I've noticed that in the rules we don't have any limits mentioned yet on mature content, which is understandable, not everyone covers all the bases when starting out, however, I wanted to point out that Proboards takes mature content very seriously, and if any actions are discovered to be clear term violations, they will delete forums without warning. We all know we don't want that happening! I personally love it here. It's a very fun and a positive environment.
I've noticed some inappropriate things going on, for instance, an older guy dating a underage girl(sorry if I'm putting anyone on the spot, but it needs to be said), and also descriptively lewd sexual posts, both of which I am very uncomfortable with. I'm not going to turn a blind eye to that. See Proboards' term #18 below.
"18. OBJECTIONABLE CONTENT
You represent and warrant that you shall not use the Website or Services to upload, post, transmit, display, perform or distribute any content, information or materials that: (a) are libelous, defamatory, abusive, or threatening, excessively violent, harassing, obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, or pornographic; (b) constitute child pornography; (c) solicit personal information from or exploit in a sexual or violent manner anyone under the age of 18; (d) incite, encourage or threaten physical harm against another; (e) promote or glorify racial intolerance, use hate and/or racist terms, or signify hate towards any person or group of people; (f) glamorize the use of hard core illegal substances and drugs; (g) advertise or otherwise solicit funds or constitute a solicitation for goods or services; (h) violate any provision of this Agreement or any other ProBoards agreement or policy, including without limitation ProBoards' Community Guidelines; or (i) is generally offensive or in bad taste, as determined by ProBoards (collectively, "Objectionable Content"). PROBOARDS DISCLAIMS ANY PERCEIVED, IMPLIED OR ACTUAL DUTY TO MONITOR THE CONTENTS OF THE WEBSITE AND SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY RESPONSIBILITY OR LIABILITY FOR INFORMATION PROVIDED HEREON. Without limiting any of its other remedies, ProBoards reserves the right to terminate Your use of the Website and Services or Your uploading, posting, transmission, display, performance or distribution of Objectionable Content. ProBoards, in its sole discretion, may delete any Objectionable Content from its servers. ProBoards intends to cooperate fully with any law enforcement officials or agencies in the investigation of any violation of this Agreement or of any applicable laws."
Full list of terms here: www.proboards.com/tos.html
I understand that some members are not going to like having limits on that and they are used to other sites that do whatever they want, but just because it can be done, doesn't mean it's right.
If I'm spoiling anyone's fun, I don't mind being the "bad guy" for mentioning it. You can be mad at me if you want. ^^

Probably the reason why is because - I know I assumed - something I shouldn't do - most people wouldn't take it quite that far, but I do understand. I can add a rule there about the rating just so everyone keeps it in mind.

No, you don't understand.. this is serious. I'm not "taking it that far", Proboards is. It's a rule against anything that has to do with the forums, even private messaging. It's not a rule we made up it's the ACTUAL Proboards terms of service, including PMs. I think the threads should be removed. Honestly all this is up to Jurate and Jurate alone, unless you both went into the site together.

No. I do understand. I've seen it happen, which is why I'm starting to take care of it and talking with Jurate about how we can make sure we will not need to worry about it.
Look, I've PMed Jurate, Snapper. It will all be dealt with accordingly.

Izzy, I'm aware that you just messaged Jurate. It's nothing personal. I understand immediate action can not exactly be undertaken until she decides, but putting it in PMs is just as bad, that's just my point. You made a new rule with it going to PMs, which is why I was mentioning it.

Okay guys.
I used to have a rule on here which explained about sexual content and that, for being a rule, had the site removed, and so I had to delete it to get it back. It is very appreciated of you Snapper, to point it out, because I am aware that explicit content can be uncomfortable for some people to read. I mean, I know that I am fifteen, and some people here are under eighteen and shouldn't be reading kind of as the Proboards terms of service call 'Pornographic content'. So, I will be removing the threads/posts with anything too explicit, but I still believe that some characters should have fun with mild content, like kissing and such. I guess it is only natural. But I will definitely be talking to some people about what they write in threads, and because Proboards has said that sexual content should not be allowed in PM's either, I will also be changing that rule (sorry Izzy, I don't want to get the site deleted again ): ).
I guess I have been a bit naive, never realising how some things are quite offensive, and I should take more care reading through other people's threads just to make sure. So now, I will change the rule, talk to certain people, just so everyone on the site can feel comfortable with everything going on, and because I don't want to risk the site being deleted again.
Is that a good enough solution? Or do you guys need anything else from this? So I can deal with it? (: It really is appreciated that if you do not feel comfortable with something, you come and tell me, so thank you Snapper for doing that and opening my eyes a little to what some people really aren't comfortable with.

I completely understand the rule, seeing as I have my own site and ive read that before. But, I have noticed on other sites a locked board labeled 'Mature'. Is that still in violation of the rules?

Honestly? I have no clue. I would think so, if only because sexual explicit content if not allowed on PM's where no one can see it, would it be allowed in a locked board? To be honest, I'd rather not risk it personally, and I still think that people can have fun RPing without quite so much sexual scenes if you know what I mean...

Whew, that's a relief. Yea, kissing is fine. ^^ Honestly Jurate, the only reason why I actually found it so fast was because of the "View the 20 most recent posts on this forum" link.. XD, but I'm glad I could help. Thank you Izzy for helping, and also thank you Jurate, for changing it. I really appreciate it.
