on a person that's allergic to it. They have to investigate, it's too tempting for them not to.

Beyond the initial barrier, there is a deeper, soft side that exists with this man. He's sensitive and thoughtful, even romantic. He often cares about people more than they realize. Expressive and involved, he is never half-hearted with his affections. It's difficult for him to forget important dates, details, or special information about people, as his memory is sharp, much like his mind.

The response of a counselor to an interviewer:
"Anthony doesn't speak much of his past. He lives in the moment, for the moment. Although, I'm aware of his recent movements and happenings. He came here from a similar city around two years ago, and he was incredibly reserved towards people in public places. It was obvious that his shyness was a hindrance on his daily life. Maybe shyness isn't the appropriate word for him. For instance, when he went to the supermarket, he would hardly make eye contact or speak a word. It's true that he's not the most talkative guy now, but back then it was extreme.

After he became more comfortable with me, he did expose a few things about himself and his personal life beyond Manuka -- that he was a different person at one time, and that this was his new life if he liked it or not. Whatever that meant. I was intrigued, but I also didn't want to pry, in fear of what I might learn. He eventually ended up telling me in a later session, but I'm not permitted to say what it was. I'm already breaching my contract by revealing what I've said so far and I feel guilty for it. So don't push me. He may be my client, but I care about him on a personal level as well.

I do know that it has taken him great courage to come to someone like me. I'm just a complete stranger to him.. but with a license. I'm proud of him, he's made great progress. I was also surprised to find the level of intelligence he has. He doesn't say much and could just as easily be mistaken by someone dull, but really he's not. He's gifted. .. That's all I'm going to say. The bottom line is that he's a man of integrity, and you don't have any right coming around here asking those kind of questions. If I were him I wouldn't want random people following me around trying to get my life story either. That's all I'm going to tell you. Thanks for the money, it will be put to good use."
