Ah the rogue of the Scottish highlands, the black lion of the battlefield, laird of castle MacKeltar, I present to you, Drustan Alastair MacKeltar, conqueror on the battlefield as well as in the bedroom. He is a powerful man, born in the 1500s and trained from a young age to be a warrior. If anything, Drustan is confident. He is one of those people who radiates confidence like fire radiates heat. He’s practically impossible to defeat in battle and has yet to meet a woman who can say no to him. He can be a gentleman and an impossibly sweet charmer in order to get what he wants, but deep down, he is a warrior who needs to be in control. He has a faint Scottish accent that slips out from time to time. Despite for growing up in the sixteenth century, he has an immense respect for women, especially witches, due to a little incident. He loves them and when it comes to a relationship, he will always do his best to full-fill his wife, especially in bed. The one thing he will not allow himself though is to fall asleep. As soon as he begins to think he might to be gaining feelings for a woman, he will remove her from his life and get away from her as fast as he can. Not very warrior-ly, now is that? But since he is immortal, he cannot bear to see another person he loves age and die before his eyes. This has often given him the description of being a heartbreaker, as he is quite known for leaving a trail of love-besotted women in his path.

Drustan has recently given up trying to tell people that his name is Drustan and not Dustan so he has started to just kind of not care. Many people call him Dustan and some even call him Justin. He has kind of gotten to the point where he does not care as long as people know what his actual name is and who they are dealing with. He is incredibly good with a sword and many good warriors have fallen on his blade. He enjoys war and fighting as it gives him a sense of an almost god-like power over other people. He has a soft spot for horses and loves to go horseback-riding and being in the outdoors. He dislikes when people are all stuck-up and get upset about the slightest bit of dirt. In fact, there are many things about this day and age which he dislikes. He finds technology and modern transportation to be only for the lazy and disgusting how people are polluting the environment. He also hates the drugs that people have invented and how people get high on this stuff that ends up killing them just to live in a life of delusions that is happier than their current life. He believes in facing the world, and problems, head on and not hiding from fears - making him a bit of a hypocrite since he’s fleeing from love.

Unfortunately, Drustan feels an attachment to the past. He broods a lot about what he once had and what he could have had... He often curses the day he was tricked into giving up his soul to safe someone he loved and who he thought loved him back only to end up being stabbed in the back as she left him for someone else.

On a beautiful day in Scotland, Drustan was born into wealth and status at the MacKeltar castle to Lillian and Alastair MacKeltar. He was raised to be a warrior and showed great promise as a future laird to the castle. His family owned a large portion of Scotland and so he was also trained in how to rule his people and how to behave properly under certain situations. Knowing that he was to be the next laird of castle MacKeltar made him a bit... over confident, and he was not known to be the kindest man. He was a heartbreaker even back then, using women for nothing but sex and throwing them aside when he was done. One thing was for certain though, he refused to ever rape a woman. If she said no, he wouldn’t touch her... But that didn’t mean he wouldn’t lie to her and say sweet things he didn’t mean to get her to lift her skirts. He was even something of an ass in his younger teenage days. But one day, he met Gwendolyn MacLean, the daughter of a neighboring laird. He fell in love with the fiery strawberry blonde almost instantly, drawn to her energy and innocence like a moth to the flame. She was the first woman to ever say no to him, at least for a time... And that seemed to make him want her even more. But it wasn’t just that. He really loved her. She made him feel amazing... But she never returned his feelings. Gwen had an intense hate for all men like Drustan and was intent on ruining his life. One night, she attempted to kill him by hiring an assassin, allowing him access to Drustan’s bedchambers as he slept. Unfortunately for her, Drustan awoke and put up a fight. Gwen hid behind the assassin, a man she had seduced into doing her bidding.

Drustan, unaware that the woman he loved was behind the man, drove his sword through the assassin’s heart... skewering Gwen by accident in the process as well. Thinking that the assassin had been trying to kidnap Gwen and that this was all his fault, Drustan was horrified with himself. He prayed to anyone who might be listen as he lay knelt before his love, saying he would do anything if only Gwen would be brought back to life. The devil, hearing his plea, offered him a deal, his soul for Gwen’s. Drustan agreed, willing to do anything for his love. Gwen was returned to him, just as the devil had promised... But what he should have asked for was that she loved him... because Gwen hated him more than ever for killing her lover... and Drustan picked up on this quite quickly with his new ability to read minds. And once he did, he was devastated. The one woman he had come to love hated him and had wanted to kill him... In a blind rage, he had Gwen chained up in prison and a few months later hanged for attempted murder, unable to stand the thought of her with anyone else but him... and since he couldn’t have her, no one could. He regretted killing her almost instantly after the incident and swore never to love again. Drustan had not really thought about the consequences of giving up his soul at the time... so set on saving Gwen... But after her evident betrayal, he began to think over the decision he had made... And instantly became furious with himself. He watched as the years passed and as his mother and father passed away and then his little sister, the last cursing him for being a demon for not aging and dying before her.

Losing all of the people he loved drove him to be even more careful to keep his heart sheltered from everyone around him, even from friends. It drove him mad for a while, having even his best friends die before his eyes. During this madness, he came across a certain witch by the name of Cassidy. The witch very quickly got mad at him for trying to hit on her and slapped him. This somehow led to a friendship between the two and after Drustan spoke to her about his troubles over some whiskey, the witch offered her sympathies. As time passed, Drustan grew attached to the witch, enjoying her company as she understood what it meant to be shunned by society. Unfortunately, she belonged to a very powerful witch family... which Drustan did not know about. So when he ended up in bed with the witch and woke up 300 years later, asleep at the bottom a cave, he was incredibly surprised. It turned out the young witch’s family had placed a curse on her that whoever stole her virginity would be put into an eternal sleep, only to be broken when the last member of the family was killed, expecting this to be... well... never. But they had the misfortune of being hunted down and killed by some insane priests from the Catholic church. Waking up in the 1900s, Drustan has had time now to adapt to modern times, but has yet to find a liking for it. He has many issues with the way things are run and often wishes that the world was more like his time, where wilderness was everywhere and not smog and all these sky-scrapers and noisy cars.
