you bring out the animal in me
The club was humming tonight, packed with bodies all there to drink and dance their cares away. The thrum of the bass as vibrated out of the many speakers mingled with the voices as people attempted conversations over the almost ridiculously loud music. An all around hectic scene with people pushing their way through to get from point A to point B, some drunkenly weaving their way through, others sliding in and out with a skill born from obvious experience, not even spilling a drop of whatever drink happened to be in their hand. Or hands as the case may have been for some. It was like one gigantic, overstimulating adult playground to put it bluntly, which was exactly why Easton enjoyed the place so much. Inside these walls your normal, responsible 9 to 5 job holding individuals turned into their wild, inhibition free and often too plastered to care alter egos. It was really almost too easy really.
A couple of drinks and half the girls here would be willing to walk out with just about any guy who asked. Not that he often had to do that. He was good looking and quite obviously knew that happy little fact and exploited it to its maximum potential without even one single ounce of shame. Unlike quite a few of the genetically blessed men in this place though Easton had learned the value of a well placed hint of humility, just enough to keep him out of the 'cocky douche' category. The added fact that no matter how much he drank he wouldn't get drunk helped out as well, just one of the many perks of being what most would consider a 'freak'. As far as they were concerned though he was just another human being they shared this planet with, looking for a good time after a long work week. The latter part was certainly true enough but his definition of the word was undoubtedly quite different from theirs.
It was a little after midnight when he'd arrived, making his way through the crowd towards the bar which was just as crowded as the rest of the place. Approaching one of the few empty bar stools he was stopped short of sitting down as the guy next to it propped his feet upon it. "Sorry dude I own this space. Guess you're out of luck," He slurred the words smugly, obviously in the 'I'm king of the world' stage of drunkenness that tended to give one a puffed up sense of confidence. "Oh it is, huh? Damn, guess I am," He returned, holding up his hands in a 'oh well, what can ya do?' sort of gesture and turned as if to walk away as the guy smirked cockily at the people around him a second before he was suddenly crashing to the floor as Easton kicked the stool out from under him. Righting the now empty seat, he calmly sat down in the one beside it. "Oops. Looks like this space is under new ownership,"
Red faced, the drunk guy started to scramble to his feet, which considering his inebriated state was giving him a bit of trouble. "You bastard I'm gonna-!" His words were cut short by the hard glare Easton shot his way and in a surprisingly wise move he backed off, spinning around to push his way through the people, muttering obscenities under his breath after his little moment of humiliation. Ordering a drink as the bar tender came over, Easton gave a subtle glance around at the people, namely the women, nearby, in no hurry to make any sort of move. Besides it was always more fun if they initiated things anyway. Which, judging from the flirtatious looks already being sent his direction, would undoubtedly happen before too long.

Clubs, while always fun, weren’t necessarily a good place for one Miss Natalie Hawthorne. Now don’t get her wrong; she loved them and it was likely you would see her at one from time to time. She liked alcohol and liked to dance. Combine those to traits with the fact that she could find many other people with those same interests here, and you had the perfect place for Nat. Besides, the girl always seemed to have extra energy and clubs were a wonderful way to burn it off. All in all, it seemed like the perfect haunt for her.
So what exactly was the problem? There were a number of things. For example, there was so much constant activity going on that Natalie found it hard to focus on anything. She was already a huge fan of almost every alcohol so she was naturally prone to drinking more. But when in a club, Nat often couldn’t keep track of the number of drinks she had in an evening. It could lead to dangerous situations for her, especially since she didn’t always use her head. Plus, her personality was completely amplified when she drank. The girl seemed to become even more outgoing, trusting, and naïve, if that was even possible. It was a wonder the girl hadn’t been taken advantage of yet, but it was unlikely that her luck would hold out forever.
Didn’t seem to stop Nat though. Sure, she tried to make sure she didn’t go to the club too often but Natalie had never been good with responsibility and didn’t always have the strongest resolves. Besides, tonight she felt as if she had to go out and do something or she’d go crazy sitting all alone in her apartment. And by this time of night, the only worthwhile places still open involved alcohol and Nat would much rather end up at the club than the bar. So here she was, getting into her normal swing of things. Before she knew it, she had downed at least two drinks and was out on the dance floor, surrounded by sweaty strangers who were just bopping to the beach. Every so often, she’d stop and dance with one before moving on.
In typical Natalie fashion, however, dancing only held her interest for so long before she decided she needed another drink. While on her way back to the bar to get her next one – she wished she knew what number she was on – an attractive guy sitting at the bar caught her attention. She openly stared at him, forgetting that it wasn’t quite the most socially appropriate thing to do. Nat had little shame though and she doubted that people staring at this particular guy was such a new phenomenon to him, so she was okay this time. He’d probably not even notice her look.
Before even approaching him though, she needed her drink. In Natalie’s one track mind, that was the priority. So Nat walked up to the bartender and told him to surprise her. She had never been good at mixing different kinds of alcohol but had never really cared about what she got as long as the alcohol was strong enough. The bartender knew that; this was a game they often played. While Nat waited, she leaned back against the bar and propped her elbows on it, studying the crowd. She carefully kept her eyes from wandering over to the guy in case he had caught her earlier and would look like an eager puppy or something now. She’d go over on her own time.
Which seemed to be now, apparently, since the bartender had just given Natalie her surprise drink. She placed money on the counter and wandered over in the guy’s direction. The girl took her sweet time, making it look like she had no real aim of going anywhere until she came up to the vacant stool next to the guy. She had entirely missed the interaction between him and the previous stool’s owner. The girl didn’t say anything at first and instead sipped on her drink while she gathered her thoughts. “What’s a handsome guy like you doing sitting here by his lonesome?” Natalie asked, a slur of her words barely detectable in her speech. She had gotten rather good at not letting on to how drunk she was. Years of practice, it would seem.

you bring out the animal in me
There times this place got on Easton's nerves, the ridiculously loud thrum of the bass pounding almost constantly, the crowd of people that you always seemed to have to fight your way through. However, it was really the one place where charming the pants off of (sometimes quite literally) women was rather easily accomplished thanks to the rather free flowing alcohol and general popularity of the place with people who had little inhibitions. There were plenty of other bars in Manuka he could go to if he really wanted but when it came down to it this was pretty much the number one spot. Besides the smaller the place the more likely people would notice when someone went missing who possibly shouldn't have. Here you just another face. Another weird sounding drink for the bartender to whip up and slide across the counter.
His little stunt with the more brawn than brains type a few moments ago had attracted some attention but only for the few seconds it had lasted. Another thing he liked about this place. You could pretty much get away with anything and not worry about who might be watching because when it came down to it, no one really cared. Not unless it involved them at least. Because though it might not have seemed like it after what he'd just done Easton really didn't prefer to be the center of attention. Preferably he liked to walk in and keep a low profile, at least at first. Take stock of the situation so to speak, see who was hanging around and if there was anyone worth wasting his time on that night. Still, there was no denying it felt good to watch that stupid human fall on his ass and then run off with his tail tucked between his legs so to speak. If anything it certainly guaranteed he wouldn't be bothered by anyone else looking to start a fight. Unless they were just as stupid as their buddy had been.
For now though no one was risking trying to take that empty seat beside him just yet. Although that wouldn't be a problem for long seeing as he was getting plenty of looks already. The boldest one though was the young woman heading towards the opposite side of the bar, not even trying to be subtle as she looked in his direction. He met her gaze for a few brief seconds before letting it drop back to the drink in his hand. That's all that was needed though. She'd get the hint. Though it appeared she really wouldn't have needed one anyway because after waiting for her drink she made her way over towards him. Easton gave her credit for not rushing over though like most other girls did, afraid they'd miss their chance perhaps if they waited. Made her just a little bit more interesting than before, the thought that she might be different than your average club hopping college girl looking for a hook up.
Sliding onto the empty stool beside him she took a sip of her drink before casually questioning, albeit flirtatiously so, what he was doing here all alone. A smirk pulled at one side of his mouth at the words aimed in his direction, his eyes flickering to the side to study her pretty little profile. Yes, most definitely pretty. Drop dead gorgeous more like, with her red hair and full lips. "Waiting for you to come find me. Saved that seat just for you," He replied smoothly, flashing her a smile as he turned slightly in his seat to face her directly then. "Taking a break from the dance floor?" Having seen her come from that direction he was wagering a guess that's exactly where she'd been. Seemed the type who would enjoy it and since this was obviously not her first drink of the night likely had lost any inhibitions or shyness a while back.

You would have thought that Natalie would know better by now. The guy you picked up at clubs? Rarely the cream of the crop. Sure, there was the occasional good guy who was there with a group of friends trying to wind down at the end of a difficult work week or something, but that was more of the exception rather than the rule. The rest of the guys had one thing on their mind and one thing only. The worst part was Nat knew that. The people you hooked up with here? You were likely to never see them again once the morning after scene. They weren’t the type of person you’d have any sort of future with. But Natalie couldn’t help herself. For some reason, it seemed as if being ridiculously attractive was a requirement and that was all it took for Natalie to ignore her better judgment.
And this guy? Lord Almighty he was definitely overqualified in the “ridiculously attractive” department, not to mention he looked ripped enough to have professional bodybuilder as an occupation. All of that aside, his voice would’ve been enough to make Natalie melt. Girl really needed to get ahold of herself; she fell in and out of infatuation way too easily and the amount of alcohol in her system definitely wasn’t helping her any. To be fair though, it wasn’t like Natalie would really be doing anything differently if she was 100% sober. Other than make completely unimpaired decisions that would pretty much end up being the same as impaired ones.
Natalie turned towards the when she noticed that he had turned to her out of the corner of her eye and matched his smile. It was pretty impossible to not return it, in Nat’s opinion, seeing as how it was the type that could make a girl’s heart race right out of her chest. Luckily, the drinks kept it at bay. It seemed a little backwards, but Natalie was apparently a little backwards herself. Call it her liquid courage, but the years she had spent drinking and trying to keep herself composed ended up paying off in situations like this. She could carry on flirty banter without sounding like a giggly girl who was way in over her head.
“Aw that’s sweet!” Nat said, her smiling widening slightly before she took another sip from her drink. She was probably drinking it way too fast, but that was the least of her concerns. “How very thoughtful of you.” Thank God she had practiced not sounding drunk. After another small smile, the girl turned a little ways away from the guy, positioning herself so she was slightly facing the dance floor but also not far enough away to lose the face to face aspect of conversation with him. She didn’t want to seem overly interested in him, but she also wanted to make sure he didn’t think she was entirely disinterested either.
His next words brought Natalie’s attention back to the guy. “What? Have you been keeping tabs on me?” she asked, the flirty smile back. She had to say, if that was the case, then she was quite flattered. Natalie knew she was pretty – it was vain to say, she knew – but she hadn’t thought of herself as the type of girl who shone enough to catch someone’s attention when in a room full of other attractive girls. ”But yeah, figured it was time to give my feet a break. Get rehydrated,” Natalie explained, holding up her already half empty glass. She couldn’t say she quite remembered drinking that much of it already. Well whoops.
“What about you? Not the dancing type?” The girl was pretty sure she would have seen him if he had decided to venture out there. Sure, there were a lot of people and it was quite a crowded place, but he wasn’t the type of guy to blend into the background. No, he definitely would have stood out. “Oh, I’m Natalie, by the way,” she introduced herself, not wanting to forget to do it later. Natalie liked knowing the names of people she met and those she could possibly sleep with (not that she was saying this would definitely head there). Made things feel a tiny bit more personal.

you bring out the animal in me
There was one drawback when it came to places like this and that being the fact that with as many people crowding the building as there was it could be very easy to get lost in the shuffle. You might get a few glances when you first walked in but after that it was up to you if you wanted to remain someone who grabbed attention. There were obviously plenty of ways to go about that, ranging from the guy who came in and hit on each evey woman to cross his path thinking he was being a regular romeo to the ones who made their way out onto the dance floor hoping to impress the ladies with one of their 'signature' dance moves. Both ways would get the job done but unless you wanted the attention to be of the negative sort neither were all that succesful in the long run.
So what was Easton's tactic? Confidence. Simple enough really and easy enough for him to pull off, mostly because he didn't have to put on an act like a lot of these clowns. They just ended up coming off as egotistical douchebags most of the time which was hardly attractive now was it? No you had to learn how to walk in and command that attention from the first glance without actually trying and then you got places. It didn't matter if you were out on the dance floor or sitting at the bar like he was now as long as you gave off that vibe of knowing exactly what you were doing even if you didn't have a clue. Not that Easton had that problem much seeing as he never came to this place or any others like it without a purpose even if that happened to be simply watching and observing. Getting drunk was hardly his aim seeing as it was practically impossible given what he was. He wasn't prone to one night stands every weekened like some guys he knew but if the right girl happened along and things went down that road he wasn't opposed to that happening.
So far it had been enjoyable enough what with the moron who decided he needed to show how big his balls were and failed miserably. He was still lingering around, sulking over his humiliation it would seem. Easton wouldn't have been surprised if he came back for a second round. Those types usually did. More brawn than brain and what not. It was all highly amusing to him really. Things really became interesting, however, at the arrival of the pretty red-haired girl now seated coyly beside him, a flirtatious smile parting those full lips at his remark. "What can I say my mother raised me to be a gentleman," Ah, the irony in that statement. He took a moment to study the profile she offered him while taking a sip of her drink. Not the first either it would seem though to her credit she was doing a superb job of not appearing effected by the alcohol if she was even, he almost couldn't tell which was the case.
Her slightly disinterested pose was belied by the wide smile that spread across her lips at his question about where she was taking a break from dancing. He matched it with a smirk of his own, an eyebrow raising ever so slightly. "Maybe I was. You're a hard girl to miss," True enough seeing as she had a head of flaming red hair and had shown she was not at all afraid to do her thing when it came to the action going on out on the dance floor. Giving a knowing look as she explained what had brought her over to the bar he took a quick swallow of his own drink. "Can't argue with that reasoning," An amused sort of smile pulled the corners of his mouth upwards at her question and he shook his head slightly, glancing across the bar. "You could say I'm more of a watch and observe sort of guy. Less chance of bruising your ego that way," He joked lightly before shifting his eyes back towards her as she introduced herself then.

[/color] He returned with an easy smile. Giving a slight tilt of his head towards her he added a moment later, "So, Natalie, you here by yourself tonight?" So far that seemed to be the case but it also didn't seem too likely that a girl like her would have come alone. At the the very least there had to be one other person with her. And he wanted to find out just who he might have to deal with if it came down to something more than just a friendly conversation happening between them. This guy had to be an expert in flirting. He was saying all the right words to make Natalie fall temporarily head over heels for him. Though in all honesty, it didn’t take much for the girl to do that. Give her a compliment and she’d obsess over it for weeks, overanalyzing every little bit of it. It really didn’t matter if Nat had met the person before or if she’d ever meet him again. Her brain was stuck in this permanent overdrive mode where it liked to come up with elaborate and improbable scenarios and even though she knew they wouldn’t happen, she couldn’t stop herself.
That was happening now. Every time he said something flirty back, it only built another block in her imaginary situation. She wouldn’t voice any of it, of course, because she didn’t think it’d happen but it still. That, combined with the amount of alcohol in her system, meant that Natalie was going to end up flirting back twice as hard as she had been. Not her greatest moments, but it wasn’t like she could stop herself now. “Well then, thank god for your mother. There’s enough jerks in the world.” Okay, well maybe Nat thought she got two times flirtier. But maybe she just babbled things instead. No, not okay. Natalie had to get back on her game.
Though it appeared she wasn’t going to be recovering quickly because with his next two statements, Nat couldn’t even come up with something half decent to say back to him. Not even a quarter decent. Natalie could’ve gone with quarter decent. That would have been better than the dumb smile that was still plastered to her face right now. The girl was starting to get the feeling that she’d be stuck with that expression for the rest of the night. It really didn’t take much for her to get such a happy smile and it didn’t go away all that quickly. Well, she guessed she could look like a moron. She probably wouldn’t remember tomorrow anyway.
At least he was smiling now, too and holy moly did he have a gorgeous smile. It was one of those that Natalie could get lost staring at. But she stopped herself, only allowing herself a quick glance before paying attention to their conversation again. She was starting to feel the effects of her drinks now, which wasn’t a great thing. The girl was determined to make it through the night without looking like a sloppy drunk. That was never a good impression to give to anyone, especially an insanely hot stranger. “You? Bruised ego? Impossible. I think you’re just afraid you’ll make everyone else look bad.” Good. At least Natalie could still get a comeback out, even if it took her a little while to warm up.
“Very nice to meet you then, Easton,” Natalie replied after he introduced himself. She liked the name. A lot. It wasn’t common and it definitely fit him. Perfect name choice. The girl swirled the last of the drink that was left in her cup, trying to decide whether or not she should just finish it. Good choice? No. Would she most likely? Yeah. You couldn’t waste a drink you paid for and it wasn’t like that little bit would be the breaking point for her. She was a little more focused on this thought than the conversation and she honestly couldn’t say she expected the next question that came out of Easton’s mouth.
Was she alone? Nat felt like that was one of those questions that should set off the warning flags in her brain. It was probably in the how to not get taken advantage of handbook. And yet, the thought never even crossed her mind. She already felt like she knew Easton enough to be safe with him. “Yup. 100%, completely and totally alone.” Natalie was about to add more, but the song changed suddenly and it was one that Nat loved. Quickly finishing her drink, Natalie slid off the stool, a little more unsteady than she had expected she’d be. The girl swiftly gained her composure though and pretended as if nothing had happened. “Come on, time for you to come dance with me!” Natalie exclaimed, offering Easton an outstretched hand. Didn’t really matter if he wanted to go or not; she was intent on dragging him out there if she had to.

you bring out the animal in me
Easton knew exactly what he was doing and so far this girl was eating it up like it was honey. The fact she had downed more than a few drinks was also giving him an unfair sort of advantage too though to her credit she was holding her liquor better than a lot of girls around them right now. He knew just what words to say and how to say them to give her whatever impression it was he so desired. In this case it was the one decent guy in a sea of losers, not necessarily a hard sell considering the competetion. Not that Easton was really a bad sort of guy behind the flirtatious words. He may not have had an actual mother to raise him as a gentleman but he did know how to treat a woman with respect unlike a good few of these clowns. Nor was he really much of what you'd call a 'player' either. He'd had his share of hook ups but it wasn't a typical past time and since one particular girl had entered his life and subsequently left it the one night stands had become few and far between.
Her emphatic response concerning his upbringing had him giving a incline of his head and a shrug, accepting the compliments to the mother he'd never even known easily enough. Who knows if that would have actually been true or not seeing as she was one of two species not known for their good natures. So really all things considered he'd turned out decent enough if not a bit rough around the edges. Enough of a gentleman to stand out from the less than polite when drunk males but with still enough of what you might call 'bad boy' charm to be interesting. It clearly had been enough to attract Natalie's attention, who was turning out to be a rather cute sort of tipsy, all smiles and dimples with every word he said. Still she wasn't letting it all hang out there, keeping a sort of mysterious aura about herself that was intriguing to say the least.
And she was doing a fairly good job at her own set of comebacks to his remarks, coyly complimenting in a way that wasn't obnoxious or coming across trying too hard. Despite it all Easton was actually finding himself enjoying this little banter back and forth, the exchange easy and not forced like you sometimes found happening with strangers. A chuckle rumbled in his throat at her remark about him just being worried about making the others out on the dance floor look bad, a playful glimmer in her eyes. "Well that would be greatly exaggerating my talents but I'm flattered all the same," He returned with another smile, swirling the almost melted ice cubes around in his glass. A few seconds passed after the introductions and she was giving her own drink a thoughtful sort of look, perhaps deciding if that last few swallows was worth it? It normally never was Easton had long ago found out but that never seemed to stop anyone, himself included. Although he had something of an unfair advantage in that department as well seeing as it took a considerable amount of alcohol for him to feel the effects.
His question caught her attention quickly enough though, bringing her gaze back up to meet his with a slight deer in the headlights look, eyes perhaps a little too bright by this point. If she had been a little surprised at his sudden question he was equally so at her quick and completely unguarded answer, eyebrows raising slightly. Before he had any sort of chance to respond though she was finishing her drink quickly before sliding off the stool, albeit a bit unsteadily though she held her composure decently. A second later her hand was being held out to him, an expectant look written across her pretty face as she voiced those expectations right after. Easton hesitated slightly, really not a fan of the whole club dancing scenario, but really how was a guy supposed to say no when being asked by a girl like Natalie? Throwing back the last of his own drink he stood up and took her out stretched hand, a long suffering sort of smile pulling at his lips. "Fine but I'm blaming you if my ego gets bruised,"
A few moments later they were out among the crowded dance floor and her arms were immediately snaking up around his neck, keeping them close enough to still hear each other talk. "So do you make a habit of telling strangers you're all alone at bars or was I hopefully an exception to that rule?" He chided her teasingly, though in all honesty she really was lucky he wasn't the type to take advantage of that information. Tell it to the wrong person and you could end up in a fairly sticky situation.

Natalie was almost half worried she was making this guy up in her head, like all the alcohol had gone straight to her brain and was making her hallucinate the person in front of her. Honestly, he was hitting just about every checkpoint on Nat’s list of ideal men; handsome as anything, charming, witty, and a drinker. Yup. He certainly had those more than covered. Of course, there were some other less shallow traits that Natalie at least tried to look for, but for a first meeting Easton was doing pretty damn well. That was why she was partially afraid he was half made up. There were very few people who had ever checked off that much that fast. She wasn’t going to let that get away from her too easily.
“You know what, I think you’re hustling me!” Natalie exclaimed, a big smile on her face. “You keep going on and on about how you can’t dance but as soon as we get out there, you’ll be the best.” The girl nodded like she had figured Easton out. He thought he was so mysterious but here she was just learning everything about him. Though in all honesty, part of that could be the haze she was starting to feel in her brain pretending that she even knew what she was talking about. The girl felt like she always got babbly when she drank too much and it looked like they were going to find that out.
Easton mentioned something about getting his feelings hurt if he sucked at dancing and Nat couldn’t help giggling. She was apparently a very happy drunk, too. “I promise you won’t get your feelings hurt,” she told him, a big smile still on her face. She knew he was joking, but she felt the need to assure him of that anyway. Easton was going to have fun with her and that was that. It didn’t matter if you were good or not, although Natalie was still convinced he was just teasing her. All she wanted was to have fun and that was what she wanted for Easton.
He took her hand and Natalie wasted no time in dragging him out to the dance floor. She didn’t want him to change his mind on the way there. Once there, Nat put her arms around Easton’s neck, keeping him close. She felt his hands go to her waist and she smiled brightly at him. This was why Natalie adored crop tops; every time his hand brushed against her bare midriff, she felt a tiny shiver go up her spine. Yup, Nat made a good choice. What else would she have done with her night? Sit at home and watch a movie? No thank you. She hoped Easton would think the same.
Though she could say she hadn’t expected him to continue their earlier conversation. It seemed like such a serious topic, especially now that they were out dancing and were supposed to be focusing on that. Still, she figured she mind as well indulge him. If that was what Easton wanted to talk about, who was she to say any different? It didn’t mean that Natalie wouldn’t give him a hard time though. “What, do you think you’re special?” Nat teased, her manner clearly showing that she was. In all honesty, she didn’t understand why it was important. So what if Natalie told people things like that? She was an adult. She could make those decisions. Of course, a majority of her thought process was starting to sound like a belligerent toddler, thanks to the alcohol.
However, Natalie didn’t think Easton would’ve asked if he wasn’t looking for an actual answer, so Nat decided she’d give him one. “Typically I have more sense than that,” she told him, a brief window of clearheadedness opening up to remind her that she was lucky Easton wasn’t some creep. At least she didn’t think he was. And it only lasted for a moment before Natalie lost her ability to reason and all sense of inhibition that went with it. That was pretty typical for Natalie, even when she was completely sober. She rarely thought things through and even when she did, she rarely let it hold her back.
Nat pulled herself even closer to Easton, practically closing any gap that had been between them. She made a point of staring at his lips before glancing back up and meeting his eyes. “You know, you’re not at all bad at this dancing thing,” she informed him, though at this point it wouldn’t have mattered if he clopped around like he had two left feet. The girl had one thing on her mind and one thing only, which kind of made everything else seem way less important.

you bring out the animal in me
Poor girl really was right. He was a little too good to be true. She was fairly easy to read though and it took very little effort on Easton's part to act the part. Not that it was all just a show and he was a completely different sort of guy once he stepped out of this bar. There were guys scattered around that could definitely fit into that category and they were what the rest of the world would call douchebags. He wasn't as bad as all that and was actually showing quite a bit of his true personality to the pretty redhead. It would have been hard not to the way she came off so disarmingly. Still, he knew exactly what to do and say to bait her hook line and sinker until she was asking him to join her out on the dance floor.
Getting people to like you was easy enough. Getting them to stick around was the hard part, not that he was intending to shoot for that. Anything more than a one night stand and you suddenly began to find out the perfect person you were so attracted to the week before wasn't what you thought. Then things got messy and complicated and that was the last thing Easton cared to bother with quite frankly. At the moment though he was enjoying her company well enough and she was obviously enjoying his. The alcohol googles she was looking through right now were probably making it all the easier for him to keep her attention too.
He chuckled again at her Ah Ha! moment when it came to his repeated protests against letting her drag him out to the dance floor. He had to admit her bubbly personality and that wide smile were certainly a winning combination and he imagined plenty of other guys before him had succumbed to their charms before they even realized what was happening. "Maybe I am," He returned smoothly, smiling back at her with a non-commital sort of shrug. Clearly she wasn't going to take no for an answer no matter how well he could or could not dance, merely giggling harder as he at last gave in under thread he was blaming her for any ego bruising. Pointing at her with his free hand as she drug him to his feet, he returned teasingly, "I'm holding you to that now, It was kind of cute the sincerity she said it with, aiming yet another smile his way. You couldn't say no to that face, even if you had two left feet.
Fortunately for him and Natalie both he wasn't that bad. He wasn't planning on busting any moves like some of the morons out there were but neither did they look like a couple of junior highers at their first dance standing a foot apart and awkwardly shuffling. His arms were laced loosely around her waist after she closed the gap between them by putting her arms around his neck, both looking completely at ease. An eyebrow was quirked upward slightly at her playful retort to his query, matching it with a teasing smile proving he wasn't at all bothered by her manner. Normally he wasn't so...watchful when it came to people he had just met and wouldn't likely meet again. There was just something about her that seemed so innocent though judging from her familarity with this place and him so far that was hardly the case. Still, he would have hated to see her be that girl who you went out one night to the club and went missing.
"Can't blame a guy for hoping right?" He returned with an easy smile, his tone matching hers. Though she obviously would have no idea, Natalie was getting a less guarded Easton than most people who knew him for months longer ever even glimpsed. Hence, the actual concern for her safety behind the teasing demeanor. She paused for a slight moment before adding in a more serious tone that she normally had more sense when it came to that sort of thing and he half believed her considering how many drinks she might have had before he showed up. Clearly done with that topic though she brushed up closer against him and he very clearly got the message she was sending his way, an amused smile pulling at his lips. "What can I say I have a good partner," Leaning in closer, he angled his head to find the full lips she was aiming up oh so invitingly towards him, giving her what she wanted with absolutely no qualm.
