He was having the most wonderful dream. Of what, you may ask? Well he couldn’t rightfully answer; Caden forgot the moment he woke up in a stranger’s bed. This wasn’t an odd occurrence for the young man, not by a long shot. Despite his very religious upbringing by two devote Catholic parents, Caden didn’t follow it. His best explanation was that after religion scorned him, he decided to ignore it. Or it could’ve just been the fact that, there really was no need to follow a religion. At least in his eyes. Caden knew there was such a thing as God and heaven. He’d spent a good amount of time in the place in the clouds and while Caden had never met God personally, he’d met some of his closest men. But what were they going to the blonde if he didn’t follow their rules? Not let him into heaven? He was already banned from there anyway. Take away the threat and there was no pressure to follow the rules. Though Cade was getting away from himself. The point was, he’d slept with enough girls to give his mother a heart attack, if the poor woman weren’t already resting peacefully in her grave.
Cade turned his bright blue eyes to the girl whose bed he was occupying. She was still asleep, at least as far as Cade could tell. He wished he could remember her name. It was something with an ‘S’ and Caden wished for the life of him that he could remember her name. While he might’ve not been able to get drunk anymore, sometimes a buzz caused him to forget small details. Too bad, she was a pretty thing. Though Cade was sure he could get her name alter, in a not over obvious way. Stretching and then slipping silently out of the bed as to not disturb the girl, Caden slipped into his pants that were on the floor from last night. He had a button down shirt already on, unbuttoned but still wearing it. Cade tried to keep a shirt on, as weird as it was, because of the two scars running down his back. No need to have anyone touch those and take themselves down a memory lane they’d rather not travel. The young Salvatore silently padded to the door, sliding out of the room as carefully as he had of the bed.
Contrary to popular belief, Cade wasn’t trying to leave unnoticed. That was very ungentlemanly and while Caden might not have been the good little Catholic boy his mom wanted him to be, he was always a gentleman. The fallen wanted to make the girl breakfast, because it was always nice to get breakfast in bed. He observed her apartment, exploring it while trying to find the kitchen. There was a hell of a lot fish. Everywhere. Tanks where you’d never begin to imagine placing them. To be quite honest, it gave him the slight heebie-jeebies. Cade wasn’t sure what it was about fish eyes, but he just hated them. Hated being stared at by them. And now there were hundreds with Cade the one on display. Shuttering slightly, Cade came to what looked to be the kitchen. Now came the fun part; he’d have to try to find everything while being totally noiseless. Luckily for the blonde, he was rather well practiced in the art of playing kitchen hide and go seek. Eventually he found all the things needed for pancakes. He started mixing ingredients in a glass bowl he had found in one of the cabinets, making pancakes from scratch after realizing that the girl had no pancake mix. They were lucky the kid new how to cook.
I'm so excited about these two!

closing the door last night. He'd been cute. Scratch that, he was absolutely gorgeous, and knowing her, she had probably mentioned that, being the sly drunk that she can sometimes be. A pained expression fell on her features for a moment, yes, even though she was never one to judge, the blonde still felt like he was a decent guy. Nevertheless, she slid on a tank-top and a pair of shorts, always keeping her larger apartment a nicer temperature. Catching a glimpse of her hair in her bathroom mirror, she paused, how attractive. Snatching the brush on her dressed she raked it through her locks before dumping it back down, and peeking out through the door, just to smell - pancakes. She didn't have any batter, did she? So how the hell was he making pancakes? By scratch? All right, this she needed to so. Quietly, she wriggled her fingers in a silent morning to her fish, and paused, before speaking, feeling like she was in middle school again, approaching her crush, "Uh....good morning." There. Oh crap, now she had to remember the hunk's name. Plus, he cooked. Poor Sara, she'd learned how to cook decent stuff, but never pancakes from scratch. Eyes landed on her fish for a moment, before shifting them back to the blonde. Dammit, what was his name? Caleb or something. Fighting her brain for it like fighting a dog for a treat in its mouth, Sara spoke, "Do...you need aspirin?" She produced a bottle from a cupboard and two glasses, either way figuring he'd want something to drink. Pausing, she sighed and spoke, "Caden....yes?" She'd admit, as she was sure he would too, it should have been a one-night thing, but he had stayed. And even though she wasn't going to admit it now, she was really glad he had. Maybe there was something there...but hey, what did she know? The pancakes were turning out nicely and Caden couldn’t help but be a slight bit proud. He’d take anything to give his ego just a tiny boost. Especially because he was really hoping the girl would like them. It was still bothering him that he couldn’t think of her name when he really should have known it. Shannon? Sadie? Sam? He’d figure it out eventually. He really had no idea what the girl’s reaction would be to finding him in her kitchen cooking. Most likely, she would’ve expected him to leave. It was just what typically happened, and it was a good way to avoid the morning after conversation. Cade checked the first batch of pancakes and, deciding they were golden brown enough, flipped them onto a plate that he had found during his mini kitchen adventure. He was starting the second round when he heard movement behind him, but waited until she said good morning before he even looked away from the griddle. Caden didn’t want to accidently startle her or something by moving too quickly. He wasn’t even sure what kind of mood he’d find the blonde in. Hopefully she wasn’t one of those angry girls, who’d screamed and cried and yelled at him for being a nasty, horrible guy for taking advantage of her. They were wrong to make that assumption; Cade never pushed girls to do anything they didn’t want to do. If they woke up not remembering that they had been a willing participant, it wasn’t his fault.
“Good mornin’ to you too, darlin’,” Cade responded, turning around to face the pretty blonde. He wasn’t entirely sure where the accent had come from; it just made random appearances. He attributed it to moving all around the world, living in so many different regions. He had just picked up on certain dialog that would slip into his speech at random times. The darling bit though, that was naturally Cade. He was quick to give endearing nicknames, this time particularly because he was still drawing a blank with her name. “Hope you’re hungry. I made too much batter,” Caden warned, turning back to the stove so he could flip the pancakes. Satisfied, his back was once again to the griddle, his eyes on the girl. The fallen angel was hoping that if he looked at her long enough, her name would come back to him. He wasn’t sure why it was so hard for him to remember this one. The boy was determined though; he’d figure it out. It definitely started with an ‘S’. And it was something short, simple and sweet. “No aspirin. Thanks though.” Cade didn’t even have a slight headache. It took an insane amount of alcohol to give him a buzz, and it typically disappeared by the next morning – if not sooner – with no traces of it at all. The plus of being a fallen, he assumed. Dammit. She remembered his name. It made Caden feel ten times worse for not being able to remember hers. “Yeah,” he said with a slight smile, turning back to the griddle and checking the pancakes. Almost. Whistling a small tune as he waited, Cade tapped the spatula against the handle of the griddle. He hated waiting. Checking the pancakes again, he placed them on the plate of a total of eight pancakes. There was enough batter left to at least double that amount. Oops. He poured more batter into almost perfect circles onto the griddle and faced the blonde again. Caden would remember her name if it killed him. Metaphorically speaking, of course. There was very little that could actually kill him. “You were supposed to stay in bed so I could bring you breakfast,” the blonde said, an almost sheepish smile on his face.

The fish seemed to react to it in some way, pausing when he heard his name, before wriggling around and then finally darting off, most likely to find the anename that he made his home in in the tank. Her attention snapped though when the guy answered her back. That had been a mild surprise to her. It was a pleasant one nonetheless, she'd really expected him to go ahead and leave and such, but at least he hadn't. Well, she was relieved he hadn't, but then again, there was the awkward morning after too. These she'd never dealt with before, so it was new territory, and she didn't have a light to help guide her through it. Though he seemed pretty lax about it, so that she was thankful for, she was curious to know how he'd react, especially since she wasn't kicking him out. Well - having breakfast made was a big plus. Grinning softly at his accent, she arched an eyebrow, and mused, "Like the accent." a light grin spread on her features. Had he had an accent last night? Dammit, she was always one for those too, and any kind of accent really. Regrettably she'd never gotten one, but they were always so neat. Tilting her head slightly, Sara then narrowed her eyes to Caden. Good, she'd tested his name, and it had worked. God, she would have felt like such an insect if she had said the wrong name. And completely embarrassed. A light laugh jumped from her lips when he spoke about having made too much batter. Checking to see how many pancakes there were, the mermaid smiled and added, toying with a random string of her hair, "Yeah, I am...but...you're not eating any?" Her concern fell along her features. Wait, so he was only making her pancakes? Giving him a curious look, Sara then put the bottle away, since her mild headache was vanishing already, and it would go faster once she had some food in her. Plucking two glasses, she inquired, "Do you want anything to drink?" as she then grabbed the syrup from the pantry and set it out for Cade and herself. She personally hoped he'd eat, she'd feel bad, and she really didn't mind if he grabbed himself something from her kitchen. It wasn't like she was going to call the police or anything. People did this all the time. Just not her...usually. But that didn't matter, maybe she'd picked a good one...he was here after all. Shaking that thought away, Sara sighed in silent relief, so she had gotten the name right. Wonderful. Lazily pushing her answering machine, there was one missed call. Probably when they were both sleeping from her father, since he lived in a different timezone, he tended to randomly call sometimes. "You were supposed to stay in bed so I could bring you breakfast." His words caught her, and Sara eyed him intently, with slightly wide eyes. Cade was planning on bringing her breakfast in bed? Seeing the smile - that she thought was god so cute on him, Sara resisted the urge, like if she had been with her friends, to do that little giggle that girls always saved for when they saw a really gorgeous handsome guy do something adorable. Not that she'd ever say that to his face, adorable. Most men preferred you know, the rugged, more manly adjectives. Too bad guys, girls usually used that stuff, and it's always a plus with some girls towards guys. Grinning shyly back at his smile, she then exclaimed, "I didn't see...a note." her green eyes flashed playfully, and she smiled reassuringly, pointing to her feet, "Those, those are my feet. I can use them to get back into bed, besides, I did need to feed my fish anyway." she reassured, as she grabbed the three different types of food she gave them. Tossing down a hunk of broccoli for some of the various types that would eat it on a string, the mermaid then crawled up gracefully onto the side of the tank with a small ladder, and fed them their breakfast. All the fish scrambled for it, they could probably be compared to dogs. Turning to Cade as she lightly jumped down from the ladder, Sara spoke, "I'll just return back to my bed then, there's a tray down beneath your right leg." another flash of a smile, and she turned on her heel, heading back to bed. There she crawled up and under the sheets, feeling like a child waiting for their parent to tell them they could stay home sick and they got something to make them feel better. In her case, she got something a whole lot better, she got Caden, and she got breakfast. She personally liked the first one better. The young Salvatore heard a sing song voice behind him and glanced at the girl over his shoulder, trying to figure out if she was talking to him. No, she was talking to one of the fish, which caused a small smile to appear on his face before looking back at the stove. She loved her fish, creepy eyes and all, that was for sure. It was cute; most people bought fish, left them in the tank, and fed them every so often. If it died, well it wasn’t that big of a deal. The girl though, she acted as if they were a cat or dog or some other pet that you actually interacted with and Cade got the feeling she’d be deeply upset if one of her fish died. She commented on his accent, which caused his smile to grow slightly. “Thanks,” he said, unsure of what else you could say when someone liked your accent. It’s natural? I was born with it? Except neither of those statements were true. Lord knew where it came for or what it even was. The Italian accent he had grown up with was long gone, tainted and muddied by the other accents he had picked up. And who even knew why he did that? The only reason Cade could think of was that he liked to imitate voices, had quite a knack for it. After living in so many different places and trying to pick up their accents so he wouldn’t stick out like a sore thumb, certain parts of them had just stuck. So if one tried to pinpoint the region of his accent, they’d ultimately fail.
Cade couldn’t help but let out a full laugh when the girl asked if he was eating. Of course he was. He ate like any other young man did. He’d have no problem finishing off a nice sized stack of pancakes. The blonde was just afraid that, even with him eating like it was going out of style and with however much the girl would eat, there’d be too many pancakes. Well, at least she’d have leftovers if she was hungry for pancakes tomorrow. “Of course I’m eating. I just think that there might be too many pancakes here.” Speaking of, there were four more done and put on the plate, another four being started. There was so much batter still! “And sure. Thank ya kindly.” Caden said at the mention of a drink. Cade honestly wasn’t sure why he ate. That question sounded weird out of the context of his mind, but it was true. As a human, of course Cade ate like a growing boy. All humans needed to eat. But after he died and became a guardian angel, he never felt hunger or thirst pains. At first, it didn’t stop him from grabbing a bite to eat, but he eventually stopped that because there was no need to. He’d drink every so often, but that too had no effect on him. And then after becoming a fallen angel, Cade had started to eat again because he felt hungry. It was such an odd sensation because, while he wasn’t in heaven anymore, he was technically the same as before minus wings. You’d think he still wouldn’t feel hungry. He didn’t question it though; he just went along with it.
It was stupid for Caden to just expect her to stay in her bed. Obviously she would’ve gotten up and gone along with her usual morning routine, especially upon finding that he was no longer in her bed. He should’ve left a note or something, like she suggested. Stupid. He didn’t think things through, just wanted to do something sweet and assumed things would go perfectly. Cade didn’t dwell long on that thought. Despite the fact that it was against his nature to be a worrier, the girl didn’t give him much of a chance to; she was already heading back to her room. A smile still on his face, Caden stooped down and grabbed the tray that she had mentioned, placing it on the counter. He quickly made the last couple batches of pancakes, wanting to have all of that finished before he went back to the bedroom. The fallen grabbed two other plates out of the cabinet he had gotten the first from and dug around in the drawers until he found silverware, taking out a knife and a fork for each. Caden quickly placed three pancakes on both plates, unsure of how much the girl would eat. If she wanted more, he could always go back. Setting the syrup on the tray last, Cade inspected it to make sure everything looked fine. He wished he had some sort of fresh flower or something to add decoration onto the tray, though he’d just have to make do with what he already had.
Carefully lifting the tray, Cade made his way back to the bedroom to where he had woken up this morning. He lightly kicked the door open with his foot, a beaming grin on his face. The second his eyes landed on the blonde girl, he remembered her name. Sara. Sweet Sara. How could he forget that? The fallen angel was clearly lacking in the brain department. Still gracefully carrying the tray, Cade lightly made his way over to where Sara was laying and placed the tray down on the end table next to her. “Your breakfast, madam, He said, sounding every bit the fancy waiter. That illusion didn’t last when he came around the other side of the bed and sat down next to Sara.

she answered quietly, though not too quiet to make her father suspicious. "Hey darling." she beamed, hearing her step-mother's words in the background, "Hey, how's it going?" She could hear her step-mom say something in the background before her father answered, "Jasmine and I are heading out to Florida, our old beach house around your spring break, if you'd like to come join us, feel free. Maybe bring someone...?" She could hear it in his voice. The hope that his "beautiful daughter" would find someone. Yeah well, she'd need to find someone who was all right with all her fish. And her tail. Yeah, that wasn't normally something someone would mention on a first date, "Oh yeah, there's another thing you should know about me. I can sense the emotions of fish and I grow a tail when I'm in water." she scoffed slightly, though answered calmly, "We'll have to wait and see, Dad." She then crawled out of bed and into the master bathroom, checking herself in the mirror. She didn't look like too much of a wreck after not really having washed her face the night before. There hadn't been a chance to. Running some water to help wake herself up, Sara then applied some lotion, making sure her skin didn't get too dry, not that the salt water bothered it too much, but either way. Thinking of that, with the salt and such, made her think about margaritas, then leading to drinking. The guy didn't need aspirin? Or just didn't want it? Either way didn't make too much sense, unless he just had a fast metabolism. She did, but that was because of what she was, not because of just...because. Frowning slightly in thought, she re-entered her bedroom and turned off the light to the bathroom. Carefully sliding back into her bed, with both her drink and Cade's on the side of her bed, the blonde then drew up her legs and wrapped her arms around her knees, placing her chin on her arms, eying him curiously when he'd opened the door. She caught a glimpse of her place outside her bedroom as he then entered and the door slid shut slightly behind him. God the pancakes smelled so good. "Can't remember the last time I had pancakes..." she mused, putting a light smile onto her face, "Thank you.." she added, her manners always in play. Manners weren't overrated she thought, she personally liked them, kept her looking - more formal. Yes, plus, she'd just been raised to be polite. Sweet, came with just being her. Sweet, just like she thought Cade to be. He'd made so many pancakes too, and she sometimes ate a lot. This morning would probably be one of those times. Plus she was impressed how quiet he had managed to stay while he did this, and she had always been a pretty light sleeper too. As he approached her, it sent weird chills, or shivers down her spine, as she nervously toyed with her hair, but she smiled lightly nevertheless when he spoke, putting on the whole act quite well. Maybe he was an actor. Or something, he had the whole voice stuff down fairly well, and the only thing she could do with her voice was act and sing. She just sometimes wondered if singing came because she was a mermaid, but she could sing well before she realized it, so she figured not. Tilting her head slightly, she mused, "They look wonderful." she handed him one of the plates with three pancakes on it, before getting her own, and offering him the syrup first, crawling fully onto her bed, and crossed her legs on it, grinning lightly to herself, feeling like she'd had a slumber party with Cade, and nothing had happened. Cutting off a piece of a pancake with some syrup on it, she tried it. They were pretty darn good if she said so herself, and she made some decent pancakes too - with bought batter though. Smiling lightly at how good it was, she practically inhaled one pancake and spoke, "They live up to their looks..." she flashed a weak grin towards him, it felt, as if both of them were delaying what both of them wanted to talk about. Instead, they settled on bland, light conversation. Sara didn't mind it, no. But she was curious on getting to know the man who had stayed to make her breakfast, Caden. After all, she would want to pay him back somehow for making breakfast, especially this good. Pausing as she half-finished her second one, the mermaid inquired softly, "Do you mind if I ask where you learned to cook? Or just...something you learned over the years?" Way to go Sara, she thought to herself. Way to be a good conversation starter. Caden was glad that he made something that Sara appreciated. It would’ve been horrible had she been allergic to something in the pancakes or flat out hated that certain breakfast food. Though Cade felt as if she were much too polite to throw a fuss if she didn’t like pancakes. Sara – as far as Cade could tell because he couldn’t remember much from last night and had only briefly talked to her this morning – believed she was a sweet girl. It was a weird notion, sitting in a bed with someone you hardly knew. Sure, it wasn’t something the fallen angel wasn’t used to, but this time just felt different. He figured that it was probably because he had gotten as close to being drunk as he could while other one night stands had been while he was sober. When he woke up, at least he remembered the girl’s name and what they had talked about done the night before. Not to say this one was any less simply because he couldn’t remember. It was actually kind of refreshing, having a break from monotony. He was always one who appreciated a challenge and not remembering anything except this morning certainly classified the situation as one.
He couldn’t help but give Sara a huge grin as she complimented his pancakes. She was going to give him a big head if she weren’t careful; Caden was always one who was quick to accept praise. He accepted the plate that Sara handed to him along with the syrup, quickly using it so he could pass it back to her. The blonde didn’t touch his pancakes at first, though, preferring to watch Sara enjoy them. “I’m glad you like them. I can go grab you some more then if you need it,” Cade offered, not wanting to make her feel as if he were pushing more pancakes on her in case she didn’t want them. But if she did, he wasn’t going to let her get up and get them herself. It was breakfast in bed, which meant that Sara had to stay in bed for it to work. Since she had already woken up and gotten out of it once, it only made Cade more adamant about the fact. Finally, he decided to try his own creation, cutting a careful bite and chewing it. The pancakes certainly weren’t his best; he typically liked to add different ingredients, try different combinations. In his opinion, this batch of pancakes were just kind of bland. At least Sara thought they were good. “If you think these are good, you’ll have to try my apple cinnamon ones.” That was by far his favorite recipe and had Cade had more time, he would’ve tried to make those instead. But it would’ve taken him awhile to try to find the ingredients in Sara’s kitchen. It took long enough to find the stuff for just basic pancakes.
“My mamma taught me how to cook. She was quite the chef.” Caden smiled fondly at the memory of the woman who had given him life. The word “mamma” came out with an Italian pronunciation, which sounded very different from the typical American articulation. When he referred to his mother, Cade always slipped back into his original Italian tongue, always calling her “mamma” or “madre”. That’s how he known her as he was growing up and that was how she stayed in his mind. It was the same with his father, his sisters, and any other family member. Always used their Italian words and not English. Regardless, Cade’s mom had taught him how to cook. She had taught all three of her kids. At the time, all proper girls who wanted to get married to a good husband knew how to cook and it was only natural for them to learn. Mrs. Salvatore thought that it’d be good for her son to learn as well, hoping it’d make him seem like a more eligible man. The Salvatore name hadn’t been very prominent at the time; just an average family. She had hoped that Cade would be given an edge.
The young man had hated it, hated being taught such a girly trade when all of his other friends were out playing and getting messy and being typical boys. He fought the whole learning process every way. Still, his mom had been one stubborn lady and wouldn’t let him get away without learning the basics. After Cade died, as cheesy and cliché as it was, he realized how much he loved and appreciated his family and how much he missed them. It was after the blonde became a fallen angel that he started getting more interested in cooking. It made him feel closer to his mother, every time he cooked something new and perfected it. In his mind, it was a way of staying close to her and making her proud. “What about you. Do you cook? Or what else do you enjoy?” Cade asked, wanting to know more about this otherwise mysterious blonde girl with dazzling green eyes and a smile to match.

she thought solemnly to herself, eying her Nikon camera over on her dresser for a moment, absent-mindedly as she chewed on the last piece of the second pancake that had been on her plate. She offered him his glass, silently gesturing he could just keep it on the bed with them if he liked. At his comment, Sara arched an eyebrow curiously and inquired after swallowing a piece, "Does that mean if I try to get up and grab another piece...I may need to fight to get up?" she smiled lightly, unable to help herself. "I may take you up on that." She nibbled on another piece quietly, before perking at his suggestion of trying his apple cinnamon ones. Her eyes widened at that idea. Apple cinnamon pancakes, her step-mother used to make those. Beaming, Sara mused, "I'd love to try those sometime." It was true, and besides, Sara hated to lie. Lying just got one into problems, had to keep the lies straight and if you didn't, bad things could happen. It made her think of her parents, and how though Kyle knew what Veronica, her mother was, he still accepted her - she was the one who had left them. Sara didn't know why, Kyle had never told her, but she was determined to. A hand quietly fell on the three-pearl necklace on her right, with Cade on her left, as she thought about the photos she had of her mother, when she had been a baby. Eying them, one that was on the dresser on her bedside, Sara remained silent, though focused on Cade's wonderful breakfast pancakes. "Ever had brinner?" she smiled softly, poking the last pancake with her fork, reason was unknown to her, she just did it. Ah, his mother, that would explain it. Nodding in acknowledgment, Sara spoke softly, looking down to her plate, "Are you close to her....your mother?" As if it may or may not be a tender spot for him, she didn't want to force Caden to answer something he may not want to. After all, she was sure he may ask her something she'd be uncomfortable asking. "Is she Italian?" She smiled softly, having recognized that accent quite easily, with one of her cousins living in Italy, they called her sometimes, just to say hi and such. Speaking of weird questions. His one made her pause for a moment and think. What could she tell him? Yeah, I have a fish fetish...sort of as you probably could tell. Why? Oh, I can control your emotions when I sing, and I grow a tail... Psh, yeah right. Sara finished off the third pancake, and sighed softly, before answering as she set her empty plate down on the bedside table, and offered to take Cade's if he was done, the blonde answered, laughing softly, eying the blonde next to her, "I can cook some stuff...having a recipe is always the best for me." she smiled, folding up her legs neatly in Indian-style. "I...I swim a lot...I love the water, so it goes with my major...Marine Biology." she grinned fondly, eying Cade, "Ummm...I sing, dance and act...well, more of singing here in my free-time and in school, since there isn't much need for an actress around here." She toyed with a piece of her hair that had fallen from the rubber band she'd used to tie most of it back and out of her face, before she inquired, "What about you, Cade?" She tested his name, she liked how it sounded. Exotic, mysterious, different. Kept her intrigued, while her name was just, Sara. Plain, though she mildly liked it. Grinning softly, she eyed him, "Any hobbies besides cooking wonderful pancakes, and I'm sure apple cinnamon ones as well?" [/BLOCKQUOTE][/BLOCKQUOTE][/ul] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TAG icy! Sara definitely had a gorgeous smile, one that could light up rooms and break the hearts of guys she decided to show it to. Cade always wondered if people who had smiles like that, the kind that were lovingly described in music or poems or stories, ever actually realized it. If they realized those smiles could be weapons if they felt like it. Or if they just went along assuming that their smiles were normal, nothing special. The ones who knew were most likely vain and over used the smile. But seemingly unassuming girls like Sara? That only made their smile a hundred times better. He took his glass from Sara with an appreciative nod, holding it while carefully balancing his almost empty plate on his crossed leg. “Of course it does,” Cade said with a teasing tone in his voice. “If you try, I will pick you up and personally set you back in your bed.” Despite the light tone Cade used, he was completely serious. He wouldn’t hesitate to throw her over his shoulder and bring her back. This was going to be breakfast in bed, whether she liked it or not. He was dead set on the fact.
He silently watched as Sara touched a necklace and looked at something on the night stand by the bed. It would be lying to say that he wasn’t curious of what it was about, but he didn’t ask. Caden had been on this earth of a long time and he realized that when you wanted something, you never pushed. It only made other people more defensive, more likely to shut you out. Instead, you went along with what they wanted until they were comfortable enough to tell what had ever been on their mind. “I’ll make them for you,” he said instead, referring to the apple cinnamon pancakes. Because Cade had already decided that, as long as it was okay with Sara, he wanted to see her again. There was something different about this, and it was more than just the fact that he couldn’t remember anything about last night. While Caden was always a gentleman – never coerced girls into something they didn’t want to do, never slunk out at the brink of dawn – he rarely ever saw the girls again after. It was typically a mutual thing. While they might’ve enjoyed themselves, the girl always seemed a slight bit embarrassed about what had gone down and since they were almost always human, it was better for him to not get attached. He was assuming that Sara was a human as well because nothing else had proved otherwise, and he was already thinking that it was a bad idea to drag this out. The fallen angel shoved that thought away and instead focused on how happy he was right now. That was why he wanted to see her again.
Cade felt a smile grow on his face at the word ‘brinner’. He could guess what it meant – breakfast for dinner – but he had never heard it called that. It seemed to be an American thing, shortening words or combining them to make things quicker to say. He would’ve just said breakfast for dinner. “I have,” he said, responding to her question. Never as a human; his mom wouldn’t allow it. She made it clear that there were certain foods for breakfast, certain foods for lunch, and certain food for dinner. There was no overlap. She was also a woman who hated leftovers, believing that there should be a fresh cooked meal every day. It wasn’t until Caden had become a fallen angel that he had gotten to experience the joy of having breakfast for dinner. It was typically easy to cook.
The mention of his mother caused the blonde to pause for a moment before answering. “Yeah, I was close to her.”His family had been one of those close knit ones. Mr. and Mrs. Salvatore were madly in love, even after years of marriage, and hardly fought. He and his sisters got along, each of their personalities being different enough that they never really annoyed one another. Sometimes he hated having outlived them all and knowing that, if on the off chance he did die, he’d never see them again. “ She was all Italian. Extremely stubborn and outspoken; she knew exactly what she wanted. But she was also a very loving and kind woman.” One of his sisters, Scarlett, had turned out exactly like her. She had almost been a mini copy. Now they got in fights more often than not, mostly because they were both very strong willed and too much alike. Thinking about his deceased family started to put Cade in a depressed mood and he was thankful when Sara changed the subject. “I could tell you liked fish,” Cade said with a grin, making a vague waving motion out towards the rest of Sara’s apartment. As he did so though, he hit the glass that was in his other hand, spilling the contents all over his white shirt. “Dammit,” he muttered, even though he had been taught to never swear in front of a lady.

Her green eyes gleamed playfully. So he had a sense of humor. It's too good to be true, is it? After all, he was just a human, as far as she could tell. He wasn't a vampire, that was for sure - she hadn't seen fangs - yet - plus he was eating human food, last she had heard vampires didn't ever really eat human food without it being slathered in human blood. Taking her mind away from that train of thought, Sara refocused it solely on Cade. Yes, he had one of those accents where if he used it, he could get any girl he wanted, which made her think, just how many girls had ended up like her? Did he always go and make them breakfast in bed? For some reason, she didn't think so - or just didn't want to think so. She perked. He was planning on making them for her? For some reason, that really got her happy. She gets to see him again! Her thoughts coiled around that single idea, and Sara clung to it like her life depended on it. Cade had stuck around, and she was really thrilled that he had. Maybe...maybe there was something here. She really hoped so. "Wonderful, you can use my kitchen if you'd like." She offered. Not that she was implying anything, and she was sure her voice conveyed that. It would just be a place he could cook, "Or your place...if you'd be more comfortable there...even if you did find all the things to make pancakes here." she smiled, mentally going through all the things to make such wonderful pancakes. So, she had this figured out. This guy had an accent, was so very handsome, he cooked, he stuck around after a "one-night" fling, he was funny, sweet and playful. Personally she doubted this to an extent, but as she looked at him, her eyes latching onto his calmly, her heart smacked her irrational flailing in her mind. It was genuine. She really hoped it was. Brinner, maybe she could actually make him something sometime. She'd been told she could make a mean casserole, depending on what it was of course. Sara just probably needed to learn to cook some more things, who knew, maybe Cade would know some things and would be willing to teach her some tricks of the trade. Only if he wanted. "Maybe...we can make that...sometime." Sara spoke, basically inviting him for an actual date, to make something - brinner together. A grin plastered itself over her lips before she could stop it, feeling like a child from smiling so much. She didn't care, she was really, genuinely happy and this feeling was slightly unknown to her, feeling this happy with just one thing - Caden - around to give her this rush. Her keen ears sensed the past tense in Cade's voice and words. Was this and that? What had happened to her? Sara wanted to know, god she did, but she wouldn't push him. After all it wasn't her place to push, like she wouldn't want him to push to know about her mother who had only been in her life a few times, probably because she'd been so young when she and Sara's father had had her. Well, Kyle her father made it work, and look how they turned out, just fine! Sara had the houseboat which she used a lot on the weekends to go swimming with the fish and such, and that just gave her a better excuse to be out on the water a lot. A soft blush painted itself onto her cheeks and she answered, "Seems like....she was a wonderful person." she grinned weakly, reassuringly, before blushing when he mentioned all her fish, she looked down to her legs, "Yeah...I have a thing for the water." That's all she'd say. Suddenly, Cade knocked over his water glass, which was - unfortunately - pretty darn full. Sara jumped up with lightning-fast reflexes, but she was too late. The soft tingle appeared up her legs, and she inhaled sharply, though not from his cursing, but from the realization, she couldn't transform right in front of him. Eying his shirt, she spoke rapidly, jumping up and scrambling, tripping over her own two feet on the floor, "There's towels in the side closet right there." she gestured to another partial closet where she kept her towels, as she jumped towards the bathroom. Her goal was to get there. She didn't make it. Sara collapsed onto the floor, enough water had hit her legs. It just happened. Horrified, she collapsed and rolled onto her side, grinding her teeth, as if trying to fight it off. She shook her head, and felt her legs go numb, binding themselves together. The blonde glanced back just slightly to see Cade's reaction, like she was having a mental breakdown or something. Sara yelped when suddenly, the always unusual sensation vanished within a few moments. The water on her legs was there, but it wasn't on skin anymore. Instead, there was scales, and where her toes should have been, they'd stretched and given way to a large fin at the end of the tail. Her shorts had been torn into a skirt, and the mermaid looked up silently towards Cade's area, where he should be in complete shock. She'd changed while Cade was still here. Sitting on the ground, with her tail sitting there, the muscles having finished configuring themselves, she swallowed silently, though she had a feeling Cade - human or not - would be able to hear her heart beating through her chest, trying to break free. Oh my god, she thought. This couldn't be happening, not now. Supporting herself with her hands, Sara opened her mouth, as if to speak, though her voice failed her for the moment. Looking down to her tail, and flexing it, allowing feeling to surge through her scales, she spoke softly, whispering, "I...." she couldn't bring herself to say it, she just reached for a blanket on her bed, aiming to use it to dry herself off, which would then, after a few moments or so, would allow her legs to return. Either way, the damage was done. [/BLOCKQUOTE][/BLOCKQUOTE][/ul] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TAG icy! WORDS!? enough <3 MUSE!? awesome! He was glad that Sara wasn’t overly stubborn – he’d grown up with two women who were exactly like that and was tired of it. Not to say that he though people should just listen to him all of the time, though it would be nice. Cade just liked that he wouldn’t have to argue over everything with Sara, would be able to just do something nice for her without fighting every step of the way. “I’m very serious,” he agreed, the tone of voice matching his facial expression. Which quickly cracked into a smile. While Caden had meant that he certainly would have no qualms about carrying Sara back to bed, he couldn’t keep a serious expression his face. It just wasn’t something he was very good at. The fallen angel was excited about the prospect of having another date – if this could be counted as first, albeit, a crappy one. “You’re kitchen is fine,” Cade assured Sara, finding that he didn’t want to invite Sara back to his apartment. It was nothing against her; his apartment just wasn’t in the best part of town and he didn’t want to drag her anywhere unsafe. And, compared to Sara’s apartment, his was a rundown little shack. To be completely honest, he hated cooking in his kitchen, simply because it was so small. “She was a wonderful lady,” Cade agreed, meaning it completely. And while he missed her terribly, it was nice to think that she had lived a full life, one that was happy as long as you erased the part where she had lost her only son. Last time he had checked on his nieces and nephews and their kids – because he liked to keep tabs on his extended family, even though they didn’t know he existed – he had seen a lot of his mother’s spirit in them. Two of the little girls, twins, were spitting images of her with the fair blonde hair and skin that came from northern Italy.
And then Cade wasn’t entirely sure what had happened next. One moment he was worrying about making sure he hadn’t spilled water on Sara’s bed and the next she was up and scrambling towards something, tripping over her own legs. Hadn’t she just said she loved water? And here she was trying to get away from a couple of drops. “Hey, are you ok?” He asked, unable to really see anything other than Sara’s head from where he was sitting on the bed. The blonde got up and walked around the bed. As he got closer, he saw the tips of fins sticking out and then eventually the whole tail. He let out a short whistle of surprise at the sight of it. So she was a mermaid. All the fish would make sense then and how she treated them. Sara liking to sing and wanting to be a marine biologist fit too. And definitely her clambering off the bed so quickly. Maybe if he hadn’t been so distracted, Cade would’ve been able to put the little hints together and come to the conclusion himself instead of something drastic happening. He came around to where Sara was laying on the floor, carefully avoiding her suddenly scaly bottom half and squatted next to her. He checked over her quickly, making sure she hadn’t hurt anything in her fall. Deciding she looked okay, he scooped her up into his arms and stood carefully, making sure to stay balanced so he wouldn’t drop her and hurt both of them. Once he was stable, Cade made a couple of steps until he was closer to the bed and set her down where she had been sitting before.
Then he went over to the closet where Sara had mentioned that there were towels before. Grabbing a couple, he came back over to the bed and handed them silently to her. He had dealt with enough mermaids to know that they only needed to try themselves off to get the tail to go away. As shocking as the whole ordeal was, her tail really was beautiful. All sorts of blues like when the sun hit the ocean just right, the fin containing a slight splash of purple. “Well this is awkward, huh?” Caden stayed standing on her side of the bed, hand rubbing the back of his neck. “I’m going to give you a few minutes,” he said, pointing to the door and then walking out, closing it mostly behind him. The fallen was sure Sara would want a few minutes to compose herself after that whole ordeal, and possibly change, seeing as how her shorts were now ripped. She was probably freaked out right now, as horrified of the transforming randomly as she was of thinking that it had happened in front of a human. Cade wasn’t a human, hadn’t been for a long time, and the world of the supernatural was nothing new to him. The question though, was would he tell Sara that? Because while he wasn’t bothered by all of it, he hated telling others what he was.
They always had assumptions about fallen angels. ‘Oh, they must be horrid creatures. They had gotten kicked out of heaven for some reason.’ He’d heard it so many times before and had so many people who did not want to associate with him because of it. He hadn’t done anything evil to get the boot from the clouds. Cade was stupid. That was what had gotten him kicked out of heaven, not some wicked and malevolent misdeed. He was stupid and in love, had turned his back on heaven for the sake of a single girl that he thought his world revolved around. A picture of Maggie appeared before his closed eyes. It was the same image Caden got every single time he thought of her; bright orange hair shining in the sun, green eyes (that weren’t as pretty as Sara’s, he noted) dancing, light freckles splayed across a porcelain face. She wasn’t worth it, and Cade had figured it out eventually, but he was much too late by that point. And even though that was his mistake, few people knew that that was the reason, simply because they looked down on him and judged him much to quick. He sighed and rested his head against the wall, waiting for Sara to call him back in.

mad at herself, for letting it happen. Either way it did though, and she couldn't do anything about it. Cade could see her tail now, and as she drew her scaly bottom half up, like she'd been sitting down on the bed when Cade had entered, she looked up silently when he approached her and crouched down next to her. Her voice failed, and Sara spoke quietly, shaking her head, feeling a few tears streak down her cheeks, "I...I suppose." her voice was weak, but still there thankfully. Surprise melted through her when he suddenly picked her up. Clinging to him in mild surprise - she hated when she got picked up, at least in her mermaid form. It would have been better with the fins, but nonetheless, it couldn't be helped. Thankful, Sara looked up to him when she was able to sit back down on her bed, and she adjusted herself, before looking to Cade quietly and spoke, tucking some hair shyly behind her ear, "T-thank you..." At least when water did touch her hands, it didn't turn her, it was just her hips or lower when it happened, which always meant no water parks for her, or public swimming pools. Hell, she didn't even think about visiting them, since she could get splashed and turn into this right there where everyone could see her. So usually the ocean was her best choice, besides her bathtub. Sara fell silent though, realizing Caden hadn't spoken since it sprouted, besides to see if she was okay. How sweet, she thought silently to herself. As he handed her a towel, she smiled weakly and in a silent thanks. Eying him as she draped it over herself, she paused, hearing him speak, and rub the back of his neck. Adorable. Awkward, but adorable. Unable to hide a light smile, Sara nodded quietly as he then exited the door. So far, looks like she'd revealed her tail to a human. Unless he wasn't running away right now and leaving her here, wondering if he was going to tell anyone. That made sense, he wasn't physically freaking out, just mentally, so now he was probably running to tell the cops there was a mermaid in the apartment. Yeah, that wouldn't get her put into a lab or anything till the day she died. Swallowing that away, he'd said he'd just give her a few, the blonde then ran the towel down her fin, allowing the shine on her fin to appear and stay there, even with her wiping the towel along it. Sighing softly, she could feel just everything in her tail, though sometimes her father hadn't believed that when she was younger, she did, it was just like her legs, but pretty much all muscle, which meant her tail went backwards, unlike what knees could do. Soon, the fin minimized and shrunk so that her toes soon re-appeared. It split down the middle, allowing her two legs to appear once more as well. Once that happened, she slid off the now new skirt, eyed it and tossed it in the trash, knowing she wouldn't want to wear that again. Shame. Sara then grabbed a pair of sweat knee-length shorts and slid them on over her underwear. A pair of keen eyes checked over, making sure her black pants at least matched the light pink tank she was wearing. Taking her hair out, allowing the soft touseled locks to fall below her shoulders, she heard something hit the wall - ever so softly. Tossing the towel aside, thinner fingers pulled open the door a crack and poked her head around the corner to notice Cade there. Hesitating, she then reached out and wrapped her fingers gently around his own fingers, giving them a gentle squeeze, as if attempting to reassure him. She was, and wanted to. Sara hated the thought of Cade being sad, and she noticed some of her fish looking their way too, towards the movement. Shooting them a look, Sara quickly returned her attention to Cade, a gentle look falling along her features, "Are you okay? Have...you met someone like me...before?" Concern fell along her features, wanting to be sure he was completely all right. "It's....I was thinking about telling you but..." a smile twitched on the right side of her lips, as she added, "It isn't something...I tend to say on...the first few dates." Or what-ever they wanted to call this. Maybe a failed attempt at a date. That seemed better. Sara's hand moved, bringing Cade closer, though not too close, as she wanted to be sure he was all right first. She was just fine - mostly. But her secret would depend on him now, depend on if he would tell anyone. "Please, I ask...don't tell anyone, Cade." she spoke, feeling her mermaid voice start to sink in. Swallowing it back, Sara tilted her head gently, before adding, soon releasing his fingers, not wanting to make him uncomfortable, "Maybe...we should just get ready. Maybe..." she paused, green eyes flicking away from the handsome guy in front of her, before back to him and she added, "Maybe go out...and about...? There's a street...festival. I just...don't want to hold you from any plans you may have had...today." Though really, she certainly wouldn't mind spending time with Cade, get to know him better, properly. "We can talk...about..." she paused slightly then added, her voice soft, "This." It was true, not only about her mermaid-ness, but them as well. They'd already established at least another date or two, so she figured then, as she allowed her voice to let Cade think what-ever "this" meant, she meant just...her secret, and what they would be, she did certainly hope she got to have another few dates, Cade was intriguing, and she knew there was so much more to him. The fallen angel hoped Sara wasn’t in there worrying herself over this whole ordeal. It honestly wasn’t one of the worst things he’d seen since entering the world of the supernatural. He had already witnessed a vampire going insane from bloodlust, had been there when a wolf transformed on the full moon and gone after campers, when a faerie had done something unspeakable to a human. Those were the darker things that belonged to this world. And then there were beautiful things, like an angel’s selfless devotion to human kind, Immortals who had spent so many years learning so they could make the world a better place. A mermaid transforming, trading its human legs for a tail, was one of those beautiful things. Cade had watched met a group of mermaids who loved to swim off the coast of Japan. Watching them gracefully cut through the water had been amazing and had made Cade wish that he had their elegance and skill. Sara had absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. In fact, she should be proud. And if humans weren’t so closed minded, thinking that there was nothing out there other than themselves, he’d say it was something she should tell everyone. But it was much too dangerous for that, with humans thinking that things that were different had to be freaks of nature and needed to be tested upon. If they were just open to things, if they could just believe that they didn’t know everything, then there’d be no point in this war. The number of humans easily outnumbered those of the supernatural. If they banded together with the group of supernatural who were perfectly fine with living in the world as it was, there’d be no chance for the opposition.
But the world didn’t work that way. And it was much too complicated for Cade to even be worrying about right now, when he had this problem to face right now. He was preparing himself for when Sara asked why he hadn’t had a small breakdown back there when she grew a mermaid tail. That was the only positive; it was almost impossible to tell the difference between a fallen angel and a human. There was no quickly recognizable difference; the only one being that the only way Cade could die was if another fallen or a guardian angel decided to kill him. And unless Sara had one of those at her beck and call to come strike him down, she’d still think he was human. Until she asked what Caden was of course, and he had to tell her. Because the blonde didn’t lie if he could help it. Even with humans he tried to be as truthful as possible. There was always the situation here or there where he couldn’t be entirely honest for their sake. If Sara asked, there’d be no way of avoiding it. All he could ask for was that he didn’t get shooed away on the spot, that Sara would at least hear him out.
Cade heard the door open a bit, but didn’t move from his spot on the wall. He waited for the question that didn’t come. It wasn’t until Sara grabbed his hand that he actually glanced back at her. “I should be asking if you are ok,” he said, pushing all trace of his previous worry over his fallen angel status off of his face and out of his stature. Again, the blonde looked her up and down, trying to find any obvious bruises or cuts she might’ve gotten from when she fell. And he was still worried about her mental state as well. He hoped to the high heaven (though he didn’t have the right of asking them favors) that she wasn’t being hard on herself for being a mermaid or for changing in front of him. For Christ’s sake, it was just what Sara was. In the second statement, Sara had given Cade a way out. Had asked if he’d met a mermaid before and not what he was. He would be a coward for taking it, and a coward Cade so obviously was. “Yeah, I’ve met some other mermaids,” Caden replied, choosing to ignore the chance he could’ve taken to tell her how he already knew about mermaids. He had met them before; that wasn’t a lie. But it still wasn’t the whole truth and Cade knew that’d play on his conscious.
Really, the young man was being downright selfish. He didn’t want to tell her because he was afraid Sara would not want to see him anymore. And despite the fact that they had only known each other for a couple of hours – during most of which neither could remember – he didn’t want to risk that. At least not yet. Let Sara find something else about him that she couldn’t stand and have that be the reason. “I wouldn’t have expected you to tell me anything,” Cade assured her, trying to let her know none of this was her fault in the least sense. Sara had the right to tell whomever she wanted about her tail, which meant she could exclude certain individuals. And a guy she had met at a club the night before and slept with certainly fell in that exclusion category, because how could she know if he was someone trustworthy? So she shouldn’t feel guilty about it, because anyone else in her place would’ve done the same exact thing.
“I wouldn’t dream of telling anyone. Ever.” Caden stared Sara in the eyes, green meeting blue, to try to convey the strength of his conviction. He didn’t run around telling people about all the supernatural; he was one of them. And almost all of his friends were. People he loved with all his being. Cade would lay himself down on the line before even thinking about telling their secrets. The blonde stayed somber. Sara had to realize how serious he was, because she would be safe with him and she wanted her to feel that way. He finally let a small smile on his face when Sara mentioned the street festival and about the possibility of them going. “That sounds like a lovely option. I don’t have anywhere else to be. We can go as soon as you’re ready.” He wasn’t sure if Sara was one of those girls who’d need to spend forever and a half to get ready, because it all depended on her right now. As far as Cade was concerned, he was good to go, wet shirt and all. It’d dry eventually. Besides, it wasn’t even bothering him anymore, not with the prospect of taking Sara on a proper date. Because that’s what he was going to classify it as.

sleep together. Not the other way around. But hey, she didn't mind going against the flow once in awhile, but from personal experience, it was just hard work. Hopefully they wouldn't be hard work, it just seemed really natural though. Eying his shirt for a moment, she tugged on it slightly to pull it off of his skin to keep him from getting chilled, "You can use my hairdryer if you'd like for that spot...or the dryer." she gestured towards her laundry section of the apartment, the smaller room across the way from her bedroom. Hearing him speak, she shook her head and replied weakly, "I'm all right...really." she held up her hands and stuff, showing him there were no marks. Physically she was fine, and with Cade still here, seeming to be all right with everything was keeping her mental state tranquil as well. So, he had met other mermaids. Maybe he even knew of someone who knew of her mother, that would be something. Wouldn't be her luck though. Her luck was decent she liked to think, though not all that good sometimes. Thinking of that connection, Sara then pushed it aside, there were bigger fish to fry - metaphorically speaking, though she never ate seafood or meats, she did drink milk and ate eggs, just not meats, maybe it was probably because she saw a lot of the stuff people ate swimming in its natural habitat a lot. "Then...are you..." she paused, "Like me...? Different...?" There, that seemed like a good way to put it. Whether or not Cade was, she didn't care. She didn't care if he could turn his skin green, it still wouldn't change what she thought about him. What she knew about him so far, she knew she'd like him - and definitely not just as a friend as well. Her eyes fell at his comment. He seemed too perfect, she felt like she really didn't deserve to be able to get to know him. Sara hesitated slightly before pursuing anything else with her mind, before she then looked up to Cade, realizing how taller he was than her. She was only about 5'7" or so, but she figured he was about 6-foot give or take - without shoes on. And tall...she added that to the growing list. He was just so charming, Sara would have easily talked to him if he had approached her anywhere. She placed a hand gently on his arm as he promised her - well, basically - he wouldn't tell anyone. "Thank you." She meant it too. If Cade told anyone, she figured they'd easily believe him and then spend their time trying to get her to transform. She just hoped that never happened. No, it wouldn't. Their eyes met and she noticed just how blue his eyes actually were. They were so gorgeous, like the ocean when she saw it on the early Saturday mornings before she went swimming all day, and diving down most likely deep enough to visit the nearby mermaid town or something as well. Seeing his smile then brought her out of her musings, and the mermaid smiled softly. Wonderful. Hearing his comment about when she'd be ready, she gave him a light grin, "It won't take me too long." Besides she'd just washed her hair last night before she'd gone out to that party. So it looked just fine today. Her hand dropped from his arm and she spoke, "TV if you'd like." she offered, silently tell him to make himself at home. The blonde then turned on her heel back to her bedroom, closing the door - most of the way - behind her. Well, just a tiny crack, but she didn't realize it as she headed to her closet to sort through it. She grabbed a denim jacket - since it was getting warmer out now - as well as a pair of slightly ripped up jeans, slid them on then her striped shirt with the slight scoop neck. Practically jumping into her jeans and figuring out the types of shoes she'd want to wear - landing on boots, she pulled those on as she headed to the bathroom, not wanting to take up too much time. She'd gotten dressed pretty fast, as she left her jacket on her un-made bed, she'd need to fix that, Sara headed into the bathroom, running a brush properly through her blonde hair as she tossed her bed together, brushing her teeth while she did so as well. Once back in the bathroom, she checked some make-up, then pulled her chapstick out of her pocket. She wore gloss sometimes, but chap-stick was usually her best friend during and slightly after winter-time. Once she had that on, and checked herself in the mirror, she left her denim jacket and instead just went for a warmer coat - which would be out in the closet in the entry way. Noticing both her jacket and Cade's from last night, she tucked some of her wavy hair behind her shoulders as she approached him with the jacket, after having set their plates in the sink, eying the pancakes, she'd take care of those. Offering him his jacket while she managed to slide hers on, Sara grinned weakly, tucking her keys into her pocket for the moment, eying him, "Good to go then?" The mermaid then headed outside her apartment with him and then locked it up once they were outside, she tucked her keys away and looked to the blonde guy with her quietly, wondering if any of her neighbors had seen her come home with him last night. She didn't care, her attention and mind was only wrapped around Cade right now. They got onto the ground level from her sixth floor apartment and headed outside into the nice sunshine. She loved the sunshine, today was going to be a wonderful day from the start, and Cade made it the best day. Sara looked to him gently, green eyes looking for his blue ones calmly, "So how long have you been here...?" There, get to know him. All Sara knew, was that she wanted to spend as much time with him as she could. [/BLOCKQUOTE][/BLOCKQUOTE][/ul] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TAG icy! He could visibly see a difference in Sara as she realized that he was truly okay with the mermaid. That made Cade feel so much better about everything. He wanted her to be relaxed and have a good time. Because if Cade only stressed her out, then neither of them would enjoy the other’s company. If that were the case, then he wouldn’t hesitate to leave, wanting Sara to feel as comfortable as possible, whether or not it was against his own wishes. Cade was one of those people who always put others before himself, their wants and needs being more important than his own. And then she sighed, which made Caden think that she was unhappy. He studied her face, trying to figure out what had made her upset. Maybe if he knew her better, it’d be easier to figure it out. But they had kind of skipped that step. And it typically wasn’t that much of a bother to the blonde; as bad as it sounded, he didn’t expect to get to know them. The whole point had always been to just have fun for a night, experience a somewhat awkward moment in the morning, and that was it. There was no need to go any further than that. He didn’t want that extremely short term relation with Sara; he actually wanted to know what exactly made her tick. It was so strong of a feeling that it surprised him.
The blonde had actually forgot that his shirt was wet; he was much too distracted by everything else going on. He was about to say that he’d go put it in the dryer because that would obviously be the quicker approach. But then it would mean that he’d have to take his shirt off, which was just too much of a risk for him. “The hair dryer will work, if it’s not too much of a pain,” Cade asked. Because if it was, then he’d just suck it up and use the dryer and he’d be careful about his back. He couldn’t help but smile when Sara felt the need to show that she was perfectly okay. Was he really that annoying? He guessed he really shouldn’t keep asking, but Caden felt like he had to. He didn’t mean to be such a worrywart. Which was a new sensation for the fallen angel, who never worried about anything. He always pushed thoughts like that away, wanting to keep a smile on his face whenever possible, because fretting about things only brought you down. And here he was, fussing over Sara. If that didn’t drive her insane, then she truly had the heart and the patience of a saint.
Again, Sara gave Cade another option; tell her, or don’t. He thought he was almost trapped, when she had started the sentence, by asking ‘are you’. If she flat out asked him, there’d be absolutely no way to dodge out of it. But she kept veering off, adding little words that meant she was indirectly asking and therefore, Cade could avoid a straight answer. Even this, the whole evasive thing, he was feeling bad about. It wasn’t like Caden planned on doing this forever; it was just temporary. He was hoping that Sara would get to know him first, get to know the person he really was, before he told her what he was. Then maybe it wouldn’t be such a big deal, because Sara could see that he wasn’t too horrible of a guy. “I’m not a merman,” he said, figuring it was the only way he could reply while being entirely truthful. As he said the word though, Caden smiled and laughed slightly. It wasn’t at her, though. The whole notion just seemed ridiculous, but he did know that they existed. What he guessed was so funny was picturing himself with a tail. Sara’s was amazing beautiful, and something like that didn’t belong on him. Not to mention it’d probably make it harder to swim; something Cade already wasn’t very good at. It wasn’t that he didn’t know how to swim. He had the basics down. Survival swimming, as he called it. Caden wouldn’t drown if he were to ever fall off of say, a boat, but he also never went out for the school swim team. Him swimming wasn’t a pretty site, nowhere near as graceful as the mermaids he had seen.
Sara said she wouldn’t take long to get ready and Cade believed her, not taking her as one of the girls who had to look perfect to step out of the house. She was pretty, naturally so. He couldn’t imagine there was much for her to do to make herself look better. The fallen angel waited until Sara had gone back into her room and then headed towards the kitchen. He observed the fish on his way over, still not liking the feeling of their eyes on him. Cade wasn’t sure how Sara dealt with that feeling all the time. Though it probably didn’t bother her that much. Most likely felt natural, being surrounded by fish. It wasn’t for Cade though. Ignoring the weird feeling he got from being in an almost reverse fishbowl, Caden began to clean up the dishes he had used from breakfast, starting with soaking the griddle to get any burnt on spots off. Then he began to wash out the bowl the batter had been mixed it, making it sparkling clean. After that was done, he figured the griddle had soaked long enough and he scraped every last bit of pancake off of it. Caden didn’t get a chance to put the pancakes away before Sara stepped out of her bedroom, taking a lot less time to get ready than Cade had expected.
He accepted his jacket when Sara handed it to him, slipping it on easily. Caden nodded his blond head when she asked if he was ready to go, following her out of the apartment. He met her eyes when she asked him a question and smiled, trying to think of the answer. Honestly, Cade moved around so much that he sometimes forgot when one of his supposed lives started and another one ended. It took him a couple moments, until he finally remembered, it must’ve been a year or two ago. He had tried to push his age back as far as he could this time, so he hopefully wouldn’t have too soon. The fallen had made that mistake last time, claiming he was twenty-four, only finding that he had to move again six years later, when someone asked him, jokingly of course, how he stayed looking so young. He was pretty sure he’d chosen nineteen this time, which would make him twenty-one now, on the verge of his twenty-second birthday. The age he had died and would be permanently frozen at. “Two years,” he finally answered, feeling as though he had taken much too long to actually come to it. “How about you?” Maybe he could distract Sara away from the pause.

her, without panting or gasping for air, and asked if she was okay for goodness sake. Her internal monologue soon slowed to a stop as Cade answered her question about the duration of his time here. It had taken longer than she'd thought for him to answer, but nonetheless, Sara nodded gently in acknowledgment and heard him redirect it back at her. Grinning innocently, she answered, glancing around before back to Cade, "About two months." So he certainly had more experience in this city than she did. But she did know the basic layout, as well as how to get from her apartment to the ocean and the dock where her houseboat was currently located, which wasn't too far from her place, thankfully. Maybe she could show Cade. Maybe, she'd save that bit for later. Good memories on that thing, where she lived for a few years when she was a baby, before she had to start going to school and Kyle moved them back with his parents for awhile when she was in preschool till through elementary school, but Sara hadn't minded, she got to know her grandparents on her father's side very well. Her mother's side, that was a different story. Brushing back some of her hair as they walked together, their paces matching quite easily together, Sara looked to Cade quietly, "Mind if I ask your last name?" she grinned weakly, almost like a child asking for something and hoping they'd get it. Before Caden could answer, Sara mused, "Michaels...very original...Sara Michaels." she smiled lightly at her name. It sounded so - plain compared to Caden...what-ever his last name was. What ever it was she was sure it would be just like his first name...exotic. Though his mother was full Italian, so that had to rub off - easily onto her children. Did anything rub off on Sara from her mother? She figured so, Kyle had brunette hair, Sara had blonde, and from the photos, Veronica had it too. Her hand lifted to brush against the pearls in the necklace she'd had for years, then looked to Cade quietly, "So I guess I can ask you to maybe show me some spots around town? Off the beaten path types, or just fun places in general..." she paused, "Do...you know where the library and the bookstore are?" She grinned shyly, before looking up as they approached the street fair, her fingers casually checked her wallet, she'd just tucked a wallet into her back pocket, not wanting to have to deal with a purse or a clutch right now, so it just made everything ten times easier without one. Plus if they went on the rides she didn't need to worry about losing the blasted thing. "Where did you live before?" she blurted, hardly realizing she'd asked before it hit her own ears. Eyes widened slightly when she realized that, and she held up a hand, and spoke, "Don't answer that..if you don't want to...but...just curious." she sighed, she was nervous. Sara soon kept her mouth shut, letting Cade speak as they fully entered this fun-looking street fair, where she could smell elephant ear treats with cinnamon on them, cotton candy, games and all sorts of fun (usually rigged) little games. Remaining near Cade, she followed him, gesturing silently to tell him he could pick where he'd like to go, she was just fine to see anything and everything with him.
