Dark clouds and rain had been hanging around since early that morning and were making pretty much any outdoor activity no possible. For a good amount of people that meant sleeping in or snuggling on the couch with a good book or movie. For others it was simply another work day despite it being the weekend and they were keeping busy enough to not care about the weather in some office or other. Today happened to be Ryden's day off from the zoo though and while he normally spent those with Darby she had family obligations, or so her parents had informed her at least. So being left to his own devices the fallen angel had enjoyed a slow morning at his apartment before deciding he needed to get out of the house for a bit rain or no rain.

A lot of the time he never had any specific destination in mind when he went for a walk through the city. It was just more fun to wander until you happened upon something that caught your eye or you ended up simply enjoying the sights of the city without ever really stopping anywhere. Today was no different in that respect and wearing a hoodie over his t-shirt and jeans to keep him semi-dry if he were to encounter anything more than the drizzle now falling from the sky. Locking the door behind him he took a left after leaving his apartment building as that would take him towards the center of the city and therefore more possibilities of entertainment to be found.

He walked past a few of the more popular businesses, Nirvana Day Spa, Georgios, The Cookie Jar, Kapow Comics, Steaming Beans. He'd been in all of them more than once and had enjoyed the visits each time. Not really feeling drawn to any of them today though he simply kept going, savoring the fresh smell in the air thanks to the rain. Manuka was a fairly clean city compared to some others and they had a lot of environmentally friendly buildings and laws put into place that limited the amount smog and over all dirtiness but even so it was a populated city and it still was in no way comparable to the wide open spaces of the countryside.

A few more blocks down and he walked past a glass front display that did catch his attention. Behind the clear wall was none other than a litter of wiggling and tumbling puppies. The sight brought an immediate smile to Ryden's lips and he stopped to look in for a moment before deciding this was the place he'd been looking for to kill some time. Animals had always been something Ryden had enjoyed even before he'd become a Guardian and obviously his choice of career reflected that as well. Dealing with them was ten times easier and more enjoyable than dealing with other people and quite a bit more entertaining and fulfilling than a boring office job. Rounding the corner after going through the door he walked up to the large pen where the puppies were still playing and now that he was on the other side of the glass could interact with them. His hand was an immediate attention grabber and three of the pups attacked it with kisses and little nips immediately bringing a chuckle of amusement from the angel. Yep definitely a good place to spend a rainy afternoon.

Yay, rain. The redhead had always liked the coolness that it brought and the smell of it. Her windows were slightly open to let a little of the rain in, much to Edgar's disgruntlement at being sprayed by the falling drops every now and then. It hadn't rained in a while due to it being summer in Manuka. Lenore was going to appreciate this as much as she could. The cool air and the smell of rain truly appealed to her. She wondered if she should stop sitting around and trying to figure out what to do and instead, go out and plop around in the puddles that the rain had created. It was indeed the quirky girl's idea of entertainment, but it wouldn't be too fun by herself. She wondered if she should call Devin up, but the melancholic ghost didn't seem the type to be amused by bouncing around in puddles.

There was absolutely no way in hell was she going to sit around and do fucking nothing. Lenore looked around almost desperately, before her eyes fell on Edgar's empty food bowl. Well, now that seemed like a rather perfect plan. Her mind made up, she snatched the squawking raven from his perch and placed him on her shoulder, where his talons proceeded to dig into them automatically. Lenore glanced outside her windows again. The rain seemed to have let up a little, making it perfect for her to take a stroll. Because Edgar had never once shown signs of flying away even when her windows were wide open, the redhead could bring him anywhere she pleased. It was a bit too abnormal for a common white raven, but Edgar had been with her for such a long time that Lenore was long used to his quirky personality.

Hopping out of her apartment after locking the doors behind her, the young human strolled casually down the wet streets, enjoying the rainy air. The streets were almost empty because everyone was staying in, making it all the more perfect. Lenore figured that even the baddie supernaturals were lazy and decided to stay in. It was just that pleasant of day, irony aside. On her shoulder, the white raven croaked quietly, and the redhead took it as a sign that he was enjoying the weather too.

She soon made it to the pet shop, and stares were immediately thrown her away at Edgar's soft croaking. White ravens were indeed rare specimens, and Lenore was long used to the attention she received whenever she brought him out. She even had to keep a watchful eye around in case there were incognito poachers. She hated those fuckers. With that grim thought in mind, Lenore continued forward, and somehow managed to accidentally bump into a bloke who was busying himself with puppies. "Ops," mumbled the redhead while Edgar croaked in alarm. "Shit, I'm sorry."

If she was living with him it wouldn't have been a problem as his apartment complex allowed pets and they'd both be there to take care of it. Seeing as there was really no way to tell if her parents would ever really decide to let their daughter move out or if she was really even ready for that seeing as it had only been six months since they started dating. It seemed like a lot longer than that though. Like they had known each other forever really.

Still as much as he would have loved to have Darby with him every single day and get to wake up to her beautiful smile every morning the angel was content with getting to see her most every day as it was. No point in rushing really not when he knew he wasn't planning on going anywhere. She was it and that was that. So he'd settled on a different gift for the special date and saved the pet for another time in the future. It was fun to browse though and quite honestly he was happier here than around most of the people in this city anyway. They were happy with a loving pat and some attention, maybe a treat or two if you had one to give.

Engaged in a rather one sided bout of tug-o-war with one of the more playful pups, Ryden's attention was momentarily caught as someone bumped into him lightly. It wasn't really even enough to knock him off balance but the girl who'd been the cause of it was already apologizing for it, appearing as surprised as he was. He gave her an easy smile and shook his head dismissively, "No harm done, don't even worry about it," The reassurance was given lightly even as his brown eyes shifted to look at the white bird perched on her shoulder. It seemed a little more perturbed about the incident than either his owner or Ryden, ruffling his feathers a bit before beginning to settle back down.

"Beautiful bird," He commented, wondering how long it had taken her to come across such a specimen. "He always this well behaved?" It was rare to see anyone with a raven as a pet let alone be able to let it ride so nonchalantly upon their shoulder without fear of it flying away. And seeing as its wings were clearly not clipped that was a definite possibility. The girl acted as if she were used to it being there though and all in all it had Ry rather intrigued.
