However, much to her dismay, the beauty was up bright and early. Groaning in a rather unladylike manner, the seventeen-year-old forced herself from her warm bed covers. The girl immediately slipped on a pair of fur-lined slippers (fake fur, thank you very much), and made her way into the kitchen. She, like anybody like her, was practically starving. Rubbing the sleep from her eyes, she blindly staggered to the pantry. Once there, arriving with minor bumps and bruises, she carefully took down a box of Frosted Flakes and poured herself a bowl. After replacing the cereal in its rightful spot, beside the Honey Nut Cheerios, she grabbed a carton of milk from the refrigerator and eagerly poured it into the bowl. Sighing, she put the milk back and walked over to the coffee maker. Instead of making coffee, she simply used it to heat the water. Blinking a few times, she began to spoon some cereal into her mouth. Sighing, she felt her face light up as the little blinker indicated that her water was ready. Holding back a squeal of pleasure, after all, it was still six-thirty in the morning, she put down her half-empty bowl and launched herself at the stash of tea bags that she had. She grabbed a mug and filled it with water, smiling as the steam hit her face. Warm, she placed the tea bag in the mug and gently assisted in the permeation of flavor. Grinning, she ate a few more bites of cereal, until the bowl was completely empty, save for a few crumbs and some milk residue. Finished, the girl placed the bowl in the kitchen sink, wincing as the clank resonated in her sensitive ears. Once her tea was ready, Jesse Lynn Callahan grabbed the mug and carefully traveled back to her room, beverage in hand. Shaking out her hair with her free hand, the werewolf placed her hot drink on her dresser before staring up at her closet. Grumbling to herself, the girl sighed and pulled a pair of jeans from a drawer. Her pajama pants came off, as did her underwear. They were replaced with new undergarments and her gray jeans. After taking a sip of her tea, she returned to her closet and scoured the racks. Snatching a pink, gray and black top, she slipped it on over her head. Manuka fall weather was most certainly not the ideal climate to be wearing a strapless top, so a semi-thick coat was soon draped over her shoulders. The probability of Jesse Lynn removing the jacket was, frankly, zero percent out of one hundred. She loved her chic coats, especially when they served a great purpose. Sipping more of her tea, the teen smiled as she could feel the warm liquid run down her throat and fill her belly. Sighing contentedly, the girl placed the ceramic mug back on her dresser and slipped on a pair of boots. Buckling them, she quickly got up and grabbed her mug precariously by the handle. She traveled to the bathroom, which was a whole five feet away, and took yet another sip of her tea, whose supply was severely depleted. After running a comb through her long hair, Jesse Lynn finally decided on leaving it down. After all, it would keep her neck warm. After brushing on a touch of makeup, the girl smiled softly at her reflection and ran a hand through her slightly tousled hair. After slipping on a few bracelets and a necklace, the teen walked out of the washroom. Her gait was fast-paced and though she looked nice, she wasn't dressing to impress. Blinking slowly, the beauty took her finished tea and placed it in the sink in the kitchen. Smiling, she returned to her room and unplugged her iPhone. Slipping it into the bag that was precariously hanging off of the end of her nightstand, she grabbed a pack of smokes from beneath her pile of pillows. They were always stacked in the corner of her room, so where else would she hide secrets? Sighing again, she walked out of the room, confidence emanating off of her in waves. As she neared the entrance of the house, she grabbed a scarf from the top rack and slipped it around her neck. With that, she was out the door and half-way down the street, hair flying in the wind. The girl paused to tie the scarf around her neck, to keep the oncoming winter chill away and she instinctively pulled her coat tighter against herself. Her cheeks were becoming rosy from the cold, and her lips were beginning to chap, despite the balm that she had earlier applied. Still, the weather felt wonderful. Finally arriving at the park, she let out a soft sigh of happiness and sat down on one of the swings. None of the kids were out playing at the moment, so she had the large park to herself, or at least the playground. Crossing her ankles, she softly pushed herself back and forth on the swing and grinned at the comforting feeling that surrounded her. Reaching into her bag, she quietly pulled out a lighter and a cigarette. If Aaron ever found out, he would kick her ass. Shaking her head, she lit the little white stick and brought it to her lips. Carefully holding it between her right index finger and thumb, just for security, she changed her grip from her hand to her mouth. Holding it with her teeth was just as secure, and she used her free hands to toss her lighter back in her purse and set her purse on the sand beside her. Inhaling deeply, the seventeen-year-old relaxed as the smoke filled her lungs. Puffing out, she watched as the white smoke rose and swirled in the air in an intricate dance. It curled from the tip of the cigarette and swirled upward slowly, but beautifully. |
