OVERALL
Shay. He is one hell of a character, and he'll make sure you know it. Being a Warlock was very helpful in becoming a doctor, because cures came easily to him but Shay can't pretend that he is not intelligent. Intelligence is what got him to this profession in the first place, and the passion of proving that he could overcome things that are difficult, things that make him in control. However, this sort of luck and achievement has gone to his head more than he's like to think, but he carries an air of arrogance along with his designer clothing and the selfishness that it's all about him. He is a guy who adores attention, but he is rarely truthful. He craves it, the attention, but he would never be close to anyone, no one who he can reveal another side of him, because that's who Shay is. Arrogant and closed off.

However, Shamus can also be a very passionate guy. He can show affection, in truthfulness or in selfishness, truly or to get what he want's. He is quite manipulative and follows the dark side to the end. Though he can die like a human, he believes that it would be so much more helpful if they weren't the ones in control, that he didn't;t have to hide the magic that he uses to heal them. If he is selfish, then they are even more, although unknowingly so. Shay doesn't like to pretend that something is there when it isn't, or that there isn't anything there when there's clearly is. He is someone who will not beat around the bush, and will spit it out. Don't like it, your own fault. He doesn't like looking out for people unless he really cares about them, and there are people that he truly does care about. Sometimes, it is not all about him.

One thing that Shay hates is laziness. He could not imagine how anyone can cope being lazy, when he had worked so hard to be where he was now. He also hates secrecy, but he has accepted the fact that for him it is impossible, for what he is doing, who he is with, no one must know. His one desire is to be free of them, then he would accept what came next. He is very patient, Shay doesn't like to rush or rush others. He knows that there is plenty of time for everything, immortal or not. He fears immortality. That is quite peculiar to him, because he see's those people, the immortals, vampires and angels and he does not envy them, eternal youth is not one of his desires, it scares him to even think about ever becoming immortal, the thought of never finding true meaning to life. When the world ends, where will they go? He doesn't know, but he finds things like that such a scary, but curious matter.

What seems like a very long twenty-five years ago, Shamus Archer Venusi was born to Margaret and Aidan Venusi. As a child, wherever he went, Shay was always and outcast. In kindergarten, at school, because he could do things. Things that normal people couldn't. Because he had purple eyes, and from the age of four, he knew he was different. The teasing, the bullying had gotten to him because eh was not like them. Back then he didn't know what he could do, his father had disappeared the moment that Shay was born therefore there was only his mother who he didn't think of asking about what was wrong with him. She had violet eyes too. He thought it was normal because he was so young and didn't know any better.

Highschool was not any better, he was an awkward gangly teen. Always the outcast, someone who watched from the sidelines. But he never felt envy for the popular kids, because they were fake and Shay had always stayed tru to himself. He had resorted to studies, to studying the human body, illnesses and medicines acing all the classes he needed to start a course in becoming a doctor. He was glad to leave the people who he had shared classes with for five years, because they were time wasters that only follow the crowd, people who bullied him and he was glad to see the backs of them when he had left for university at eighteen. He had moved away, still not knowing that he was a warlock, that his mother was from a long line of witches and her father, a human, had been captured by the dark side of the war. Shay knew he was talented, but he didn't know that magic within his veins was helping him do that.

However, at the age of twenty, he could not take the stares any more. Not having met anyone that was even remotely similar to him, Shay was fed up. He came back to visit his mother, and he asked her right out and he didn't like the answer. By then, his studies in medicine had been going so so well, his attitude changing, his appearance becoming more developed and better looking. He was growing arrogant, and he didn't want such knowledge to ruin his reputation. He refused to acknowledge the fact that he had magic in his family until a patient of his was dying a few years after graduation, and he turned to his mother to find a spell to help them survive. He was selfish, but he would do his job and not let the human die. It would be so unethical of him, and from then, he loved the potions. The feel of the magic working, knowing that he could sue it to his advantage. He started to study it at twenty three.

That was when he met his girlfriend, and they hit it off, but not a few months later a boy came into his office and it was like it had changed his life. The boy, Calan, had become attatched to Shay, and his cokiness puched him to see how much of the dark side the boy could bare. When their messed up relationship turned more serious, Shay got a little scared, and was glad when he got called in to work at a hospitasl a few thousand miled away for a year and a half. To leave Calan, telling him that it was not for forever, that he was too young and that Shay was taking advantage of a fourteen year old boy and it was wrong. A nine year gap was wrong, so he left with a sorry excuse of a goodbye. Shay doesn't know what life will bring him now that he is back, but he doesn't think that he has learnt from any of the lessons that life had tried to teach him.
