Despite everything that was happening, Nick found himself rather bored. No- not bored. That was the wrong word for it. It was more in a running around scramble trying to find something fun to do. With the war starting, there was so much professional stuff on top of all of it. Gathering all of his troops and army while gathering around and collecting allies (very proud of himself for gaining the Ellis family so quickly even with the head of the family dying). He wanted a good balance of fun within this. War was exciting and everything, but wrong kind of fun he was looking for. Most of his entertainment had been running away from him. Starting to make himself known in the city. There was still a good count of the population who didn’t know who he was. Which was fine. He didn’t require that everyone know him. In fact, he would prefer it that way, in a strange sort. It gave him more leeway of who he could possibly be. After all, he didn’t have to tell the whole truth the whole time. Did he?
He found himself in the richer neighborhood. Specifically in the little diner that they all loved so much. Rich people always amused him. He thought it was interesting a group of individuals thought they were superior over someone else just by the amount of green slips of paper they had in their pocket. Didn’t they know that power had only a little to do with money? It was more of what you could do with the money. If you had money and spent it all on these ridiculous dinners, it wasn’t very powerful or motivational, now was it? That’s what people didn’t understand. It was about power and leadership. Power with no leadership skills was almost worthless. Had to be strong enough to carry the force. Look at what he was dealing with, for example. He had little money, but by the power of persuasion, he was still able to get exactly what he wanted. Like enough money so he could eat at this little dinner thing as well as find some company. Good company. Something he was able to talk to and continue to not bore him. That was the plan.
Where to begin though? Any one of these fools would be able to fill the position. Nick sat there for a couple of moments, waiting for someone to come alone. It was never fun when there was two of them. Unless they happened to be twins, but even then, it was a hard game to play. This is all it was to Nick. A game. He wasn’t even sure of the rules yet, but the man couldn’t have nothing but work in his life. This would fill it perfectly, if only there were someone who interested him enough. The task ended up being a little more difficult than he thought. When he wasn’t looking, it happened all the time. A random stranger coming up to him and demanding something. Finding a sleeping partner within a couple of words and seconds from each other. Among those lines. Once he even found a vampire who was freaking out over killing a hunter. A silly thing to be freaking out over, if you asked Nick, but he tried to calm her and give her a different perspective. The beautiful vampire who later lay next to him. Events like that just fell on him.
However, at that moment, it seemed that searching for one was the wrong way to look at it. How frustrating. Nick didn’t show his frustration, of course. He continued to make a musical high pitched note with lightly touching a crystal glass in front of him. There were those who turned and couldn’t believe the lack of respect he had for the place, but he was doing this on purpose. Fine, if someone had to come to him, at least he could make it an excuse. Except as soon as he said that, there was a woman who sat down that automatically grabbed his attention. Stunning. There were plenty of women who looked good (and that’s all they were to Nick- stunning toys to grow babies), but this one was the type to make head turns. She didn’t seem happy though. Her face in a frown, almost. Oh, this one was interesting enough indeed. All he had to do was see for himself. With unbelievable boldness, he walked up and sat across from her, bringing his menu. The woman who had seated her seemed oddly confused, but Nick gave a grin and waved her away. Which seemed to work at the time. Turning to the blonde woman he was now sitting across from, he gave his most modest smile, ”Pardon, but you appeared like you could need company.” And that’s exactly what Nick was looking for as well. Let the games begin.
