OVERALL
Ana is a wanderer. She doesn't like being in the same place for long. She uses the excuse of 'well, I moved a lot when I was a kid'. But she really just hasn't found a 'home' yet. You see, for Ana, 'home' doesn't have to be a place. Home is wherever or whoever or whatever makes her feel safe and warm. But her wandering doesn't prevent her from making friends or having relationships. In fact, she's happiest when she's with her friends and family or when she's playing her music. She's sarcastic and sassy, and she doesn't beat around the bush when it comes to her opinions on things. She loves running and jumping and shooting things with foam darts and paintballs. She has the energy of a five-year-old, honestly. She is also very...self confident. Yes. That's a good word for what she is. She honestly thinks that she's the best thing since sliced bread. Or so she says. Deep down, she's terrified of not being enough. Of not being smart enough, or good enough. It's why she hates being compared to anyone else. Particularly her family members. That's why she avoids seeing her parents- because she doesn't want them comparing her to her brother and sister.
Ana has a terrible temper and when she is angry, she's scary. She doesn't yell and scream- she gets quiet. And that's when you know she's pissed. But she also calms down quickly as well. Unless you do something terrible to her, she doesn't hold grudges. She's fiercely loyal to the people she cares about. She would literally go to hell and back for them. She knows when to tease and poke fun at her friends, and when they need her to be kind and comforting.

OVERALL
You know those families where everyone has some sort of artistic talent? Well, Ana came from one of those. Her mother was an opera singer and her father was a well-known conductor. They met at some sort of classical music event-thing, and they fell in love. They dated for a few years before finally tying the knot. A few months later, and their first child was born. This child was Ana. Oh, and the other thing about Ana'a parents, the thing that pulled them together, possibly more than the shared love of music - her mother was a witch and her father was a warlock. Now, as the daughter of two performers, Ana spent a lot of time on the road. Or, rather, in the air. on planes. Sure, her parents technically had a house. They just weren't there a lot. So Ana didn't really put down roots until her brother, Daniel, was born. While the moving certainly slowed down after his birth, they still spent a lot of time away from home. Finally, when Ana was eight, her youngest sibling, Elena was born. Her parents finally decided to put down roots officially. But eight years of constantly being in new places had taken its hold on Ana.
She hated being in one place. Hated it almost as much as she hated the lessons her parents gave her on spells and potions and on how to control her powers. She didn't understand why her parents were so adamant about keeping her powers hidden. How could they explain that revealing her secret could be dangerous? She was eight! So they just pushed her. And not just on magic. Her mother gave her singing lessons, her father piano. And she was good at both. She wasn't as good as Daniel was on his viola, or Elena on her oboe. But she was good at piano. It made sense to her. But then she discovered guitar. And that's when she became the 'black sheep' musician in her family. That is to say, the only non-classical musician. Her parents were not amused. They kept asking why she couldn't be more like her brother and sister. This is when she formed her hatred of being compared to people.
Fast forward a few years. When Ana finally graduated high school, she didn't go to college. Instead she opted to travel. She wanted to see the world, or at least the rest of the country. Her parents (surprise surprise) didn't approve. They cut her off, and Ana was basically on her own, aside from what her siblings gave her. She had the car she had saved up for moths to buy, a duffle bag full of clothes and her guitar. That was it. She traveled all over the country, working off jobs to get money. She kept in contact with her siblings. And she was content. Not happy exactly, but it was better than being miserable and in one place.
But then she came across Manuka. And she found, for the first time, a sense of belonging. She made friends, joined a band as their rhythm guitarist. She even got a job and has considered going back to school. She has a roommate. It's the closest she's ever been to actually putting down roots.
And it absolutely terrifies her.

RP SAMPLEDei had never been Sadie’s biggest fan while Art was dating her. But Dei had hated Sadie for a long time after Dei saw what the break-up had done to her friend. What it was still doing to him. It had ripped out his heart and he hadn’t been the same since. Which was why at the party seeing him with Sadie had torn her up inside. Well, that and she had feelings for him herself and seeing him with his ex…well, it hurt, to say the least. Until she drank the punch and started obsessing over Peter…that had been awkward. Peter was like her brother. Her hyper, crazy, dragon-obsessed brother. And she was fairly certain Annette had feelings for Peter.
Even though Sadie sometimes made Dei want to punch her in the face, it did not compare to her rage towards Art’s father. She had always known that Art didn’t have the best home life- he had told her that much. But she had no idea about just how bad it was. It made her want to beat the crap out of her friend’s dad. That was saying something coming from Dei, who was big on the ‘respect your elders’ thing. Her heart broke for Art. How he managed to deal with that, she didn’t know. It did explain about some of his actions, though. If he had to be the adult at home, then he probably felt like the only chance he could be a kid was at school. It was his release. She wanted to take Art’s pain away, she wanted to make him feel better. He was her best friend, and he had been hurting all this time and she hadn’t known. It wasn’t a pity factor that made her want to help him. It was the fact that he had always been there when she needed him. Whenever he was ready to talk about it, she would be there to listen.
But that was a different problem for a different day. She had other things to worry about, namely the Masquerade and Art’s invitation. She honestly hadn’t planned on going to it. That much was true. However, what she was planning on doing instead was learning the grounds of Seiseux like she had the desert. She wanted to know every rock, tree, and clump of dirt like the back of her hand. If she knew the land, then she could use it to her advantage if the school was attacked again. Or in case she needed someplace to chill away from her friends. She had spent six years of her life in the place- it was about time she was able to walk the grounds blindfolded.
But then Art had invited her to go with him. And even though there was a big part of her that wanted to go with Art, wanted to have a good time and to just let go, there was also the part that would rather die than hurt Logan. That part was the problem. Logan was just as important to her as Art was. He was her housemate, one of her closest friends. She couldn’t avoid him if she tried. So if he hurt, it would hurt her, too. She didn’t want to be the one causing the hurt. That would just tear her apart. But it was the same way with Art. If she hurt him, she would never be able to forgive herself. And that was where her problem was- any decision she made, one of them would get hurt and she couldn’t bring herself to choose which one she would rather hurt.
That’s what was so hard about Art’s invitation. It wasn’t that she liked Logan better or that she hated Art- it was that by accepting, someone would get hurt. Someone she cared about. Even though by not accepting, she was hurting Art, but it wasn’t like she was planning on going anyway. She felt bad about lying to him about her plans, but she didn’t want him to think she was some kind of nature freak. She just liked to know where everything was. She liked to know the best places to hide. She liked knowing which roots to watch out for. She liked knowing where holes were. Her grandfather insisted it was her Native American heritage. Dei was pretty sure it was just because she was paranoid.
“Well, you have an unfair advantage! All you have to do is flash your puppy eyes at me and I give up. How am I supposed to argue against those,” Dei mock whined, pouting. It really wasn’t fair. It was also one of the reasons Dei couldn’t stay angry at him for any extended period of time. That and her life was so much more boring without him there, keeping her on her toes. Not that he needed to know that. Oh, no. That would only go to his head. Dei couldn’t have Art’s ego swelling any more than it already was.
Dei buried her face into the crook of Art’s neck, inhaling his scent. “If I had any sort of backbone, I would have chosen by now,” She mumbled. She hated this situation. She hated feeling like she was stringing the two most important guys in her life (outside of her family) along because she couldn’t make a decision. Then, part of Art’s statement hit her. Logan was going with Casey? Well, if they were going together, then there was no reason why she couldn’t go with Art, beyond already having plans. She chose to not think about that at the moment. "I’m sorry,” She repeated, closing her eyes.
