It had been in an interesting few days for Tullia, from having a fun outing with Jayne to meeting her cousin,in an unconventional way. Then again what is family for, besides annoying one other at odd times. Chuckling softly and shaking her head she continued along her way. Messing with her bracelets she glanced around, holding in her look of disgust as humans passed her by. A hatred for humans grew slowly more over time, not understanding their views or mindsets. Why they always wanted someone to save them and never take account for anything on their own. Silver spoon fed to them, all the thoughts of them just created anger inside of Tullia. What the hell made them so special and worth saving and keeping around. With all the supernaturals around, she couldn't figure out no one had tired to wipe out a few million humans. A small smirk gracing her face at that thought, maybe her family could start that, then again they don't think they are worth the time of day so it probably would not happen. Sighing she just continued on,humming to her ipod. It was a beautiful day out,the sun was shining,it was cool yet not freezing. Although she would have preferred it a little warmer she didn't feel the need to complain at the moment.
Pulling the phone out of her pocket, firing off a text to Aiden, she enjoyed bugging and bantering with him. Even though he was a few years old then herself, that did not seem to both either of them or the close bond they had. She would be there to guide him when he needed help, consul also just a good tease every now and again. He in turn would do the same for Tullia, more of the teasing though. Not that advice wasn't appreciated. She just did not like that fact being shown if it was needed, because what " Wise Owl" got advice from others then you were the one who was suppose to have it all. Slipping her phone back in her jean pocket, hugging the jacket tighter around herself she continued on her way. Not having a clear destination in mind,it was time to just let her mind wander until she found some the peaked her interest,or she got too tired of walking around so she would take a seat. Neither was happening yet,so continuing to walk was what she would do.
Watching the people around she stumbled as a body crashed into her from behind,a soft gasp left her lips as she tripped over her feet and fell to the cold concert ground. Wincing as she felt her hands jeans scrap and tear against the gravel. Closing her eyes she quickly look behind her,it was a male human and obviously very intoxicated ,standing there and staring at her. " Next time what where you going sexy, unless you wanted me to get a good feel of ya." All Tullia could do was see red at the moment. This was the great human race drunks trying to cop feels and hit on girls after the bowl them over. Finally getting to her feet, hands slightly bleeding, her jean scraped but still intact. Clenching her fists she felt her fire pulsing though her veins, the urge to burn this man to a crisp where he stood growing strong. Watching as he licked her lips and undressed her ,with his drunk seedy eyes. Not seeing a reason why this man would be missed she took a slow breathe slipping her hands down her sides twitching her finger as she slowly started to let her fire come to life.

All the work and energy put into accepting something as how it was only to tear that wall down like it was made of straw. Seeing her again had ripped it all down though and had him back at almost square one all over again. Well not quite at square one. Square one had been the mind numbing grief over losing her. Not being able to risk showing that, however, had it quickly replaced with just numbness. Pushing it all back to the very far corners of his mind until it was out of sight and all he had to focus on was the duty at hand. And that's what he'd done for the last hundred or so years since then. His duty. Plain and simple. What he had been doing the exact moment she'd shown up so unexpectedly.
Since then things had become just a bit more complicated for the angel. That moment in the coffee shop had been the first time he'd ever shown himself to Freya, his charge, in all the years he'd been her guardian. It was simply easier to stay invisible rather than go about the befriending your charge route, especially when you were assigned to them for as long a time as he was to Freya. He'd been with her from the moment she was born and to suddenly show up as someone in her life, befriend her, well that just posed a whole new set of possible problems. However, there hadn't been much choice when the demons had attacked her and now that she'd seen him and knew who he was well there wasn't much sense in staying invisible now was there?
Darien had to admit it made things a bit easier in the sense he could go around town and blend in as just another human. Required less of his energy than remaining invisible did though after so many years of it he was adept enough at the skill that he barely felt the slight sapping of strength. Still he couldn't help but enjoy actually interacting with people instead of simply sitting on the sidelines, watching. It seemed to be the general theory that guardian angels had to stay with their charge one hundred percent of the time in order to protect them but that wasn't actually the case. They had wings for a reason after all. If she was in trouble he would know and he'd be there in a split second. Something he'd had to explain to Freya now that she knew of his existence and had assumed the former theory like most others.
When he'd left her today she'd been with Sam Holbrook, who was not necessarily Darien's favorite person on the planet but she would definitely be safe enough with him at least. At the moment he had taken to simply exploring the city, on foot rather than his usual way of flying to wherever he needed to be. It gave him a chance though to observe things through a different sort of lens so to speak and honestly watching people could be highly entertaining when it came right down to it. He'd sat down on a bench a few minutes before things got interesting across the street from him. At first it seemed like your normal person a runs into person b and apologies ensue and life continues onward. That quickly changed, however, as the girl who'd been knocked rather unceremoniously onto the pavement got up after the man -a very drunk individual from the looks of it- made some smart ass remark. Darien was expecting an angry retort from the girl as she obviously did not appreciate his perverted statement.
Words, however, didn't seem to be how she planned on dealing with the scum bag as he caught sight of her clenched fists, not missing the faint sparks starting to appear. Oh wonderful. A fire tamer with a temper. Rising from where he sat, Darien crossed the street casually, approaching the two and grabbing a hold of the drunk's shoulder in a firm grip. "I believe you owe the young woman an apology," His tone was calm but suggested any argument on that point wouldn't be well received on his part, a fact reaffirmed by the slight tightening of the hand on the drunk's shoulder. As much as he felt the man deserved a bit of a singe letting this girl actually let loose could endanger more lives than just the drunk's around to be affected and those were the ones the angel cared about protecting just then.

Closing her eyes, the numbers one though ten rushing though her brain, this was the great human race. Drunks and people who cared less for themselves and even more so if it involved anyone else. Although as much as Tullia hated it,she could pass as human, she knew she was better then them. She respected people, and at least acted civilized, which she saw that the moment was very hard for the man in front of her to do. All she wanted to do was burn him to a cinder, but with so many people around,it seemed like that wouldn't be the wisest of ideas. Not that she would care what others, though it was more of her families name that was one the line. That ans a hunter could be anywhere and just love the chance to kill a infamous Ellis. Yes as much as they were hidden, they still did attract attention. Which never seemed to be getting any easier as time passed, the counting was not working though. She could feel her flames growing slightly more and more, the males voice faint in her ears. Words of " what the hell and how are you doing that." Were escaping his drunk lips. The urge to truly show him what she could do was an all time high. Not wanting to disappoint a man asking though.
Moving her arms to throw a ball of fire, they quickly diminished as quick as the came,a new male appeared and it seemed like he saw the whole thing. Eye brow perking at the tone of his voice and the grip on the male she cocked a hip and waited to see that the drunk would do next. His words slurred and highly aggravating. " Well maybe this bitch didn't dress up like a hussy she wouldn't have this problem. I ain't going to apologize for words that aren't false." Although he felt the grip tighten as the male's tone came across. " But since you guys are runing my buzz,I i'm sorry I told the truth and that you can't take a compliment." With his words done,he weazly slipped out of the other males grip and half jogged around the corner and disappeared. All Tullia could do was let out a cold laugh and shake her head. " God what is it with people,do the just grow stupid and less intelligent with each passing day." Huffing she ran fingers though her hair and shook her head. " I mean I thought natural selection still existed,it seems to be lacking lately in picking people off."
Closing her eyes slowly opening them she couldn't help but take in the males appearance. He was very good looking, she couldn't deny that but what did he want. No one helped people out of the goodness of there hearts anymore it just wasn't done. " Thank you though I guess. I mean I had it handled but you saved me the hassle so thanks. Do I get the name of my savior er thing." Yes she was a little rusty in giving thanks to strangers. But there was something about him that couldn't help but want to know more of. She wasn't sure why she was feeling this way,but she knew better then to think to hard on it. Although if Damon was here he would probably be laughing his ass off. The great Wise Owl having problems saying thanks to strangers, well it was a good thing he wasn't around then.

Step in and mess in other people's business. He had his charge and anything that involved them was all he really gave any attention to most of the time. Otherwise you could find yourself in situations that put you and subsequently your charge in danger of being killed. A lot of guardians seemed to want to protect the entire human population along with their charge, Darien included when he had first become one. Why not after all? Realizing your new found power as an angel could tend to give you a sense of almost over confidence, like you were invincible. Which was true to a point he supposed but not entirely so by any stretch of the imagination. It was most often after finding that fact out the hard way that you realized your charge was where your attention needed to be and if you did feel the need to help out another human in trouble you best make sure it was worth it.
Honestly he'd almost turned a blind eye and ignored the scene playing out across the street for that reason. Not to mention the fact that the last time he'd responded to what seemed like someone in trouble he'd found himself ambushed by hunters and left with a broken wing and too many cuts and bruises to count. Even worse it had left Freya Guardian-less and she had paid a dear price for that, something that was still gnawing at him even now. Not that the outcome wouldn't have been the same even if he had been there to protect her seeing as whoever it was attacking the supernaturals of Manuka were skilled beyond any hunter he'd ever seen before but he could have taken the brunt of it at the very least before getting her to safety.
But he'd seen the look on the man's face as the girl had gotten up from the sidewalk. If there was one thing the angel hated about the human race it was men like the drunk. He could only thank God that he had never been giving one as a charge because if he had there was a very very good chance he'd either would have died or the very least fallen. So even if he was a bit reluctant he knew there would be no 'turning a blind eye' now. The girl wasn't exactly taking his crap though which was slightly amusing seeing as the man wasn't understanding her anger one bit through his alcohol induced haze. Had she simply used her snippy attitude and icy glares on him Darien probably wouldn't have interfered unless it came down to the man actually laying a hand on her but it suddenly became clear she had more than just words at her disposal. Which now made it less about her well being and more about the well being of everyone else around her and whatever flaming punishment she intended to launch at the drunk.
His interruption seemed to throw both of them off a bit and his 'suggestion' to the man was not taken overly well surprise surprise as he shot back an irritated tirade. However, something about what the angel had just said got through the stupor he was in and hit whatever little bit of common sense was still functioning in him. Or maybe it was simply the cold blue eyes staring down at him that stopped him short and had him ammending his statement before he squirmed free of the tight grasp on his shoulder. Either way it got the desired result and that was all that Darien really cared about just then. Watching until the sleeze ball was out of sight, a wry sort of smile tugged at the angel's lips in response to the girl's sarcastic remarks. "If that were the case half the world's population would be gone by this point," Or more most likely.
Turning to focus back on the young woman he saw she was staring at him now, a slightly wary look to her expression. Judging whether or not he was a threat too perhaps? He tipped his head slightly to the side at her attempt at thanking him for the help, an eyebrow raising every so slightly in amusement at the remark that 'she had it handled'. "You're welcome. Would have hated to see you burn down half of the city over someone like him," Darien never had been the kind to beat around the bush. He knew she was a fire tamer so why bother pretending like he didn't have a clue? "It's Darien," He returned smoothly at her awkwardly given question concerning his name. For some reason she seemed familiar to him but then again when you'd been around as long as he had you tended to have moments of deja vu when it came to people and places.

Chuckling softly a nod closely followed after that, she wasn't sure if he truly agreed to that but she was happy he at least seemed to humor her. This world was getting more and more messed up with each passing day,all she could do is wait and see if the whole thing collapsed around her and who would be the last one standing. Humans and society all seemed to be so wrapped in themselves that they had no idea what was happening around them. Which caused scenarios like the one she was facing now, that for some reason because of that,it was supposedly okay to act that fucking stupid. Not matter how stupid the world was being, she did not understand why people had to follow in that same direction. Which a shake of her head she let out a weak sigh. " That might not be such a bad thing, this world could probably do with a good drastic change like that, but right now it doesn't seem to be going that swell for dear old mother earth. But who knows that could just be the pessimist in me,but I tend to be knowledgeable about things like this so I am pretty sure that it is just the world going to hell which in that case people should hold on tight. "
About to comment again she stepped back slightly hearing him talking about burning down the city. Thoughts of how he knew what she was rushed into her mind, she wasn't that careless with her power as she walked towards him,so how did he know that she could control fire like that. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she gave him a calculating expression. If he was trouble she could at least give him a hard and severe enough burn to allow herself to get away. Because as much as she hated to admit it to herself she was close to human as she could be,the only difference was the fire in her veins. Hearing him name, she relaxed slightly but still weary, was he a hunter could he possible want her to drop her guard to kill her. Maybe that was how he knew what she was,so many possibilities. Once thing for sure though,if she needed to defend herself she did not want to bring anymore attention to them, because if she had to fight, she would rather not have her families name brought up or tied to herself.
" Darien, well it is nice to meet you,but can we take this conversation to a more private venue. I would rather keep unsuspecting ears from listening. " She could feel the fire pulsing right beneath her skin again,it wouldn't take much for her to strike with her flames, but she would rather not draw attention to herself in public again. This was going to be tricky. But she was taught manner so she figured she might as well offer a small form of it. " I'm Tullia." Knowing better then to spill her last name, but if he already knew she was a fire tamer, then it just brought down the list of who she could possible be tied too. " But I do have to ask,why do you think I would burn down half the city. I mean I don't even have any matches or anything on me to allow that to happen. " If he was a hunter or something more, then he should be able to defend why he thought she could do that. At least that was that she was telling herself,if not and he was a human well she could just say he was crazy and possible get him sent away, any of those sounded good. But for now she would wait and see what he had to say,she was not going to any farther then that. [/style]

Something of myth and legend and most likely make believe. Something to fear. Yet if there was one supernatural being that could be considered good it was guardian angels. Everything they did and were was created entirely to protect humans. Whether that was from supernaturals, other humans or simply the world itself. And yet they were on just about every hunter's list as a threat. Hah. Partially true though he supposed seeing as they were warriors and could and would take you out if they needed to. It was honestly a futile attempt on the hunters part anyway seeing as no human could kill an angel, no matter what weapon they used against them. Wound them yes but they would still be around and some were not quite as against taking revenge as Darien.
Take the drunken man for instance. Had Darien not stepped in there was really no telling if the girl would have gone through with her intentions to fry him or not. The action hadn't earned the angel any good will though from the man. But wasn't that how it usually went? Saving their lives again and again and getting little if any gratitude. It was certainly possible to wear on you after a while, harden any compassion towards them at least. He'd seen it happen to a few of his fellow guardians. Not all fallen angels had become that way from something as simple as falling in love after all. Her little speech concerning the fate of this planet was met quietly enough by Darien. Partially true enough seeing as some days it seemed it was going to hell in a handbasket. There was still a lot of good to be found in it though and for that reason alone Darien would be one of the last to give up on it, or its inhabitants, human or otherwise.
A suspicious look entered her eyes instantly at his casual mention of her possibly burning the city down. He couldn't really blame her for the feeling either seeing as trusting any stranger came with risks. It wasn't as if she could tell what he was with a simple glance. To her eyes he looked every inch as human as the man she'd just threatened to burn and he wouldn't doubt if she tried that very same move on him if she felt the need. To her credit though she was polite enough, suggesting they perhaps take their conversation to somewhere a little less open. Just down the from the a little ways were a group of picnic tables set off to the side. Inclining his head in that direction he raised an eyebrow slightly. "That private enough for you, Tullia?" Her name he stored away in the back of his mind, not one to forget them very often.
Chuckling slightly at her carefully worded question concerning just why he thought she could burn the city down, he leveled his blue eyes on her with some amusement. "I'd certainly hope any firetamer worth their salt wouldn't need to carry matches on their person," His voice was light enough, nonthreatening though clearly not planning on playing any games. "Don't worry, I'm no hunter," He added quickly after the remark, not desiring to get burnt even if it wouldn't do much more than hurt for a few seconds. "I just can't have you starting fires that could possibly put my charge in danger. Or anyone else for that matter," He'd given her a good enough clue as to what he was without saying it outright. Only seemed fair after all seeing as he had called her out on her own special little skill a moment ago.

[/div] tearing love apart,
So he at least respected her wishes and took her to some place more secluded. Glancing around she was happy to see that it wasn't to crowed. Leading her towards a picnic table she took her seat. He was a rather good looking man she couldn't deny that . but the fact that he already knew what was was. That was not okay with her , in fact that pissed her off. Who the hell was this guy and why did he know what she was , maybe she would have to fry him up just to keep her secret. " Yes but now that you have my name , I would like the pleasure of yours it's only fair and proper manners yes ?" Being wiser then most , at least that she wanted to think of herself as she wanted to make sure she wouldn't be left holding no cards while the man beside her held them all. That just wouldn't be smart or fair , he needed to at least give her something to go on. He shouldn't be the only one he was able to know anything about her.
Perking a brow at this her hand twitched slightly , while she had more class then to light him on fire in front of everything. The urge to do so was growing stronger , he knew to much about her to be a normal human. Last she remembered she never met this man before in her life. " No, no they aren't but I have a feeling you already knew that. So my question is how exactly do you know so much about me or at least out kind. " So he wasn't a hunter that was a good thing , she knew that her family was rather wanted , and had a good price on their head for any one of them to be killed or at least captured. Then the word charge came in , what the hell was this guy a charge. That was interesting so all she could do was keep a brow perked and shake her head. " So I take it me burning the city and something happening to your charge... would be a bad thing. " Then it slowly started to come together charges protection everyone , but that was just in stories right I mean they didn't actually exist.
"Holy shit , your a freaking guardian angel aren't you, son of a bitch and to think I was hoping those only existed in stories. Yeah I guess me burning down the city would be bad. " Of all the people she had to meet , it had to be someone so pure of heart and goodness who actually like humans. Why what was the point of liking humans they were a waist of space and nothing good came from them. At least that was what her family thought and she truly believed it. " So now that we both know we are to different sides of the spectrum , I have to ask why do you care so much about your charges humans. What have they done that was so great to earn protection , I mean they already are killing each other what should it matter if I don't help the process along. I just I have a hard time trying to find the goodness, in them when there isn't any. I mean sure they have there moments, but you have seen the world probably though so much do they really need redemption." Enough , Darien.. Sorry for taking so long.

Or rather about what exactly she was. Her personally he really didn't know anything about save for that she appeared to have quite a temper and wasn't afraid to speak her mind. Clearly though he'd shaken her up a bit despite the fact he'd just saved her from doing something incredibily stupid such as lighting a man on fire. Even if he might have deserved a few burns. The fact that she was asking him again for his name proved that much and he raised an eyebrow slightly, not sitting as she did but rather leaning against the picnic table instead. "I told you, it's Darien," He reminded lightly, not overly annoyed at her lack of memory considering she was likely rather engrossed in trying to figure out just what or who he was.
He could still feel the heat emanating from her body and guessed that she was still in the process of trying to decide whether or not to fry him. Frankly it would have been a bad life choice on her part. So far though she was holding back well enough and he listened to her next question concerning just how he knew so much about her kind. Especially since she now knew he wasn't a hunter and therefore wouldn't be privy to that sort of information if he was just another average human being. Shrugging a bit, he crossed his arms in a casual manner. "I know a lot about more than just your kind. Mostly out of necessity and partially curiousity. Been around as long as I have you tend to have a extra time on your hands," Still not giving anything away on is part. Let her figure it out seeing as she clearly thought herself keen minded. "Firetamers give off quite a bit of heat compared to others which made guessing what you were fairly simple,"
Darien hadn't necessarily assumed the word 'charge' would mean anything to the girl but it did seem to set the wheels of her mind in motion as she made the remark that something happeniing to his charge were she to set the city on fire would be considered a bad thing. "Bad would be an understatement," He commented, watching her expression as she continued to think, a dawning realization finally crossing her expression as she almost gaped at him. A bit of colorful language spurted from her mouth at that point and he raised both eyebrows then in slight amusement, going so far as to show his wings for a brief moment to cement the fact he indeed was not just some fictional character that existed only in stories. "Bona fide," It always amazing him that even other supernaturals could be arrogant enough to think other species outside of their own could not possiby exist.
This new revelation appeared to open up a rather sore subject for the fire tamer. Humans. What was so special about them that they deserved to be protected? This wasn't the first time Darien had been posed the question and there never really was one pat answer he could give to satisfy the one questioning. "None of them have done anything to 'earn' our protection. Even the best of them couldn't hope to do that. However, Heaven has given it to them nonetheless and it's my job to carry that duty out to the best of my ability," Even when he hadn't necessarily felt his charge was worthy of the protection he was giving someone else apparently thought so and for him that had always been enough. "Seems a bit narrowminded to judge the population as a whole on the actions of a few though don't you think?" She wasn't the only supernatural being who held that view though. It was the whole reason the war was being talked of in the first place. His tone wasn't judgmental, simply curious. "I've met as many non-humans with as much if not more evil in their soul after all. So why should I not just bunch you all together as deserving of death as well?"
