New Race: DemiGods or ArchAngels

Not as a newbie-friendly race. I'm thinking a person has to have something like 100 IC post to be able to use either a Demigod or Archangel. And not a new, unheard of Demigod. It should be one from mythology. Whether it's Greek, Roman, Egyptian, ect.

As far as Archangels go, I would suggest the same IC post restriction. As far as I am aware, there are only 7 Archangels: Michael, Lucifer, Rapheal, Gabriel, Uriel, Zadkiel, and Jophiel. Like I said, that is to my knowledge. I studied theology for a bit in college. Those are the most famous named Archangels. Some consider Lucifer not a part of them since he fell. And they do have other names for the other Archangels. However, one thing is the common amongst all knowledge, they are the most powerful and fearsome angels in the Heavenly Host. However, they are more petty than Humans. Power corrupts you know? Also, the Archangels don't have a set human form. Like the show "Supernatural", they have to take a Human to be on Earth. Which diminishes their power a bit, but, they are still fearsome.

Anyways, these are just two suggestions. I figure that if some of the more advanced users might be interested in these stronger than normal races. It's just a suggestion. My feelings won't get hurt if you choose to do nothing. Also, I do have quiet a bit of knowledge on both races and I would be willing to help or at least give you sources.

uh. okay. i totally fucking approve of this. and the archangels should have new "names" to go by :3 also, on the site that izzy and i used to be on, they had these things called "hellhounds" that were like...werewolves that became corrupted with darkness. its the same concept like when angels do something evil and become fallen/demons. i dunno. i love leo's demigod idea, too o.o

I do think it might be difficult to have them have relationships (lovewise, friendswise, w/e) with the characters we have on this site, because as far as I'm aware (correct me if i'm wrong), archangels are like.. God's most divine helpers, his first followers and they're about as holy as anyone who is not God can get. So they have to be like.. nearly perfect, which is leaning towards Mary Sue, Gary Stue-ish things. Also with not a set human form, face-claims will be hard and you can't have one character have multiple faceclaims, that would not be fair.

As for demigods, aren't they half of some god from ancient greek mythology? Since as far as I'm aware of, nightmare doesn't work with multiple gods like during that era, but we just work with one? apart from that, that idea is pretty much awesome.

It would also mean that demigods and archangels cannot exist at the same time, since the archangels only serve the one God (wuth capital letter xd) and demigods are derived from the multiple gods.

uhm, so I don't mean to burn your idea down or to offend you, but there are just things like that we need to think about xd

Hey! So, this is certainly an interesting idea, but unfortunately, we have more than enough species. We have 15, and even if the members are advanced, there would be a lot of limitations. We already have angels, and any other angels that are referred to are never played. Mostly because they have a lot of potential for God modding as well as what Dino said about being Gary-stuish. As for Lucifer, he is the devil, and he is a non played being either. It just would not work for our site setting, it gives too much power to a character, too much immortality and too little weakness. Therefore, I would say no to this, but I guess we can see what the other staff say.

Honestly, I was thinking about adding another race the other night, just because we have SO many hybrids, and that could be because it's cool to mix it up, or also because so many users on this site have multiple characters, and some have expressed that they only like to have one (or two) of each race.

I think we have angels/demons covered (some of the demon characters on site, or angels are already super old - Gideon and Sebbie, for example, are 2500-3000 years old, and adding stuff like these could mess with already established timelines in character history). HOWEVER, I was thinking maybe something like elves could be cool: it's not something we already have covered, they're humanoid, and could be easily covered with a face claim or hybrid claim (half-elf, for example), and they don't run the risk of being Mary Sue or Gary Stu-ish, which would be really annoying.

I pretty much agree with Dino and Jurate on this. It's definitely a cool idea but we do already have a lot of species to pick from including angels and demons. Also agree with the mary-sue/gary-stu element that could happen as well. I'm not sure about the elf idea either or if it really fits with the rest of the site setting but Jurate can let you know CJ. <3

My brain personally can't deal with any more species. It's probably my OCD that loves the number 15 but whatever. Plus, we already have species that aren't as popular I think adding more species would just make things more lopsided. And honestly, I don't like the idea of restricting the angels and demons either, since there's not a ton of them and it's really not fair to people who want to play demons/angels in the future and/or people who have future plans that involve their characters turning into one or the other.

Heh, well, merg, I know it looks like I'm outvoted on this but er- my thoughts. I agree with archangels/angels basically same thing. BUT, I kiiinndddaa like the idea of a Demigod. I understand we've got a bazillion and a half species, but you know, if we were to add another one. Cause we could make it basically a hybrid. And Demigods had a LOT of flaws. They are all super powerful and such, but they do have flaws and weaknesses- just as regular gods did. Like Hera was a jealous bitch that had a lot of husband cheating on her issues so she was very jealous. And we can always place weaknesses down. Usual. Silver, maybe if they have too much power it can really harm them? So they have to really control it? So maayyybbee we could add it in the 'hybrids' and be like 'demigod' instead of 'werewolf/human' and have maybe 50 IC posts instead of 25? Demigod sounds very exciting. But I do agree with all the angel stuff. And IC characters. Too... technical.

I understand everyone. I was just throwing some ideas out there. And demi-gods aren't exclusive to Greek mythology. Personally, and all the studying I've done, I consider any polytheistic religion to be comprised of demi-gods. For a lack of a better word that is. Perhaps there is a better word to address them. But anyways, my feelings aren't hurt. I completely understand with how many species there already is.

well i just now saw this, and my thoughts on the whole thing are:
1) archangels are a no just because jurate and dino are right, and they would be too perfect
2) demigods would actually be kind of awesome because like leo said, they're in a lot of other religions and it could bring another element to the site that could attract even more people. and i mean, even supernatural had an episode where the egyptian god osiris was there and tried to get dean to feel guilty enough to have his heart eaten by ammit and therefore being sent to the underworld so that's one way to look at it. i think that it would be better for it to be a species on its own and not under hybrids though, and have its own sections because you could be daughter of posiden and have water powers or son of zeus and have electrical powers of some kind. i mean, you never know, and it depends on what gods we would use if we did it. so that would be something else to look at, which could make it really difficult

i think adding another species atm would be a lot, but its a really great idea!! me gusta, lion!
