[/style] Perry's invitation had seemed like not something Jonathan actually wanted to accept, he'd been polite when he'd neutrally affirmed his offer but he'd never thought he'd step foot into this place. He'd walked past it many times before, never really taking a good look but now that he did he didn't know whether this met his expectations or didn't, it looked like many other restaurants and he really wouldn't know the difference between this place and other restaurants. Jon's policy had long since been that if it didn't serve beer it wasn't worth going to because really what else would you drink with a meal, not wine that is. Wine made your face all screwed up when you first tasted it and he really didn't know what was good wine and what was shit. But now that he paid actual attention to it he noticed the bar, which maybe severed beer. First things first though, he slowly made his way forward slightly concious of the way he was dressed. This was a casual place right? Because if it wasn't then he was severely under-dressed, he didn't want to draw any more attention to himself then absolutely necessary.
He looked around a couple of times more not exactly sure of what was going to happen now that he'd made it in. He saw a hostess type person heading towards him, she was polite and made asked him a couple of questions before leading him to his seat but really he didn't know what else happened because he only noticed moving from the door to his seat and nothing else. Jonathan didn't know whether he wanted Perry to see him, because then he'd be a friendly face and Jonathan could do with that at the moment, or on the other hand what if it turned out awkward. Their first conversation hadn't been the best and really he didn't know that much about him in the first place. Oh well he'd find out now that he was there an seated. He took a menu, opening it and hoping that they had something simple that wouldn't confuse him and that it was something he'd had before if not he'd have to take his chances and hope he that he didn't end up eating horse liver or something along those lines. He sighed and slowly flicked through it. 'What happens, will happen no matter what,' he thought to himself.

Perry had spent almost all day just doing his normal things. You know, looking over the workers' schedules, seeing what is needed for the restaurant, and picking out the day for the payday to happen so they can get their checks. It can be a hassle but that is all part of being an owner and he doesn't really do this for business. He does this because he loves this place, and loves being here with these amazing (yet sometimes crazy but you have to love them) people. In fact some new people will be coming in for a job! He can't wait to do that because Perry does it a bit different. He lets them have a taste of what they would do at the restaurant. If they handle it for an hour, they're hired. Simple as that. He will do that about tomorrow when they come in and he's looking forward for it. Finally (after what felt like years) he emerged from his office, wearing a simple buttoned down white shirt and a pair of slacks with a belt. He didn't want to dress in a suit especially at Georgio's since to him it is a relaxful place. Instead he wanted to dress comfortable and naturally as if he is a customer than of an owner. Perry had invited the young man Jonathan to come by to check out the place. He wondered if he is alright even after that tense encounter he had with the woman and of course the conversation they both had. But also he hoped the guy liked the place. He spotted him sitting at a table looking over the menu and walked cooly up to him then slid in across from him. "Hey," he exclaimed, "you came! Like anything you see on there?" if he wants something ordered, Perry will get up and head up to the cooks and tell him (giving the waitress a break since she is attending to a family of eight.) notes: Here you go, poor Jon feeling awkward. :)
|
[/style] It seemed to Jonathan like years before Perry emerged when in fact it couldn't have been more than five minutes. That was what happened when he was nervous, it made him feel on edge and slowed everything down. Maybe it was like a defence mechanism, things going in slow motion, maybe it was a way to cope in unusual circumstance. He watched perry walk towards him and breathed a sigh of relief, his body literally taking a more slumped position in the seat that he occupied. Jon did seem to under dressed, or maybe it was Perry that was actually under dressed because he seemed calm in a button down shirt. Sure it may have been more business like anyway to Jon's outfit but it just seeing that he hadn't committed a major faux pas. He liked to think that he didn't get nervous, that it didn't effect him but in reality it was part of his life like everyone else's. He couldn't be relaxed every minute of every day, where would the fun be in that? He looked at Perry and smiled, well attempted to smile, his nature didn't allow him to be to passive and friendly, it wasn't something he was natural at. He winced slightly when he heard the enthusiasm in Perry's voice but soon got over it, ''Hey, nice place, not like I expected but still... nice.'' He sounded as awkward as he felt, cringing slightly. Nice? Really? Couldn't he have though of something else? Anything else would have done.
When asked if he liked anything Jon almost didn't understand what he meant, taking a while to process what the question meant. He hoped that his pause wasn't misinterpreted, ''Oh, I don't know, everything looks good.'' He said that with as much authority as he dared, which really wasn't a lot. ''Anything you think I should go for?'' That was probably his safest bet, half the things on the menu he hadn't ever tried, a burger and chips his usual meal, or sometimes a variation of that, but never anything people would call adventurous, hell he had never really had anything but take away food since he'd left home, years ago. Jon took the menu and pushed it further away from him, looking up at Perry expectantly, before a thought occurred to him. Damn it, he hoped Perry didn't just decided to recommend the most expensive thing, Jonathan didn't know if he'd be able to afford that. His first impressions of the other man hadn't made him think that, that was what was going to happen but you could never know with people. ''Do you have any beer in this place, nothing too fancy.'' He hoped his little dilemma wasn't really anything to worry about, but if it had maybe Perry would be able to get the idea from Jonathan's statement, it hinted at it enough.

"Hey thanks," Perry replied. He wouldn't mind if someone said it was a nice place. Heck he had thought it was nice when he came by too and he wouldn't mind for a comment like that. At least it was a compliment. It wouldn't matter what it was. "Glad you think so. Well let's look at the menu maybe I can help." He had said that after the guy asked him and he would be glad to help. Perry sat down near the man but not too close since he wanted him to have his space, and looked through the menu. He also made sure the prices don't go way too high (like in some places) but at the same time be reasonable. "Okay you should definately try this one right here," he pointed to one in the pasta section. "Penne With Vodka Sauce. It is really good and check it out. Just 6.57 cents for the whole meal plus soda. You can also have breadsticks added for about a dollar." He looked over at the guy wondering if he'd like that. "Would you like that? If not I'm sure we'd find anything else."
Plus he forgot to mention he personally adds the vodka to it and help out. Of course one of the dishes on there was a recipe he had that he put in the menu after one of the cooks tried it out and exclaimed that it was good-his stromboli with cream cheese and sauce. It may taste disgusting but at the same time it tasted really good actually. As for dessert he would definatley help out with that. "Actually yes we have beer. Budweiser, Budlight, and Corona. But that is about it for now. Which would you like?" He had added those for those who likes that certain types and especially whenever there is a football game on. Since you don't really drink wine when it comes to football!

[/style] It didn't take long for Jon to finally feel calm enough to have a normal meal, he took of his jacket suddenly feeling more comfortable and in a way not needing as many layers for the feeling of safety. He didn't know how he could have been so weirded out by doing something so simple, he was a werewolf for God's sake and really used to situations that were a lot worse then this, just like it would be expected. Some people go out to do this as entertainment, damn how they can do it every night I will never know. He thought so himself, it would be a masochistic move for him, subjecting himself to something like this every night. For many people this helped them de-stress and let them come out of there shells a little. Not for Jonathan though.
When Perry finally recommended Jon something to eat an instant feeling of relief surged through him. It didn't sound too bad, hell he hadn't had it before but there were so many possibilities, maybe he'd even end up liking it. ''Cheers, I'll have that then, sounds great.'' Maybe great would have been an overstatement but oh well, it was reasonably priced, not as cheap as the things he normally ate but it was to expected, fast food was anything but a gourmet meal. He leaned back further into his seat at the mention of beer again he smiled a little, and nodded his head listening. He wasn't a fussy drinker, never had been and really he was tempted to ask what cost what as the deciding point for him but refrained, he was tight with his money but he could afford a beer at least, he wasn't broke and earned enough money for something so measly. ''Budweiser's fine, not really that picky.''
He was on the verge of inviting Perry to have a beer with him, but stopped himself just short. He didn't look like the type to drink beer and really there was no need for him to make things awkward, they were going a lot better then he would have thought and messing it up would have been like taking a step backwards. ''So what is actually part of your job description?'' Jon hadn't really gotten an answer to that in the pub, it really hadn't been the right sort of environment for chit chat, but now seemed like just the time to fix that.

"Alrighty then, I'll let the waitress know," Perry looked up and signaled one of the waitresses over. She is a beautiful woman with blond hair and blue eyes, somewhat like a blond haired Megan Fox but with brown eyes. "Hey Perry," she exclaimed. "Hey Sarah, listen my friend here would like the Penne With Vodka Sauce. Instead of soda is there a way you can have Budweiser as the drink? And as for the breadsticks I'm sure he'd love that as well." "Sure no problem! Anything for you?" "I would like the stuffed shells meal with a Coke on the side and breadsticks as well, please." He grabbed the two menus and handed it to her as Sarah recieved them and gave him a nod then wrote it down on the notepad so she would not forget. "Thanks sweetie." "No problem. Coming right up!" She walked off towards the kitchen and then Perry looked over at Jonathan after he had smiled at his employer. "Sarah just had started working here. She's a great person though and so are her young son Taylor and her husband James. I hired her off the spot after she had taken over for someone who had to go at the last minute to do something. She's a pro at it! This is also her first time working here. Can you believe it? She had no experience before this. But she said she used to help her mother out at home so it came to her." Then he paused and waved his hand. 'Sorry I rambled again."
Now the next question came. Perry listened to the question first and then took some time to explain it. Now after what felt like hours but really it was seconds of silence he spoke up. "Well as owner, I tend to pay the bills for the electricity, heat, air conditioner and mortgage of the restaurant. I also oversee the cooks, waiters or waitresses, hostesses, ect. to make sure they are doing good or if they need anything. Plus I do the hiring. I have a manager that covers the first shift and bottom but as they do hire people they made sure they get my approval. I also help out with the host position if a host or hostess is sick and there's no one else to take over. But I make sure everyone is treated with respect and dignity. I also help out the cooks too because I used to work as a chef. I know how sometimes it can be too much. I don't remember if I asked you what do you for a living. Have I? If not what do you do?"
OOC: Eh sorry for him to ramble. LOL

[/style] Since Jonathan was now able to calm down and actually observe what was going on, this place made quite an impression on him. It didn't look too out there, too foreign or alien to him, maybe not his first choice of restaurant but that didn't change the fact that by trying something knew he learnt that really he could actually come to like this place. But he wasn't going to be making a habit out of this really, he really doubted it did anything to help him maintain a somewhat werewolf like persona. It bothered him a little to think that he cared that much but really it was his instincts to get across his dominance and maybe that really leaked through to his human side, just a little. As soon as the waitress walked up to them his attention was once again shifted, and as Perry went on to tell Jon a little more about her Jonathan thought about how lucky some people were, to have steady jobs and really be sure about life and what they wanted out of it. He wasn't and damn he really wished that he did know what it could offer him. There was still time to figure out but he felt a little jealous of the people who were ahead of him and already had businesses much like Perry.
''Oh it's fine really, better then awkward silence, can't tolerate that sh-'' He cut himself of not sure whether or not it was acceptable to swear here, he was sure it was but he was sitting here with the manager and a man that looked like didn't do much swearing of his own. He looked away for a second before Perry spoke again, meaning that Jon had to look back out of common courtesy. ''Sounds like you're busy all the time, that must suck.'' He felt hesitant about talking about himself to this man who had a lot more then him and was likely to judge, even if he didn't show it Jon still knew what went through peoples brain, it was all the same and really nothing that original. Maybe Perry was different, he had no idea but human nature still made him nervous. ''Oh I just do this and that, car repairs and things like that when I need cash, nothing special, sometimes I fix up cars that'd been written off and sell 'em.'' Talking about his life made him feel off, he didn't know how much this man knew about the supernatural and he wasn't going to be the one to break it to him, if he didn't know about it already. Even the humans weren't as oblivious as they used to be to everything out of their own realm of possibilities.

The guy was about to swear and instantly Perry smiled. "If you want to swear go ahead. It's not like I will throw you out. Just make sure you're not sitting nearby a little kid when doing so." He looked around and lucky for Jonathan, most of the kids are at the left. "Which I do think you would have to deal with their parents far more than of me and you're in luck, there's a family with kids at the far left so you're safe and thank goodness. Sometimes me talking too much can irritate people but everyone, including I, have flaws." When he was commented on his job, he shrugged his shoulders. "Nah not really," Perry explained. He was actually glad he would say that. "I mean sure it does suck but other times, it's great. Especially working with such caring and amazing people and meet all kinds of people when they come through those doors. However we even had a share of people who just likes to cause trouble than of sitting down and having a good time. Believe me."
Then he waited until the guy was done telling him about himself before he spoke again. From what he was getting from him, it wasn't that bad! He is glad he had that kind of job. Maybe Jonathan and his brother Garrett would get along fabously since Garrett is into that as well as his wife Sarah believe it or not. And since Perry's car is somewhat a troublehead...there you go. "That sounds like a good job," Perry noted. "I mean you fix cars and sell them I think it sounds pretty neat from what I can tell. Maybe if I need some help with mine I can always call you up to get it fixed or what not." He had other plans for himself though. Owning a restaurant was one of them but there was a time when Perry had other plans too. "In fact at first I worked as a chef before I owned one. I mean it had always been my dream but when I was little I used to want to be President. Thank goodness I didn't do that. Talk about stress! It would've been too much for me. You would have seen me step down after a year. But anyway owning a restaurant was a dream for me but this wasn't really owned by me in the beginning. The late owner willed it to me. It was bad at first when I first owned it but I got the hang of it and it's been doing okay now. Very proud to have made sure it stayed exactly how the owner wanted it since I looked up to him. He was a great guy." Their food arrived and he thanked the waitress before he went and digged into his food. He took a bite and then took a sip soon after. "So Jonathan, how long have you worked as a mechanic?" Perry now asked.
OOC: Sorry for the late reply!

notes: Din't mean to make him so angry, but that's just him. :P Sorry for the delay.
|
[/style] Even as Perry told him he could swear, Jonathan didn't really think it would be acceptable, maybe he was just trying ot make him feel more comfortable. Jon in general wasn't usually much of a swearer but it helped him release his anger sometimes, he couldn't really go beat something every time he felt angry because that would have been about seventy percent of the time. As Perry went on to explain to him why he really didn't mind the swearing Jonathan thought to himself that, if what Perry was saying was actually the truth then he was one of the most patient people he knew. But he doubted that a man of his age could not be at least a little jaded, it didn't work that way. At least for the supernatural it didn't, there was always something messed up when it came to everyone that was non humans. It was the humans that usually got of scot free, they were the lucky ones. Or at least the oblivious ones were. For a second he felt his anger rise, was Perry one of those who didn't know what life was really?
He didn't really hear most of what Perry was trying to say his anger was rising and he suddenly wished that his food would just arrive so that he could eat it and go. But then he knew how unreasonable he was actually being, it was just that he didn't think some people could get all the good luck and have it so good, sure he didn't have it so bad and he didn't know Perry and what he'd been through but from the look of him it didn't seem to be that bad, whatever his past was. He didn't seem scarred enough for him to have experienced real life. He almost asked him out right why he had it so good, but decided to wisely keep his mouth shut because he had enough going on already, pissing someone off was not his goal.
Listening to what was actually being said, Jon tried to take his mind of things, he knew he looked tense and so he willed himself to just relax. As Perry spoke more and more he realised that it wasn't helping so he just zoned out, knowing it was rude but it would have been better then just storming off. He didn't deserve that and Jon wasn't that much of an ass to do something so self-regarding. "It's been off and on for a couple of years now." And in that moment the food arrived allowing him to have something else to set his mind too, maybe that would help. He hoped. "To be honest it's just so that I have something to live on, not really anything major."

The food finally came and it smelled so good. And the way the cooks cooked it was exactly how he had hopeed it would be. But before it would come, he could tell off the bat by the silence that something isn't right. Poor Perry, he was rambling his mouth off and yet Jonathan seemed tense as if he didn't want to remain there anymore than he wanted to. Plus he was probably waiting for his food too, and the truth was so was Perry but he was used to it of them taking their time. The restaurant is a bit packed today and there was not that many waitresses working today so the only ones there today are doing as much as they can. He'll most definately help them out a bit later on. He liked helping his co-workers as much as possible.
Besides it was way better than sitting around pointing at things for them to do and drink something while they are working their butts off. Whoever does that shouldn't even own a restaurant. Perry gave him a nod before he began to eat his food. A cover of "White Wedding" by the band Aiden started to play. He loved their cover, it covered how Billy Idol did back in the eighties. Sometimes a cover song isn't that good but other times it is, and this was one of them. In fact one of the restaurant's customers requested it.
"I see, I mean, I even am glad I started as a cook than of diving into owning a restaurant. I would have had a hell of a hard time. So I'm really glad I met Georgio who taught me how to be a good owner and most importantly a good person as well as a cook." Yep, having friends like that can help. He smiled now. "So, how do you like the food?" The number one question of all time right there!
OOC: It's all good :) though er my fault for having Perry talk so much and sorry for the loooong wait-I think Perry went out for a long time. He's back though!
