Victoria thought it was silly coming out to a supposedly haunted house at the dead of night. But she was going to prove it wasn't and then buy it to fix it up and sell it. That's what good real estate people did. Victoria had lived here all her life and not once had she been in this house. It was probably some kids spooking people out, they probably were gone by now. Just in case Victoria brought a pocket knife and a heavy duty flashlight. She was a black belt in karate so she probably didn't even need to use the knife, but she brought it just in case. She would prove to her co workers that this house wasn't haunted. Not that they had any say wether she bought it or not since Victoria was the head of the company. She was technically the head of the company when her father died when she was 16 but didn't actually get to run it until she was 18. Now it was going on four years owning the company and she loved it. Since she was very charismatic she was perfectly suited for the job.
Victoria pulled up to the house and parked her silver Mercedes in the drive way. When she got out she turned on her flashlight and made her way to the front of the house. It was run down and boarded up everywhere. As she walked across the lawn her leather knee high heels dug into the ground. Some might think that those really weren't the right shoes to wear into an empty house that had broken floor boards in it but heels for Victoria was like a part of her. She also had blue denim skinny jeans on with a black tight tank top. No matter what Victoria was doing she always had to look good, that was her rule. Even when she did karate and took on several people, no hair was out of place. This would be the same, she was not scared of some hoax. She got up creaky stairs and stood in front of the door. She didn't have to break in like most people did. She got a key from the records of the house. It was a old fashioned skeleton key, very different. She took it out of her pocket and un locked the door.
A cool breeze greeted her and sent goosebumps down her spine. Victoria shook her head and entered the house. The floorboards groaned underneath her as she walked down the long hallway. Midway down the hallway the door slammed shut behind her. Her head snapped to the door, she pushed her worries down by saying it was the wind."Only the wind." She reassured herself. Victoria had never come in contact with anything supernatural. She really didn't believe that ghosts existed, maybe spirits or something like that. She finally came to the end of the hallway and entered what looked like the living room. Her flashlight shone over the couch, love seat, and the tv. There was also a coffee table there with what looked like a lantern and matches. First she tried turning on the light switch next to her. Of course it didnt turn on so she went and knelt by the coffee table. Victoria put her flashlight on the table and lit a match. Carefully she lit the lantern and light illuminated the room. She noticed that there was a staircase leading up to the second floor.
Curious Victoria took the lantern and started to walk up stairs. They creaked and groaned more than the floorboards. The air also got much cooler as she went upstairs. It made no sense because heat rises, this was suppose to be warmer. When she got to the top of the stairs there was another hallway. As she started to walk down it she heard a noise. It sounded like someone was pressing down on piano keys. "Is someone there?" She asked, voice wavering slightly. At that moment a door flew open, she jumped and stepped back. There was silence, Victoria started to her nervous. "Hello? This is not funny, whoever you are I'll give you five seconds to come out." Victoria said sternly "Five..Four..Three..Two..One." At that moment her lantern was ripped from her hand and thrown against the wall. Victoria screamed and backed up, nearly falling down the staircase. She quickly turned around and booked it down the stairs. She ran passed the living room and flew open the door and slammed into someone. She threw her arms around them and stumbled off the porch. Victoria didn't care who it was, she just needed someone to hold her.
