feel something right and feel some good
because if one thing works you might know it's true
It was a quiet night for Benjamin, the bear in him waking up fully, grunting and sniffling around. It was the nocturnal side of him speaking, dying to get out and assume its true form instead of being stuck all the time at the back of his human mind. Fortunately, he had plenty of control over the animal side of him, and the chances of the bear in him coming out and unleashing itself was highly unlikely. Still, Bear noted how it was always more awake at night. While he it was drowsy during the day, sometimes even completely asleep, it was how he took advantage of it, sealing it and finished every task he had set for himself without feral interference. At night however, he usually was unable to sleep because the animal in him loved being so damn nocturnal. He wasn't complaining though.
The hairs at the back of his neck stood up as he walked cautiously through the dark alleyways, his keen senses constantly on alert. Why he decided to come here of all places Bear had no idea, but he had badly wanted to explode the older parts of Manuka just to satisfy his own curiosity. He wished that Sawyer was him so that they could look around together, but the fact that his brother didn't remember him sliced him at the very core of his heart, and he was pretty sure that his older brother had lived here long enough to know his way around town. It seemed for the time being that Sawyer didn't want to do anything with him. Bear would have asked Kinsley out with him for a midnight stroll, but he figured that the huntress had enough on her mind, what with her hobbies and taking care of his older brother. He didn't want to trouble the beautiful blonde any further, she was already having him under her roof. Her kindness he hoped to repay one day, for taking him in, and saving Sawyer.
The sounds of nearby fighting made him cock his head, looking curiously in the direction of the scuffles. Wondering if they needed his assistance, he followed the sounds of the fighting and came across a nasty sight. Four on one, what a terrible, unfair fight. He had been warned that these things happened recently in the old town, and he shouldn't take no notice, but Bear hated the numbers and the thought of someone being bullied in his sights. His mind made up, he approached them. There was a man in the middle, seemingly human enough as he didn't look as though he was bound to reveal any sort of special gift anytime soon, surrounded by four vampires by the scent of them. He was doing a good job keeping them at bay, but the speed and agility of the vampires prevented him from doing any major damage and from the looks of it, they were obviously toying with the poor man, poking and snapping at him, almost playfully. They were skilled, veteran fighters, all of them clearly looking for sport and entertainment. Bear didn't often get pissed, but pissed he did get at the unfairness of it all.
Stomping forward, the boy walked into the fight, grabbing a snarling vampire and throwing him into the nearby wall, with all the strength and ferocity he had (which was pretty nasty since he was a bear and all) Slipping into the center of the makeshift circle in which the other man was surrounded in, he stood with his back to the human, glancing over his shoulder to shoot him a faint grin. "Thought you could use some help. I hope you don't mind. I'm Bear."
