Declan is a very happy-go-lucky kind of guy. He reeks of innocence, which could be good or bad. All he wants is to have a good time. He's extremely loyal and faithful, and his ultimate goal in life is to have no regrets. That, and find someone to spend the rest of his life with. He loves going out, whether it be for a nice jog or a good party. He's a sports nut, so he's always running aroundwhich is why he has such an amazing body. He's always randomly breaking out into song or dance, and he can really change the mood in the room to make people want to get up and dance with him.
He's pretty independent, and he likes living on his own. Along with all that, he's pretty sarcastic and witty, which could be good or bad. He can definitely take care of himself, and doesn't mind throwing a couple punches to prove a point. Sometimes he acts without thinking, which, again, could be good or bad. Depends on the outcome. He loves proving people wrong, and because of that he's insanely smart and can outsmart just about anyone, even if he's wrong. If that even makes sense.

Declan was born into a happy, healthy family. He was an only child, and his parents spoiled the crap out of him. He grew up a pretty popular kid, and the class clown. But he was a straight A student. He was never really serious about anyone until he met Rose. He fell head over heels for her, and they started going together during Sophomore year. They were happy, until she randomly broke up with him near the end of Senior year. He was crushed, and went into a rather intense state of depression over the summer.
He got really into drugs around the middle of summer, relying on them to get him through. One night, he was home alone and he wanted to just end it all. So he overdosed. Luckily his parents got home a few minutes after he lost consciousness. They rushed him to the hospital, where they had to pump his stomach and do a lot of other various things to bring him back. It was after that when he got a lust for life. He realized he wanted to live, and live he did. He became the most social guy around and he slowly crept his way back to the top of the list.
He was actually at a party when he was changed into a werewolf. He had had a few drinks too many and he was trying to get this one random girl to go upstairs with him. He got her into one of the bedrooms, but this girl wasn't having it. She bit him on the arm, forgetting completely what that would mean for Declan. She felt horrible about it, so she stayed with him as his girlfriend while he went through the first couple of transformations. After he was able to handle himself, she left town.
