OVERALL
Normal is not a word you would use to describe Nile. On the outside she looks like a typical teenage girl, blessed with the beauty of an angel. But on the inside she's a dark person. She has a habit of watching people, staring them down and taking in everything they do or say. Because of this she comes off as creepy and the immediate reaction you have is to stay away from her. And that would do you good. But no, one look in those captivating eyes and you are hooked. She draws you in whether you like it or not. But no worries, this is all just a part of her twisted games. She won't kill you. She will seduce and manipulate you, get into your head. You are her puppet. She'll use you up until she's had her fun then cut the strings and leave you behind. Nile doesn't take any of this seriously, she simply enjoys being in control of people. She is neutral in the war because while a part of her is evil, the other part knows her limits. She won't kill any innocent being or human with no good reason. Instead of choosing one side and fighting, she'd rather be elusive and let everyone else do the dirty work.
Apart from the people in her mind games, she may make a friend or two that she doesn't play them with. Although this is rare, unless it is another merperson. Her fun is usually had with humans and not her own kind. This is because humans are much more easy to manipulate. Why does she do these twisted things? It could do with the fact that she is terrified of her own true emotions. She can put on a good show whilst hiding every little feeling she has inside of her and you'd never be able to tell. It's an addiction she has, to be completely in control of everything that happens to her, even how she comes across to people. She doesn't want to be thought of a weakling, so in turn will do everything she can to come across as strong and unbreakable.
So what do you say, up for a little game?

Nile grew up a pretty average life. Her mother and father loved her very much. They were both merpeople, so naturally that's what she was. They both fought on the light side of the war, but didn't like to get into conflict. When Nile was born they tried to have the most normal life possible, staying away from the water at all costs. Her parents actually wished that they could be human. Nile, however, did not. She loved everything about being a mermaid and was usually in the water more than out. At a young age she learned how to be elusive of people, just in case they were a hunter or a human that could see her in her form. She found herself eating raw meat often, catching small fish and such. Laurel and Rodger worried for their daughter at times, because some of the things she would say were dark or twisted. When she was around eight years old her parents were murdered by hunters, luckily she was not with them when this happened or she'd have the same fate.
With both parents deceased, Nile went to live with her human aunt, Rose, who really isn't her aunt, actually her mother's step sister. Rose has always had little to no interest in Nile and they barely say three words to each other on good days. Rose knows what she is and this may be why she stays well away from her, because let's be honest, Nile is an intimidating, if not creepy person. To her, her aunt is nothing more than a person that provides food, shelter, clothes, and spends way too much time at work. Because of this, Nile is often alone at home. Not that she minds, she'd rather be alone anyways. If it were her choice she would live on her own, but she has a while before that's a possibility. She's considered running away before but has decided against it. No matter how good she is at hiding, that doesn't protect her from the hunters that lurk around every corner. Better to stick around town than face the dangers ahead just yet.
Now she spends her days not particularly trying too hard in school, getting by with a B average. She still doesn't know what she wants to do with her life and is searching for what she believes is destiny. Finding it has not proved to be easy. You can find her often at some source of water, although she prefers the ocean over any lake. But actually seeing her is rare, because she is naturally elusive. If you do see her in her mermaid form, and you are a human, beware. She might kill you, or at least scare you enough not to tell. Nile would much rather have her supernatural abilities a secret rather than broadcasting them to the world. Unless she really trusts you, then she might show you. But with trust comes many other emotions that she's not equipped to face just yet.

Annie couldn't sleep. She had been up since five in the morning, tossing and turning and trying to sleep. But she wasn't tired and she had no idea why. Okay, maybe the fact that her and her aunt had gone to bed at eight the night before. Geez, how pathetic is that? A seventeen year old going to sleep before midnight. She mentally put herself to shame. She's already been here for a week and the most had accomplished was wading two feet into the ocean and meeting a total of two people. For Annie, this was not satisfying. She needed to pick up the pace. After all, she didn't pick up and leave Maine for no reason. She wanted new experiences! That is why she promised herself that today she would start her life, actually change something and make an impact. So far, this town was not satisfying her adventurous spirit. She just has to keep reminding herself that this is what she makes of it, and there's no reason she should be complaining when she is in such a beautiful place.
She rolled over and slid her feet into her fuzzy slippers, opening her blinds and letting in the rays of sunlight. Her room was smaller than the one she had back in Maine, but she almost liked it better. Instead of overlooking an ugly old roof she saw the cute little neighborhood that her aunt lived in, so green and so sunny. So unlike Canaan. She sighed and went into the bathroom, which connected to her room, another perk of this house. As she turned on the hot water to her shower and stepped in, she was thinking how stupid it was for her to be comparing each and every thing she had now in Bluewater to her hometown and her life there. But she supposed that it's human nature, something a normal person would do. Then again, when had she ever been completely normal?
After showering she promptly brushed out her long blonde hair then decided to let it air dry to it's natural wave. She chose a yellow fitted tank top that she had in four other colors and questionably short shorts. She applied some light makeup, that consisted of mascara and a little lip gloss. Nothing dramatic or anything, she didn't like makeup much and disliked it when girls wore too much of it. To her, it just made them look like cheap prostitutes. But that was just her opinion.
Her aunt's cat, Bee, a peculiar little black and white and caramel colored female came strutting into Annie's room as she was changing clothes. She grinned and scooped up the small feline, receiving a dramatic howl in response. "Why, good morning lovely Bee." She said, scratching the cat's head and giving her a gentle kiss on the nose. "How are you this fine morning?" As if the animal would answer that question. "Wanna go on a walk, darling? We can walk to the beach." Yeah, Bee the cat went on walks. There was not a litter box in the house because she acted like a dog. She was an odd little thing, and Annie loved her for it. She grabbed Bee's pink leash and clipped it onto her matching bejeweled collar, slipping on her white flip flops and heading out the door. Bee lead the way as they made their way toward Halfmoon Bay, acting like she was queen of California and ruled everyone in it.
They arrived not too long later, and it was a hot day so Annie appreciated the light breeze that they walked against. She was examining the beautiful waves and thought she might have seen a seal or dolphin or something with there was a tug at the end of the leash. Bee had spotted a bird. She pulled against Annie, growling because she wanted to get it so bad. "Stop Bee," she said and yanked on the leash. The cat wasn't having it. With a swift movement she slipped her collar and took off down the sandy shores, not even looking back as she chased the evasive seagulls.
"Bee! Bee, come back here!" Annie ran after the cat, but couldn't match her speed. She was just about to give up when she lost sight of the feline. Her aunt was going to kill her! She loved that cat. With another hopeless glance around, she noticed a figure, holding something in it's arms. Bee. She sighed in sheer relief and jogged up to him, holding out her arms. "Oh, thank you! I thought she was lost forever."
