Despite the fact that her job was heavily based upon the nightlife of a given city, Carmen never wanted to be away from the 'hustle and bustle' of the world. She supposed the old adage about loving your job equating to never actually working was true. Her job allowed for a great many things that most people just would never accomplish in a typical nine-to-five arrangement. She saw women, heard great music, got to drink for free – really, there was no downside to her job. Her mind, which was a terribly active thing, was always occupied by something, and her field allowed her to utilize her natural charm and physical appeal to near dangerous levels. What wasn't to like? Yet, on a day when she wasn't scheduled to be working an appointment, she found herself in a casino. Carmen would have laughed at herself, but she was still feeling a little worn around the edges due to a very long night of drinking, loud music, and fantastic sex. Nothing more excitement wouldn't cure, right?
The hybrid was surrounding by the clinging sounds of slot machines being played both to the joy and complete failures of the casino's patrons, and she laughed. She had many vices, but gambling was not one of them. Occasionally, she had been known to try her hand at a card game now and then when she was feeling particularly... lucky. But today, she was happy to just walk past the tables and watch people lose their money. She noticed a few smiles from several different women as she walked past, giving each of them a smoldering gaze in her own right, but not making contact. No, if she was going to find another woman so soon after the last – really, it had only been a few hours – she was going to make sure the woman was a spectacular find. Already, Manuka was proving to surprise her with an abundance of lovely women who were in need of some special... attention. Attention which she was more than happy to give, of course – Carmen knew that in some situations, she was the very definition of selfless generosity, and while it had not always been so, she was in a place in her life where, when she was with a woman, she was far more interested in her lover's pleasure than her own. At least, most of the time – every woman had a right to be selfish now and again, and on occasion, she even found someone spirited enough to match her.
After flagging down one of the cocktail waitresses and ordering a mimosa, she decided that she'd head toward the brunch buffet, grab a little something to eat. Even though she'd had an incredibly late start to her day, sleeping in with a gorgeous woman in her bed was well worth it, and she liked to spoil herself. She had almost made it to the buffet area, mimosa in hand, when a sight of a tall, gorgeous female figure heading from the business office stopped her right in her tracks. Spectacular find, indeed, as it was someone she knew. Someone she knew very well. Bold and completely heedless, she approached the woman gracefully, a brilliant smile on her face. ”Lillith Powell,” she purred, caressing the letters in the woman's name in her sultry accent. That was certainly enough to get her attention, given their history. Then, once she had it, Carmen wrapped one hand around the woman's lovely neck and gave her a slow, gentle kiss. They had been lovers for over a century and hadn't seen each other in at least three other centuries: it was a proper greeting, in her opinion. The other hybrid wouldn't be shocked, but Carmen got a small twinge of pleasure from knowing that she certainly wasn't used to women just... putting themselves in her space. Not without permission.
”Mi amor, how long has it been? Three hundred and fifty years or so?” Carmen took a sip of her cocktail, trying to dull the immediate lust in her veins that came from just looking at her old lover. They couldn't go down that path again, as she knew she was no longer what Lillith needed to... suit her whims. ”I know you're probably busy, but I was just headed to the buffet for a little bit of brunch. Just woke up, mi noche era muy larga, and I'd be delighted if you joined me.” She couldn't just... tell this woman what to do, but she hoped the offer was enticing. She'd missed Lillith, and she hoped the other hybrid had maybe missed her company just a little as well.

Clothing was like a uniform, it was a display of power or purpose before one ever spoke a word. And in business meetings, one’s clothing was like a language all its own. That is why Lillith never looked underdressed for any occasion. Let alone a conference at the casino. They were seriously considering- and would yield to that wise decision, after today- putting her at the top of their retainer list. That meant, if and when they got into legal trouble, she would be the first one they called. Before, she had merely been a consultant, but the hybrid had been working them in her favor for a few days now, just for the extra project and whimsical desire for greater income, and now they were in ‘negotiations.’ Which was really just a fanciful term for giving the lawyer whatever she wanted so that she wouldn’t leave them. Inevitably, that was just what happened. Looking back on her clothing selection for the day, she decided that it was, as per usual, flawless. A display of presence and beauty and finesse, before she even opened her mouth. As somebody else was doing now. Oh, she knew who it was. Had known the fiery Latina was there before she even left the room, as acute as her senses were after so many years of existence. Also because she knew that woman’s scent very intimately. The hybrid had every intention of paying her her due attentions, after she finished her parting words with her new clients. But no, the younger woman- brassy as always- called out her name with a saucy flair that would’ve caused anyone else to sigh in exasperation or whimper with desire. As it stood, Lillith went her own way, leaving the businessmen to their own plans for the day, and turned to face the curvy brunette a few paces away from her. The years had certainly been kind to Carmen, not lessening the woman’s blatant sexual appeal. Or apparently, her blatant, bold nature in general. Had the younger brunette been anyone else, Lillith would likely have opened her neck right there. Only the priestess’s affection for her kept her in one piece. As it stood, she merely leveled smoldering purple eyes on the shorter woman, arching slim eyebrows in mild curiosity. ’Explain to me, lovely flower, why you feel the need to boldly go where you know you no longer have the right to be?’ It was not really a request so much as an authoritative order, and Carmen would well remember the fact that consequences awaited her should she lack compliance. ’As for your question, I am quite certain you are aware of how much time has passed since we last saw each other. Feigning ignorance does not suit you, sweet. You should well know I always had an appreciation for your wit and intellect.’ The vampiric hybrid calmly adjusted her grip on her briefcase, and listened to her new companion’s proposition, smiling softly. At the moment, she did have some spare time. But, to give in to Carmen so easily just wasn’t her way. ’Mi rosita, I am not feeling particularly generous after such a brazen display. But you have a few moments to convince me that I would enjoy my time in your company, should I deign to give it.’ Lillith had always thought of Carmen as a ‘little rose,’ beautiful, lush, compact, with a sharp edge should anyone have the audacity to attempt to harm her. And the fact that she often smelled like roses only made the image more concrete. Her former lover was a talented, lovely thing, and creative, so Lillith knew that she would likely come up with some perfectly adequate reasons for the lawyer to remain in her company, besides an old fondness and affection. She had not minded the kiss, per se, but such was not the older woman’s preference, by any means, and Carmen knew that very well. To clearly disregard it was mildly disrespectful, no matter how happy the two were to see each other again after such a long absence.

Seeing Lillith again was definitely a pleasant surprise, and even though Carmen knew that she should have probably been on her best behavior in the other woman's presence – Lillith demanded nothing short of everything she wanted – she couldn't help herself. The hybrid just had to be a little bold, and approached her former lover with a sway in her step, confidence in her voice, and lust in her eyes because even though it had been a long time since they had seen one another, she hadn't forgotten some, if not all, of the things that Lillith kept hidden beneath her professional clothing. Of course, Lillith was a stand-out even in her clothing, but Carmen knew her in a different way, and remembered nearly everything that had transpired between them, and especially between their bodies, during the century they spent together. Perhaps that was what fueled the greeting she gave the much older woman, because even though she knew that she was no longer the right 'type' of woman for the hybrid, she also didn't want to miss an opportunity for some sort of sizzling, physical contact.
The woman's violet eyes sizzled after they parted, and Carmen knew that she was likely slightly irritated, but preserved Carmen's existence only because of the feelings and care that had once kept such a strong bond between them. Whether Lillith liked or cared to admit such a thing, Carmen was special to her, and Lillith would always be special to Carmen. The older woman had helped her when she had nobody, saw potential in her when she felt lost and completely without a purpose in the world. It had been when she was confused about her powers, about what it all meant, what it meant to live forever, and followed the death of her mother very closely, before Carmen had properly had time to heal. Lillith had healed her, and not only that, but made her stronger, and that was why Carmen would always feel a connection to her, even though they would be more suited as friends than lovers now. The Latina had changed significantly, and she was willing to guess that Lillith hadn't budged in her preferences and other facets of her personality, but she didn't need to do such a thing, either. Lillith was a rock, an anchor, and she was flawless just as she was. It was admirable, to say the very least. ”I know that is not a request, but I would hope that mi amante is not angry with me. I could not resist, you know my wills are not as iron as yours, and eres tan bella, so I was compulsive.” Carmen's eyes traced over Lillith's form, slightly taller than her own, but exquisite in ways she still dreamt about, despite all the lovers she'd had during their time apart.
Speaking of time apart, Lillith commented on the fact that she knew the exact time it had been since they had parted ways, and Carmen laughed softly. Of course she knew. Time was something that, even though they had plenty of it, she didn't lose track of because of laziness, especially when it came to important dates and milestones in her existence, which the other hybrid certainly was. ”Dosientos noventa y tres años, amor. Exactamente.” The fact that Lillith expressed that she appreciated anything about Carmen at all could be considered a compliment, and the Latina smiled brightly, then went ahead with an offer for her ex-lover to join her for brunch, since she was already on the way to the buffet and didn't want to pass up an opportunity to catch up with the magnificent woman before her if she could help it. Of course, she also knew Lillith well enough to guess that the older woman would drag her feet, especially after Carmen had misbehaved. And she confirmed this shortly after the thought raced through Carmen's mind, which caused a little smirk to form on her full lips.
”I see you have not forgotten my favorite endearment you had given me all those years ago, thought I suspect nothing really escapes that sharp mind, hmm?” Carmen took another sip of her mimosa and looked into those lovely violet eyes, then tilted her head to the side, analyzing for a moment because she knew that she'd have to come up with something spactacular to get this woman's attention now that she had stolen some for herself. ”I know that apologies will do me no good, nor will me telling you I've missed you, even though es la verdad. Entonces, I guess I'll just have to ask for your company because I have an interest in Manuka, and since you're here as well, I'd like to pick your brain for locations that might be good for my business, your business, and then see how the conversation goes from there. Even though I'm more interested in what you have been up to, Lillith.” Would it be enough? Oh, Carmen had no idea, and she was half expecting to be snubbed and shot down, but it was worth an attempt nonetheless.
