Misaki was born during the month of June, a promising month for mermaid children. Her birthstone being the pearl, the jewel of the sea. She didn't disappoint, when her voice was proven, exceptionally beautiful. She was neglected by her father and her mother was busy most of the time. When she was 12 she was promised to marry the son of a rich family, whom she doesn't love. This was a huge shock to the young mermaid.

She became rebellious, as her vibrant personality, shone through. Her parents had trouble controlling her, and getting her to obey orders. She was forced to spend time with Xavier. No matter how much she tried to persuade her parents, they never budged, and continued with their plans to marry the two. Her world changed when she heard of the mermaids going up to land, to escape the turmoil under the sea. For the mermaids have been divided between the side of good, and darkness. The hurry to marry Misa to Xavier became more hurried, because if a unity happens between both families, that means each family would be more powered, as one.

When she was 15, she ran or well, swam away from home. She came up to land that day. She's been living on her own ever since, as she strives as an upcoming actress and singer. Now it's nearing her 18th birthday, the day she was supposed to marry Xavier, the only way to convince her parents not to marry her to Xavier, is to find someone else.

Misaki walked away from the recording studio, another tiring day for the 17 year old. She walked, not giving a care to the faces she passed. None of them sparked her interest. Time was running out. Her 18th birthday was closer than it seemed. If she didn’t find that someone soon…..everything would be ruined. The past three years of freedom had been amazing…her career was just taking off. She started heading back to her apartment, the heels of her boots softly clicking against the side walk. Suddenly she heard a loud boom. She turned her gaze towards the sky to see the incoming dark clouds.

“damn it…” were the only words coming from her lips. If one drop of water hit her skin….it would all be over. She turned to see a coffee shop nearby, the perfect place for waiting out the rain. She darted inside, almost shoving the people in her way, giving a hasty apology. If any of them gave her any trouble, she could probably knock them onto their butt, before the next thunder clap.
The door opened with the quiet ring of a small bell. The 17 year old scanned the room, over. There were a couple people sipping coffee, using their laptops, or reading a book, all off in their little corners. They looked up upon the dark haired girl’s entering, but soon went off to their own business. Making her way to the cashier, she glanced at the menu.

“A grande vanilla latte.” She said before the girl could get out a single word. The barista nodded and went off to fetch her order. Misaki went over to an unoccupied table, and sat down. She sighed, as she stared out at the window, watching the falling rain.

"if only it could wash away all scars..." She said, sighing softly,as she thought about the on going war.
