It was obvious the mermaid was thinking about something. She didn’t show it on her face or in her body language, but Caden had come to realize that when Sara was silent, she was typically contemplating something. She wasn’t one to just be quiet; her mind constantly working through something and just going into overtime when she wasn’t speaking. He saw her shiver and he desperately wished he knew what was on her mind. Cade knew it was something he wished for often, but he was truly curious, always wanting to know how her mind was interpreting different things. Whatever was on her mind now though was causing her stress, apparent from the shiver, and wanting to know what Sara was thinking was no longer for solely selfish reasons (though it’d be lying to say that those weren’t still included). If he knew, he could put her mind to rest because he was afraid she might be taking a situation and thinking about it in the worst way possible. It was how the brain tended to work. It took something, thought of all the things that could go wrong – even highly outlandish circumstances – and caused the thinker to obsess over those highly unlikely possibilities. Though knowing what they were discussing now, it was very likely that whatever Sara was thinking was highly relevant. Either way, Cade wanted to reassure her in the worst sort of way.
There she was, apologizing again. When would the blonde realize that she was not at blame here, for anything? It was his fault for being what he was, for making things more difficult than they had to be. Because he couldn’t just be a normal human. Because destiny had some messed up plan for him and it just enjoyed sitting back and watching the show. The next statement out of Sara’s mouth scared the fallen angel. She wanted to give everything else up to be like him. It was no different than what she had been saying all along, except for the fact that she hadn’t said specifically that. It had all been hinting that she wanted to be immortal but she was more of beating around the bush, saying why she wanted to be without directly stating that she wanted to. The notion of him being so important to the mermaid to make her want to give up everything just to be with him was slightly frightening. It meant that Cade was horribly important to her like she was to him and that he’d have a lot riding on his shoulders. Not that he’d mind the burden because he’d do anything for Sara, but it was slightly nerve wracking thinking that he couldn’t make mistakes and couldn’t pull stupid stunts like he had. What had even been going through his mind when he left? It was the perfect example of his immaturity, the fact that he had run away instead of staying and trying to work things out. “I’m just so afraid of you giving up who you are,” the fallen said, barely above a whisper once Sara laid her head on his chest and he lightly rested her chin on top of it. Not only would she lose the other important people in her life – people who Caden thought had a huge impact on what type of person you were – but she’d also lose the person she could become. There obviously hadn’t been extensive research on any supernatural species, seeing as how humans didn’t know about them and they controlled a majority of the resources to be able to conduct such studies, but Cade was pretty sure that once you were immortal, everything stopped aging. Including his brain.
He had the mindset of a twenty two year old. All his problems were run through that filter, given the perspective of a young adult instead of the old man he actually was. The same thing would happen with Sara, he was sure of it. She would always think like the young woman she was now, no matter what she experienced in her elongated life time. What kind of person would Sara become, after he stunted her brain maturity? Caden knew she wanted children; it was something they had talked about before. Plans for the future and whatnot. But that was what they’d always remain as – plans for the future. When Cade was alive and human, he had known that he would want kids someday, but in the future and not at that point and time. He’d been alive for seventy some years since that thought had entered his head, and it had always been categorized under the category “for the future”. The blonde didn’t feel mature enough to raise kids and had decided that he never would. It was basically like being suspended in the same mindset he had had when he died, the only difference was the world around him. What other plans did Sara have that would be interrupted and potentially never fulfilled because he had taken the possibility away from her?
Sara tightened her grip on him and Caden heard her sigh. What was she thinking now? He returned the squeeze, wondering how much closer they could possibly get. The mermaid asked what she had to do to prove herself and Cade felt instantly saddened. “Sara, I don’t doubt you. Please don’t think that.” He believed that she was being a hundred percent sincere and there was never a moment of uncertainty. The fallen angel was beginning to feel himself giving up on this argument, knowing that Sara was ultimately going to do what she wanted no matter what his opinion was. She was stubborn, even if she didn’t always make the trait known. And it’d be better in the long run, easier even, if Cade was there with her every step of the way. The only problem was that he was slightly stubborn too, and while part of him was saying he should just give in, there was a small part that told him to stick with his original beliefs. “What did your parents say about your decision?” he asked, knowing that that was his last line of defense. Though he had yet to meet them, Caden wanted to make sure that this whole stunt was approved by them, too. He had been raised to follow the parents’ wishes, even though that ideology was starting to become outdated when he was proper dating age. Cade couldn’t imagine that they had all that kind of an opinion of him right now, not after what he had done to Sara. The blonde highly doubted they would favor the idea of their daughter spending eternity with him after the jerk he’d been. He wasn’t even entirely sure how Sara had convinced them of letting her come all the way out to Italy to find him when he hadn’t even been considerate enough to stay behind and offer her an explanation before taking off. But if her parents approved by some miracle, then Cade was all out of reasons, seeing as how Sara had successfully negated all of them. They’d go find Antonia.

i'd give up forever to touch you 'cause i know that you feel me somehow Snuggling herself into Cade's arms, the blonde sighed softly as she closed her emerald eyes, imagining herself and Cade going somewhere nice. Somewhere where nothing could touch them, not fear, not danger, and especially not time. Just a special place where the two of them could be together for eternity without having to worry about other people in their lives, meddling around. She hated the thought of her life always being on display for other people, just the very idea of being caught in her mermaid form was a nightmare for the blonde. She'd had those types of dreams often when she first figured out what she was exactly, and all those mermaid movies she'd seen throughout her life frightened her. Would she be subject to be captured and experimented on like the freak of nature she was? Would Sara have to deal with losing Cade to the government or worse, someone else who could live forever? Suddenly, she slowly lifted her head, careful not to hit Cade's chin too hard and she inquired softly, lifting up one of her hands, unclasping it from her grip around his frame, and ran her fingers gently along his cheek and his jaw before it landed on his muscular chest and she spoke, her voice just a whisper, though she easily knew the fallen would be able to hear her with his keen senses, "What would you do, if you were me?" she asked calmly, purely curious. She just did want to know though, would he be pressing just the same as she was? If the tables were turned, and Sara was the immortal and Cade wasn't, she certainly could understand his viewpoints of the matter, but she couldn't imagine going on the rest of her life of eternity on this earth without someone.
"What will you do...?" she inquired, the image of Cade after her death, how-ever many years from now, the pain and torture she could see on his features. Cuddling closer, Sara shivered, quivering in the blonde's arms before she could stop herself. She just never wanted that image to become real, and as she ran her hand gently through his hair, she smiled softly, maybe he'd let her cut it for him. She'd trimmed it for him before and he didn't seem to mind - a bit of bonding time for them. The mermaid clung to Cade tighter then, though paused and glanced up to him at his words. Give up who she was? Patient lips pursed in mild amusement but a mixed emotion of thoughts came across her features as Sara responded, running a hand up his chest before it rested on his shoulder as she peered up at him, "I don't think I could ever lose my personality. I don't think you ever would be able to either." she commented, offering him a reassuring smile. Sara could see Cade never really losing his personality, sure it may have changed to an extent, but either way she could see him putting up with his older sisters like he did when he'd met Sara's step-sister for a few moments awhile back, how she had cooed at him and wanted to attack him with questions about his and Sara's relationship while Beatriz had easily asked Sara to help her with something in another room. It was easy to tell what the woman thought of Cade when she'd met the young man briefly, she liked him and enjoyed telling Sara how she thought she and he would have such cute children and that she really thought he was a good guy and all that. Then Sara cut off that conversation wanting to save Cade from her younger step-sister who was probably going between English and Spanish questions without even realizing it. The mermaid sighed softly into Cade's chest, she liked her height compared to his. It was one of the first things she had always done with boys, was compare herself in height towards them, where her head landed on them, whether it be their shoulders or their chest. She liked where she landed on Cade, it was a perfect match in height, slightly at his chest, but enough to where she could also rest it against his shoulder and a bit of his collarbone too. It was just another sign to her that she and Cade were meant to be together. Emerald eyes looked up in silent curiosity at his inquiry. Her parents? A sheepish smile crossed her lips, but could easily be taken as as grimace. She honestly wasn't sure, she had spoken to them about it, she knew her father was okay with it but Beatriz didn't seem to like the thought of Sara doing it just for one guy. Then she mentioned marriage and Sara had walked away from that conversation. Beatriz though had said she'd be more comfortable and all for it if Sara and Cade married, just to show their eternal love for each other. Nibbling her bottom lip, the mermaid answered, calmly, "They don't...disapprove of it." she collected her words, "My father accepts it and is ok." she paused, and then added, "My step-mother..." the mermaid sighed, and arched an eyebrow towards the handsome blonde in front of her before she continued, "She asked me to ask you what about marriage." A deep blush coursed through her and Sara added quickly to her defense, "She's okay...but...that...yeah." she smiled weakly, looking up to the fallen angel in her arms. Honestly if someone had told her she'd be this happy and have an angel in her arms, in Italy, she would have laughed at their face a year ago. Not now, not ever. Sara was too happy to even care about what others thought, as long as Cade was happy. [/blockquote] TAGGED ! Caden wanted to be able to hold Sara in his arms forever, he thought. The emotion was purely selfish and he was surprised by just how sudden and violent it was. He wasn’t shocked by the amount of the emotion itself, but how the more he tried to direct Sara off her path towards immortality, the less he wanted it to happen. Instead of him convincing her, it was the other way around. And Cade supposed it didn’t help matters that it was his logic warring against his own feelings. There was something in the middle of his core yelling that he was stupid and selfish for wanting it, that things would be better for Sara if she stayed mortal because immortality was not all it was cracked up to be. But that was being slowly buried under all the thoughts of what things could be like if the mermaid were immortal. Their time together and how it’d never end. The fact that neither of them would ever be alone because they would always have the other. Maybe all of his bad experiences over the past couple of decades had come from being lonely because when all was said and done, he was a people person and the lack of permanent friendship was really hard on him. Caden would never have to face that, not with Sara by his side and he’d do everything in his power to make sure she never had the same feeling. He was certain of the fact as he realized how content he was, just standing here with their matching breathing.
He paused when Sara asked her question of what he’d do if the situation was reversed, though mostly because he had been distracted by her touches and not because he needed to think of a response. Cade closed his eyes for a moment or two, just thinking about her hand running along his face and landing on his chest. Those little touches caused his heart to race but made him feel completely calm at the same time. It was such an odd reaction, but he thought it was close to what perfection would feel like if it were an emotion. Caden lightly ran one of his hands up and down Sara’s back slowly and he finally opened his eyes again. He should really answer her question, but he was afraid of giving her ideas. “If things were reversed, I would’ve gone to Antonia first and had her give me the potion before I even asked you.” He grimaced slightly, knowing how bad that sounded, going behind her back and all. But he wasn’t concerned about his own wellbeing, not like he was with Sara’s. Cade would’ve given up anything and everything to make her as happy as possible. The fallen knew how much pain he would go through if he lost her and he’d never want her to experience even a fraction of that. “And then I would’ve spent the rest of eternity asking you to forgive me for not asking for your opinion first.” Because what Sara thought was extremely important to Caden, but that didn’t mean he’d let her convince him to change his mind for his sake.
When Caden thought about things that way, it was easier to see Sara’s reasoning behind her decision. How could he really expect anything less, knowing her as well as he did? But…he didn’t know. It just seemed different. He was much more willing to spend an eternity alone and let Sara live a happy and mostly normal life than he was for things to be the other way around. Still, he could feel his resolve slip completely away. He was defeated in this argument. Sara was a grown woman and could make her own logical decisions. Cade heard Sara’s question and then felt her shake in his arms. “Sara, what’s wrong?” he asked, thinking about taking a step back from her so he could examine her face, but she snuggled closer and he couldn’t imagine moving away from that. Instead, he squeezed back just as tight, smiling as the mermaid ran a hand through his blonde hair. Again, those little touches. He would never be able to survive without them, not after knowing how good they made him feel and how much he craved them. Caden felt her shift so her face was now tipped towards him and he glanced down so he could meet her eyes. “It’s not so much your personality,” he argued lightly. Thinking of people without personalities made him think of robots. An odd jump, yes, but that was how his mind worked. Sara would never become a lifeless being; she’d always have her amazing personality. “I guess I should’ve phrased that better. It’s the fact that you’ll never reach your full potential, that you’ll never know the person you could’ve become.” Because Sara would make some important contribution to the world of marine biology that would have an impact on life everywhere, Cade was sure, but how could she reach that point if she could never progress through life as it was supposed to happen? Caden almost felt as if he were personally responsible for killing a star from the night sky.
The fallen angel couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle when Sara mentioned that her step-mom wanted them to be married. “She beat me to it,” Cade said so Sara wouldn’t think that he was laughing at the suggestion itself. He could imagine his mom saying the same thing had she known the whole entire situation. Keeping one arm around the mermaid’s waist, Cade rubbed the back of his neck with his other hand. He hadn’t wanted to let go of the blonde, but it seemed to be an involuntary action he had whenever he was embarrassed. “Sara, if you really want to be immortal, I’m not going to stand in your way. I want to support you every step of the way.” The blonde grabbed both of Sara’s hands in his own hands and got down on one knee. “I want to spend the rest of forever with you. I love you so much more than I could ever express. Sara Jamie Michaels, will you marry me?” Caden met Sara’s brilliant green eyes with his own blue ones, a crooked smile playing lightly on his lips. “I don’t have a ring, but I promise I’ll get one as soon as possible.” He felt bad that this was so spur of the moment in the middle of a falling apart apartment, but he didn’t think the location mattered all that much. What did bother him was the lack of ring. If he were going to propose, he should do it properly. If Caden’s mother was still alive, he’d be berated for it and she’d threaten to disown him for not being a proper gentleman.

i'd give up forever to touch you 'cause i know that you feel me somehow Sara wasn't sure what reality was anymore. Not when she was entangled in Cade's arms. She wanted to spend the rest of eternity here with just him and her and not have to worry about anyone else. Closing her eyes, the mermaid sighed heavily, immediately being overwhelmed with Cade's scent. It was something she knew he'd probably never be able to lose, a mix of the smell like a library, and most of all the ocean air that she adored so much. She blamed it on her being a mermaid, but the ocean side to his smell was addicting, one of the multiple attributes that Sara absolutely adored about Cade. Reopening her eyes as he spoke, she lifted her head ever so slightly, feeling pleasant shivers run down her spine the moment his hand moved along her back. Sara sighed into Cade, before she then decided to give in and turn her head to look to Cade quietly when he then answered her inquiry about what would he have done if he had been in her position and she in his. So he was good and was the one who would have gone to Antonia first, then to her, telling her he would be immortal just like she would be. It was what she had expected. Him to become immortal first for her, because he was so selfless, he was there for her all the time. Cade's personality showed through so much in that single statement, it was amazing. Sara could see it, how much he cared for her, and even other people. He could have his moments, but that's what made him Cade, and she wouldn't have him any other way but. It was startling to her, to know that she knew she was meant for Cade, and Cade was meant for her. She had never been so sure about anything before this. Cade was wonderful, perfect and she didn't see herself with anyone but him till the day the earth didn't exist anymore.
"You wouldn't have to spend eternity..." she cooed softly, emerald eyes meeting the brilliant blue ones of the angel in front of her. To her it didn't matter to her all that much whether he was a fallen or not, though he was immortal, Cade was still just absolutely perfect in her eyes. Never judged, and he was always right there for her when she needed him, as she was right there for him when he needed her or a shoulder to lean on. She was sure they would be each other's support system in the future, when their family may have moved on, but had grandchildren and such, that Sara and Cade would still be as they were today, the same age and looks, maybe even some of the mixed personalities as well. "Maybe just a century." she whispered, teasing, as she smiled against his chest, her face turned as she could breathe air easily, but still be just as close to Cade before. The mermaid fell silent and tensed when Cade asked her what was wrong. Closing her eyes, and willed away the mental image, as if Cade would be able to see it. She never did want him to see it, she never wanted to witness it in person either, or in spirit, or any way shape or form. Just the very thought of this image in her mind made Sara want to hug Cade forever, and to promise him she'd never do a thing to ever cause him any pain if she could do anything about it. Sighing, she responded, "It's just...I imagined you...your face, after I died....after the pain I caused you." she sighed the last few words, though clung to Cade tighter for a brief moment, telling him she would never want that - but he should know that too. Sara eyed the blonde lightly with wild green eyes at his comment on her never being able to reach her full potential. She would, she knew she would, she knew with support she could get there, all she needed was that, and some time. Time which she could have plenty of if she were to be made immortal. Blowing back some of her slightly shorter hair, or also her bangs which had grown out, the mermaid answered calmly, "I don't doubt I can't." she walked a hand up his chest before running it through his hair once more, in an attempt to calm him in a way. As they stood there, their breathing synced down to the slight sigh Sara had done, the blonde perked when Cade laughed. Had she said something that warranted a laugh? Or at least that little chuckle that she absolutely fell in love with? Running back through the past few things she had say, she realized with a pang at what he was talking about when he mentioned "she" and Sara easily figured out it was - wait - did he just say "beat me to it?" Wide-eyed, the mermaid watched him move, and she reluctantly released him, curious to see what he was doing. Her heart was racing, a trapped bird in a cage. Sara watched as he moved, and then he took both her hands, and she did hear him, but it felt like she was swimming in water and he was attempting to speak to her. Of course he loved her. She loved him. It was just that simple and they always had an amusing time together when they told people that and they went through their "aw" moments before finally composing themselves. She had opened her mouth to comment about loving him back and such, and that she was glad he supported her and all that, before he popped The Question. The mermaid could feel her heart drop - but in a good way - and her stomach churn as if she'd eaten fish unknowingly. Marry her? Her mouth went dry as she could feel multiple emotions splash over her, pride, joy, surprise, eagerness, love, passion, and so many more. Managing to compose herself, she heard him speak of the ring, and it made her grin grow, easily competing with Cade's crooked grin she adored so much. Squeezing his hands slightly within her own, Sara grinned, suddenly feeling a few tears escaping her eyes, she was such a cry baby today! She nodded, "Yes...of course, Cade." she answered, and shook her head, also drying away the tears, "I love you too, Cade, so much, and don't apologize for no ring. The gesture is wonderful." she grinned weakly, wanting to kiss him. She didn't care about where they were - which they were in Italy for goodness sake, Sara was happy anywhere, this being her first time out of the States, and she closed the space between them, not wanting to hold it back, she pressed her lips eagerly to Cade's. She didn't care at that point, she just wanted to kiss him, pulling back after a few moments, Sara spoke, grinning like a fool she felt like, "Can...I...maybe cook you something for dinner? For celebration?" she inquired, grinning gently, keeping some space between the two of them, but not much, as she just couldn't help the smile, it just wouldn't go away. He'd made her happier - which she doubted was possible, but in a way, he had. It would only go to show in another way just how much they loved each other. [/blockquote] TAGGED ! He loved hearing her sigh in that pleasant way. It signaled that she was content, just as he was. They were both where they were supposed to be and it would always be like that. Caden would make sure of it. He had no idea what twist of fate had made them perfect for each other, but the blonde would forever be in debt to it. Everything just felt right, like things were meant to be like this and the universe would somehow be wrong if they weren’t. And while Cade was getting all romantic and sappy, mind as well take it a step further. He had never realized it, but something had been missing his entire life. Of course it was all sorts of clichés, but he felt completed when he was near Sara and the fallen knew he wouldn’t be whole without her. Sara was wonderful and amazing and the fallen was beginning to think that he needed to make up new adjectives to describe her because those two just weren’t enough. He wanted her to realize just how remarkable she was. If by some horrible happenstance they were torn apart, Cade would never be able to forget her. Not that he’d ever want to, but she’d forever stay clear in his mind, almost as if he had only seen her yesterday no matter how much time had passed.
Caden let another small chuckle escape from his frame as Sara said he wouldn’t have to apologize for an eternity, easily being able to match her gaze. How could he ever think he’d survive without seeing her beautiful eyes every day? “I’ll have to keep that in mind,” he joked, smiling. It seemed impossible to stop smiling now that everything looked as if it was going to be okay. And how could he not be ridiculously happy, feeling as if Sara and him were back to the point where they had been before he had left. If they weren’t already closer than before, considering all that they had went to. Though it turned out his assumption about not being able to stop being happy was wrong. Or at least it, he found out it was able to be dampened. That was exactly what Cade didn’t want Sara to do; worry about him. She had enough stress without adding his wellbeing to the list. “Shush, baby,” Caden said in an attempt to sooth her, stroking her hair slowly and lightly. “Don’t concern yourself with that.” It sounded almost as if she was trying to take the blame for something when she wouldn’t have any claim to the fault of it. The fallen figured that his plan of finding some way to die if he were to ever lose her wouldn’t cause Sara any comfort. He kept quiet, trying to calm her instead and hopefully get that image out of her mind.
She was going to make some sort of stubborn comment, that much was obvious in the way she moved her bangs out of her face. And there was something about the expression in Sara’s eyes that followed that sentiment that only back up his initial impression. Caden liked that the mermaid was so very set in her beliefs and that she wouldn’t just change them arbitrarily. And he also liked that she didn’t over do the whole stubborn thing either. There were girls who were, girls who absolutely refused to listen to anyone and weren’t afraid to go to ridiculous lengths just to prove their point. Maybe it was just the fallen, but he had always thought that those girls were just proving how insecure they were by trying to exude too much confidence. Or there was just a major problem in their life that they felt the need to cover up by proving that they needed no one’s help. Sara wasn’t like that and Cade thought it made her seem like a stronger person. He closed his eyes as she ran a hand through his hair, just enjoying the feeling of her being so close to him and knowing that he had an eternity to look forward to of this.
Sara’s reaction was so…her. Caden could see the slight confusion on her face as he moved, her opening her mouth as if to tell him to stop overstating the obvious, the surprise in her eyes and he realized exactly what he was planning on doing. For a split second, he had though she might reject him, though it had more to do with his own insecurities than her slight pause before agreeing. Of course the mermaid took a small amount of time to respond; she hadn’t been expecting this and was caught off guard. What Cade hadn’t expected was for Sara to cry and he was startled for a moment or two, which he was sure was evident on his face. Then he realized that this time they were happy tears and all of the obvious surprise on his features was erased by a huge grin. If he were going to make her cry at any point, he’d much prefer that it was tears of joy and not because he did something stupid to hurt her. He’d never forgive himself for hurting her originally and was sure he wouldn’t be able to live with himself if he did it again.
Hearing her say yes had to be one of the best moments of his immortal life. Scratch that. This whole afternoon was becoming the best couple of hours of his eternal existence, second only behind the day he had met Sara and realized he was falling in love with the beautiful mermaid. Caden stood up quickly, overjoyed by her acceptance and fervently met her lips. It was a kiss that could rival that of the one depicted in the V-J Day in Times Square photograph. He was sure of it. This was what true love was. There was no other way to describe what he felt in that moment. Time seemed to slow and Cade knew he never wanted to pull away from her. Unfortunately, they were both in need of oxygen, a fact the fallen angel was reminded of when they had actually separated and he felt slightly dizzy from being out of breath. The smile on his face mirrored the one on Sara’s. He heard her comment about making dinner, but ignored it for a few moments so he could kiss her again. This one wasn’t as long as the previous, but it was just as astounding. Cade stooped slightly so he could rest his forehead against Sara’s. He remained silent, just enjoying being able to stare into her green eyes. The blonde pulled back after a while, moving so his arm was around Sara’s shoulders and beginning to move towards the apartment door. “I was thinking we could go out for dinner.” He didn’t have anything in the way of food in his apartment, seeing as how his shopping trip had been interrupted. Besides, how many times could she say that she had had actual Italian food cooked in the heart of the country? Caden pressed his lips to Sara’s hair before opening the door and turning out the lights to the apartment.

i'd give up forever to touch you 'cause i know that you feel me somehow Upon hearing the other blonde's chuckle, a smile curved along her pink lips. She absolutely loved hearing Cade's noises, whether it was just a sigh, or him laughing at something, she loved it when he did those things. Practically anything. She grinned, feeling like the emotions she was feeling could only be comparable to the feelings people felt in those movies she watched a lot - those sappy ones like The Notebook, which she would never make Cade sit through if he didn't want to. A little guilty pleasure she had, a sappy movie with some ice cream or chocolate and she was good for a night. Then most likely swim the chocolate off the next day. Cade hadn't seen one of those nights, but Sara doubted she'd never need to worry about that again, as Cade would always be here with her, right here where, though it sounded selfish, right here where he should be; with her in her arms and her in his. Sara's eyes brightened when he answered to her teasing and she grinned coyly, poking his side calmly as she then mused, "I'm an easy forgiver." emerald eyes gleamed brightly. Especially when it came to Cade. She knew there would be a few things that he could possibly do that she would never be able to forgive, well, maybe she could forgive him but she'd definitely never forget, and one thing would be cheating. That was her worst fear too, since Harry, she closed her eyes at the thought of the dark-haired male she had once thought she was in love with. She had mentioned it to Caden in a passing once or twice, but hadn't told him too much about it, that being the main why because of the incident, she had moved here, where she could escape from him and not have to worry about him.
Closing her eyes for a brief moment to blink away the tears that had sprouted after Cade got onto one knee, Sara knew she was the luckiest woman alive. No one would know what they felt like - she knew ones in love could - but she finally understood what she had been missing out on. Sara couldn't imagine what life would be like now if she hadn't met him. She knew they certainly wouldn't be here, right where they are now. She wouldn't have come here to beautiful Italy to find him, and she'd most likely be in her classes right now, and Cade doing anything he wanted. To have that freedom she could imagine, would be nice, but she knew he had some stability in his life. She hoped she could keep his foundation steady. Brushing aside some of his hair, the mermaid tilted her head gently, watching the fallen quietly. It was interesting, about how when he had first told her what he was, she didn't get bothered by it. Most people when they heard a fallen angel, they believed them to be horrid, angry creatures. Cade was breaking the mold quite easily there. He was a worry-wart over those that he cared about - a thing Sara loved - and he took care of himself after he took care of others. He was selfless, confident in himself, and knew who he was as a person. Even though he didn't go to college, that didn't bother Sara, he had all of eternity to learn, and she could see his reasoning of not going to college a lot of the time, things only changed once in awhile in different fields, she didn't see why going all the time for the same thing, unless you went for different things. In her mind though, Sara knew Cade was perfect. He had been made for her it felt like, and she had been made for him. Soul-mate came to mind and she didn't really find another word that she could use to describe him.
At his shushing her, the mermaid narrowed her eyes playfully, though she didn't say anything but nodded solemnly. She didn't want to let Cade know she had had nightmares about that when he had been gone, she not only felt empty without him there, but she just didn't feel right. Her parents noticed this immediately and understood, and the weirdest thing was, her mother had contacted her. Her eyes fell slightly, though were brought back up, feeling the pearl necklace she had had since forever swung slightly on her neck. Sara wouldn't need to worry now though she suddenly, randomly thought. She and Cade had all eternity, she would never have to worry about losing him to time, to anything or anyone she hoped. He reminded her of the guy she had thought of when she was growing up, as her mind traveled along this path. A guy she wanted to wake up seeing every day, to be able to just hug or kiss him whenever she darn well pleased. A beam melted along her features, their smiles matching. Anyone could have looked towards them and knew immediately that the two of them were in love. Sara loved him, he returned it and it was just a perfectly-shaped circle. Grinning down to him on his one knee though, she felt so giddy, she felt like she'd drift away because she just felt so light. After she said of course, yes, why wouldn't she? Sara expected Cade to do what he did, the passion he gave was easily met by her. If only he knew what he did to her. Their kiss was strong, so strong it made her weak in the knees, Sara was particularly relieved when his arms had found themselves around her, or else she would have most likely been on the floor now, as if she had traded her legs for her tail.
Grinning into their token of love, the mermaid realized just how much she had been needing air when the fallen pulled back. It was something the mermaid had hardly gotten used to, as she just wanted to kiss Cade so much, she cursed having to breathe sometimes. Their lips met once more, and she eagerly returned the favor, wanting to show him in any way that she possibly could that she loved him so very much, and she wanted to show him just how much at any opportunity that she had. At his comment, the mermaid happily agreed. Italian food next to Mexican food had always been her favorite types of meals. Cade had cooked a few times for her before and she completely loved it, but to actually have something made in Italy? How could anyone turn that down, let alone, in any country they were visiting? She wasn't sure how this day could get any more perfect, but going out to dinner with her now fiance. That sounded so odd, so strange, but it felt so right, wonderful at the same time. So wonderful, perfect, right, absolutely stunning. She couldn't find enough words to describe it, and she ran out rather quickly, listing off some more in her head, she shortly followed Cade, her hand in his, a smile still painted on her lips, "Where are we going?" she inquired, walking easily by Cade's side once they were on the street, she drew close, resting her head on his shoulder for a few moments before lifting it, peering around the city. She hadn't had much of a chance to look around before because she had been searching, but now, she had all the time with Cade she could possibly want. Emerald eyes looked to the handsome, wonderful blonde at her side, "I have no preference to where we go, though I will need to remember checking-out of my hotel when I told them I would be." she grinned shyly, before quickly leaning up and planting a light kiss on Cade's cheek, because she could, and looked around, "Do you have any suggestions for the food I get?" she inquired, grinning lightly, as she was familiar with some Italian plates, her knowledge was limited. Either way she was willing to push back her flight a few days in order to stay with Cade. Hell she was ready to stay here, she just needed to get a Visa and all that. Squeezing his hand, Sara glanced his way as she was then surrounded by so much Italian once more, some glances cast their way, some whispers from older couples, and then some girls walking by, giving her a look and then looking to Cade. She hadn't realized how much their blonde hair stuck out like a sore thumb, but at this point, the mermaid didn't care. She was with Cade, he was happy and safe, and that's all that mattered.
