you started a war that you can't win they keep erasing all the streets we grew up in
Jun liked it when everything was still. There were no distractions for him to get started and pissy over, and possibly invoke his bloodlust. He was, by all means, not a vampire, but rather simply a creature that liked spilling it. Things are of course allowed to not be still, but he would rather not have them in his presence unless they were abstract. He was still struggling to maintain some sense of control within himself, and he couldn't rely on maths forever to keep him in check. It was almost as bad as him being a werewolf, except that he had no idea how those mutts felt during the full moon. Jun had to assume that they were like him as well, but at least they weren't struggling with it all day and could maintain some sort of control.
The demonic sentient being part of himself was quiet because nothing had caught its eye, but the urge to kill was still there nonetheless. The hellhound found it easier to keep himself in check when nothing distracted him, and often sought refuge at places like the library. He was now burying his head in a huge dictionary and seated at a far corner of the room. Jun's English was fluent and flawless, but traces of his accent still remained that still tickled some people. It wasn't his fault that he had not been born and raised in the U.S.A, but the boy wasn't complaining because he hardly spoke anyway. He was a mute fart most of the time, so there really was nothing to worry about.
The dictionary was far from entertaining, but Jun pressed on relentlessly, words pouring into his head like a waterfall. He truly did like reading and learning, even if was just an endless supply of fancy English words. In and out the words fell in to such a point that he didn't realize that his eyes were closing. His head smacked the thick pages of the book with a loud thonk, the noise echoing around the library. Jun's head shot up, embarrassment clouding his features. He quickly buried his head into the book again, deliberately avoiding the new gazes that were shot his way.

It was quiet. Much too quiet. But could you make any noise to spice it up? No. Ridiculous. Ever since the school librarian gave her detention in second grade for talking too loud, she's had a strong dislike fir libraries. Well, not the places or people themselves. She just couldn't stand the silence, the muffled sounds of pages being turned, hushed breathing. Like a graveyard. Like everyone was dead. She shuddered at the thought, bunching the ends of her sleeves in her hands in a tight grip. Sometimes she found it difficult to realize she wasn't alive. Wouldn't be able to feel the warmth of the sun, or the chilling bite of the snow ever again. Not even that stinging pinch you would get on St. Patrick's Day if you didn't wear green. She couldn't have children, and often she could not materialize to socialize. Becoming solid was increasingly easier recently, but it made her feel tired and irritable, and she did not like those feelings.
She was wandering the nonfiction section, chocolate brown eyes scanning the shelves, swinging her arms at her sides like a little child. The ghost was currently visible to anyone near, and solid to the touch. She was particularly energetic today, so she might as well practice her powers, and if she disappeared, no one would ask questions; with rows and rows of shelves packed with books of all kinds, it was easy to lose track of anyone. Perfect.
When nothing caught her eye, she aimlessly roamed the building, as if waiting for something to happen. She assumed nothing would. The library wasn't necessarily a place where you would see a gang fight or anything like that. She would have better luck elsewhere, perhaps flash a fake I.D. to get into a club, or chat up one of the locals at the nearest coffee shop. But she didn't want to leave. Not yet. Something was tugging on her, saying that she shouldn't go. So she stayed, awaiting something that possibly would not happen.
Luckily, it did, and it started with a loud thud echoing to her senses. The girl was more than pleased, poking her head around the corner of the shelf to see a man sitting, alone, looking up with a look of embarrassment. His forehead was slightly pink, indicating that he had hit his head... against his dictionary? A giggle escaped her lips as she practically danced over, the hood with panda ears bouncing atop her head. Finally!
"Hi there!" Rin greeted cheerfully, though kept her voice down. Still in the library, so she couldn't be loud, but that did not wipe the friendly smile from her face. "Are you alright? You look a little tired," she continued on, taking a seat in the empty chair next to his. However, it wasn't long until she was turned completely sideways, knees tucked beneath her and elbows on the armrest to face the stranger again. OUTFIT: HERENOTES: i'm sorry i had to XD |

you started a war that you can't win they keep erasing all the streets we grew up in
It was no secret to anyone that Jun was awful whenever it came to socializing. He was awkward and unusually timid, and the fact that he was a voluntary mute in fear of embarrassing himself didn't help. It was such a far cry from his true shifter form, murderous and violent, and the boy was sweet and kind at heart. But there were some things that were beyond his control, and it was not his fault that the demon of his father were among the notorious bunch. Luckily however, his immortal mother had been a gigantic sweetheart that had wormed her way into his father's heart, and he had her to thank for that. Still, it was still difficult for him to control himself, but he liked to believe that he was getting better at it day by day. Unfortunately, his circle of friends was pitifully tiny, and although Jun did suffer the occasional bout of loneliness, the boy had gotten used to it.
He had hoped dearly that no one had noticed him and the small ruckus that he had made, although he was pretty sure that he had attracted a few curious stares. His eyes zoomed as he read the dictionary, but his ears and nose were sharp. He heard the girl before she greeted him, but he took no notice of the new, feminine scent. Who would talk to him anyway? The hybrid was just one out of many, and there were many other more fun people that were worth talking to besides him. Jun didn't think he had much to offer as an individual. His primary interest was in mathematics and computers, and he didn't come across people like him often. The thought of meeting others simply scared him, and he ran more often than talked anyway.
So, when the greeting came, the hellhound nearly cried out and jumped out of his skin. Jun glanced around to meet the source of the feminine smell earlier, and looked around to see whether she was addressing anyone else. It couldn't have be more obvious that she was talking to him, her chair was turned completely towards him after all. His head bopped back down to the dictionary, but his eyes poked out, surveying the attractive young woman in front of him. His first thought was how adorable the panda hoodie looked on her, but as usual, he kept his mouth shut.
Jun gulped, unsure of what to do next. His hand slowly reached for the back of his pocket, and out came the flash cards. It was going to take him a while to find his voice since he couldn't remember the last time he had ever spoken properly with anyone. Placing the open dictionary down, he then flipped through the dog-earred cards, searching for a proper reply. A little, flashed the card, Jun offering the girl a small smile. And then another, a battered old one, well used. I don't speak much. I hope you don't mind for a while. And then a last one, at the very back of the pile. I'm Jun. [/div] TAGS vine/rin WORDS - NOTES eeeee[/div] template created by NAGA for use on NIGHTMARE.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 400px; background-color: #000000; padding:20px; border-top: 10px #FF0080 solid; border-bottom: 10px #FF0080 solid;] i would die for you ( WORDS ) 499 ( TAGGED ) NAGA/JUN ( STATUS ) COMPLETE "Sorry if I startled you," she giggled, noticing the splash of surprise on the young man's face. She hadn't anticipated that reaction, but it was amusing all the same. Manners wasn't something she invested her energy in, although it seemed like he didn't mind her presence in the chair close to his. Now she had high hopes for today; he didn't look at her funny, which she always took kindly. As much as she loved to make people stare, those judgmental gazes could get real tiring after a while.
Rin had always had a thing for standing out, whether it be public display of her obsession with pandas or some of her wilder fashion choices, she just can't deal with the thought of being the "same" as someone else. Or being compared. Oh, how she hated that. Comparison was cruel, even if you were told you reminded someone of their favorite celebrity. Why the hell would being similar to someone be a good thing? She was her own person with her own thoughts and feelings. Why no one could understand that would forever be a mystery to her.
It took her a moment to realize that this guy was staying quiet. Her thoughts ran so fast and once they started it was difficult to pull herself out of them, but the rustling of paper, luckily, brought the ghost back to attention. He was flipping through notecards with various phrases written on their surfaces, some more worn than others. It confused her, until he showed her one. Oh! Poor darling didn't like, or perhaps couldn't, talk? "Don't worry about it," she whispered, deciding to keep her voice low since she caught some people sort of glaring at her. Their problem, not hers, as she thought often.
Her gaze quickly scanned the next card he held up, smiling brightly in return. Jun. She liked that name, mainly because she'd never met anyone with that name until now. It also reminded her of her brother, Jae, which only made her giggle again. His expressions were priceless whenever she was around, although... Well, she felt a little bad that her presence frightened him so, which is really the reason why she was here instead of bugging him. But these were the kind of thoughts she didn't like, so the girl pushed them aside, metaphorically, to focus on Jun.
"I'm Hyo, but you can call me Rin," she tilted her head to the side, dark brown eyes flickering down to his dictionary purely out of curiosity. "I hope I didn't interrupt some intense studying," Rin joked lightly, referring to when Jun had practically fallen asleep and hit his head. She wasn't one to judge a book by its cover, but she was really getting the shy guy vibe as well as assuming he was some sort of genius if he enjoyed looking through a dictionary. Not that she minded those kinds of people. In fact, it was usually a wonderful source of entertainment if you got them flustered. OUTFIT: HERENOTES: this is sooooo cute cx |
