My dear father,
it pains my heart to tell you that I've eloped so that I can be with Tyler. I know that you didn't find him a proper suitor for me, and that I have ashamed the family by running away, but I love him, and nobody but him. I don't care that he's nothing more but the son of two mere factory workers, and that our wealth and social status would never allow me to marry someone like him, but I have. I did marry him. I know we're young, and that you do not agree and that I can never come home again now, but it was worth it. Tyler makes me feel a way that I've never felt before and he has from the very beginning. I don't think I could ever find such happiness with anybody else. I am sorry daddy, terribly sorry that you had to go through this and all the pain I have caused you and mother, and I don't expect you to write me back, but I want you to know that the main reason I wrote you, is because I want to tell you that I'm pregnant, and that we are keeping the baby. In a couple of months, Ty and I will have our firstborn child, and you will have your first grandchild, daddy. I can't say I've ever been as happy as I'm now, despite the fact that my heart is aching to see you all again. I'm sorry for what I did, and I love you.
Yours sincerely,
Frederique Hemsworth
II. BUNDLE OF JOY
An eery cry was what called Tyler back to the reality after a horror labor that his Frederique had been going through, in such a way that it felt as if it would never end, and things would just have to keep on going. He remembered how she had called out to him, that she couldn't take it anymore, and that she wanted it to stop now. But they couldn't and all he could do, was sit there and hold her hand, telling her she had to push through and that he was here for her, that he wouldn't leave her and that he'd help her. They had been through so much together that adding this would not be a problem, they would get through this like they got through everything. Together.
His Frederique and him.
Never before had he seen such a beautiful woman as the day he was in London for the first time (traveling from Dublin to see more of the world), and saw her entering the Opera House. She was so far out of his league that Tyler did not even address her as he went in to see the show, having saved for years to go on this trip. His parents were poor factory workers and his dad was a drunk, who had loose hands and made Tyler take care of him all the time. He had been so sick and tired of that, that he had decided to save up all his money and one day, he knew that one day he'd be able to travel from Ireland to England, make some money there and that's how he'd continue his journey, traveling around the world, discovering the world. But Frederique Hansen changed his heart, and then his mind and his plans. He saw her and he couldn't stop staring at her, finding her eyes on him the entire time. There was something between them, the chemistry and the way he kept meeting her eyes every time he looked at her. After the show, he addressed her anyways, because the way he felt their chemistry, and it seemed to be mutual. Only then, there was her father, a very rich official on London, who did not want his daughter to socialize with men of his caliber, and sent him away. Not once did the boy think that he'd see her again, but once again, she had surprised him by finding him. They began their secret romance, fraternizing in his tiny apartment, sneaking through the alleys of London. He showed her his world, and in return they stayed away from hers, the world she hated so much.
And in the end, when her father found out and forbid her to ever see Tyler again, it had been too late. Ty had already fallen in love with his Frederique and the feeling was mutual, so nothing could stop them anymore, and they ran away from London, settling down in France. It was a hard life for her, because she had to get used to not having any money, and working for her life, but they managed, she managed because she wanted to be with him. She was truly the love of his life, and the only person who made him feel whole and complete. They married the moment they got in Paris, and now here was their next milestone. Their first child. A beautiful baby girl with her mother's eyes and face and everything about her were all the parts he loved about his wife. She was perfect. And maybe they were only eighteen, their child was perfect. Their life was perfect, even if it wasn't ideal the way most people would want to see it. Maybe Ty didn't have a lot of money, but he sure of hell was very rich when it came to love. And that was most important for him. "Do you want to hold her, chere?" Frederique asked him, holding up their tiny little bundle of joy to him, and of course Tyler wanted to. "Of course, love. Give her to me." A bright smile lit up his face as he held his little daughter in his arms for the first time, not knowing there wouldn't be many more times to come. "My dear Catherine. Welcome to this world."
III. THE THREE YEAR LAW
Nothern France, 1913
To my dearest wife,
not a day goes by in which I do not miss you. It's cold out here, even colder than in the London's winters, and sometimes I can hardly breathe because you're not here next to me. You and Cathy of course. At times like those I damn the French government for putting their Three Year Law into works, and forcing us to join their army to prepare for war. War, they say it like something you should want to have, as if we strive for war, but I think war is useless. They should just let us go home, let me go home, and back to your and our lovely daughter. But we do need the money, and I'm glad that I can provide for our family, even if it means I have to be away from you for so long.
You're my sun and the moon and the stars and whenever I look up at the sky, I think about you and the first time I saw you. I forget those military things and the way the commander yells at us, and all I can see are the glitters in your eyes from the very first time I met you. That memory gets me through every difficult day and every better day too, and I'm so happy with the pictures of Cathy that you keep sending me, she's growing so fast it's unbelievable. I love you, Freddie, I love you so much it hurts, and I'd give anything to be there with you right now. To be a proper father for my daughter, to be a proper husband for you. Just take care of yourself love, because I can't miss you in my life. I need you. Without you my life would be more worthless than a pound in Austria-Hungary.
Here everything is going following the routine, the way it always does. Lately some people in my group have become a little ill, but I don't think it's anything serious, so we just try to nurse them a bit because the commanders sure as hell aren't nice at all. I still have this ugly cough for a couple of days now that burns in my chest, but once again, I don't think it's anything serious, so I'm just going on with my training and doing whatever the commanders say we have to do, even if it is so freezing cold here and there is still snow on the ground. Sometimes I get tired of all this physical training and my body aches for only you can give me; love and affection, even from afar, so you must know how much I love you and how much I care for you, and how much your letters brighten my day every day again. And because you asked me to, I will see the doctor about that cough, it'll be fine.
I love you, my dear, and hope to see you very soon again.
Yours sincerely,
Tyler Hemsworth
IV. THE SECRET GUARDIAN
For years he had been doing this now. Watching silently from above, without saying a word or ever acknowledging his presence. Honestly he had to admit that it became easier and easier throughout the years, and that there wasn't as much of a sting anymore as there had been when he had been watching over his very own precious little girl, his own daughter who had to grow up without her daddy because he had died. Saying that still hurt, because it meant life went on without him, and he had seen a lot of horrors during his time as a guardian. He had seen how the love of his life had died from sadness after he had left her, how she couldn't stay standing for their daughter, how she just couldn't go on without him, much like he wrote to her in that letter: 'Just take care of yourself love, because I can't miss you in my life. I need you. Without you my life would be more worthless than a pound in Austria-Hungary.' And apparently she had felt the same, but it was unfortunate for their daughter, who ended up in a orphanage.
People often assumed that Tyler had died during the First World War when he said he died at the end of 1913, when he was 20, but that wasn't true, because he died before that, just before the war, because he got ill. During those days there was nothing you could do to save people from tuberculosis, and that was in the end what had killed him, not the war. The burning coughs as it seemed as if he was spitting out his lungs, the chest pain and the infections of his airways, that was what had driven him to the grave and didn't give him a choice but to leave behind the people he loved the most, his wife and his daughter. It was so hard for Tyler to not show himself to her, to not let little Catherine know that he'd always be there for her, watching over her shoulder, even if he couldn't full time be her father anymore, he would always protect her. But he didn't show himself to her, because he was afraid she'd deem herself mad, or would start telling other people about him and that they would deem her mad, whens he truly wasn't. So he watched over her in silence, longing for her touch and that clear laugh that tinkled like bells, and those glittering eyes that resembled her mother's so much turning to me and looking me in the eyes, but I couldn't do that, I couldn't allow my desires to destroy her life.
He watched her as she grew up, became a teen and lived the same life her mother and him did, falling in love with a very rich guy who seemed to love her, want to marry her and be with her.. Only that guy wasn't much like Freddie and him had been, and Catherine got abandoned, pregnant and alone, living on the streets much like he would have had if Frederique hadn't walked into my life. It hurt him to see her like that, but he couldn't interfere, he could only make sure that she was safe and that no one harmed her in a physical way, and the rest was her life. She gave birth to a son called Aaron, who carried his name is his middle name, but unfortunately his daughter died while giving birth to him. It was like losing Frederique all over again, a dark, gaping hole inside his heart that kept slamming around and destroying everything surrounding it. But his duty continued, as I came to watch over her newborn son, and saw him find a loving family who came to pick him up in the orphanage, and finally have a normal life.
But as the second World War came along, he died too, like so far anybody in Tyler's bloodline had died an early death, as if it was something he was to blame for. His grandchild had a daughter when he died, Elise, and once again Ty was assigned to be her guardian when the War had blown him to pieces in a way that even he couldn't prevent. Tyler was sure to be able to protect this girl, and as Hitler came and Hitler went, he finally got his hopes up that this one would survive for a longer period of time than he did, then his daughter did and than his grandson did. And she did, partially, living a happy life with her husband and a son, called Neil, and through a series of unfortunate events, Ty ended up being Neil's guardian over hers, because once again, the Hemsworth-bloodline has early deaths. When he watched Neil, Tyler noticed something he had never seen before, and realized now that it was good of him to not show himself to the humans. Neil, he was a hunter. He hunted supernaturals, werewolves and vampires, people like Tyler. Which was when Ty came to stand for his next big dilemma. Because how does one protect a person who wants to kill him? All he could do was try, but even Tyler couldn't prevent Neil from being killed, and his Father saw that, he had seen that Ty had fought so hard to protect his charge, but when Neil had turned himself against his guardian, it had been too late to save him.
Which brings us to Tyler's current charge, Neil's son, Ashton. The guardian has seen that Ashton is a good kid within his nature and his doubting and struggling to find the proper way in his life, but Ty does not interfere with his charge anymore unless he has to. Because he has also seen that Ashton is being trained to be a hunter, and his memories with hunters have not been good. But he has also seen Ashton's mission, and how deeply he is working himself into trouble, wading deeper and deeper into the troubled waters, soon unable to be pulled out. Tyler wants to help him, he really does, but he has yet to figure out what to do and how to help, without showing himself. [/div]
