[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, background-color:#000000; width:408px; padding:8px;]You didn't have to like marine life or even animals period to admit that the Taksil Aquarium was an impressive looking building. The way it was built almost made it look like something of a work of art on the inside, the canvas being water, a million gallons of the liquid and the color palette just about every single type of water related animal on the planet. Clearly no expense had been spared which meant that not only did the public enjoy a high class style experience but the animals received the best of everything as well, food, care, medical treatment you name it. Luka had been working at the regular veterinary hospital in the center of the city for about two months when he'd received a call from the director of the aquarium asking if he'd would consider working there a couple days a week. He'd happily agreed to the offer and for the past year and a half had been splitting his time between both places.
Today happened to be one of those days he was at the aquarium, stationed towards the back of the huge building in the medical wing. Dedicated completely to the well being of the animals it had the newest and best equipment money could buy which Luka enjoyed getting to use whenever possible. Not that he enjoyed seeing any of the animals sick or hurt but having the tools at his disposal to heal them was wonderful to say the least. He could remember back when he was still in veterinary school and some of the hospitals they'd gone for their clinical work were lacking in funds to the point where you barely had what necessary equipment was needed. If anything though it had taught him how to think quick and make do with what you had which in the long run he felt made him a better veterinarian.
He'd come in this morning to be greeted by two large travel kennels brought in by two of the aquarium employees. And it wasn't dogs or even cats inside of them. Nope, not here. Popping open the little cage like doors had revealed a pair of Adelie penguins in each, although you wouldn't have known it just by looking at them. A shiny black sort of goo covered their normally black and white feathers and Luka recognized it instantly as oil. "Looks like you guys got yourself in some trouble, eh?" He remarked out loud, smiling in amusement at the disgruntled little creatures. With some help from one of the vet techs, they managed to get the birds out of the cages and into a square sort of tub where the two went to work scrubbing them down and until every last drop of oil was washed out. That had taken a good few hours and now it was time to actually examine them and make sure they were alright health wise.
Taking his time with each one individually, Luka finished up with the last one, a satisfied smile on his face. "Well little oil adventure aside they all seem to be in good condition otherwise so I don't see any reason they can't be placed in the temporary exhibit in the morning," Separate from the regular penguin enclosure it was made for any animals that were new or not staying on permanently. He wasn't sure what would happen to these four little guys, who he'd dubbed Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private after the penguins on the Madagascar movies. Most likely they'd try to release them back into the wild which was what Luka would have preferred to see happen. It was where they belonged after all. Cases such as this one always pissed him off a bit though. Just plain human carelessness was what it was and they were the unfortunate victims. Thankfully places like this existed to help in those situations.
After checking up on a few other of the animals he'd been treating over the course of the week, Luka finally found himself able to go home. Or out on the town whichever seemed the most appealing once he left the building, which knowing him would end up being the latter option. Hanging up the white lab coat and changing from his scrubs into jeans and a button up shirt, he headed out of the medical wing and through the main area open to the public, rounding a corner only to bump directly into someone moving past. "Woah, sorry about that!" He apologized quickly, a good natured smile parting his lips. "No harm done I hope?"

I'll never stop, breaking the law for you. Ever since Katirena was young, she'd had a fondness for animals of al kinds. Most of her personal favorites were all land animals, but she had a soft spot for marine life as well. Since she'd moved to town, she'd never been to the aquarium until now. None the less, she was here, and Kat planned on enjoying herself as much as possible, considering she hardly had any time for that sort of thing. The Taksil Aquarium wasn't much of an aquarium from the outside when you first laid eyes on it. At first glance it looked more like an elegant art museum with the way the building was constructed, and all the attention to detail. It certainly wasn't something you'd expect from a public aquarium, but it only added to the charm of the place. There was a healthy crowd by the time Kat showed up, and she waited her turn in line as she paid her admission fee, and made her way inside. A part of her felt like a little girl again, when her father use to take her to the zoo. Her first destination was the seal exhibit. Every since she was young, and took her first trip to Sea World, she's had a love for sea lions. Even if these ones didn't preform the same fancy tricks as the ones back in California, they still fascinated Kat. They all had their own personalities, and they had so much spunk and character. It brought a smile to her face as she watch the sea lions on display play and chase each other through the water, diving and splashing playfully. Ever since Kat had been turned into a werewolf, she's always felt a deeper connection to animals whenever she was around them. She understood them more now that a part of herself was an animal too. Next she made her way to the dolphins, also another favorite. Dolphins always made Kat smile, just like the sea lions with their bubbly personalities. She watch a small group of them through the glass while other people passed her by, children laughing and giggling, parents enjoying their children's happiness. In a way, dolphins reminded Katirena of children. They were always happy, always wanting to play and explore the world. Even though dolphins were considered deadly predators by some, to Kat they were gentle. Thy were intelligent just like children, and their curiosity made Katirena jealous. Dolphins always had to find a challenge, and they always had to figure that challenge out, hence why the were such smarty pants. Through out the rest of her visit, Kat passed by many other exhibits, from brightly colored fish, to her least favorite...sharks. Katirena had very few fears in life, but for as long as she could remember sharks were one of them, and the ranked extremely high on her no tolerance list. To her, they looked like creatures from a horror movie, especially the ones with huge toothy grins. She made sure to avoid them at all costs, taking detour routes through the penguin habitats. The one place she wanted to go was the whale exhibit, her all time favorite marine creature(assuming there are whales at this aquarium x3). In order to do that, she had to go through the penguin area like she'd noticed earlier. Taking a few moments to smile at the adorable little birds through the glass, she left, and turned a corner headed for the whales. She came to an abrupt halt however, colliding into what felt like a wall at first. When she heard a mans voice apologizing, she looked up quickly. Normally she would have had a rude comment, but because this man had quickly apologized and asked if she was alright, she bit her tongue. When she met his eyes, she could tell he was honest and meant no harm. Katerina gave him a friendly smile and said with a laugh, "No visible injuries as far as I can tell. I should really pay more attention when turning those corners." Her tone was light and charming, though inn her head she would have much rather gave him a witty remark about how it was his fault for not paying attention. But nonetheless, Kat was in a good mood thanks to the dolphins and sea lions she'd seen earlier. TAG: Faded WORDS: 718 NOTES: NO WORRIES! Haha sorry for the late reply >.< CLOTHES: hereI'll never stop, helping to pull you through.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, background-color:#000000; width:408px; padding:8px;]Luka really could have gone out the back entrance in the medical wing of the aquarium if he had so desired and would have likely avoided this unexpected collision. He preferred the front way though, the one that took you through the rest of the aquarium. Despite the fact that he worked here three days a week there always seemed to be something new to see and when it came right down to it these animals were what you might call his babies. Since he'd started working here almost a year and a half ago he'd seen basically all of them at one point or another either for injuries, sickness or just their regular check ups. So why go out the back when he enjoyed seeing them so much even if it was on his way out?
Today was a bit busier than during the beginning or middle of the week seeing as it was a Friday and kids were out of school and adults out of work mostly. Luka preferred the slower days simply because it was easier to take his time and give a good look at the animals from the outside of the tanks and exhibits. Sometimes seeing them from the crowd's point of view gave him a better idea of any issues or problems that could be happening or whether or not they appeared happy to the visitors.
He could honestly say that he liked animals more than people when it really came down to it. Yeah, he had friends he got along with and enjoyed obviously but the human race as a whole really rather pissed him off most days. Selfish, arrogant and in it for themselves almost one hundred percent of the time he still didn't understand why heaven would create beings made specifically to protect them from harm. It certainly hadn't worked out for him thanks to the girl he'd been assigned to deciding she didn't want a guardian angel. Bitter as he still was at her for that Luka couldn't help but be a tiny bit thankful he got out when he did and was no free to do what he wanted. Immortality with no charge to chase after and hold you down? Yes, he could handle that.
The abrupt halt to his forward motion had him caught off guard for a brief second, eyeing the girl who had inadvertantly crashed into him as they both rounded the corner. A friendly smile and equally good-natured laugh was given in return at his inquiry of whether she was unscathed, letting him know she didn't think so. He shook his head slightly as she said she should pay more attention. "No, no it was totally my fault. Besides there are plenty of distractions around here so it's completely understandable," Tilting his head slightly he added after, noticing the direction she had been heading. "If you're going to see the whales they just put the new baby belgua out with the rest of them for the first time today. They haven't announced it yet though so if you hurry you might get lucky and beat the crowd," Yet another perk of working here being all the insider information that was passed along.

I'll never stop, breaking the law for you. "Don’t sell yourself short. You look like someone who’s much less of a clutts than I am.” She said as she regained her balance. She took a moment to look him over, more closely now, and realized her words couldn’t have been more true. This new stranger was actually quite attractive, and Kat instantly felt her luck rising; of all the people here, she might have bumped into the hottest guy at the aquarium. “Still, you should watch where you’re going.” Katirena teased with a raise of her brow, and a quite laugh. When he said there was a new whale at the aquarium, her face lite up without Kat even realizing it. When Kat was in the third grade she did a project on beluga whales and ever since they have held a special place in her heart. The little girl within her was jumping up and down with joy. “ Really?!” Kat tried to hide her excitement when she heard how her voice had suddenly raised an octave with shy smile as she glanced down at her feet. When she looked back up, she tried to find the signs that continued to point the way towards the whale exhibit, and gazed around. Kat hadn’t really noticed how many people were here till now, just standing there; a lot more than she’d expected. The place was filled with families, couples, children, classrooms on field trips, and just tons of normal, everyday people. Kat didn’t fall under that category anymore, which was one of the reasons why she normally steered clear of public places. Even if most people didn’t notice, Katirena didn’t fit in, she no longer could relate to humans and that saddened her. Though she won’t admit it, Kat’s inability to connect with humans ate away at her all the time. Her inability to have a normal life now was something she could only dream of now. She gave off a silent sigh, more so mentally than anything, but it was still a sigh. One of Kat’s weaknesses was her lack of self-control, not just as a werewolf but with her emotions. No matter how she was feeling, her emotions were plastered on her face for everyone to see, and Katirena had no control over it no matter how hard she tried. In this brief moment of silence, she realized she hadn’t eve introduced herself yet. She quickly put her thoughts of never belonging aside and outstretched a hand. “I’m Katirena by the way. I was too busy tackling you earlier to say that.” And a gentle chuckle masked any earlier feelings of sadness. Kat knew getting to see the baby beluga would lighten her mood instantly so there was no point in dwelling on bad subjects. As she awaited the name of her handsome stranger, she took the time to examine his features. Nice, defined jaw line. Great brown hair. Very kissable lips. Well-built from what she could see with clothes on. And he earned a definite plus for his electric blue eyes; Kat was a sucker for a nice pair of baby blues. So far he was the total package, and hopefully Katirena would get to learn more about his personality so she could officially give him the label of “perfect.” TAG: Faded WORDS: 538 NOTES: super delayed reply GAHH Kat is a plot whore xD CLOTHES: here I'll never stop, helping to pull you through.
