It was a little chilly around these great plains and rather wet, too. The grass beneath her feet was so rich and green, it always didn't look real. She had made it to this island on the idea of the Offarian Blades; a small village where she could find some potion masters to buy the rare and valuable roots and seeds she had collected on her travels. She had a bag stucked with rare herbs. At the last check point, she was told to follow the tire tracks imprinted in the dirt and over the grass, and you would find your way. The plains were a rather flat grounds, so you could see for miles and miles. Every now and then, she passed a tree, or a small puddle of water. About an hour into her walk along the path, it began to rain. Luckily, she had a thick jacket over her body, with her hair tucked into it.
In the rain, she could hear birds chirping a strange tune, it wasn't what she normally heard back home. Frogs were croaking like crazy and she could hear the many noises of various insects. The rain lasted about an hour before turning into a gentle sprinkle, which lasted the rest of the trip. The entire trip lasted about five hours, which she was content with; it wasn't as though she had a short life to treasure; she would live forever. A single truck had passed her on the trail, which the two ignored each other. Eventually, she could see the village in the distance; it seemed quiet due to the thick overcast and the gentle raining. "Finally there..." She mumbled to herself as she approached the town. Naussica had two bags; a backpack against her back and a small, leather hangbag against her side, full of the herbs she planned to sell.

Kale had hiked for hours upon hours today. He couldn’t remember the last mountain he had seen because now everything around him was flat. Everything around him was green and beautiful as he walked . it had started raining a while ago, but he didn’t mind. He had taken off his soaked shirt and tucked it in one of the outside pockets of his backpack. He was glad he had decided to wear basketball shorts today instead of his usual jeans, because it’s be a little hard to walk in them if they were drenched with the rain water. He played his iPod loudly in his ears as he walked along the path to nowhere. He hadn’t really planned on going any certain place, he just wanted to get away from Manuka today.
He had heard about this place, an island. He had thought it was just like a huge island with beaches all around, but he had been surprised when he came to find that it had more than just sunny beaches. There was something odd about this place, but he had yet to figure out what it was. it could be some of that weird supernatural stuff Kentley had told him about. All of it kind of scared him, and he would rather stay far away from anything supernatural because it was all too unreal to think about. The whole witchcraft and werewolves and vampires. They were all mythological and completely unreal. He just couldn’t fathom how much he had been living with his entire life. No matter how much he tried to come to terms with it, he just couldn’t.
Kale walked over a small hill and looked down at a small village. The rain had begun to slow itself and he could finally see out clear in the distance ahead. He figured that it was a good place to stop. He could probably find some kind of market or something to get some food. Maybe a restaurant or something to eat at. It wasn’t a big village, but they had to get food from somewhere. Kale headed in that direction and when he reached the village, he looked around for somewhere to get food. He scratched his stomach when he finally found the market. He grabbed an orange, a banana, and a bottle of water. “Thank you.” He said in a slow Southern drawl when he exchanged money for the food. He turned and practically ran straight into a girl behind him. “Sorry.” He said and smiled.
ooc: figured she could just be the girl he almost runs into?

The young demon girl hadn't even thought about it, but she had become soaked to the bone. Her weight seemed to of doubled with her wet clothes. She was strong enough to not even realize and besides, being a demon, she was typically always feeling very warm, the cool was rather relaxing. Normally, she would like about herself being a creature of the unknown. Naussica had come to conclude it would be best to continue lying. After all, she was a demon; a very unwelcoming creature.
She walked right into the village, happy to be there after the long walk that she had to take in order to get there. She could already see plenty of witches and warlocks who were selling odd things on the sides of the streets with carts. She walked up to one; a scary looking woman. "Are you interested in buying? I have-" The conversation was quick and proffesional and the woman bought from her several items with gold. After that, she walked over to a food market and looked for something she could eat. Most were selling fruits and vegetables. Although, Naussica managed to find a shop selling meats and bought a very plain and uncooked, fist sized, chunk of cow meat. She had no need to cook it and if someone asked, she was a werewolf. The young girl simply took a massive bite out of it, then, practically unhinged her jaw and shoved it down. It was a rather normal of way of eating; to devour things in seconds.
It was then that someone bumped into her and she stumbled a bit. The red head turned around to chew him out, but quickly changed her mind; perhaps it would be wiser to not try to get into a fight here. She had to remember, she wasn't with humans anymore. "It's alright," She said to the young boy.
OOC: Thanks for posting~

Kale looked at the girl with fiery red hair. An interesting sort of color, but it looked pretty on her. He took a look at her eyes and noticed that they were just as red as her hair. He took a step back and remembered what his sister had told him about people with red and violet eyes. Demons had red eyes, witches and warlocks had violet eyes. Kale had met some of those weird people that liked those colored contacts though, so maybe she was one of those people. But she didn’t look like it. She looked too beautiful to wear those weird contacts. He looked down at her carrying some sort of sack with her.
“Sellin’ somethin’?” he asked and nodded to her satchel. He already had a few pieces of fruit, but he could go for something more. He was a little wary though being around someone that could possibly be a demon. Kale wasn’t the type of person to judge someone when first meeting them though, so he couldn’t jump to conclusions about this red head. He just looked at her like he was any other person she’d meet and tried not to look at her like she was going to attack him.
Because, yes, he thought every supernatural was like that. He had been told the stereotypes of every supernatural and they all scared him. The fact that mermaids weren’t the sweet, loving creatures Disney had put them out to be kind of ruined any type of fantasy about Ariel the mermaid. Funny how she had red hair and this girl had red hair. He hadn’t noticed it before, but that could possibly be a turn on. Funny how things sort of just came to you when you weren’t trying to figure them out. Kale was still in the dark about being a firetamer just like his sister though. And he wouldn’t find out for a while. All of the supernatural world was so new to him and all of it scared him. he was just afraid that one of those creatures would want to kill him for something he didn’t even know he had done.

Naussica examined the boy, trying to make a connection to what exactly he was; doing a great job to not stare at his chest. She was a woman, who's to say she didn't like men? He didn't fit any exact profile for any creature she could think of. It wasn't always easy to figure out what someone was within' the first few seconds of meeting them. She grabbed the top of the sack and lifted it. "Yeah, herbs and things of that sort," She said to the boy. "Not sure if I would have anything that would interest you, though." She opened the sack and pulled out the last three bundles of items she had; poppyseeds, known to cure stomach aches, dark green strawberries, often told to be a good way to get a bad taste out of any medicine or poison, and a few tiny pumpkins, she heard all sorts of tales on those.
One of Naussica's special methods of gathering money was simply to gather rare and valuable items from villages or forests as she crossed the continent. Her coming to the island was in order to sell this stuff, mainly. But, she also was confident she could find some leads from other demons who had gone to hell and back. Unfortunetly, it meant she could only sell things for gold. She simply had assumed that he already knew that; if he had made it here. He was, most likely, from the city; but she appeared so, as well. She was wearing a thick, black hoodie. She had let the hood down upon entering town and let her waist length hair free. Her pants were knee length, black cargo shorts, and her shoes were simple, black skate shoes. She had been rather confident she would be confused for another creature, since demons were not always welcomed.
Naussica placed the items she planned to sell back into her little bag and smiled at the boy, "Bye now," She said calmly and turned to leave, but then, something caught her eye. A red as bright as her hair and eyes errupted into the sky; a large wheel of fire that spung into the air, then vanished. Within' seconds, buildings were being set on fire. People began screaming and running from the burning buildings. Instinctively and desperatly, Naussica looked around, trying to find the one setting the fires.

Kale looked down at the few items she was holding and couldn’t say he was at all interested in any of them. He had never been much into pumpkins or anything pumpkin really, so nothing she was holding was of any interest to him. Kale shrugged his shoulders and noted the heavy jacket she was wearing. He was actually hot right now. He had never really ever minded the cold weather since he was a kid. Both him and Kentley were like that, even if she was as skinny as a stick. Even in the cold weather, somehow he was in shorts and without a shirt. He just figured it was because he was hot natured and it was in the family or something.
Kale smiled charmingly and shook his head at the girl. “No thanks.” He said. He began walking and exited the village without noticing that everyone there had been a supernatural. He was so oblivious to it all around him and the fact that there were more supernaturals around him than just a few like he thought. "See ya, then." He began walking along the trail again to anywhere. He didn’t really know where he was going.
Suddenly he could smell wood and hay burning. He turned and saw buildings already tumbling down from the fire. He noticed the girl with the red hair looking around. Kale instantly rushed forward and grabbed her arm. “Come on!” he said loudly and pulled her away from a little house-like structure that soon came crashing down. He pulled her away from the village and looked back at it. “You okay?” he asked and looked down at her. She looked more angry than scared, which confused him. Kale looked back at the village which was still in a fiery rage. He looked back at her concerned. He wondered what had happened and if someone had set fire to the village purposefully.

Naussica prepared herself to get a move on. She had experienced something similiar to this a few months ago when a hunter tried to blow up a building with her inside it. Although, somebody suddenly grabbed her and yanked her away. She turned around to see the boy from earlier dragging her away from the village; Naussica had to start running in order to keep up with him, so he wouldn't drag her behind him. She tried to resist him, but he had already gotten her away from the flames that were smothering the small buildings.
Her eyes joined his gaze as she looked back at the burning village. She snarled a bit at the fire that was engulfing the town, and then turned to the boy. The sudden chill from the cold weather turned into a fiery warmth from the flames. "I appreciate your hospitality, but we have to put the flames out! Don't treat me like I'm... weak!" She was growing a little angry with the boy, but couldn't find the right words to scold him; seeing that he only seemed to have good intentions. Immediently, Naussica set both her bags on the ground and slipped her hoodie off to reveal a thick, black tank top that properly covered her small chest.
"Help me, will you?" She asked the boy, "This was no accident," and immediently turned around and headed back to the village. She hadn't a clue who to expect; why would someone want to burn down the village? She doubted a hunter would chase her out here; it had to be a firetamer.

Kale couldn’t believe that a fire had broken out. The girl seemed set on going after whoever had started it, but that was too dangerous. “You must be jokin’, right?” he asked, his slow words almost like molasses. He watched her undress from her heavy sweat shirt, and looked down out of pure manly instinct at her chest. She wasn’t the most well-endowed girl, but he had seen worse. He looked back up at her red eyes and looked at her confusingly. “Help you?” He asked, but by the time he had questioned her, she had run off towards the village.
Kale started after the red head and caught up to her easily. His long legs provided to be useful, and he stopped her again. “Why you goin’ back. You’re safe now. Why ain’t you keepin’ it like that?” he asked unbelief coming over him by what he saw. Why would someone perfectly safe be going back into a fire. Especially a woman. He never understood the whole feminist thing going on in the world today. Women should just face the fact that they won’t ever be as good as men at some things.
It wasn’t that he was against a woman doing anything, but they weren’t as strong as men, no matter how hard they tried. He thought women were kind of over the top about wanting to be equal to men in every single way. No woman he had ever seen heard of, or met had ever been capable of doing as good a job in government as a man. They thought with their emotions too much instead of objectively. And somehow it seemed like this red head was doing the same thing.

"Jockin?" She said, her word slurred out of her mouth in her German tone; usually she was rather good at keeping her accent quiet. "Why would I be joking?" She asked, more relaxed, but still serious and alert at the current situation. She headed towards the village, expecting to be alone, seeing that the boy had no interest in assisting her. Although, he suddenly was following her. She kept walking, but turned her head to face him. "I'm plenty strong 'nough to take care-besides, someone has too." It wasn't a matter of being a demon, or a female, or young, it was because she had been raised to act; not to sit around and expect someone else to. "If you're scared, just stay behind."
Ahead, Naussica saw that a couple locals had stopped and were fighting what seemed to be a fire tamer. The two locals were warlocks, defending their village against a tall, scrawny man wearing thin, gray pants and a long, black over coat. He was shirtless, showing off how scrawny he was. His hair was a powerful red color hanging above his shoulders. His entire stature gave Naussica the creeps. Easily, he manipulated the flames of the burning buildings and used the fire to scorch the two warlocks. Naussica stepped forward, preparing to fight him.

Kale was so confused by this girl. He had never met someone so set on helping someone even though she could die. Weren’t there firefighters or something, someone else to help the village. Surely they hadn’t left themselves so vulnerable to a natural disaster like fire. He stared blankly at her as if she were some kind of crazy person. “I ain’t scared.” He said matter-of-factly and walked with her back towards the village. When they crept over the small hill again, he saw three men. Two were standing near each other, and another by himself.
He noticed the man standing by himself throwing what seemed like flames out of his hands. He stopped suddenly and gulped down the fear that struck him so suddenly. He was one of those things…a fire-something like Kentley, his sister. He blinked, trying to figure out what the other two were and it struck him that they were both wizards—or warlocks, whatever, they were magical. He just stared at them and watched them work their magic on the firetamer. It was scary, but somehow enticing and he couldn’t look away.
“You ain’t seriously gunna go over there and try to get in a fight with them three, are you?” he asked pointing to the men. Who were now only a few yards away. He looked back at the red head and then to the three men again. There was no way in hell that he would go down there. That was just psychotic. Besides, did she really think that she could just hop right into a fight against three other guys and win? If she wanted to die, she could go right ahead and do it without him.

Naussica stopped and turned back to face the boy, she couldn't hold back a chuckle,"I'm not going to fight all three; I have to stop that pyro from destroying the village." She almost couldn't believe this stranger, why was he so worried about her? Most people just let her to her doom; even though she often had the upper hand, being a creature of hell. "Why are you so worried?" She asked him, but then turned back to the three fighting. The two warlocks were attempting to protect their village from the firetamer, but were losing. She couldn't do nothing, it was almost like her duty to protect.
"Just assume that I can take care of almost anything, this is a land for creatures-you can't possibly be hu-... You're not human, right?" It was then that she began to wonder if his fear was because he was human. How could he possibly be? It was unlikely, too unlikely. "Nevermind..." She suddenly said. "If I die, you can have my stuff," She said to the boy, then turned towards the red head firetamer. The warlocks had vanished and he was approaching them.

Kale no longer looked at her like she was crazy, he looked at her like she was a complete fucking psycho. There was no way she would be able to even beat the firetamer, he had fire on his side and she had nothing. Unless she really was a demon. Her questioning if he was a human was an obvious sign that she wasn’t a human herself, so that could only mean that she was a demon. He was becoming even more wary and almost took a step back from her, but didn’t want to seem like a complete pussy, so he stayed where he was.
He almost laughed when she said that if she died he could have her stuff. She was really going to die for some village in which she didn’t live. He didn’t understand her heroism, but he wasn’t going to stop her from trying to defend some random village. He looked back to where the three men had been fighting earlier, but noticed the two warlocks gone and the firetamer coming right at them. “Aw you gotta be shittin’ me.” He said mostly to himself. “Sorry.” It was just a habit to apologize after cursing in front of a woman. He hadn’t done so in forever, but seeing that…monster coming towards them made him even more frightened. He had no idea what he was going to do now. He was torn between just turning around now and leaving and staying here just in case the girl got hurt or something.

Naussica looked back at the stranger and narrowed her eyes at him, "Stop looking at me like that," She snapped at him. She could only imagine what was running through the boy's head at this moment. She couldn't make everyone understand her, now could she? She never concidered herself a hero, but always felt her immortal soul gave her an important boost. Of course, she could always be killed, but wasn't always too worried about dying; it wasn't the scariest thing in the world.
Naussica stood her ground and snarled at the approaching firetamer. She knew her demon side would come out soon, assuming that she would have to fight this guy. She always felt there was a reason for everything; he had to have some sort of reason to attacking this village, she just had to find out what it was. Although, before she could even ask him questions, he lifted his arm, within' seconds, a wave of fire came around from behind him and swarmed at Naussica and the boy behind her. She turned around and shoved the boy out of the fire's reach and then jumped out of the way herself. Naussica reached for a random object on the ground, gripping a circular metal object and powerful threw it at the man. It hit him in the head and he began to bleed, but it only seemed to make him angry. He looked to Naussica, "Very well, then, get in my way..."

Kale shook his head and tried to make his facial expressions more normal instead of distorted to look at her like she was crazy, but he couldn’t manage it well enough. “Sorry, but you are kinda on the crazy side if you ask me.” He shrugged and looked back at the firetamer facing them, ready for battle. He looked at him worried, but unwilling to move. He couldn’t let a girl seem more courageous than him. and he couldn’t just leave her there alone to burn alive alone. He had been taught differently, and one thing he had been taught was to stand up for what was right, even if facing a firetamer was what he had to do. He was just as stubborn in his ways as Kentley, and never backed out of what he thought was right.
He sighed a little and watched the firetamer advance on them. He almost whimpered from the fear that had struck him, but he held it back and tried not to look so vulnerable. Next thing he knew, the red head was shoving him out of the way of the flames that flew out of his hands. He hit the ground with a hard thump and looked up at the man who was now going after the little red head. He stood and watched as she threw some kind of rock and throwing it at the man. He seemed to get even angrier then, and said something inaudible to her. He didn’t know what to do then. If he should tackle the man, or do something else. He threw off his bag and sighed heavily. Never coming back here... he thought and started off for the firetamer. He tackled him to the ground. He was expecting the man’s skin to be burning hot, but it was no warmer than his own. Before he could think about doing anything next, the firetamer kicked him off and rolled away throwing fire at him. He barely dodged it and cursed under his breath. What had he gotten himself into?

Naussica looked back at the stranger, wondering what exactly was running through his little mind. He seemed very frightened. She wondered if he would run if she told him too. Honestly, she almost couldn't believe his fear; had he no spine? But then, he surprised her and charged for the enemy firetamer. Naussica could almost feel the eyes of the citizens of this village watching the battle. She sighed, knowing that she would ultimately be happy for doing what was right.
"Focus your anger on me... I promise I am much more of a challenge than he is!" She called out to the firetamer, sounding very strong and fearless. She wanted him to be afraid of her and to expect that she was a great threat. Her claws and fangs began to sharpen as she prepared for battle. Naussica's bright red eyes turned black and she snarled at him, a powerful growl, clearly not human. The firetamer lifted an arm and Naussica charged him. A large flame came hurling towards her from the man. She kept running, as fast as she could, right through the fire and rammed her body into the man's.
He grabbed her arms and tossed her aside. Her small body skid against the ground, but she immediently jumped up and was running at him once more. She brought her arm back and punched him as hard as she could, making him spit up blood. But then, he hit her back, and sent her to the ground. She rolled away, then stood up and stared him down. A cut appeared on her brow, but immediently healed and vanished.

Kale wasn’t what you would call an aggressive person. He was more of a pacifist actually. Really the only time he had ever gotten in a fight was when he had been at a party and some guy was too drunk and touching his girl the wrong way when they were clearly not desiring it. So tackling a random guy—a firetamer—was almost unheard of. But he couldn’t let the girl go into a fight without some kind of protection. Even if she was strong enough to take care of herself, it was still the right thing to do. If he didn’t help her, he would feel like such complete shit. So he tackled the firetamer and rolled away after he thrust him off. He heard the girl calling the firetamer over to her. He didn’t understand why she would want the attention on herself, but when he looked up and saw her…well her demon self come out, he stared at her in astonishment.
Kale would never admit it out loud, but he was really actually very afraid of anything supernatural. The fact that someone could control fire, or that someone had fallen from heaven, or that a person could drink a human’s blood…all of it seemed so unreal and scary that he just could barely comprehend it all. Well, he wasn’t one of the smartest kids in the world, but still, the whole ordeal of everything supernatural being real was too much to handle. Really, who would ever believe him if he told them that demons lurked around in the real world? No one. Because he wouldn’t have, either. But the illusion was shattered after Kentley had discovered that she was actually one of them. It was scary thinking that he lived with one of them.
Kale watched the two supernaturals fight, but only stood instead of jumping in to fight with her against the firetamer. Honestly he didn’t really want to get in the middle of them. She was obviously one of them, because when he hit her, the wound immediately healed. He looked at her with wide eyes. He really had no idea what he was going to do.
