Trent really didn't have time for this right now. He was on his way to the gym and it would close in about an hour which didn't give him much time to get his normal routine done. But there it was again, that horrible yowling sound that you had to either be deaf or just stupid not to hear. Maybe it was just his enhanced sense of hearing but the sound seemed to be getting louder and more insistent the closer he grew to it. An alley was up ahead to his left and it was very clear that was where it was coming from. He was telling himself to just walk by and let whatever it was in there get itself out of whatever predicament it had got itself into.
He would have been good, was practically just about past the alley, when curiosity got the better of him (a common occurrence for the werewolf) and he peeked right before he walked all the way by. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Because as soon as he saw the owner of that pathetic yowling he couldn't seem to make himself keep going. A small kitten was currently rolling around on the ground fighting with the netting it was currently caught in. "Really, dude?" He sighed to no one in particular, though the rhetorical question was aimed at the furry little fellow in the alley. Back pedaling a little he stepped towards the kitten who finally stopped struggling long enough to notice this human approaching him.
Clearly his experiences with them hadn't been very good so far because he hissed as soon as Trent even got within three feet of him. Raising and eyebrow Trent smirked a bit. "Oh so you're gonna be a tough guy huh?" Kneeling down in front of the kitten he ignored the continued hissing seeing as that was really all the little guy could do in his current position. "You'll thank me in a minute," Pulling a pocket knife out of his back pocket he flipped it open and began trying to figure out just where the easiest place to start on this mess would be. He'd managed to get his hand on the kitten's back and had it subdued a bit but it was only a few seconds before it started yowling again and started squirming like crazy. "Listen here buddy you aren't making this any easier by mov-"
His words were cut off abruptly as another sound entered the alley, a much bigger and deeper one this time. Closing his eyes in a 'of course this would happen to me' manner he slowly turned his upper body around until he was able to see the reason for the kitten's freak out a moment ago. One, two, three large and not at all friendly looking dogs stood less than ten feet away, lips curled into snarls. The brief thought of shifting on their asses passed through his mind but that really wasn't a great idea seeing as it was broad daylight and he was in the middle of the city. Also if he went into wolf form it would leave the kitten as dog bait. Moving oh so carefully he stood up, lifting the kitten in one hand and shutting the knife with the other, thinking fast. Damn, he really didn't want to do this but...
With quick flip of his wrist he threw the knife down the alley and it caught the dogs attention just as he had hoped and taking advantage of their distraction he bolted the other way. Unfortunately it didn't hold their attention quite as long as he'd hoped and realizing they were gonna catch up before he could even get out of the alley he thought quick and jumped to grab the lowest rung of a fire escape ladder bolted to one side of the building making a wall of the alley. Tucking the kitten in the front pocket of his hoodie he pulled himself up with the three dogs leaping and snapping at his feet, rather pleased that all those chin ups had actually done some good. Hauling himself up on the bottom level of the fire escape he glanced down at the loudly barking dogs as they jumped and circled below. "Hah suckers,"
Despite the cocky sound to his voice though Trent was already wondering how long he'd be sitting up here. Glancing down at the little fluffy face peeking out of his pocket he pursed his lips. "This is all your fault you know," It gave an unhappy little meow and he huffed. "No appreciation at all. Why do people even keep you as pets," As soon as he was out of here he was dropping it off at the humane society that was for sure.
