This impromptu meeting had left Reminy feeling like she was walking on a tightrope. Yet, instead of being terrifying, it was exhilarating, and she had never remembered feeling so alive. Of course, she wasn't really alive – that was hyperbole at best, but there was a magnetism and intelligence to Lillith that continued to challenge her mind and thoughts, even if they were engaging in rather simple conversation. At least, conversation that would be considered 'simple' for intelligent, educated women who had known a good number of years, though the hybrid had many, many years on the young vampire. When Reminy had posed the idea that Lillith's preferences and tendency to be selective was more advanced than her own, the violet-eyed woman posed an interesting question that did give the young vampire reason to ponder for a moment – she wanted to think of something thought-provoking, but she settled on smart, but still slightly flirtatious, wondering how her companion would react. ”In order to know your preferences and see proof of your advanced... palette, if you will, for the more refined members of a population, I would have to spend more time in your company. Watch you work, see how, what, and whom you choose.” Reminy batted her eyelashes for a moment, not meaning for it to be a flirtatious gesture, since her words were enough – it was a reaction to the words coming out of her own mouth, because she was surprising even herself. ”Something I wouldn't mind, just so you're aware. I think I quite enjoy time in the company of someone as exceptional as yourself.”
Lillith seemed insistent that she was accustomed to luxuries, and wasn't used to being told 'no.' Reminy thought for a moment about her childhood, how her parents had spoiled all of their children to the best of their ability, but not enough to make them entitled or ungrateful. She had come from a wealthy family, lived on a lavish plantation in a home that had been passed down through the generations. When her sister had been kidnapped, everything changed. Her mother changed, her father changed, and eventually her brother grew ill and died. Then, she had nothing but memories of what used to be, and wouldn't know luxury again until she was with Noelle. ”Through my life, I will say that I have been very fortunate, but it did not come without sacrifice or hardship. Being told 'no,' however... it depends on who I'm asking, and for what.” Reminy gave Lillith a charming smile to diffuse the situation and the painful memories that were starting to surface in her head. The young vampire didn't want to ruin what was likely to be a fantastic evening with a gorgeous woman that she couldn't take her eyes off of. Especially when Lillith spoke of desire, and such a thing being an inspiration to her. The younger woman knew that the hybrid was likely capable of much in the way of desire, and allowed it to become a boundless thing, and the way her voice caressed the word itself was... Reminy betrayed herself by allowing her blue eyes to widen and a small gasp to escape her. She just couldn't help herself, and swallowed hard, knowing that she had been caught in her little outburst.
As dinner continued and the two of them got into their meals – hers was absolutely perfect, which only added fodder to support her companion's exquisite tastes – they started to discuss business. Reminy didn't mind going into details about her business, or learning more about Lillith's own because even though it steered them away from their flirtatious banter, it gave her an opening to gain greater insight to who the hybrid was. Her interests, her accomplishments, things that she wouldn't necessarily know unless Lillith told her or she did a bunch of research. Still, while she knew she could garner some things from various sources, she would rather learn about Lillith from the woman directly – there was a power that came from the hybrid opening up to her, even in a way that wasn't putting much on the line, but still including her in private thoughts and current endeavors. ”I did always prefer a more subtle touch to something outlandish and 'in your face,' so to speak. Thank you for noticing,” the vampire said, knowing that her eyes had likely darkened, and her expression led toward demure, flattered, because the violet-eyed woman certainly knew how to make people feel good about themselves. Likewise, Reminy would wager that she could tear down just as easily as she could build up, though perhaps in a more devastating, definitive, brutal way. Which was why she commented on the hybrid seeming to be interested in repairing things.
”I have known a few uphill battles of things - or people – who weren't worth saving. Careful judgment; a blessing that keeps us from getting ourselves in too deep. Of course, I only speak for myself. I'm sure your selective palette comes into play more often than not so you don't find yourself in a situation that would be too taxing.” Reminy teased a little, in a gentle, respective, but playful way that referenced the 'proof' she was questioning earlier. She only hoped that Lillith would appreciate her, because while the younger vampire might not have known everything about herself, and still had a lot to learn, she was still confident in who she had become more than how she had started. Reminy's journey might not have been terribly long, but she had still traveled a long way.
Reminy gulped when Lillith took her compliment on her hands and, essentially, ran with it, going into details that made the Southern woman take a hard gulp of her wine, not savoring it like she had been doing. Her voice was a little breathy when she responded, and her brain ticked over the proper response, hoping that she'd find it before she embarrassed herself. ”I always did possess a fondness for beauty that was also wrapped up in a strong, dangerous package. Not so much to be reckless, but... someone with those qualities, like the big cats or venus flytrap of which you spoke... no other type of person could get under my skin quite so seamlessly.” Oh, she was definitely walking a tightrope, but wondered if she was starting to lose her balance. If she was fooling herself this entire time. Lillith agreed to dessert, and Reminy settled on a lighter zabaglione with fruit, and took a bite when the waiter brought them to the table, but only after Lillith went into her own confection.
”I would love to find a proper way to thank you for this evening, but I fear I'd come up short. This has been... flawless, and you are... you are an incredible woman, Lillith.” It wasn't a blatant offer for more than dinner, but could be easily made into one, should the hybrid be so inclined to desire her in that way. They'd finish the dessert, but Reminy had, without any doubt, left the rest of the evening up to her companion, which was something the older woman definitely seemed to prefer.
