Woah, Mona Lisa, I'd pay to see you frown He senses something, call it desperation Another dollar, another day And if she had the proper words to say, ( She would tell him But she'd have nothing left to sell him --------------- ! ) Chenelle grimaced slightly, grinding her teeth as she stared into the darkness. The pain in her stomach was becoming unbearable. She hadn't been properly nourished in about two days, and it was starting to get to her. Her stomach growled loudly, protesting its emptiness. She looked around her, scanning the dark road for any traffic. But there were no cars, just like she suspected. There were hardly any cars that ever came this far down this late at night. She lifted her head from her knees and slowly pushed herself off the hood of her head, her shoes making contact with the dirt for the first time all night. Giving a small sigh, she started at a casual pace, walking away from her car and towards the bushes that lined the edge of the forest. Pushing her way through, she let the darkness engulf her. It was almost impossible to see, except for where the moonlight shone through the bare spots in the canopy. She picked up the pace, jogging slightly, prancing over dead leaves and broken twigs.
Her foot steps were barely audible as she moved through the foliage, her eyes expertly scanning everything around her. For once, the forest seemed empty. The only exceptions were a squirrel here, a raccoon there. Chenelle was impatient, that was a given fact. And she was about to turn tail and just go to the city and drag someone into an alleyway when she heard it. Her heightened senses caused her to pause, her breath catching in her throat. She could hear the faint beating of a heart. Something larger than the forest creatures was somewhere. They were a ways away, considering how distant and light the noise was. But it was still there. It made her mouth water and heart beat quicker as the excitement build. Eyes widened, she took off at an amazingly fast speed. Her tummy growled once more, not the normal growl for food, but a sickening gurgle that begged for human blood instead of the normal food of a human. With her blond hair trailing behind her, she made her way over fallen logs and over tiny streams as she worked her way deeper into the forest. Her ears guided her towards the source of the beating heart, and she could almost taste the warm blood pumping through the veins.
She wondered if it would be an innocent human, out for a midnight jog through the forest. Or maybe if it was a lost little Faerie, far away from home and all alone. Either way, she didn't care. Chenelle never cared who she killed. As long as it gave her some benefit. Finally, the noise was upon her. She was about as close as she was going to get. Her eyes were locked onto the bushes, because right on the other side would be her meal. Her pink lips pulled back to reveal menacing fangs, sharp as knives. Without hesitation, she sprang through the bushes, arms out and body tensed as she lunged at her target. And in mid air, she pulled back, realizing who she would have been tackling. Instead of the violent meeting she had expected, she jerked her body sideways, avoiding the dangerous impact. Her small body only gently crashed into the other vampire as she steadied herself, recovering from the near accident.
Straightening, she stared stone-faced into the eyes of Adrian. Chenelle dipped her head, bowing slightly to her elder. "Adrian." She stated his name, in a surprised manner. "My apologies." She apologized, unsure if this would get her in trouble with the rest of the family. You were never rude to an elder, and considering she just attempted to kill him, and then nearly tackled him, she wondered if he would be angry. However, being the way she was, she couldn't help but grin ever so slightly, the corners of her mouth pulling up in an amused manner.

The forest. Oh, how he had become addicted to this place. It was the simplistic and ancient aura of it. The earth was old here, older than he himself. These trees, the streams, the grass; all of it had watched the birth of a race, the coming of man. Closing his eyes against the soft night breeze that rolled through the trees he allowed his mind to slip into even further thoughts. Sniffing the air lightly the Vampire took in the scents of all those he could detect, ranging from the common animals to that of Supernaturals whose scent lingered upon the wind. Slowly, the slightest of smiles fluttered it's way across the thin lips, the look nothing short of pure malice, twisted and distorted darkness.
Allowing his eyes to slowly open once again, those vampiric eyes of his scanning through the depths of the darkness, observing all that existed around him. Lately this place had become the home of Adrian in a sense, it was the one place you could always count on finding him. It calmed the desires the unsatisfiable demons within himself, the serenity of the forest allowing his mind to slip somewhere far from where most others saw him. The Vampire was usually a man that came off as coldly detached, bored with reality and driven only for the furtherment of his Coven. It wasn't to say Adrian hated life or that he wished to escape it, instead he had grown bored with it. He'd walked this world for well over a thousand years, little remained that could draw at his interest. Little remained that was worth allowing himself to show any true emotion over, in all his time he'd found the world and the Humans in particular to be a predictable bunch. Little in life surprised him anymore, not because of some psychic power, however, but because he'd learned Humans where more or less one trick ponies.
War and greed. Sex and power. It was all they cared about. They where the things that nearly every facet of the Human world had evolved around; Adrian would known, he'd been there to watch it. However, his thoughts where suddenly tugged away from his mind as the faint pitter-patter of well trained footfalls made their way towards him. Swaying on his heel, the Vampire turned to face the direction from which his unfaced adversary apparently presumed to ambush him from. Closing his eyes once again, the Vampire allowed his sense to branch out and take the world around him in. The footfalls became clear as day, the movement coming too quickly to be the work on any Human. Adrian was dealing with something else, and the thought of that brought a sadistic smirk to his lips, tipped fangs flashing softly in the moonlight.
It was no secret among Vampires that upon the arrival of Adrian and other members of the Dragos Coven to the city they had immediately begun staking their claim, as was their custom. The challenge was simple; any ranking Coven within the city had one moon cycle to challenge the Dragos Coven. If they defended themselves the Dragos would move on, however, if they lost they where killed without mercy and their territory ripped from their dead hands. It was the Dragos way, it was what had helped cleave their way to the top, unyielding carnage and existence without mercy.
It was in that moment, as he wondered if this assailant was a Vampire here to defend it's city, that the truth finally came into light. As the still mysterious being closed in Adrian pivoted his body in fluid grace that screamed towards centuries of combat. Spinning away to the left he managed to avoid a direct collision, the two of them only hitting one another as she herself attempted to avoid contact with him. Turning to face her his hand moved with a sudden flash of steel, a wickedly sharp knife in his hand as he extended the blade preparing to slash her throat open. Up until the moment he looked upon her.
Chenelle. A woman he'd known for over three-hundred years, a member of the Coven and his kindred. As his eyes locked with her own he found his own gaze to be amused and intrigued by the scenario, hand still clenching the knife aimed at her throat. Adrian would never kill a member of his Coven without reason, but he wanted to see how she'd react to their current situation. However, he knew her to be one beyond scaring, so he allowed a grin to dance it's way across his lips as he dropped the blade to the forest floor, the metal sticking into the ground. Adrian's focus no longer had anything to do with the weapon, instead shifting to that of Chenelle. She was his family, his dark and twisted blood in their world.
"How's my favorite Hellion this evening, Chenelle?" His words danced with a bit of amusement, after all, she was one of the few within Dragos who had the stomach to deal with Adrian's constant need to feed upon Humans, to torture them, to kill them without cause beyond a cold and horrifying sense of power, of excitement. However, no matter how exciting the arrival of Chenelle could prove to be he still had one gnawing need whispering within his mind.
He needed to feed, he needed blood. He craved the hot, crimson lifeblood, the way it brought heat, brought life to a long dead body. His lust for blood went well beyond a common need to eat, to survive. The act of the kill itself, the draining of the blood, devouring the very essence of life; it was the power of the Gods, the thrill and rush of fear and horror and pain. Yes, he needed blood. Soon.
