I wanna feel reckless, I wanna live it up, just because
i want to feel weightless and that should be enough
Honestly, Shane still couldn't believe it, as he was standing in front of his mirror, getting ready for his date with Judas. Date. It was an entirely new sensation to him, since he did not go on dates. He was the flirty charmer who hooked people in and after a night let them go again, or became their fwb if they came back for more. he never got involved in a more personal way, it wasn't the way he rolled, it was outside his own comfort zone and yet he had been the one to ignite all of this. shane had just been his flirty self, the way he always was, just flirting it up, being the careless bastard he was. only.. he did care. the longer he talked to judas, the more he began to care. the more he wanted the other man to like him, especially since it seemed that for the first time shane's charm did not work on a person. he was intrigued, he truly was, and that alone was a challenge, because if you were able to keep the shapeshifter's attention for longer than a day, that was quite something, and that pesky merman had been haunting his head every since they met for the first time.and that was something really exceptional and shane wanted to find out what the hell it was. nobody but mona and jack had ever been able to keep him interested for that long, only in different ways and all, so shane just wanted to know. he wanted to find out.
so tonight, on the date to which judas had surprisingly said yes, shane was going to take him to his grandmother's restaurant. in his opinion she had the best italian food in the whole world, but he might be a little biased, though it was an unspoken rule that old women made the best food. they did, it was a fact. checking his appearance once more in the mirror, shane shoved a beanie over his wild brown manes, because even though he had managed to look a little more fancy than normally, he still did not leave his house without a beanie on his head. it was something that was just no, and he was alright with that. so he hopped on his motorcycle, since shane was shane and he did not go for the mainstream toyota prius, no shane had a motorcycle. he digged the rush he got from driving that thing. the sounds it made, how fast it went and that you could actually feel the wind was the best thing. it was a miracle that he actually remembered to take an extra helmet with him, but thank god he had, because he knew judas was not the most stupid daredevil around like shane was, so he might appreciate the helmet. soon he arrived at the place where he'd pick judas up and rang the doorbell, waiting patiently for the other man to open up. "Buenasera, bell'uomo. You ready?" the shapeshifter asked, waiting for his date to be ready before strolling back to his motorcycle, handing him one of the helmets, in the hope that judas wouldn't protest against it and then kick-started his vehicle as the other man had taken place behind him, to race off to the town multiplex.
his grandmother's joint was not insanely big, but it was definitely well-known all through manuka. it wasn't a joint you would go for business meetings, it was not fancy but it was cosy and had a family-like atmosphere to it, which was what attracted most people to it. it was very much like his grandma, he would admit that. "here we are." the man said as he parked his motorcycle and hopped off, waiting for judas to walk with him inside. but the second they got inside, a tiny, white-haired woman rushed out of the kitchen, mumbling words that were seemingly uncomprehensive for those who didn't know them. "Shane, mio bel nipotino, quanto grande sei diventato, Gesù Cristo. Sei un cattivo ragazzo, non visitare la nonna per un tempo così lungo. Come sta tua madre facendo, ei tuoi fratelli eh? Ditemi tutto su di esso, mentre io vado e faccio un po 'di pasta, e-" her rapid rambling stopped about the same time as she quit circling around her grandson and noticed the handsome man who was standing besides shane, her eyes lighting up like firework. Shane opened his mouth to introduce his date, but it was of no use. "nonna, questo è judas e-"oh, chi è questo? hai portato una data a me, oh Shane mio bambino, lui è molto bello, che è una buona scelta. ora vorrei vedere voi ragazzo, quello che è il suo nome? ah, benvenuto judas, benvenuto!" she just kept on going, now circling around judas, which made shane want to facepalm, trying to interrupt her. "nonna, e-"Spero che il mio ragazzo è stato il trattamento è giusto, ti piace la pasta? naturalmente vi piace la pasta, sedersi sedersi. Shane, prendersi cura di quel ragazzo, eh? vai vai vai, io vado rendere il cibo. ti amo, è bello che sei passata." the woman said, pincing shane's cheeks for a second before flitting back to the kitchen, leaving shane without words to say for a moment. that was.. so typical. "i told you she was more work than i am." he just said with a chuckle, gesturing at one of the tables that she always kept reserved for family members for when it got really crowded in here. since there was always a place for family members. "i will tell you beforehand that you do not have a say in what you're eating. my nonna seems to think she knows what every customer of her wants and needs. and for you, i think she just wants to do extra well." shane said with a slight roll of his eyes, as much as the old woman drove him crazy sometimes, he knew she all meant well. dropping himself down opposing judas, he flashed the merman a smile, his eyes flitting around the restaurant for a second before focusing back on his date. "so.. you like it here so far?"
