overall, zachary is a bit power-hungry and obsessed with having complete control over everything and whatever he has his eyes on. over the past several hundred years, he's grown severely attached to several things that weren't his (like people's wives, for example) and killed those related in order to make them his. zach is afflicted with bipolar disorder, which causes his mood to swing back and forth between being somewhat friendly and murderously violent.

when he's in his more righteous, kind state, he tends to treat everyone fairly in whatever plan him and his group came up with. no matter how he's acting, zach always has a need to be in control, though, so the members of his little group know to keep under him at all times. but when he has his bouts of rage, bad shit tends to happen. people die, people get hurt, people have even gotten sexually assaulted if the conditions were right. but what was he do to? while he was aware of the fact that he had such an illness, zach didn't have anyone close enough to him to give a shit about whether or not he hurt someone so he just never bothered with taking medication.

zach was born a very long time ago in a small city in england to parents jonathan and louise marwick. his mother had wanted a daughter to name after herself, but when she had a son instead, she gave him the middle name louis instead of the female form. zachary was his given name after one of his close family relatives. a few years after zach was born, his parents tried again for a baby but the couple was thrown into disarray when louise gave birth to a stillborn. in the mess that followed, jonathan ended up killing his wife when they got into a fight over the outcome. distraught, he took zachary and fled the town before anyone could notice, and moved the two of them into the neighboring city.

this is where zachary would spend the next hundred or so years, learning from watching his crazed father that women should be dealt with as your own property, regardless as to whether or not they already belonged to someone else. that was a mindset that zach would eventually share with his father -- everything you wanted should just end up yours, so fight for it. and that was exactly what zach did. even a while later, when he raided the city of york and became the constable, zach gained many followers and received everything he set his eyes on. at the time, there was a woman he'd come to notice, a beauty like none other in that quaint little town, and he wanted her to be his. when it became clear to him that the women's husband had no intention of giving her up, he came up with a bunch of little schemes in order to force them into submission. his men were sent out to set fire to their vineyard at one point, and zach made it his responsibility to jack up the taxes on their little tavern.

but apparently that wasn't enough, and zachary was growing tired of waiting for his ideal woman. so after he'd received a threat of sorts from the father of the nathanson family, zach made plans for his dreams to come true the hard way. so later that night, he'd taken two of his best men with him and all but raided their bar, destroying the nathanson family in a matter of minutes. after all was said and done, zach scoffed on his previous idea that caroline was the woman for him -- her husband had already dirtied her too much with his love anyway. but after doing the headcount, zach realized that he'd let one of the children escape his watchful eye -- and he never saw her again.

but zach lived like this for the next couple hundred years, coming in and out of contact with his father every other century or so. there were various women during the years that he set his eyes on, and successfully came into the possession of, but they never lasted long. he'd either get tired of owning them and had them killed, or they'd get too old for him and he'd have them disposed of. but this was how he spent the next huge chunk of his life, skipping around various towns in england before making his way into france and eventually germany. at some point during the last hundred years, he made the decision to pack his things up in order to head for the united states.

maine was his next place of residency. here, his eyes were quick to spot the very young shae noble. the young girl was only twelve at the time, but he could easily tell that she was a demon after observing her home life. zachary knew that demons didn't age past a certain point, so this girl would be young-looking for the rest of her immortal life. and so, he devised his plan. after delving into his own group of (practically) servants, he was quick to tell the pair of hunters in his group that the noble family parents were demons and that they needed to be destroyed. they, of course, obliged, and had the two of them killed in a matter of hours with the demon-slaying blades they both were in possession of. news reached young shae's ears while she was at school, and the young girl made an attempt to run away from home.

but that didn't matter, because zach was already watching her. he had his cronies go and snatch her up easily and brought her back to their warehouse where he'd keep shae locked up until he determined that she'd reached her point of agelessness. she was a beautiful girl, shae was. in the time he spent waiting for her to age into the body of a woman, his frequent mood swings would often have him going between giving her everything she wanted, and touching her in places that he wasn't supposed to be at her tender age of sixteen. there were several times where he'd violate her when she didn't want it, and whenever he was rejected during the process, shae would end up with a few scars from his lashing out. this lasted for a couple of years until one day, the demon girl managed to escape.

when zachary returned to the warehouse that day to find out that shae, his most prized possession, was no longer there, his temper flared up and he furiously slaughtered and drained the blood of every one of his so-called 'friends' that followed his every rule. no one was left standing except for zach, who was covered in massive amounts of blood. but he wouldn't give up. he'd continue searching for shae. after all, she belonged to him, didn't she? he wouldn't let her go on alone without him for much longer. no, zach would be sure to come to her aid..
