• Loyalty: Connor is one of the most loyal people you'll ever meet. It's difficult to get his trust and earn his loyalty on the level that his sister has (she's the person he's closest to in the whole world), but if you earn his loyalty, he'd take a bullet for you, no questions asked.
  
• Attention to detail: Connor rose to the rank of Detective very quickly, because not only is he smart, but when he puts his mind to a case, he's very good at catching onto little details that most people would overlook. Very little gets past him.

OVERALL
Connor Hoyt is very to himself and secretive, but is the perfect example of a true gentleman. Granted, very few people will see this side of him, because he has walls surrounding him and his emotions, and trusts no one. Connor's personality has been shaped by the strength and determination of the military and police force, the kindness and love of his parents, and the responsibilities of an older brother that had to take on the role of a parent too soon, and under tragic circumstances. Deep down, he's a kind, giving man who has the capacity to love deeply and unconditionally, but he has learned to be a little too serious over the years. Connor takes his responsibilities very seriously, and does his best to balance everything in his life and keep his little sister happy and safe at the same time.

Because of his past, Connor has made it his life's work to achieve one legal system that is all-encompassing with humans and supernaturals, regardless of alliance in the war. He believes that justice is the most important thing, and vigilantes should not be tolerated. Connor hates hunters with a passion, and will do his best to track them above all others, but he's not particularly fond of dark side supernaturals, either. Although he is quiet and tries to live a peaceful life, Connor is fiercely loyal, and will protect what is his with his life; and he's not someone that many would want to anger. Connor has always been very strong, very powerful, and has years of training behind him that will ensure protection for him and his loved ones. He's a man of many layers, and few will ever see the very center of who this complicated, but still gentle giant truly is.

OVERALL

On June 11th, 1983, David and Jayma Hoyt gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Connor. The Hoyt family lived in Juneau, Alaska, and had a happy and relatively normal life. David worked for the Alaska Fish and Wildlife department as a Game Warden, and Jayma owned a little coffee house inside the city. On the outside, the Hoyt family seemed just like any other family, but they harbored a secret: both David and Jayma, as well as their little boy, were shapeshifters. David's animal form was that of a Kodiak bear, and Jayma's was an Arctic fox.

Every summer, the Hoyt family took a camping trip that David passed off as being part of his work, and practiced their shifting in the woods so Connor, who had chosen a Kodiak bear in his father's likeness, could learn how to shift easily. The Hoyts worried about their son growing up in a world that hunted supernaturals regardless of their alliance, and even though neither David nor Jayma would ever harm a human, they were still in danger, so they kept their secret under lock and key.

When Connor was 18, he graduated from high school and realized that college just wasn't for him; he was more hands-on and athletic, so he studied under his father in an Alaskan wildlife reserve before deciding that he needed to pursue something else. Connor joined the Army when he was 19, and served a two-year term overseas before fulfilling his contract. While he was away, he learned of his parents "adopting" a baby girl named Lysa, who was a human. Later, when he came home, Connor would learn that his parents' new child was stolen from a family across town who were abusing and neglecting the poor baby. Both of his parents always had a soft spot for children, and hated to see the poor infant be left alone to scream and cry, sometimes going entire days without food or a passing glance from her parents. Connor's father had the paperwork filed under dubious means, but Lysa became a Hoyt, and the family moved to Anchorage with their new bundle of joy.

After he returned home for good, Connor decided that he wanted to attend the Police Academy in Anchorage, but tragedy struck. One day, when he was out playing in the park with his three year old sister, his parents were brutally murdered by a hunter, and the local police passed the crime off as a home invasion gone bad. Connor knew otherwise, and his instincts told him that they were hunted for what they were, and he was lucky to have not been home. Connor took Lysa and went deep undercover, living under the radar for as long as he could until he discovered that the hunter that had followed his parents had done so from Juneau, and deduced that it was more than likely it was because they had taken a human baby. Enraged and determined to see this crime brought to justice, Connor tracked the hunter to Manuka, where he had heard tell of a war being on the horizon: a war between supernaturals who wished to live under the radar, and not harm humans and those who would hunt and enslave humans freely, and believed they were "superior" beings.

Connor only believed in one law, and didn't see any reason for vigilante justice. So, he started the Police Academy in Manuka, and graduated at the top of his class. The hunter's trail had gone cold, and Connor knew that for now, he and Lysa were both safe. Connor quickly rose to the rank of Detective within the Manuka police department, and continues his search for the hunter that killed his family, and keeps his identity and lineage a secret from the world.
