She walked in the woods not sure where she was going. She really just wanted to get away from the noise of the city. It was her second day off out of her total of three. Last night she had gone out to dinner with Decklyn and it had ended really well. Thinking of it now she got butterflies in her stomach and felt a little overwhelmed. She didn’t know what she was doing really because she had never been in an actual relationship with anyone. But she did know that everything with him felt right and she didn’t want it to go away. Every time she thought of him a smile spread across her face and she felt like she was floating on a cloud. Emeri had never felt this way about anyone and was sure that it was a dream. But the best part was that she knew it was all very real.

Emeri sat down under a big pine tree and crisscrossed her legs underneath her. She looked out at the trees around her and listened to her surroundings. She had her crystal and thought about practicing a little magic. She took it out and thought about what she could do. At first she kicked up some dirt. She reached out her hand and started to make it swirl in the air around her hand. She let herself smile at her magic. Then she heard a crack a few yards away and she let the dirt fall around her again. She pushed herself against the tree trying to put herself in the shadows as much as possible. Emeri knew that bad things lurked in the woods, but she doubted that anyone would actually find her here and hurt her. And if they tried, she had her magic with her and she could use it to get away.

As he wandered the woods, Jerrett really had no idea where he was going. He decided to get away from the hubbub of the city for a while, and maybe roll up some pot while he was at it. Plus, he could get away from Goose for a bit. Although the werewolf really had nothing against his brother, he needed a breather sometimes from his playful sibling. It seemed that Harlyn wasn't enough for Goose to mess around with, he was also targeting Joshua as well. As much as Jerrett pitied the kid since Joshua had pretty much became his replacement, he was also relieved. Despite his intelligence, the boy was often victim to Goose's little pranks and tricks. He was sometimes too smart for his own good, too smart to see the obvious. Not everything was complicated all the time. Jerrett still needed to realize that. He could tell you all the properties of a shark for hours. but he couldn't explain Goose's antics properly despite him being his older brother without trying to include a technical, biological term or two. And he was high on pot a few hours a day, and the quickened information did not help one bit.

Jerrett quietly sniffed the air, enjoying the smell of nature. The forest was clean and peaceful, he could walk around without worrying about being attacked. He was pretty sure that there were plenty of wild beasts around, but he knew that he could defend himself should the need arose. His foot came down on a branch, and with a loud crack, the wood snapped underneath his feet. He blinked as the sound echoed through the forest, the trees seeming to vibrate from the sound. Before he could start thinking and come up with a proper explanation as to how sound traveled in the air and all that sort of intellectual shit no one bothered to think about but him, his sharp ears caught the sound of someone shifting. The rustle of clothing, hair, and Jerrett slowly breathed in the tingly magic scent that came from a near pine tree. He sneezed as the scent tickled his nose. There had been magic around here, recent.

Magic had to be produced from somewhere, right? The werewolf suddenly realized that perhaps he wasn't alone after all, and that there was someone else in the forest with him. He inched himself closer, and the woman's scent came wafting towards him, feminine and young, laced with magic. A witch. "I know you're there, miss." he called in a friendly tone. "Yes, you, the lovely young lady behind the pine. You can come out if you like, I'm not going to hurt you or anything." He leaned against a nearby tree and waited patiently for the witch to show herself if she wanted to. Jerrett had all the time in the world.
