STRENGTHS At least 4.
[li] Adrian’s brain has always been both a strength and a weakness. He is considered to be brilliant for someone so young, but this can come at a heavy price. Adrian has always been told he has an old soul and at times, he feels like this may be true. However, he does not view it as a positive trait. Especially around people his age, Adrian feels as though he cannot really relate to anyone. He’s constantly analyzing and at times, he can be too smart for his own good. Sometimes he wishes that he could be just like everyone
else.
Growing up, he really didn’t have much social interaction with people his age, so he learned to find comfort in books and writing, instead of humans beings. He finds himself growing frustrated at times and lonely at others. He craves intellectual conversation. He is no snob and Adrian doesn’t expect people to have a discussion about Russian Literature, but he just wants to talk to someone with a good head on their shoulders. Intelligence doesn’t always correlate with “book smarts”. As a strength, Adrian has always been able to formulate clear, logical ideas and has a vivid, photographic memory. He’s the perfect person to ask to tutor you, if you are ever in a bind. He’s always willing to help someone out.
[/li][li] His kind nature is also a double edged sword. Adrian is nice to everyone, until they provoke him. He will go out of his way to make someone smile, if he sees that they are having a bad day. Seeing people in any kind of pain, whether it be emotional or physical, upsets Adrian beyond belief. He's your old school gentlemen, who believes in treating everyone with the respect that they deserve.
He's always willing to lend and hand, which makes him the target for being walked all over. Especially since he is so soft spoken. He rarely sticks up for himself, but has no problem sticking up for others. When it comes to matters of the heart, Adrian has come to realize that being the "good guy" really won't land you anywhere. Some may see his gentle heart as a positive or a negative trait.
[/li][li] Although he doesn't have much self esteem, Adrian enjoys his dark sense of humor. It isn't a personality trait that he would ever give up. He won't admit it out loud, but he enjoys making people squirm a bit. His idea of funny generally isn't funny to normal people. It may be a bit sad, but Adrian cracks himself up at times. Especially with his own inner monologue.
[/li][li] Adrian has always been an empath. It may not be considered an actual warlock power, but it has helped him create marvelous herbs and charms. He hopes to utilize this trait in the medical field. He truly wants to help a patient get better, instead of just writing them a prescription and sending them on their way.

WEAKNESSES At least 4.
- Adrian is a perfectionist when it comes to his work. This may be seen as a positive trait, but it can also be a fatal flaw. He is so devoted to his studies, that at times, he can become obsessed. He is the type of person to not sleep for days on end, in order to ace a test or master a spell. He is a freak when it comes to staying neat and organized and his friends describe him as being a tad bit "obsessive compulsive". He hates being forced to work with others, because he doesn't believe they will do any work (or do it wrong). You can't completely blame him! Most people don't put it in the amount of effort that they should be doing.
- His shy nature is a terrible weakness. Depending on the person, Adrian can immediately warm to someone---however, this is rare. If you want to become friends with him, you are really going to have to try. Adrian is an introvert by nature and it is hard to break him out of his shell. Once you do, you won't regret it in the slightest.
HABITS At least 3.
- When Adrian is incredibly nervous, he sometimes starts spouting out random facts about whatever is going on. For example, say he was really into a girl and he was on a coffee date, he might accidentally start rambling about the history of the cocoa bean or the Spanish Inquisition.
- Sometimes, if Adrian is really passionate about a subject, he has the tendency to stutter. His brain works much faster than his mouth does.
- He twirls his hair when he's nervous.
FEARS At least 3.
- Terminal illness.
- Not being able to become a doctor.
- Dark bathrooms.
DESIRES At least 1.
- To use his abilities as a warlock, to help shape the medical field.
SECRETS At least 1.
- He's bisexual. This isn't really a deep secret, because many people know. However, if his father found out, he would despise Adrian more than he already does.
OVERALL
If you are ever on the hunt for Adrian Murray, you will find him in one of two places: in the library, reading or in a coffee shop, reading. The boy is a bit of an introvert and can be terribly shy, depending on the company. When you grow up having to learn to entertain yourself, human interaction can be quite terrifying. Adrian has always found comfort in books, a trait he inherited as an early child. He was born in London, England and being the son of two, well known professors impacted his childhood greatly. While other children were being read fairy tales at bed time, Adrian was recited Greek and Roman mythology. As he grew older, he was fed Nabokov, Camus, Dickens, Wilde, and Machiavelli, instead of your average children’s books. His parents were strict, forcing Adrian to learn French, Russian, and Latin and although he hated at the time, he can’t deny that he is incredibly grateful now (especially for the Latin, because now he could translate so many great works).
Although he may be your textbook definition of “smart”, Adrian is very modest and rarely voices his intelligence. However, if you are a pseudo intellectual, walking around pretending to be smarter than you actually are, Adrian has no problem tearing you down a few notches. One of his biggest pet peeves are those who try to be something that they aren’t. If you have to brag about how “smart” you are, then chances are you probably aren’t all that brilliant. One of the few times you'll ever see Mr. Murray get mad, is when he is surrounded by morons and ignorance. The few “enemies” he has generally tend to be bullies or those who place themselves upon a pedestal. He gets annoyed when people assume he is an idiot, because he is so young. Maybe that’s why he works so hard, because he’s trying to prove something to the world. Or maybe he’s just fed up with everything.
He may be shy, but Adrian is one of the kindest boys you could ever meet. He is very dorky and his humor is slightly morbid, but he is lovable nonetheless. Adrian hates seeing anyone sad or upset, so he’ll always go out of his way to try and make someone’s day a little bit brighter. He believes in chivalry and being polite, no matter the circumstance. He is what some would call “a fine, English gentleman” and has a tendency to be “old school” when it comes to matters of the heart. Sometimes, this is a positive trait, but he’s noticed it is mostly negative. Girls love a bad boy and Adrian is most certainly not a bad boy. Yeah, sure, women claim they want a “good guy”, but in reality, most want that dangerous boy, who will treat them like garbage. Basic human psychology as it’s finest. Adrian tries not to let anyone capture his heart, because as cliche’ as it sounds, he’s that nice guy that almost always finishes last. He’s has his heart broken one two many times and it’s not the most pleasant experience. He just wants someone intelligent, with a wicked sense of humor, that isn’t afraid to be themselves. Is that too much to ask? Maybe. Becoming close with someone has never been easy for Adrian, but he isn’t unwilling to try.
On a lighter note, most people are surprised to find out that Adrian is what you would call a “nerd”. He finds pleasure in fantasy, the paranormal, horror movies, computers, science fiction, graphic novels, and comic books. His sense of humor is a bit dark and odd at times, but he blames it on being English and his addiction to things that can be defined as strange. He’s sort of obsessed with serial killers and medieval torture devices, so don’t be shocked if you hear some obscure, disturbing fact while you are trying to eat. If he ever found a girl that loved Star Wars, read Nabokov, could create a wicked potion and enjoyed horror movies, Adrian would probably have to marry her on the spot. He loves discovering fellow nerds, whether they be bookworms, computer geeks, comic book lovers---or a hybrid of all of the above, like Adrian himself.
Since his mothers passing, Adrian has been obsessed with finding a cure for human diseases. After he graduates, he hopes to work as a doctor, no matter which world he decides to stay in. Adrian is constantly researching, but he also devotes a lot of his time to other studies. He hopes to use his talents with healing, in the medical field. He’s incredibly quiet, so most people just know him as “that smart guy”. Although he’s shy, he’s never afraid to help anyone out. He’s always willing to tutor and genuinely enjoys helping others learn. He takes his education very seriously, because he believes the mind is the most powerful weapon you can possess.

OVERALL
Adrian was pulled violently into this world on October 31st, at exactly three o’clock in the morning. He was a bit of an unexpected baby, but welcomed none the less (for the most part). Emily Murray was ready to have children, but Charles was much more uncertain. To him, a child was a distraction from his studies. Both Charles and Emily were well established professors in London, England. Both of his parents were magical, but Charles had always leaned towards darker magic.
Mrs. Murray decided that she was at the point in her life where if she waited any longer, she would not be able to have any children (without an incredible risk, of course). Growing up, Adrian’s parents were strict. Being two established intellectuals, they wanted their son to be a prodigy. By the age of nine, he was ahead of his class and had already mastered three languages.
However, although he appreciates it now, this kind of upbringing can affect your social life. Adrian was often alone, because his parents worked at the University and he was expected to entertain himself. Adrian developed into an introvert, a kind introvert, but an introvert nonetheless. He found comfort in books and writing, instead of human interaction. Although his father loved Adrian, he was the colder of the two parents. Emily was the loving and gentle one. She introduced Adrian to art and let him enjoy his comic books and graphic novels. She would sit and watch horror movies with him, even though Adrian knew she couldn’t stand any of that rubbish. Emily spent as much time as she could with her son, even if that time was limited.
The day after sixteenth birthday, Emily Murray announced that she was diagnosed with brain cancer. The doctors predicted that she would last for a year, but in reality, she only had six months to live. Watching his mother go through chemotherapy was the hardest thing Adrian ever had to bear. Her once brilliant mind was turned into waste, as the tumor continued to grow and grow. Being an only child and the son of a man who refused to show any emotions, Adrian was completely alone with his pain. His friends comforted him as much as they could, but Adrian really needed his father more than ever. After his mother lost her battle, the entire, fragile, Murray family crumbled. Charles tried to numb his pain by completely consuming himself in his work. Adrian was used to not seeing his father all that often, but it had come to the point where he wouldn’t see him for days on end. There was almost no interaction between the father and the son. Unknown to Adrian at the time, the rift would soon become even greater.
A few weeks after his seventeenth birthday, Charles announced that they would be moving to the United States, to live with his sister, Lydia. Although he never said the words out loud, Adrian knew that his father couldn’t bear to live in London any longer. There were too many memories of his beloved wife. Emily had always been his stabilizer and without her, Charles didn’t know how to function.
Being an introvert, the move was rough on Adrian. He was grateful for a change in pace, but it didn’t help his social life much. However, his Aunt Lydia was willing to teach Adrian magic that he never knew he was capable of doing. Charles didn’t approve of his sons gift with healing, so he taught Adrian little to nothing of their ancestry. Aunt Lydia slowly became a second mother to him. When he turned eighteen, Charles moved out of his sisters home and left Adrian to live with his aunt. He doesn’t despise his son, but he never could find it in his heart to love Adrian the way a father should. Adrian briefly stayed with his aunt, but eventually bought his own, small apartment. He is currently a pre med student.

RP SAMPLE
This is a little bit from a Harry Potter site I'm on. It gives a decent glimpse into Adrian's personality.
Hearing a noise coming from the stairs, Adrian peeked up from his book. Oh, right,of course---Crimson Leandres would be walking into the Common Room. Of all the people that would show up, it would be her. And of course, she would catch Adrian reading in his dorky boxers. He curled his legs underneath him, but it was all in vain. There was no hiding now. He couldn’t exactly run upstairs, without it looking painfully obvious that the boy was a nervous wreck around this girl.
Crimson was a year younger than Adrian, but he was a sucker for women that enjoyed reading. Adrian is hopeless bibliophile. His shyness doesn’t exactly help, either. They may have spoken a total of two sentences to one another, in all of his years at Hogwarts. Adrian jumped up when Crimson fell and went to go help her, but she had pulled herself together. "Are you sure you’re alright?” He asked, tentatively. He didn’t want to seem pushy, because Crimson seemed like the type of girl that refused to accept pity from anyone, not even herself.
Did Crimson just acknowledge Adrian’s existence? This was news to him. He wasn’t actually even sure she knew his name. If the shock wasn’t clearly visible on his face, Adrian would be grateful. He felt a nervous blush form on this cheeks and he instantly cursed his pale skin. God, that was the worst. When you could actually feel your cheeks getting red. It’s not like you could try to hide at that point. If he shoved a book in front of his face, that might give an entirely wrong impression. Determined to not be a total idiot, Adrian replied with, “Yes, that’s me.” However, being early in the morning and Adrian not being fully awake, his Scottish accent made it sound more like a butchered version of, “Ye, tha meh”. His accent had slightly diminished over the years, but people occasionally had to to ask, “what did you just say?” He’s learned to turn it off slightly, but it was early and the boy was nervous.
Adrian cleared his throat. This was going so well. "You’re Crimson, right?” He already knew the answer, but he didn’t want to seem like a stalker. "Il est très agréable de vous rencontrer officiellement”, he said, offering a small smile. He once overheard Crimson saying that she was from France, so Adrian took it as his opportunity to try to make up for lost ground. What if Crimson couldn’t speak French though? Now he just looked like a total snob. "I just...I just...I remember overhearing once that you are from France, right?” Great, now he really looked like a stalker. "I’m just going to stop while I’m ahead. Pretty girls make my brain turn to isotropic gas”, he mumbled. This is the number one example as to why Adrian kept his mouth shut.
Not wanting to seem like a total loser, Adrian tried to redeem himself by asking,“what brings you down here this late? Are your roommates screaming about murderous penguins, too?”
