castle of glass, take me down to the river bend, take me down to the fighting end, wash the poison from off my skin, show me how to be whole again
The boy had reached the point of boredom where he was thinking about causing a fire just to see the chaos it would create. However the boy knew so much better than that. Instead of causing a giant fire, he made a small little flame dance around. Not causing harm to anyone bit the little white flame seemed to have a life of it’s own. Calan was so bored in this room he was going insane. His mother had just left and wouldn’t be back until later that night. Shay was working somewhere around in the hospital and he did stop by to say hello and now and then, other than that Calan was on his own most of the time. He was creating flames out of boredom, which was one reason, but another he wanted to make sure he was still a firetamer. Their fire came from within and getting a new heart made him think it was possible for him to lose his gift. Thankfully he didn’t. His fire seemed to be stronger and hotter than ever. Still white but now having a tint of purple in it.
Besides playing with fire, TV was really the only thing keeping him sane. He only had the food channel on and he would take notes seeing as how he loved to cook and he didn’t want to get rusty. It was like he was going to school for something he loved. Calan felt like he was missing out on everything by being stuck in this room that only a few people could enter the room that was a germ free zone. It sucked, he felt so boring and worthless to all who came to see him. Calan shook his head and snorted at himself. These stupid thoughts weren’t going to get him better faster and they certainly did nothing to make him feel better. Calan just wanted someone else to stop by, to see how he was going. Was that so much to ask for? He would go see his family members in the hospital. So far no one really came to see him.
The little ball of fire went out after a bit. His strength felt like it was being slowly but surely drained away by an unknown force. Maybe depression? Being locked in this little room for a long period of time could and would do a number on someone’s mental state that was for damn sure. Calan shifted a little bit and closed his eyes hoping he could be lulled away into sleep by pure silence. Which was doubtful considering to sleep Calan often had a box fan running simply for the noise and comfort. Shay also had a factor in his sleep, but he would need to remove that part and deal with it. Calan didn’t want to sleep though, he wanted to stay away and talk to someone. He just wanted someone close to him, he hated this silence and he hated being silent. For a moment his brown green eyes closed, but they snapped open when he heard the door to his hospital room open. He saw someone and grinned a bit, happy to see someone other than a nurse or doctor.
“Aw, Fletch. You actually came to see me?” He smirked weakly when seeing his cousin.

[style=background-image:url(http://i48.tinypic.com/awavpd.jpg); background-repeat:no-repeat; width:400px; height: 250px;] Break your little heart I'm walking, who's laughing now? I'm wasted, wasting time. You talk for hours, but you're wasting lines. A pretty face, but the chase ain't worth the price. I'm gonna break your little heart, watch you take the fall. Laughing all the way to the hospital, cause there's nothing surgery can't do. When I break your little heart in two. [style=height:215px; padding-right:8px; overflow:auto;] fletcher was tired of always being in the hospital. when he was a kid, he'd always been stuck in there for one reason or another. it would have been hell for the boy if he hadn't had two amazing friends - and an amazing cousin - to keep him company through it all. those three were probably the reasons fletcher kept his sanity through it all, especially after surgeries. even after all these years - after countless surgeries after " fixing " his heart - they still had no idea what was wrong with him. he still fainted easily, got light - headed, and sometimes got what he always felt was a heart attack. though they said there was no extra risks for a heart attack for him, he was always worried.
this time, the firetamer had passed out while walking down the stairs. he had been planning on visiting calan today, so he figured it wasn't really too out of his way to be sent to the hospital. it only took an hour or so to get his head fixed up and to make sure there was no internal bleeding. they ran a couple of the usual tests on his blood, heart, and brain - every chance they got they wanted to see if they could diagnose him - but nothing turned out odd. everything looked as it should, but fletcher still had his issues. he didn't mind at this point, though. he knew he had them, and although they couldn't fix him, at least the doctors had managed to fix calan and people that have those bad of health issues.
speaking of calan, fletcher had to practically sneak out of his room to go to his cousin's. he'd put his normal clothes back on and searched for calan's room, hoping the other wouldn't mind the lack of a present. he'd been planning on getting a present - honest, he was - but of course, the rush to the hospital had kind of gotten in the way of those plans. well, sometimes things like that happened. calan would understand, he was sure of it. fletcher smiled, wondering how calan would react to him being here; as far as he knew, not many of the other family members had come to visit him. that didn't surprise fletcher seeing as most of the family didn't really care for anyone but their immediate children / siblings / parents unless they were next in line.
finding calan's room, fletcher was practically jumping for joy. he slowly opened the door to the room, hoping that he wasn't disturbing the male inside. when he saw the other's eyes open and heard him talk, fletcher stepped completely inside and shut the door behind him. it only took a few steps to get over to calan's side and sit next to him. " of course i came to see you! why wouldn't i? 'm not a jerk, ya'know. though, i wish i'd gotten a different ride to the hospital. ambulances aren't really too comfortable, " he said with a light laugh. " how you feeling, calan? is everything working the way it should be? "

“You came here in an ambulance?” The younger boy asked with a frown. He’d forgotten that both him and Fletcher suffered from illnesses. To compare wouldn’t be fair since both boys were treated for different things. Neither one was more sick than the other, they both were just well sick. They could relate and make one another feel better if they had something similar going on. Calan gave a weak look and sighs softly. “Are you alright?” He wanted to make sure before he began to dive into his own issues. He moved slowly to sit up better in the bed and also so he could talk to his cousin.
The boy gave a tiny shrug and smirked at his elder cousin. “I guess so, but I hate it in here. I just want to go home with Shay.” Calan blushed a dark red. He didn’t keep it a secret that he and Shay broke up when they did, but they just recently got back together. Calan knew Quinn didn’t like that since he thought Shay wasn’t good enough and also there was a still a large grudge there from when Shay hurt Calan so much. However, the boy didn’t care what anyone else thought of the warlock. Shay was his one true love. The person made just for him. No one could ever tell Calan otherwise.
“A few people have come to see me though, Mom is here a lot… Dad hasn’t come to see me yet.” But Calan honestly didn’t give a shit about his father, if the male didn’t want to see him then so be it. The boy shifted a little bit and nodded to the chair beside his bed, wanting his older cousin to sit down so he wouldn’t exert himself anymore than he already had. “How have you been though? Besides coming to the hospital, you’ve been well right?” Calan did worry about Fletcher and he knew sometimes Fletcher worried about him. It’s what you did when you had a rather close family, or Calan wished they were close. They all seemed to be drifting apart and he felt like he was the last person anyone wanted to waste their time with. The boy frowned and stared at his hands, he shook his head and tried to get rid of all the negative thoughts that swelled in his head.
Calan sometimes felt the only person he had in this world was Shay. It was easy to say you love and cared about someone, worried about them no matter their relation to you, but if you never showed it, how on earth could someone believe it? “It’s depressing in here, sorry if I seem so down. I’m just tired.” He said with a chuckle.
