OVERALL
Malia is a fun person to be around, all in all. She makes jokes—although most of them are quite lame—and she laughs and smiles easily. This is made easier by being one of the middle children of a large family—they’re all slightly nuts at her house, from her mother who insists on working in the largest, most flammable library on the planet, to her father, who insists on working on a boat. She has a bunch of sisters—but no brothers. In fact, her only male family member is her father, who was his mother’s only son. (She doesn’t know who her paternal grandfather is.) Malia’s house is a riotous place, but always spick and span. Well, except for the scorch marks covering everything.
Malia’s terrified of small spaces. She didn’t have any terrible experiences as a child, it just seems to be an inborn thing. The rain and the cold make her miserable, but she loves the sun. She knows she appears to be the rowdily cheerful one to everyone, and feels like she must look like that all the time because if she’s too dependent everyone will think she’s being a whiny little wimp. Malia tends not to think before she does things—insult her or her friends, or hurt one of them, and you will be very, very sorry, especially considering her temper gets away from her just as fast as a wildfire can burn through a stand of bushes. She acts the same with humans as she does with her family and other supernatural folk, feeling that they’re all equal. She hasn’t taken sides though, because the Woodman family remains neutral.

OVERALL
Malia was born into the huge, rambling Woodman casa, with her older siblings waiting in the next room. She grew up with them—and then, later, with Abigail and Alexandra and Veronica and Rebecca, who are alternately the sweetest things going and pains in the asses. When she was eleven, there was the infamous Frying Pan Incident, which is Not Spoken Of by mutual agreement. (But, since you ask, involved a great deal of fire, the frying pan, spaghetti, paprika, and one small rodent.)
Malia made a lot of friends in school—and some of her friends were very unpopular. Of course, after the first rash of sudden third-degree burns suffered by the bullies, it soon stopped. (Not that her parents were happy about this. She got grounded for a week. But it was worth it.) When she was in eighth grade, Veronica had the infamous Werewolf Incident, which is Also Not Spoken of, and they almost had to move. Luckily, Margaret and Callista did some quick bribery and called in some favors from a witch family they knew, and they got to stay where they were.
When Malia was fourteen, she had her first boyfriend, but it didn’t exactly work out and they broke up after about a week. (This may have been hastened by the fact he was a rampant homophobe, which fact was also responsible for the fact his term paper spontaneously combusted the class period right before he had to hand it in.) When Malia was fifteen, a girl in her class asked her out, and that actually went well for about five months until they had a bit of a nasty fight. They made up, but stayed just friends. Things are tense right now, and even the neutral Woodman family is starting to feel the strain. They’re going to have to take a side, and soon.

RP SAMPLEGods, thought November Mason, daughter of Nyx, stretching. I feel like I’m walking through molasses. The young demititan—well, technically demi-protogenoi, but that didn’t exactly roll off the tongue—shouldn’t even have been up at this late hour, anyway.
Well, early hour, for all those diurnal folks out there. But November definitely functioned much better at night. She was faster and stronger, and her mind was far sharper. Whereas right now she felt liked she was wading in thick, cloying mud. Or molasses. She preferred to think of it as molasses, because mud was just disgusting. November was fully aware she could have been much more powerful, but her mother had prevented that from happening. She’d asked once, and had been told it could have burned her out from the inside had Nyx done nothing. The mix of protogenoi and human hadn’t been stable before the elder goddess’s interference.
She had no classes right now, and was going to catch hell from her big brother Thanatos for not observing her curfew later, but November—unusually—had insomnia. She’d been having some…funny dreams lately. She’d ask Nyx when next she saw her. Of course, given that Nyx was off doing something or other and probably wasn’t even in the same universe at the moment, that was likely to take a bit.
November wandered around the academy, bored, trying to make herself tired enough to go back to bed. But though the walking-through-some-thick-substance-that-was-hopefully-not-mud feeling persisted, she didn’t feel any urge to sleep.
Hypnos, big brother, you are being so unhelpful right now, she thought. Of course, Hypnos probably had some reason for not sending her to sleep. And she’d just love to hear it.
November heard music coming from the Apollo cabin. Huh. Maybe a lullaby would work or something.
She quickened her pace and headed towards the Apollo cabin. November pushed open the door.
“H’lo?”
