 The day was beautiful in the backyard of Allegra Van Allen's mansion. Allegra was laying down on a lounge chair by the pool with it reclines almost all the way down. She was wearing a magenta bikini that had a 22 k golden heart connecting the front piece. It also had gold chains connecting the sides of the bottom shaped like hearts. Allegra loved days like this, loved soaking in the sun without a care in the world. She had a glass of cold blood with ice cubes and a bendy straw in it to the small table to the left of her. She usually didn't like packaged blood but Elijah had got her into it. Besides on a day Like this she'd rather have cold blood rather than fresh hot blood. Allegra had been sitting here for about an hour, now she felt like taking a swim. Allegra took a sip of blood and then got up and stretched towards the sky. She had two diving boards, one on the ground and another 20 feet up in the air. She climbed up the twenty foot ladder the second board. She got up on her tip toes and made one graceful jump and leaped into the air. She did a series of twists and flips through the air. The cool water greeted her below and it felt good on her skin. She floated under the water with her eyes closed, it was so peaceful down below the water. She stayed there for a while until she had to come up for air, even vampires can't hold their breath forever. The sun greeted her with much warmth and she laid on her back and basked in it. It felt nice to relax, usually Allegra was busy all the time. She worked at a big real estate company and was working and going to party's all the time. Today was her day off from everything, her alone time. She had made all her servants take a day off and relax in the house. She gave them strict orders not to bother her. It was funny because all of them knew she was a vampire, she had made them swear an oath that prevented them from telling anyone. She asked a witch to come and and make the oath official, so anyone who broke it was cursed. Her head hancho of the servants was Charlie. She'd known Charlie for 30 years, she saved him from drowning in a river when he was 13, he's been with her ever since. Then from the house, as clear as if she was right beside the person, she heard one of her servants scream. Allegra was out of the pool in an instant and sprinting towards the house. She ran through her ridiculously high bushed labyrinth she knew by heart and into the house. The screaming was still going on and then it abruptly stopped which made Allegra pump her legs faster. She cut up the second floor to get to the entrance, it was a quicker way. When she got to the grand staircase that split in two she jumped off the middle and rolled out of it gracefully 15 feet below. Her head snapped up and a growl erupted from her chest as she surveyed the area. Their went her relaxing day. |

Someone was following her. Someone was chasing her. Someone wanted her dead. Damned hunters. They wanted every single supernatural being dead. It was not her time yet. She wasn't ready to die. Her heart slammed against her chest as she feet pounded against the ground. She was running. Running as fast as she could. "Goddammit." She breathed to herself. She glanced over her shoulder towards the people that were chasing her. She could see their figures growing smaller and smaller. She was faster than then because of her given shifter abilities. But even a animal could never keep running. They had to stop, just like how she did right now. Aurelia felt like she was doing to pass out right now. She was out of breath. Her human body could not carry herself any longer. But her animal body will.
She soon slowed down into a stop. Her breathing was heavy and she was sweating. The blond female got down on all fours and breathed deeply. Her bones began to crack and shift into those of a canine's. A cry escaped her lips. The whole changing process hurt every single time she did it. She was slowly getting better at it, but it still hurt like a bitch, She could never really get used to herself changing into her animal form. She felt her features changing into an animals. She was no longer a human but instead in her chosen other form, a dhole, which ran in the same family as wolves. Honestly, it was not a pretty process. It wasn't.
Run run run. Run to whereever. Just to get away from here. She kept telling herself this as her paws tried to move as fast as they can. She needed to be somewhere safe. Out in the distance, she managed to pick at a very large mansion. Familiar to her. Allegra's place. Damn. She needed to get there. Fast. She rushed towards the building. When she reached it, she circled around it several times, trying to find some kind of entrance or a way to get inside. None. Then out of the corner of her eyes she noticed a several servant entering the house. There was her chance! Sprinting into a run, the animal rushed towards the opening, slipping in through the doorway, she was inside the house.
Walk as slow and as quietly as you can. Aurelia kept his distance from a servant that was not too far away from her. Her paws padded against the ground lightly. The female servant whipped around to face the canine. A look of shock and fear crossed her face. If Aurelia was human, she would have rolled her eyes, but she wasn't in her human form. Was she? Then the servant scream. Damn it. That hurt like a bitch. As if her ears were not sensitive enough. A blood curling shriek was something that would piss her off even more and push her over the edge. A ferocious growl ripped from the canine's throat. The dhole bared its teeth at the petty human. Stupid bitch. If she decided to scream once more,, Aurelia would not hesitate to rip her throat out. That stupid servant grabbed a broom from nearby and pointed the rounded edge at her. Are you kidding? Seriously? You...can't be serious...this has to be a joke. The blond female wanted to laugh. A broom was not going to stop her. Maybe a gun. But definitely not a broom.
Shit. Where's Alegra when you need her. Aurelia needed to change back into her human form and get a change of clothes. Everytime she shifted, say bye bye to her clothes. It sucked. That was a nice Alexander McQueen dress she was wearing. Damn. She was going to miss that. The vampire who owned this lovely mansion knew that Aurelia was a shifter. By accident of course, she had accidentally let it slip into their conversation. Now where was that blond vampire? This shifter was in desperate need for her help. She was probably going to tap into her animal instincts if this human servant continued to piss her off. She couldn't change back yet because she was unsure whether this servant was aware of the supernatural beings around them. Humans. So oblivious to the world.

Allegra surveyed the area and saw a canine baring it's teeth at her servant, who was scared shitless. What the hell, why the hell is there a dog in my house Allegra thought. Then the scent came to her immediately after, it was Aurelia. Quickly she walked over to her servant Cordelia, explaining to her in Italian that the dog was a shifter. Cordelia relaxed quickly and smiled at the dhole infront of her. Then she thought of reasons to why Aurelia would burst in here in her animal form. Hunters were the reason, Allegra became alert and her head snapped to Cordelia. "Tell the guards to be on alert and secure the perimeters, hunters may be coming." Allegra said quickly in Italian. Cordelia nodded and quickly walked down the hallway. She glanced at Aurelia, laughed and nodded her head. She didn't think the hunters were a problem, but she just wanted to take precautions. Her guard consisted of men and woman who were meant to kill. She paid them well and most of the time they didn't do anything. Some cases like these always excited them, they loved to use their toys. "Come, let's get you clothed." Allegra said and started walking up the stairs. Ever since Aurelia became on of her beat friends she made a room for her with all the clothes she said she liked. Opening the door she motioned her in. The room was plain and simple yet elegant. "This is your room, you can tell me what you like and don't like about it and I'll have my designers fix it." Allegra said smiling "The door on the right is your closet and the door on the left is your master bathroom, a servant will be waiting outside when your done and they'll lead you down to the kitchen, take your time if you want."Allegra smiled and kissed the top of Aurelia's head, thanking the gods she was okay. They were like sisters and she couldnt imagine her getting hurt. She closed the door gently and made her way down to the kitchen. She was greeted by many servants as she entered her grand kitchen. She say down on at the bar in the corner of the room, ordering a vodka from the bartender. She looked around the kitchen and spotted Pedro, a strong young Brazilian boy that worked for her. "Go to Aurelia's room and wait outside the door, when she comes out bring her here." Allegra said smiling. Aurelia would love her for this, she would find him very attractive because in fact he was. Pedro nodded and walked out of the kitchen. Allegra spinner around in the chair and waited for her friend to come down. |

A familiar scent hit her nose. It was nice, floral with a hint of something bitter. A vampire's scent. Allegra. Thank whoever. The dhole took a couple steps back and whimpered when Allegra came into view. When the servant smiled at the dhole, Aurelia was confused. So..this female knew about the supernatural beings around here, huh? Didn't shock her. This servant was working for a vampire. Then Allegra spoke. Something something something be on alert..then something. Aurelia managed to pick up a couple of words in Italian as the blond vampire began to speak with her servants. Now the shifter was not fluent in Italian but she knew a couple of words here and there. But be on alert? She managed to outrun those stupid hunters so they must have given up on searching for her now. So there was no need to be on alert. She was pretty sure Allegra and her servants would have taken them out with ease.
When Allegra gave her a nod, the female immediately shifted back into a human. She took the nod as a sign of approval, as if the vampire was giving her permission to change her into a human. Her animal features were soon replaced by her humans ones. Her bones began to crack, causing a sickening sound that would cause one to cringe. She raised her arms up into the air and stretched. And it seemed like she didn't give two shits about being completely naked in front of everybody, revealing her burn scars to everyone in that room. She took a deep breath. "That." She started. "Feels so much better." She declared as she tossed her bold hair over her shoulder.
"Come, let's get you clothed."
Aurelia laughed lightly and nodded. That actually sounded like a good idea right now. She needed some clothes. Following after the female, Aurelia glanced around the house. She's been here several times but she always got lost. She could never navigate around here by herself. She always needed someone's help. This house was just that big. It was almost overwhelming. She entered the room that Allegra had prepared for her. Damn. This good looking vampire was her best friend in the whole damned world. Aurelia just loved this girl to death. Allegra soon explained to her where everything was in her room. Before she left, Allegra kissed her forehead lightly, showing a sign of protectiveness. She always felt safe around Allegra, no matter how bad the situation was. Opening up the closet, the female threw on a simple gray off the shoulder top and a black skinny jeans. It was the first thing she grabbed out of the closet. She just needed clothes, nothing fancy.
Moments after, the female swiftly exited her room that was given to her by her best friend. When she closed the door, she was greeted by a very attractive guy who introduced himself as Pedro. Brazilian? Hell yes. And very very good looking. That was the thing with Allegra's servants. They were so hot. And Aurelia wouldn't mind spending the night with any of them. She had the hots for them. She purred at the male and winked at him flirtatiously, but she kept her distance from him. She wasn't in the mood to toy around with people today. Maybe a little flirting here and there but nothing really serious. Pedro led her downstairs toward the kitchen. She took a seat next to the female and smirked at her. "So Allegra." She started as she crossed one leg over the other and placed her hands down in her lap. She turned towards the female to face her."What have you been up to?" She asked, raising an eyebrow curiously at the vampire. It been a little over a week since he last talked to the other blond. She wanted to know what she was up to. Allegra was just the type of girl who was always up to something. Always. Her life was a never ending roller coaster.

Allegra smiled as Aurelia came down and sat next to her. To the question Allegra took a deep breath and downed her vodka. "So much fucking shit has happened." Allegra said and put her head down on the bar, ordering another vodka. She hadn't seen her best friend in about a week because she's been so busy with dealing with everything. She had no one to talk to at all so that's why she was spending quality time by herself. But Allegra was glad Aurelia was here now, she needed someone who would listen to her problems and give her advice. "But let's discuss this in the spa upstairs, we'll get massages first, then pedicures and manicures." Allegra said and started walking towards the door. She then turned around and made the bartender give her the whole bottle of vodka. She looked at Aurelia and giggled and motioned her to follow. "Oh Pedro, were going up to the spa, I would like you to come with us so you can take care of Aurelia please." She said to her servant, giving Aurelia a sly smiled. "He's an excellent massager." She whispered to her friend. They went up to the second floor in the east wing, a little bit of a walk. Then they entered the spa, it was as big as any salon. She lead Aurelia to the back room to change into their towels. Once they were changed,vodka still in hand, Allegra laid down on the massaging tables. Pedro was by Aurelia's and his cousin Andre was by hers. Allegra paused as she tried to figure out how to drink the bottle without spilling it. She glanced at the servant who was by the nail station, Cordelia. "Would you put this in a cup and give me a straw so I can sip it? And bring one for Aurelia to please." Allegra spoke in Italian. Cordelia smiled and nodded, taking the bottle from Allegra and hurrying out the door. With a flick of her hand she signaled for the boys to start and they did. Instantly she felt more relaxed and she began telling her story. "So remember how I told you about my brother?Allegra asked, already knowing the answer was yes "Well...I jumped off a cliff during the huge storm for some stupid reason and I drowned. Obviously it didn't kill me, barely nothing can, but that's besides the point." Allegra sighed before she continued, she focused on the massaging hands on her back. Pedro was her usual massager but she let Aurelia take him, even though Andre was equally handsome. He was more broader than Pedro, resembling a bear rather than a panther.
"Kingsley save me and I fell instantly back in love with him. Not that I still wasn't in love with him when we were separated." Allegra commented "But here's the problem, acouple days earlier I found my ex lover from 59 years ago and hooked back up with him. So now after making Elijah all happy I have to break it off with him again. Because obviously Allegra would never break it off with her brother, their bond was unbreakable. Cordelia came back with one another servant carrying little folded tables. They other servant was a young pretty girl named Anna, Cordelia's niece. Anna put a table in front of Allegra's and one infront of Aurelia's. Cordelia then put two huge glasses with bendy straws on the tables, it was the perfect height and Allegra took a big swig out of hers."So that's basically what I've been up to. How about you? Find any hot new guys?" Allegra said with a smirk. |

Listening to her best friend drop an, what she classified as an f-bomb, the female tsked Allegra. Such a pretty girl like her shoulder not be using suck vulgar language like that. "Watch your language." She said shaking her head. After doing that, she felt like a mother who had just scolded their child for doing something wrong. Hearing Allegra mention about going to the spa to talk about everything else, the shifter perked up. She had been to the spa inside the vampire's house several times. It was great. "He's an excellent massager." "He's hot." She whispered back, winking shortly after. Pedro was hot. Definitely a guy she would spend the night with. He had the looks. She followed Allegra towards the spa on the east wing. She was always amazed with the house. It was so extravagant and the decor was amazing. They soon changed into their towels and she laid down in the massaging bed, only to be massaged be Pedro, that sexy Brazilian.
The female shot Allegra a 'hell no' shocked look. "Dare may I ask." She started. "Which one shall you choose, the one you love or the one who loves you?" Aurelia asked in a sing songy voice, almost poetic. She then burst into little giggles. "I''m sure they both love you very much." She said grinning at her best friend. She already knew who Allegra was going to choose and that was her brother. Although Aurelia didn't know her brother, she still supported their relationship. Her best friend who go on for hours, gushing about her feelings for her brother way back then. Then she was rage about how she didn't wish for him to be dead and she wanted to see him again, from the bottom of her heart. Their relationship was twisted, incestuous. But Aurelia shouldn't be one to talk. She had some pretty sick hookups before. So, she supported Allegra no matter what.
Her facial reaction softened moments after. A rare sight for a haughty girl like Aurelia. She felt comfortable around Allegra, enough to show her soft side around her. Aurelia didn't have to act bitchy or anything like that around his best friend. "Careful. You're breaking someone's fragile heart.." She told Allegra, almost warning her about the consequences in the future. Her vampire best friend was a pretty girl, capable of doing /almost/ everything. They both would go out to scout for guys and usually the guys that hit on Allegra were the nice guys. Nice guys with the heart of gold and incredible in bed. If she was with her past lover, then he must have been an amazing guy. I mean, Allegra was usually picky with her guys. And she hooked up with him too. And and, he was her lover. Emphasis on lover. That meant Allegra spent several years with this guy. Hell. A small smile appeared on her face. "You're in a sticky situation." She said playfully. It was the truth. Allegra was in a love triangle. Now this was why Aurelia didn't like commitment. She didn't want to get stuck in a sticky situations like this.
"So that's basically what I've been up to. How about you? Find any hot new guys?"
The shifter then took a sip of the alcoholic beverage in front of her. "Not much." She started, glancing over to her best friend. Her life was surely not as eventful as her best friend's "That bastard who caused the burn scars on my back. Well I bumped into him the other day." Aurelia said. She didn't really care about people seeing her scars anymore. She really didn't mind. They were a part of her and made her who she was. Not like she could just make them magically disappeared "If you can't tell. I hated my run in with him." She scowled. There was malice and hate in her voice.

"Watch your language."
Allegra pouted but nodded when Aurelia said that, she rarely ever swore. But when she did it was usually around her best friend who always scolded her. She told Allegra it didn't look pretty, Allegra had to agree. It was kind of ironic because Allegra was several times older than her friend. But sometimes Allegra would play the mother role, especially when she was holding Aurelia's hair back when she was drunk and vomiting in a nearby tree outside the club. Allegra rarely got drunk, vampires had a much higher tolerance to alcohol. She could drink the same amount of beer her friend did and only be a little but buzzed."He's hot." Aurelia said. Allegra giggled in agreement "You should see his older brother, he works on the guard." Allegra said with a grin.
"Which one shall you choose, the one you love or the one who loves you?"
Allegra laughed but then grew serious, she was so very worried. She obviously was going to pick Kingsley but she didn't know how to break up with Elijah."You know as well as I do who I'll pick." Allegra told her best friend, taking a big swig of vodka. She honestly had so much stress about this, but being with Kingsley felt right with her. She had liked being with Elijah but it didn't feel the same as with Kingsley. The slightest touch by Kingsley always sent a jolt threw her. He was her world and she was attached to him like the moon was to the earth. Right now he was at job interviews, charming everyone up. He would have no problem getting a job, she offered him a job at her work. But Kingsley was a self made man and he wanted to get one by himself.
"I''m sure they both love you very much."
"I know." Allegra said with a groan "That's what makes it so hard to break up with Elijah." She hadnt talked to him in the past couple of days because he had been busy with work. She did leave a message on his phone that they needed to talk. Her chest constricted and she emptied her large glass of vodka. She looked at Cordelia and she nodded and took her glass to refill it. She laid silently on the table, focusing on the hands that were easing her stress away. It was easy to let her mind relax when she was getting massaged. She needed it to, and with the combination of vodka and her best friend to talk to she was really happy.

"I know, and I just got back with Elijah a week ago..."Allegra said"But he's survived fifty years without me so he can do it again.." She looked at Aurelia with sadness, she felt like crying but that would be saved for later. Allegra loved going to Aurelia with her problems, she was such a good listener. She also comforted Allegra especially when she was crying. Allegra did the same for her, they were as close as sisters, and she was glad for that.You're in a sticky situation." Allegra laughed and nodded in agreement. Cordelia came back with a full glass of vodka, Allegra said thankyou and instantly began to drink it.
"Not much.That bastard who caused the burn scars on my back. Well I bumped into him the other day."
Allegra nearly choked on her vodka and she shot an incredulous look to her bestfriend. She was utterly shocked, she remembered when Aurelia first told her."What happened? Did you beat the shit out of him?" Allegra asked "If he's around I can track him down with my guard and kill him." Allegra was heated, she hated the guy that caused her friend pain long ago. She wanted to rip him to pieces. Allegra's protective side was coming out, she'd fight to the death to protect Aurelia. She was like a mother bear protecting her cub, but ten times more dangerous. "If you can't tell. I hated my run in with him." Allegra grunted at that, disliking it as much as Aurelia did. She waited patiently so what she would say about her suggestion.

Oh yes she did. She definitely knew. After the number of times Allegra had gone on and on about fiding her brother and moping over the fact that she found his ring. She thought her brother was dead, And oh boy, she cried so much that night. It was painful handing her tissue boxes. In the end, Allegra was going to choose...uh..what's his face. Her brother/ soulmate. Right right. Kingsley. Aurelia made a mental note that she needed to meet this Kingsley and give him 'the girl talk'. And to see if he would be the right guy for his best friend. It just felt like the right thing to do. It was what a best friend should do. The 'girl talk' was just the simple lecture about 'if you break her heart , I will rip your throat out and leave you to die' or something alone those fine lines. It would just mainly consist of threats and promises being made. And Aurelia would enjoy every single moment lecturing this Kingsley. It would be fun and enjoyable.
"But he's survived fifty years without me so he can do it again.."
Allegra began speaking about her other lover.. Elijah. He sounded like a sweet guy, but her reasoning sounded reasonable. He did survive fifty years without her, why couldn't he do it again? But it was the same for Kingsley. Her 'soulmate' survive, how long? One hundred and twenty years without Allegra, Why couldn't he do it again? Aurelia didn't want to question the vampire. Allegra had her reasons for doing stuff or choosing her decisions.
" Did you beat the shit out of him?"
Aurelia laughed and shook her head. "Nope." She said, trying to recollect what had happened that night. Some parts were blotchy and foggy. She only remember little parts, only the important ones that made a huge impact on her. "I was..drinking a lot. So me being tipsy, I made a truce with him." She said furrowing her brows for a split second, to show that she was unsatisfied with her decision that night. If she was completely sober, she would have not made a stupid choice like that. She would have said 'fuck you' and most possibly, pounced on him, trying to attack him. That would end up with her earning some new burn scars and that would not be pretty. But that night, she was drinking away all of her hatred for that firetamer.. She drank to the point where she actually thought that he was good company, someone to party with, It was stupid. It was pathetic. It was foolish.
When Allegra insisted on getting her guards out there to track him down and kill him, the female chuckled lightly to herself. "You know him." She said shrugging, assuming that her best friend knew the firetamer somehow. Allegra just had her ways of knowing people, whether they were business partners, hookups or just comrades. "Well I'm pretty sure you do." Aurelia said, shooting her a look. "His name is Jackson. Firetamer. Dark allied." She said stating the simple details of the man who had burned her. Dark allied. She was well aware of the fact that Allegra allied herself with the 'dark' side in this war and the shifter didn't care. It didn't bother her at all. Allegra should know who were her comrades or not. This vampire was still her best friend no matter what. She didn't care that Allegra wanted the humans dead. Either way, Aurelia didn't even give two shits about the war. That's why she chose to be neutral. Not choosing any sides. It was all pointless to her.
