Friends are going to be a big part of Owen's life and, as he is a genuinely kind and loving person, he will hopefully have many. This is the most likely spot for you, as Owen gets along with just about anyone who gets along with him, although his sarcasm can jeopardize that sometimes.

Enemies are the people who don't like Owen for the reasons that nobody can fathom. As well as his sarcastic attitude and his habit of speaking his mind, people find other reasons to dislike him, which upsets him beyond belief, seeing as he's a sensitive person who tries to treat everyone equally,but... everyone needs someone to hate.

Owen is a very strong-minded person with a habit of making his opinions known and being quick to use sarcasm as a weapon or a joke, depending on the circumstance. As a twenty one year old merman living on land, he is trying to settle into life out of the sea, but he is finding it difficult. He attention is drawn by nearly every man he sees, which is annoying when you're on a mission to find your soulmate. Luckily, he's kept himself pure and is still a virgin, but he is becoming impatient and may resort to drastic lifestyle changes in the future. His idea of love is long walks on the beach, snuggling by the fire and singing bad karaoke to each other, but when he meets his one true soulmate, his perception will change entirely...

HI THERE! Welcome to Nightmare, first and foremost. We're very happy to have you here. So, I'll warn you that I have 18 characters, and I could throw all of them in here, but for the moment, I'll jot down a few ideas that might help get us started on some threads together. If you'd like to take a look at my characters for a reference point, or to come up with any other ideas for my children with your new baby. Anyway, here goes! THEON: Okay, so I have two ideas for these two, actually. 1) Theon's straight, but there's definitely a strong chance that a lot of people would read him as gay, and I can totally see him throwing off Owen's gaydar. Maybe your guy gets the courage to go hit on Theon, and he ends up being all 'aww, shucks – flattered' and they end up being friends from there? Or 2) Theon's a hopeless romantic, and they seem to have quite a bit in common personality-wise, but I could see Theon being a close friend for him, and super protective as well. He's a fallen angel, and he's going to end up on the light side ultimately, because he fell due to trusting the wrong person and being betrayed, and didn't actually do anything bad. So, he's trying to make amends and be sort of like an earthbound angel, and while he's usually pretty anti-conflict, I could see him jumping in to save Owen from a bad situation, and they could become friends from there, too, depending on how you'd rather go... but definitely these two should interact.

REMINY: I know he doesn't care for women romantically, and even though my vampire here is bisexual, she has a tendency to lean toward female lovers, and is going to end up with a woman, but I can see her thinking that he's super adorable and charming, and would just want to snuggle him and make sure that nobody hurt him, ever. She's going to have some conflict in which way to go – light vs. dark – because of her final, but really, she's old-fashioned and a Southern belle type who would love him as a shopping buddy, so.

JOEY: Can these two be awesome Team Rainbow friends together? Joey knows like, literally zero other gay people (except her brother, who I have a want ad for), and I think that he'd remind her of Ryan so much, it's ridiculous. And, it might be interesting for him to hang around a human who knows absolutely zilch about the supernatural world. He might actually be one of very few people who she doesn't turn into a completely awkward turtle around...

ADAM: BAHAHAHAHA, I WANT HIM TO CRUSH ON ADAM SO HARD. Is he in college? Adam's a college professor, (teaches Ancient History and Mythology) and he's a totally straight womanizer, but he's got nothing against gay people, and he doesn't sleep with his students anyway. Maybe someone's picking on him at school, and Adam hears about it, and then an unrequited crush on Owen's part ensues, and then Adam has to give him 'the talk,' but ends up continuing to look out for him in the long run. Also, Adam's doing research on the supernatural community, so he'd probably want to pick Owen's brain about where he grew up, because that kind of information would be so interesting for him.

KENNEDY: She would fuck with him so hard. Like, I don't know if she'd be torn by trying to seduce him because he'd read to her like a little pansy flower, and then being pissed off by the fact that he's not into her that way and beat the shit out of him, or if she'd hunt him for sport to try to convince the other hunters that she's still on their side. She's not. She's a double agent working for the dark side, because she thinks supernaturals are superior to humans. ANYWAY, she's brutal, and I don't think she'd be very nice to Owen, but if you want some conflict, we could discuss this. Because right now, 99% of my babies think he's a snuggle muffin and want to forever shield him from harm.

VINCENT: Likewise, Vincent would want to kill him or maim him in brutal, terrifying ways, and even though he's a pretty man, your guy should probably stay far, far away from my guy over here.

FINN: This would be a protective older brother relationship for sure, but depending on if they have the same interests, I could see them getting along.

MAX: Max is transgender (FTM), and he's straight, but definitely he would want to know more people in Manuka's LGBT community, and he'd probably even want to be Owen's wingman if they got close, help him find a decent guy that would treat him well, that kind of thing. Max is a super sweet, gentleman type, and he mostly hangs around with women (mostly because he's afraid of what biological men would think of him), so hanging out with Owen might be a lovely change of pace.
