OVERALL
Hallie Monica Way … mother of three, wife of one, and sleeping with another. Doesn’t add up, right? How is that someone so happily married ends up sleeping with another man and having a child with him? Of course, it has everything to do with personality. Hallie is a mother, making her loving and always with open arms. She has a strong initiative and intuition; she gets that from being a part of the Kennedy family. She thrives in her independence, yet craves for love and affection … almost depends on it. Contradicting? Perhaps. However, Hallie’s husband, Gavin, is almost as affectionate and sensitive as a husband can get. So why cheat? Perhaps it’s because of the fact that he’s not around all the time, or perhaps that he is too sensitive or too caring. Perhaps she just got bored. Hallie loves her husband, without a doubt, but the recklessness of the youthful looking immortal drove her to cheat on her dearly beloved. Yet despite the fact she made a horrible mistake, she still finds a way to turn it around so the blame isn’t on her. Her husband didn’t pay enough attention, she didn’t get the affection she wanted from her husband, her husband was never home, her kids were selfish and needy and made her feel useless and depressed. There’s always an excuse in Hallie’s mind, and that could easily be her biggest downfall. Sometimes, you just have to accept that you have made a mistake, apologize, and hopefully move on. She refuses to do so.

Everyday she would see Cameron Way’s face looking up at her with hopeful eyes that maybe he would receive some affection from his mother. All she could give him was an emotionless, expressionless face with cold, unfeeling eyes. She wished she could show the affection that he deserved, but he wasn’t Gavin’s son. If she showed him affection, then she would be betraying her family even more so! Sucks for Hallie that Cam is her favorite child, he being the youngest and the only boy. Poor kid doesn’t get enough affection from his mother or his father. It breaks her heart, but he always seemed to have this goofy smile on his face … that was what she loved most about him.

Hallie as a mother could be seen somewhat as a failed mother, or an awesome mother. She’s loving toward her girls and seemingly indifferent toward her son. She’s a cheater, and she has this sense that her eldest daughter, Harper, has caught on to the fact. Breaks her heart, it does. She can’t help but think that she doesn’t deserve her daughter’s hatred. If only she knew how she was feeling on the inside! Maybe then she wouldn’t hate her so much. Hallie is a fraud, though. She gets plenty of love and affection but somehow is blind to it. She loves her family, but feels unloved by them. She fears the day that Gavin finds out about her affair. She fears the day that she will be completely removed from the Way family, and in turn removed from the Kennedy family as well. The shame she would bring to her own family name would be enough to have her parents disown her. She’ll be forever fearful of that.

One of the pains she has, which may seem ridiculous that she still has a problem with it, is being a werewolf. She’s (extra) irritable because of it and she doesn’t like feeling out of control … she always needs to be in control. It’s a bit of a problem, actually. Since she has no control over her wolf form, she feels unsafe and therefore somewhat dislikes herself for it even if she can’t control the fact that she is a born werewolf from a family of pure werewolves. She somewhat envies the fact that Cam isn’t a full werewolf; he probably has more control than she does.

All in all, however, most people tend to flock toward Hallie because of her poise and personality. She may not be extremely goofy like her son or always smiling, but she is very charismatic and intellectual. She grew up in a city of intuitive people who always strive for the best of the best. She’s an artist and had dreams of owning an artist gallery, but put away those dreams for her marriage and became a high school English teacher. Her students respect her because she doesn’t take any shit from them, and they know that. She’s respected by her peers and by strangers all because of how she holds herself together. If only they knew what she had done, for she would lose her reputation and she fears that. She is surrounded by colleagues and friends that would turn their backs on her the second that they hear of her affair and of the truth of Cameron. The only person who would still be by her side would be her sister, Rachel, and her brother, Michael. They will always have their back – plus, Rachel already knows of the affair because Hallie tells her everything, and Michael loves his sisters too much to ever disown either of them … or at least that’s what Hallie believes.

Hallie Monica Kennedy was born on July 4th, 1969. Yes, that’s the 4th of the July. She was born in Washington, DC – the political city of the nation and the nation’s capital. Hallie comes from the prestigious Kennedy family – and yes, I mean she’s related to John F. Kennedy and those fellows. And yes, they were all werewolves all along. No wonder a majority of the family has been assassinated – while most people think it was just a citizen who had a hatred for them, in reality it was the Hunters killing their supernatural prey. However, the Kennedy’s have become more low key in the political scene. Hallie’s parents are Celine and Cooper Kennedy. She has two siblings: her sister Rachel, and her brother Michael. Hallie is the youngest of the two sisters, Michael being the youngest. When Hallie was eighteen years old she was brought into the Way family.

She was fresh out of high school when she was arranged to marry Gavin Way. He was twenty-two years old while she was eighteen, and Hallie was not excited for the marriage. However, Gavin’s sincerity, sensibleness, and affection cause Hallie to fall for him. He loved her because of her drive. He thought that her irritability was cute and that her personality was the best fit for a mother. A year into their marriage, they had their first daughter Harper. Hallie was nineteen at the time, an age that most people would say is far too young for a child – but in their families it was normal. A year later, when Hallie was twenty, they had their second daughter Elena. Hallie and Gavin Way had what seemed to be the perfect, all-American family. That was until five years into the marriage.

Five years into the marriage, when Hallie was twenty-three years old, she met an immortal named Gabriel Reinard. He was attractive and young looking … and she ended up having an affair with him. She ended up having her third child, Cameron Way. Despite what Gavin and her children believed, Cameron was anything but a pure werewolf. He was an immortal x werewolf hybrid … his father being Gabriel, the immortal from the affair. After she learned she was pregnant, she told Gabriel that she never wanted to see him again. She never told him why she wanted to stop after a few months of senseless sex, and she never told him that she was pregnant with his child. She raised the child with a sense of indifference. She never gave him the love he needed because she couldn’t get herself to love him as freely as she did her daughters. She made him feel unwanted, but in reality he was her favorite child.

Now at forty-three years old, everything seems to be falling apart around her. Her marriage is falling apart on its own – they fight non-stop and Gavin is rarely ever home because he works a lot. Cameron moved out to live with some friends, and Harper hates her guts. Harper knows of the affair … she is the only one in the family who does. Hallie is too much of a coward to own up to her mistake, and refuses to truly admit it to Harper. After all, Hallie believes she isn’t really that much at fault. She believes it was the lack of love and attention.
