He stripped off his shirt and let it hit the floor softly. He slipped his thumbs into his boxers and stepped out of them, leaving them on the old gym floor. He dove into the pool water that was well kept and felt his body shift into half-fish. He swam to the other side of the pool before coming up for water and pushing his hair back out of his face. Gus hadn’t gone swimming since last week and he could feel it. He hadn’t had any time since his aunt had him go to the ocean and pick up a few humans for her. Because Gus knew she didn’t much care for him as it was and he didn’t want her to completely disapprove of him, he did as he was told. He brought her two girls and a boy who was only about 15. While Gus felt bad about the whole thing he knew he had to do these things or else he’d get his balls busted for it.
Gus pushed himself off of the wall with his hands and started doing laps around the pool. Swimming had always cleared his mind. He was a water baby at heart. He thought that even if he wasn’t a merman he’d still want to be in the water a lot. Gus had always enjoyed swimming in the ocean more than anything though because he could see other life forms than just other merpeople. He loved dolphins a lot because they were so smart and could do tricks, but also because they’d pull him through the water. Sharks were a little scary, but he could swim faster than they could so it was easy for him to get away.
The sound of glass breaking caught Gus’ attention and he looked at the entrance to the pool area of the old gym. He got out of the water and dried himself off quickly so that he would change back into a human. Just as his legs formed he shoved on his pants. Then a girl walked in. He didn’t recognize her, but she was a good-looking little thing. He smiled and made sure not to touch any water that had pooled around on the ground.
