Checking the time her voice would call though the office," I am leaving now , please try not to destroy all the work we have done done today," Her voice would mumble idiots at the end of that sentence. Flicking over her paperwork all she could do was sigh and rub her head. Things had been going well at the office but it still wasn't enough. It never seemed to be enough , not for herself or her mother. So the next thing to do would be expanding her company , and there was only one person she would trust to help with that. Drey her oldest and dearest friend. Well if she was going to be serious probably her only friend, she wasn't one affection or showing it. Drey understood that about her though and never tired to force to be someone or something she wasn't . Just like Aquana respected and understood Drey. They had a good friendship that she was very thankful for. Grabbing her last items she would slip from her office her heels stepping down the stairs from her building. Placing on her shades her eyes would go to Julie her secretary. " I pray for your own sake you won't need to , but call me if something is miss ." Her company was her pride and joy , god forbid anyone who tried to fuck with it , or cause any harm to it. Getting into her car she would smirk thinking of what Jamie would say for her actually driving for once. It wasn't that Aquana didn't like driving , more so why should she have to drive all the time when she can pay people to do it for her. That made sense in her own mind but apparently not for many others. Tapping her fingers to the music , thoughts would go to how her life had been recently. Their mother was breathing down her neck more then usual about power heirs expectations. If only the rest of her family knew what she went though and did for them. This was her duty and role as heir to the thrown though, so Aquana would see it done. Drey was always good at offering advice when Aquana didn't want to hear it. Which seemed like tonight was going to be one of those nights where Aquana wouldn't want to hear what she needed to but would listen to it anyway knowing it was the right thing. After a few minutes of driving her car would pull up to Drey's apartment, it was a beautiful place. Pocketing the shades in her clutch, stepping out of her car. Eyes taking in everything as her heels hit the gravel rock on the pathway up to the door. Normally Aquana would think about letting herself in , but since this was an unannounced visit she figured it would be wiser and for her benefit if she knocked on the door. Knuckles wrapping on the door softly. " Drey it's Aquana do you have a few moment's to spare I know we are both busy women, but I am wondering if I could borrow your time please." On very rare occasions would she ever ask for anything as nicely as she was doing now. Drey was a friend though who she respected highly so her manners and kindness that she felt needed to be kept hidden would shine though for the lovely demon. Outfit

Befriending Aquana had been an accident, truth be told. The woman was… frustrating, to say the least. She was strong and fierce, opinionated as hell, and demanded to get her own way. It was only someone like Drey who realized that she was actually frustrated and stressed, and needed someone to care for her the way she always cared for others. Oh, nobody would realize that was what she did, because she was a fucking bitch all the time, but she did. She loved the people she was in charge of, in her own insane, domineering way. So Drey worked past that shell, and they had been friends ever since, because the demon took none of her shit. And she gave as good as she got, pulling the mermaid back down to a normal level because Aquana knew, instinctively, that she was not to be messed with. Drey had not yet told her of her rather intimate connection with the mafia, because that was not something the blonde needed to know. She did, however, know of the demon’s connection to the underground world by her alias, and the power she wielded that way. They’d been friends for years, and that part of her was not something she hid. So why not let her friend in on it? They would, though it was an unspoken truth, do practically anything for each other. Which was why, though she was surprised to hear the knock at the door, Deidre immediately got up from her chair to let the CEO inside. She ushered her companion in, closing the door behind her before delivering a hug that she knew Aquana would not necessarily be pleased about, but that she would take anyways. ’Hello Aquana. For you, I can retrieve many moments to spare. But first, how are you? Hungry?’ It was usually her first question to people she cared about. She enjoyed feeding people. And sometimes she thought the young mermaid was far too skinny anyway. Her bare feet padded into the kitchen, naturally assuming that the woman would follow her. The demon started pulling out ingredients for paninis, humming softly to herself, patting the counter so that Aquana would settle herself at the breakfast bar. Her boys weren’t home, off doing their own thing like they normally did, and Drey appreciated the company, though she’d been working on a project before her blonde friend had gotten there. But that wasn’t really a big deal. She could do her work practically whenever she felt like it. She worked on her own schedule, and that was a beautiful thing. ’So, what would you like to discuss this evening, meelaya? Something personal or professional?’ she asked, because she was more than willing to talk about either or both with the pretty woman. And she had to wonder, just for a moment, why the mermaid was in such a pleasant mood, even with the demon. Because she usually had just a little bite, always, including Deidre. But she let that roll off her, or gave it back until Aquana realized, once more, whom she was speaking to. It never took her very long. But for her to start off so kindly, she must have wanted to talk about something important. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- clicketh for clothes!

Stepping inside a small smile given to those she only considers friend would grace the ice queen features. Drey was a very dear friend to Aquana so she was graced with kindness and friendship that not many were actually ever able to see on the oldest Adrastos face. Although how they grew to become friends was a question in itself it was something that Aquana did know she truly wanted until it happened. Someone who called her out, was able to push back against her bitchness and not be afraid of her, it was something that sometimes she truly needed. While Jamie did a good of doing it herself, she was family and while family was great it was nice to have an outside source to talk to rant to just be herself with and Drey was that person. They were both strong and powerful woman, so when they finally discovered their friendship it was something that Aquana was very, happy with. Not that she would ever outwardly show it. But Drey would know that by now being around her enough, although she did seem to relax more when she was with the fiery demon.
Feeling the hug she tensed for a few moments before returning it, hugs weren't something that she was overly use to. But for her she could make a few exceptions and pulled away a few moments later. Offering her a small smile and a shake of her head, Drey always keeping her on her toes. The thought of food caused her stomach to growl ever so slightly, wanting this done and dealing with other things. She hadn't really thought about food, so when the question was asked she would nod her head. " Food sounds prefect actually, I haven't had a chance to eat yet and you always do come up with the most delicious things. " It was never huge things but it did always make Aquana happy when they ate things with her friend, it was still all new to her but she was working on being more approachable with her. Following her into the kitchen she would glance back around the apartment, it was a a beautiful place, eventually Aquana was going to look for something of her own, She had the money but at the moment she was learning all she could about running the family, so she was staying at their mansion for the time being.
Finding a seat she would sit and cross her legs at the ankles, watching as Panin's were being made. The questioned was posed and it too a few minutes for Aquana to think about it. It was a mix of both she had to be honest with herself so she would glance to her friend. " A bit of both, I want your help in expanding my company online, but also to make sure no one can get ahold of it either, Like bank statements ownership, everything that could possible be found online I want that sealed away if at all possible. I want it to grow but also have it all only be mine. Can you help me with that my friend." While she had all the faith in her friend, she was just wondering if she had time to do this, while she wasn't highly tech savvy she did know a few things. Not nearly as much as her dear friend though so she would leave all of that in her capable hands.

Drey was just a touch obsessive about keeping the apartment she shared with her cousin neat and tidy. She liked things to have their places, and return to those places after they were done being used. She was not crazy about it or anything, but a well-maintained order was something she appreciated. It leant a certain efficiency to the day-to-day activities she completed in their home. Soon, she thought, this would no longer be their home. Neither one of them could stay there very comfortably after Dimitri had died, and they had been contemplating a move before that horrendous event anyways. She would find something else better, and she would do a more forceful job of it this time. The boys had insisted that they find a place where they could pay at least half of the rent, rather than letting themselves lean on Deidre. Now, sweet as that thought was… well, she should have just done what she thought was best for them, regardless. As it was, she had made significant improvements, which was part of the reason she was not completely embarrassed- not that she really would have been, in any case, truth be told- to have her semi-snooty, more-than-slightly stuck-up friend enter the premises.
Offering her food after she got there was just second nature. It was like a routine… like an Italian mama? We have all seen those movies or sitcoms, with the played-up stereotype. For Drey, it was a real thing. A guest entered her home, she wanted to know if they were hungry. And she would imagine that Aquana was hungry quite often, given how slim she was. But that may have just been her rather amplified mermaid metabolism, chewing through calories at a hundred miles a minute- yes, she knew that that was not an accurate measure of how calories were burned. The demon was rather glad when her blonde companion accepted the offer, instead of putting on that ‘polite rejection’ face she occasionally donned. At least for Deidre, she would wear a polite face… most were not so lucky. Aquana even threw in a compliment, to boot. So the demon tapped gently on the bar counter, wordlessly inviting her friend to pull up a seat while she cooked.
She liked cooking, it gave her something else to do with her hands that was a bridge to other subjects, and made her feel like she was contributing, as well. Food- better than alcohol, in her personal opinion- helped conversation flow easier, with an enviable smoothness. After the first panini got pressed into the grill, Drey had to ask what had brought her young friend back into her company. A blend of things, as it turned out. ’Darling, you know I am more than capable of such things… but might I inquire as to what has made you so interested in maintaining your controlling stake of the company with such… suddenness? I have not heard you be quite this possessive of it before.’ Drey quickly retrieved a spatula and a plate, waiting for the pressed sandwich to finish its griddling. In the meantime, she pulled some vodka out of the freezer and blended up a couple drinks, passing one to her companion. In that time, the first sandwich was ready, and the demon had another question. ’As for the online expansion, what were you thinking? A subscription service, such as a place to order the actual magazine? Or would you like the whole publication available online, for a price?’ Deft hands slipped the grilled delicacy in front of the mermaid, while she got to work prepping another, popping a nibble of cheese in her mouth, and waiting for the answers.
