He didn't deserve Ellie and he knew it. He had taken her for multiple horse back rides on his property, and he noticed his horses took to her pretty well. That was good, last thing he needed was to worry about Ellie getting hurt because two of his five horses were as stubborn as he was, which was a mule. The Immortal peered over to the brunette who was in his house with him, where she frequented when they got time to spend together now a days. He let her bring over Duke when she felt like it, and even let him stay, as his German Shepherd, Sedona didn't seem to mind the other dog too much. He had on a pair of reading glasses, though they were more for decoration than anything, the young man straightened his form from grading over essays and stole a quick kiss from the young woman who was most likely working on something for her archaeology class. A grin melted over his lips, "Sedona, c'mon, want a treat?"
he patted his leg, drawing in the dog before turning back to Ellie and his eyes turned on the flowers he had brought her, though she refused to have them to her house, he understood. Perhaps her mother. He didn't know too much about the woman who Ellie wasn't a fan of, but it wasn't his place. Christian certainly wouldn't push her. Pausing slightly, light eyes watching her from his spot in the kitchen where she was in the dining room, feeling a bit creepy, Christian then grabbed the thing he wanted to present to Ellie for a little gift so to speak. Approaching the table, he closed her book, claiming her attention, eyes locking onto hers, as if daring her to refuse his attention for these few moments. Most likely receiving an insult or two, the young man grinned deviously. Over these past few months, they had gotten much closer, not physically of course - as he was leaving up that part to her, but they had been together for awhile now, things seemed to move smoothly with her, and time seemed to go by easier than when she wasn't around. When she was in class, he often wondered how she was doing, as he couldn't tell when he was around her. Holding the envelope behind his back, the Immortal spoke, "Your summer's coming up, Ellie...have any plans?" he arched an eyebrow curiously, almost trying to get her to make something up on the spot that he knew may or may not be true. Letting her answer, Christian took off the "nerd glasses" he called them and placed them aside, before then revealing the pure white envelope and offering it to the curly-haired goddess and spoke, "Go ahead." he couldn't hide a grin, knowing she would most likely scold him, but they had told Antonia they would, and he didn't see any reason not to. He'd already mentioned it to her boss about this with her degree and such, and so far everything was set to go, but it was up to Ellie if she really wanted to go through with it or not. "I have a good friend to keep an eye on Duke and my pets while we're gone." he reassured her, smiling weakly, slight nervousness settling over his features before he quickly smothered it. Eying Ellie, he still couldn't believe it and he got that grin all guys had, that one that meant they were next to the girl of their dreams and they couldn't believe it. He could vividly remember how they met in the library, then the alley and him walking her home with the festival and lunch the next day. Look where they are now. Christian sat down by Ellie smoothly, blue-green eyes watching her and her aura keenly, ignoring her thoughts as best we could, "You pick when we leave and come back, lovely Ellie." he spoke, adding an adjective in front of her name, a habit he'd picked up over the few months, though he persisted even if she asked him not to, mainly because he believed it, because to him it was true, and so much more. Ellie had never been happier in her life and that was a fact. Some people – the ones who were more pessimistic – would say that it was all the material things that came along with dating Christian. Because it could logically make sense. Ellie was a poor girl and many people just assumed that she was distracted by the fancy and the shiny. But growing up with little had taught her an important lesson; material goods weren’t anything. She appreciated what she had but never felt like she needed more. No, this happiness was a result of Christian and spending so much time around him. It sounded strange, coming from the girl who was always logical and believed the so called “love” in romantic movies and books was a complete exaggeration.
There was no other explanation for how Christian made her feel every time she was around him. If she wanted to be all sappy, Ellie could say that the Immortal was the metaphorical ray of sunshine in her otherwise gray and cloudy life. One of the few bright spots of her whole life. Christian was so special in her eyes, in fact, that she refused to introduce him to her mother, or to keep any visible reminders that they were dating around her house. It wasn’t that Ellie was ashamed of Christian in any shape or form. She’d love to announce to the world that she was dating the most wonderful guy in it. But she didn’t because one of her mom’s favorite pastimes was destroying anything minutely joyful in her daughter’s life.
Which was one of the reasons why Ellie was over at Christian’s house at the moment, bent over one of her textbooks and making carefully written flashcards to review for the final she had coming up in a couple of weeks. She could’ve been at her house doing this because she knew it certainly wasn’t exciting for Christian to watch her do this, but she wanted to be around him. It sounded ridiculous, the brunette knew, but she didn’t like not being around him. There was always some part of her that was completely focused on Christian, whether or not they were in the same place and it just felt wrong to not be near him. She had never told him as much, but figured it couldn’t be too hard to guess with her overly expressive eyes and the fact that Christian could read her thoughts and aura. Even now, Ellie was only partly paying attention to her homework, the rest of her carefully watching what he was doing without trying to stare.
Not staring was hard though, even after having known him for months and his handsome charm still had an effect on her. That wasn’t all that made it hard for Ellie to look away from him. He was too amazing, too perfect and she was afraid that if she took her eye off him or let her attention wander from him – even for a second – then he would disappear. She’d wake up one day and realize that all of this had been a dream. Because Ellie didn’t deserve him in any sense of the word, or the happiness he caused her. That sentiment was constantly nagging at the back of her mind, telling her that this really was too good to last forever and one day it would be gone in a flash. But for now, she tried to ignore it and succeeded most of the time.
She quickly looked away from the young man when she thought he was turning to look at her. Ellie didn’t really want to be caught openly staring, awestruck as if she had just laid eyes on him for the first time. She stubbornly stared at her textbook until Christian walked over and close it. Her brown eyes immediately going Christian’s face. “What do you think you’re doing?” The girl asked, trying to use a stern tone, but the ridiculously large grin on her face ruined any illusion of that.
Truth be told, Ellie wasn’t focusing much on what he was saying to her, her attention trained on Christian’s hands that were behind his back. What exactly was he up to? “Oh, I was planning on doing some research with one of my professors.” Sounded oh so exciting, right? The thing was though, that for Ellie, it was exciting and probably the closest thing she could do to travel or vacation. While she was looking forward to it, she wasn’t going to enjoy the time away from Christian. God, she was turning into a giant mush ball of sappiness.
And then Christian presented the envelope and Ellie wasn’t sure what to think. She froze for a moment or two before reaching out to lightly take the envelope from the Immortal’s hand. Ellie slid a thin finger into the flap of the envelope, carefully opening it as if it was made of some fragile material that would shatter in her hands rather than a paper envelope. Her hands were shaking from excitement and dread as she guessed what was in the envelope. Once it was fully open, Ellie confirmed her guess. She gasped in surprise, her one hand quickly going to cover her mouth while the other still clutched in her hand. “Oh, Christian!” Ellie finally exclaimed once she found her voice. The envelope fell from her hand and she was on her feet, instantly wrapping her arms around Christian’s neck. Ellie pulled Christian as close as she could and then buried her face in his chest. She had never received a surprise like this. “You shouldn’t have.” Her voice was muffled against the fabric of his shirt, but Christian must’ve heard her. And he really shouldn’t have. How was she ever supposed to pay him back?

karma police, arrest this manHE TALKS IN MATHS.HE BUZZES LIKE A FRIDGE.HE'S LIKE A DE-TUNED RADIO.• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Hearing a bit more of her thoughts than he had originally planned on, the Immortal couldn't help but grin at her thoughts on trying not to get caught looking at him. Giving her a light look to tell her he knew, he winked her direction, "Creeping?"
he teased, before tucking away the glasses as he looked over Ellie calmly, like he was checking her over for if she had sustained any wounds since he'd been by her side. That was his number one fear when he wasn't around her, was if she was okay, though her happiness and health were all tied for first place. Christian certainly knew he'd do anything if there was a problem at her college like some idiot with a gun, he wouldn't hesitate to walk past all the cops and the moron with the gun to get to Ellie and be sure that she was safe. At the failed attempt on her stern voice, a playful grin melted over his features like chocolate, "Is that a trick question?" he teased, having gotten the page number before he'd closed it so he could easily return it back to the page she had previously been on. God he loved her smile. Christian had found himself rambling on about Ellie when he was with Caden and Ryden once in awhile. The three of them, immortal together - forever. Christian had met Caden back in the 30s in the Great Depression, and Ryden through Cade, as Ryden was all a Fallen Angel. He just knew that Ellie was too gorgeous to be true, and therefore any time he was around her, he always kept some kind of his attention on her, as if he didn't she'd vanish right before his eyes. "I mean...I was the one to kick you under the table in the first place." he teased, unable to help himself. Ellie made him happier than he could ever imagine possible. He had imagined himself being happy one day, that Antonia might finally be able to break the spell around him and cause him to become mortal, to be able to age normally and die when his body then turned 100 or what-ever, instead of just never moving. Wrapping his thoughts around this, eyes carefully watching Ellie's quietly, noticing her eyes land on his hand that had been behind his back. Arching an eyebrow on her comment with her professor and research, he then promptly made a face, his face contorting to playful disgust then mock jealousy, "No offense, but I think time with me would be better." The dark-haired male watched Ellie's aura change, then her own facial features. Crouching down slightly as shs seemed to process he was handing her an envelope with their two plane tickets of the optional dates to fly out of, the Immortal grinned as she opened the envelope, like it would be a bomb that would be ticking in her hands. Keenly watching her, he then mused, "Besides, if you can't get out of going with the professor, let's stay longer. I'm happy to go the whole summer. As long as you want." he added, a serious tone claiming his voice towards the beautiful woman in front of him, as she then exclaimed his name. Every time, no matter what, no matter when or where she said it, every time she uttered his name, Christian always got a pleasant chill down his spine. A pleasant shiver he enjoyed so much. Like he just enjoyed being in Ellie's presence, sometimes he felt she was too good for him, that she should be with someone else. Someone she could grow old with, have gray hair with. He hadn't ever found a gray hair, so fortunately his immortality set in before that but now, it would cost him the love of his eternal life. His - and it was a term he didn't throw around - his soul mate. The girl suddenly jumped up and her arms were around him before he knew what had happened. Her face smothered itself into his chest, and he swore he could feel his heart skip a beat. If it even could. The male eagerly returned the hug, arms coiling around her frame like a snake protecting its nest from a hungry mongoose. Lowering his face to rest his chin on the top of her head, this was what perfection could be smashed into a few precious moments. Their breathing synced and the male commented, "I did Ellie, and I would do it again and again." he spoke gently, wrapping a coil of her brunette hair around his finger lazily, before stealing a kiss on her forehead, "I've gotten it all settled for you on my end. It's all up to you when we leave." he grinned lightly, "You getting hungry for dinner soon? I'll make you anything you want." [/sup][/blockquote][/blockquote] • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •for a minute there i lost myselfTHIS IS WHAT YOU GET.THIS IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU MESS WITH US.50+ - kel! <3 - karma police, radiohead - zomg. they are so effin' cute <33 - coming soon <33

The brunette felt a warm blush paint her cheeks when Christian called her out on her watching him, but she still turned to stick her tongue out at him in a playful manner, nose wrinkling slightly as she did so. Ellie got embarrassed when she gawked at her boyfriend like a preteen girl might towards her idol. It was weird for her to do that, considering how much time they had spent together over the past few months. She should’ve just gotten used to everything. But the worst part was that Christian could read her thoughts so not only did he typically catch her looks, but whatever thought accompanied them as well.
That smile. Good lord. It took Christian’s already handsome features and turned them into something a Greek god could be jealous of. And Ellie didn’t think he had any clue what it did to her. She felt her breathing pause, her heart skip a beat, and every thought in her mind froze. In fact, Ellie couldn’t even think of a reply right away, not until she carefully shook herself out of the smile’s influence. “Depends,” she said finally, pushing her textbook out of the way. Christian easily came before school work. It seemed like such a weird notion that school work could come before people, but it usually did for Ellie. She was driven to do well and refused to let anyone distract her from that. Well, anyone except Christian.
She couldn’t stop herself from grinning when Christian brought up a memory from their first actual date. Many guys would’ve forgotten such a small detail such as that, but not him. You’d think his mind would be too full of memories that spanned over two thousand years, yet Ellie thought he probably had the better memory out of the two of them. Maybe it was an acquired skill, learned over time. Either way, she was still glad that he had brought it up. It meant he cared. “That’s because you’re horribly immature,” Ellie teased, even though she had been the one who had just stuck her tongue out.
Observant eyes watched Christian’s expressions as they danced across his face, the funniest being the pretend jealousy. “Of course spending time with you would be more fun.” Could he ever doubt that? There was nothing Ellie wanted to do more. Besides, there was no reason to be jealous. Ellie would be spending a good portion of her summer around a guy who was almost three times her age. Granted, she’d enjoy the research itself and the knowledge she gained from it, but Ellie’s mind would always partly be on the dark haired Immortal and whatever he could be up to while she wasn’t around.
Because, as it turned out, Christian couldn’t always be trusted when left to his own devices. He had just bought plane tickets to Italy and on what Ellie assumed to be a whim because there wasn’t much reason for him to buy them any other way. Nor did they just leave the invitation open like that unless they hadn’t thought things through. Ellie would absolutely love to stay in Italy for the whole summer, but she couldn’t just pull Christian away from his life for the next couple of months because she wanted to monopolize his attention. She was horribly tempted to take that offer though.
The arms that quickly encircled Ellie were comforting and familiar and something she never wanted to have to lose. And with his chin lightly resting on her head like that, she felt as if she were completely protected and was exactly where she belonged. You didn’t just stumble into such perfection without doing something to deserve it and Ellie daily found herself wondering just what made her so lucky. Christian began playing with a strand of her hated curly hair that he just seemed to be fascinated by. A small smile found its way on Ellie’s face, but she was pretty sure that Christian hadn’t seen it because of the way they were still sitting.
Ellie could’ve melted the moment Christian’s lips touched her forehead. It might not have been an overly intimate display of their love for each other, but the gesture certainly carried the same amount of affection. She sighed, knowing that no matter what she said, Christian would continue to insist that buying the tickets had been the right thing for him to do. Ellie honestly wasn’t complaining about the fact that he had gotten the tickets or that she was finally going to live her dream. What she was uncomfortable with was the price of the tickets and the fact that she couldn’t afford them right now. And even if Christian didn’t want her to pay him back, she’d always somehow feel in debt to him.
While she was going to keep quiet and let the matter drop, she couldn’t when Christian quickly changed the topic to what they should have for dinner. “Wait a minute,” the brunette requested pulling away from Christian. Her hands lightly ran through Christian’s hair before coming back to rest on his cheeks, softly cupping his face. Ellie’s brown eyes met his blue-green ones and she held eye contact for a few minutes before she started speaking. “Don’t act like what you just did for me was nothing. You’re helping me to live one of my dreams.” If Ellie let herself stop and think about all of it, there was the possibility she would start crying. Instead, she leaned forward and gently pressed her lips against Christian’s. After a moment or two, she moved back, smiling. “I love you,” Ellie whispered quietly, her forehead resting against Chrisitan’s.

karma police, arrest this manHE TALKS IN MATHS.HE BUZZES LIKE A FRIDGE.HE'S LIKE A DE-TUNED RADIO.• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Upon seeing the light blush that dared to color the brunette's cheeks, the immortal grinned playfully having brought that color to her features. Tilting his head ever so slightly, Christian mused, "Oh, cute."
he grinned, partially hoping to make her blush more, but also because he thought she did look absolutely adorable and even more beautiful when she blushed. How that was possible, beat him, but he wasn't going to worry himself over that. Grinning at her comment on his inquiry about it being a trick question, he nodded slightly, appearing as if he were in deep thought. "Okay, then I'll just take it as it is then." he grinned sheepishly. He watched Ellie curiously, like a lover might their significant other when they were trying something new. Or they both were about to do either something stupid and together, or just something wild and together. Either way, Christian did always like to watch Ellie's reactions, mainly because he knew one way was that if he didn't, he would definitely miss something important. And everything Ellie said was important to him. Sighing upon her calling him immature, he arched an eyebrow towards her, questioning her comment towards him, "Miss-sticking-my-tongue-out." he teased, "So, let me make sure I have this straight, I'm a brat and immature?" The Immortal laughed, unable to help it. It was like every time he spent with Ellie, though his photographic memory always helped, but the times with her always seemed to stand more prominent to his other memories. Even if they were "newer" so to speak, Christian certainly didn't mind, though they did spend about every day together. Christian wouldn't say his ego didn't get a boost upon hearing Ellie say that, even if he had already known that. Maybe he could steal her away after a week or so, let Ellie get done what she may want to get done. Nodding slightly at this thought, he then placed both his hands on the table for a moment, allowing her to look at the plane tickets. They weren't first class, but he figured that wouldn't be a problem with Ellie. He had never flown first class, and neither did he really want to. That meant smashing themselves into that "higher class" of people and would need to fit into a mold up there. For some reason he had a feeling they'd probably even get kicked out with how they acted. Chuckling softly at this thought, the Immortal then mused, "Oh goody. I won't steal you away for the whole summer, I mean...unless you want to be gone the whole summer. I got everything worked out on my end already." he smiled sheepishly, letting her know he had planned it. Spontaneity was in his blood too, a partial reason why this exactly happened, but it hadn't taken him too long to ask Paul and Paul's sister, Lynn to stay here for the summer. Paul was Christian's cousin through marriage, and also was Immortal, Lynn was too. Nodding solemnly to himself for a moment, the Immortal looked to the beautiful brunette in his arms. There came that wonderful feeling of being near to Ellie again. The feeling that when she was close, Christian could do anything he wanted to do. Well - within the laws of course and if Ellie allowed him to. Certainly not get in front of a train, but he would never put Ellie through that kind of pain. Not if he could help it. Pausing, his own thoughts drifted with Ellie in his arms, knowing that she was safe and protected, and he smiled softly, his chin resting on top of her curly-haired head. She may not like her hair, but he did. It was different, and bouncy. It stuck true to its own form, it didn't let anyone tell it differently, much like Ellie herself. She was stubborn in her own way, but not excessively, she listened to others' opinions, and she took care of other people. Especially her mother. The Immortal had no desire to meet the woman who made Ellie's life a living hell, mainly because he wasn't sure what he would do, more or less say to that woman. Eyes narrowed slightly, though he then caught her thoughts by accident about the tickets. Grinning softly, Christian mused, "Don't you fret over it, my gorgeous Ellie." he winked, before kissing the top of her head, he liked it when she worried. Not in such a way that he got joy out of it, but it let him know all about how much she cared. Stuffing her thoughts out of his head, though it was quite difficult when she was right there, he focused on his own, and their plans for the summer. Ellie shifted and he immediately uncoiled his arms enough to let her push back and her gorgeous soul-brown eyes meet his lighter ones. A slightly amused look appeared over his face for a moment before it faded and genuine concern and curiosity replaced it. Listening to her words intently, the Immortal nodded softly, though he had to register what she said after a few moments after she had kissed him. Did she know what she did to him every time they kissed? It felt like pure bliss and joy in the world, like nothing else mattered but them. It was just him and her in that perfect moment, like fireworks inside, and time didn't mean anything to them in those few moments when their lips touched. God, he hoped both that Ellie did and didn't know what her kisses did to him. Then hearing the three little, magical words, Christian smiled, feeling like King of the world, having the most beautiful woman tell him she loved him. Kissing her back after a second, he responded, their foreheads touching too, "I love you too, Ellie." he allowed a light grin to fall over his lips, "It will sound cheesy, but I want to help you live one of your dreams. I would do it again in a second." he spoke, before then hugging her quickly and adding, "Though, I love you more." he winked, eying her curiously, "I was serious though, aren't you hungry?" he chuckled softly, showing her he was taking what she had said seriously though. He was serious too, Christian wanted to take her there to witness the glory Rome had been, maybe Antonia could help them travel in time somewhat, she had done that before. Thoughts coiled around just being there with Ellie though, showing her Rome and his home-town, the secret ways and the best places to eat and shop. To him, with Ellie anywhere though, would be absolute perfection and paradise. Damn him. Damn him knowing exactly what to do or say to get the reaction he wanted of her. It really wasn’t fair, he should know, since Ellie was sure she lacked the reversal talent of that. Her blush did darken when he made a comment about it – no doubt exactly what he wanted to happen. It wasn’t that Ellie swooned over any comment like some girls might. Actually, she usually brushed comments off like pesky flies buzzing around one’s head. She didn’t read too much into them, figuring they were just some form of flattery that was typically followed by an ulterior motive. And she didn’t need that. They were just distractions.
But – like with most things in Ellie’s life, as she was finding out – it was different with Christian. She still thought he was wrong. That wasn’t going to change and the brunette was sure it would never change. The difference, though, was that even if Christian was blinded and biased when it came to the whole topic, he was at least being honest. He was saying exactly what he thought and wasn’t just throwing compliments left and right because it was expected. So instead of calling him out on the comment because she knew he was just being truthful, Ellie sat in silence, slowly covering her ever deepening blush with her hands like she was embarrassed by it. And she might’ve been slightly.
At least she didn’t have much time to worry over her embarrassment, seeing as how Christian was bringing up their first date. She had to defend herself from the wild implication that he was making about her being the immature one. “That’s only a reaction to your immaturity. It’s hard to act responsible and grown up when you’re around someone such as yourself.” All was said with a smile, showing that she wasn’t honestly arguing at all. Then the grin changed to one that had more of a loving tone to it, if that was even possible. “And you are bratty. But you’re my brat.” The sudden possessiveness in that statement surprised her, seeing as how she didn’t usually say things like that.
Even though her own statement had caught her off guard, Ellie didn’t worry much about it past the initial shock, instead wondering just how she and Christian had actually gotten to where they were. The couple was prone to pretend arguments that were full of teasing, but it hadn’t started out that way. She had been horribly rude the first time they met, practically biting off Christian’s head when all he was doing was attempting to be helpful. And not only then, but the second time as well. Downright rude when he had done nothing but return her flash drive to her and then saved her life from potential muggers. He was such a sweetheart, whether he realized it or not, and it just made her feel even worse about the whole ordeal.
And it was like he physically couldn’t stop proving just how much of a sweetheart he was. The plane tickets, the compliments, his whole excitement over her being able to go to Italy with him and the possibility of spending all summer there with her, everything. For a moment, she let herself be swept away with the thought of spending the entire summer in Christian’s home country. She imagined getting to experience Italy the way only true Italians could, being guided around Italy by someone who had been born there before it was even a country and had no doubt lived there multiple times since. Though, it wasn’t even that. The thought of spending so much time with Christian was too irresistible to ignore. Ellie had thought she’d want nothing more than to live in Rome, but Christian had proved that wrong.
The thought was all too perfect to be true and Ellie quickly remembered why it wasn’t; reality was in the way. The brunette had allowed herself to be too carried away by the possibilities that she forgot what had kept her anchored here for so long in the first place. There was no way her mother could survive that long without someone to take care of her. Ellie would be lucky if she could get her sister to take responsibility for their mom for two weeks and she’d never ask her nephew to go through such torture. She tried to hide the quick, melancholy turn her mood had taken, though it was always impossible to keep such things from Christian. He didn’t even have to be a mind reader; one glance into her revealing dark brown eyes and he’d know. Oh, she’d find some way to go for sure, but the question was how long.
Thoughts of her mother used to wind their slimy tentacles into her mind and make her depressed for hours, but it rarely happened when she was with Christian. It was almost like he was her antidepressant since she found it so impossible to stay in a bad mood around him. And how could she, when he kissed her back and said the words that made her mind freeze? Ellie wasn’t one to lose her head over some guy (even if Christian was more than some guy). She was practical, logical. Anything they felt, despite how nice it was, was chemically driven by their mind and bodies. Put that way, naked of the hearts, flowers and magic, love sounded kind of ugly. Maybe even crude in a way. Nothing special. It was just an ordinary reaction between two people. And well, it was hard to be romantic or to be completely swept away when you believed that.
Somehow, Christian got her to abandon all those sentiments, got her to turn to mush just like any actress from a romantic movie or a heroine in a book of the same genre. And she couldn’t understand why he had so much power over her. It wasn’t like Ellie had the excuse that this was her first relationship and had just gotten swept up in all of it because she had been in relationships before and none of them had even come close to this.
She couldn’t help but smile at Christian’s comment. “It is cheesy,” she agreed, wanting to kiss Christian again, but restraining herself. “But it’s sweet too.” Just like he was. What else could Ellie ever expect from him? She leaned completely into the hug, arms coming up to squeeze him tight. She made a slight noise of denial after he said he loved her more. “I wouldn’t be too sure about that,” Ellie argued in a quiet tone. She hated to think about it and typically tried her hardest to block it from Christian when she was around him, but as far as their relationship went, she was just the next girl in a string of many for him. It didn’t make Ellie think any less of him or what they had because Christian couldn’t be blamed for what he was. She couldn’t imagine having to be alone for centuries, every couple of decades watching anyone you loved die. He just seemed unlucky enough to keep going for mortals.
Ellie let out a small laugh at the mention of food again. He was so insistent, always looking out for her and her wellbeing. Sometimes she wondered how she had gotten along without him making sure she was taking care of herself. Besides, how could she argue when she was hungry? Ellie stood then, taking Christian’s hand in hers and heading towards the kitchen. “Teach me how to make something,” she insisted, feeling bad about having him cook for her and not wanting to spend any more time away from him this afternoon. Studying could wait.

He couldn't help it, Ellie just looked so cute when she blushed, even prettier than she had before - however the hell that happened, but Christian certainly didn't mind, and he wasn't going to question it, mainly because Ellie was just absolutely wonderful. Tilting his head slightly, the young man scowled slightly, though playfully when she defended her own immaturity. Shaking his head slightly, he pointed out, "But you still acted immature."
he teased, winking. Keeping Ellie close, enjoying the lack of space between them, Christian sighed softly, allowing his thoughts to run rapidly over each other in his brain processors. Tuning into the rest of her words, he chuckled softly and grinned like a child getting praised for something they probably only did half-heartedly, "I'll always be yours." he grinned lightly, a finger coiling precariously around a curl of her hair as he absent-mindedly heard a few of her thoughts, though he tried not to pay too much attention to them, seeing as that he much preferred to hear it from her own lips. God she was perfect, he told himself. Honestly, what had he done to deserve this? Oh that's right, suffer the pain of when Ellie's time ran out, when time became the moral enemy and claimed a love of his once more. It rarely happened, but when it did, it was pain for decades and Christian knew he wouldn't be able to move on from Ellie. Was there something they could do? He clung tightly to her for a brief moment as he mulled over it silently. Maybe Antonia could find a way to make him mortal, but - could he die? What waited for him after his lungs stopped taking air and his heart stopped? Panic streaked through him though he immediately muffled the panic and nerves and worry as Ellie's thoughts ran over his own for a few moments as her own got particularly stronger in emotion than before. Her mother. Damn that woman that made her life a living hell. Christian wished he could just take that woman off his lover's hands, allow her to experience life without needing to worry about her mother. Then again he supposed he only had a limited time to talk, because he lost his mother over two centuries ago. Lost his first wife over two centuries ago, over so many centuries and years and days even, and he still found it hard to think of his mother. It was hard for Ellie too he knew, how she could possibly find someone for her mother. That did present a problem, and his mind began to work on it quickly. Well, he supposed he could possibly call in a few favors people owed him, but he wasn't sure what Ellie would think of that. Cooing softly, he mused, releasing her hair, "We'll figure something out, Ellie, rest assured." he commented on her worried thoughts over her mother, unable to help it. But that did present a problem, and as always, Christian would be right there for Ellie, no matter what. He'd let bullets hit him for her, and he'd let a train hit him if that meant Ellie would be protected. Chuckling softly as she warned him on probably not loving her as much, he grinned deviously, "Okay, you win this time." he teased, quickly stealing a kiss before she could voice her opinion. Suddenly she moved away, and he quickly released her - though reluctantly, but grinned as she commented on him teaching her to make something. Grinning, he eagerly followed her into the kitchen, noticing Sedona walk in from the side, tongue lolling out eagerly and her tail wagging back and forth. The German Shepherd whined lightly, and watched with big brown eyes, the two of them, as she sat down quietly while Christian drew his arms around Ellie's waist for a moment, pointing to a recipe book he had, and showed her a recipe for a Mafioso Cake. "How about a dessert and then a manicotti? I might even let you see my secret ingredient for the bread my mother taught me how to make." he added, refusing to let the thought of his mother bring him down, before the Immortal pulled out Dutch process chocolate, and set out all the things needed for the cake on the counter, "We'll make this first as it can sit longer than manicotti can." he grinned towards Ellie, and spoke, "Do you prefer to watch or learn and do?" he inquired, standing near her by the counter, probably a bit closer than necessary, but close nonetheless, as he then brushed back some of her curls, grinned calmly and mused, after letting her speak, "First, mix this cocoa and this cup of water, and let it boil lightly while we make the rest of it." [/sup][/blockquote][/blockquote] • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •for a minute there i lost myselfTHIS IS WHAT YOU GET.THIS IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU MESS WITH US.50+ - kel! <3 - karma police, radiohead - <333 -dies from cuteness overload- - coming soon <33

She loved the scowl on his face, not because he was pretending to be upset but because he looked absolutely adorable. Hell, Christian was already adorable and Ellie loved any face he made, but it was the little silly things like that, the playful overreaction, that caused his whole face to light up and made her love him even more, if that was even possible. She guessed what she liked the most was the fact that Christian was usually very open about what he was feeling – at least towards her – instead of trying to be the big macho tough guy who hid everything. He was self-confident enough in himself to not act like that and Ellie would be lying if she said it didn’t make her love him more.
“Only because you started it,” Ellie retorted, rolling her eyes as if exasperated but with a following smile. This argument within itself was immature, which was what made it so much fun. Christian was such a break from life and she couldn’t remember how she had gotten along without him. Not that Christian wasn’t a part of her life. He was so much of it, in fact, that sometimes Ellie had trouble figuring out just where the line between his life and hers was, if it wasn’t already erased. But he was the one aspect that didn’t stress her out. School, work, her mother –those all made Ellie want to rip her hair out. With Christian, she could just let go of all of that for a couple of hours and act like a normal young woman in love.
There were times when Christian did stress her out, though he didn’t even know he was doing it. Like now, for instance. She wanted to believe that Christian was hers forever. But when someone in a couple said that to their partner, they meant “yours forever” until they died. And if there was an afterlife, that sentiment followed. While Christian literally did have forever, Ellie didn’t. She was constantly getting older, moving towards the state of death. Someday she’d look old enough to be Christian’s mom, and then grandmom. And while she didn’t think Christian would dump her over her deteriorating looks, the point was that she wasn’t going to stay young forever. She’d die and Christian would have to move on. She’d want him to, of course, because she’d never want to make him unhappy or for him to stay unhappy.
As nice as “yours forever” sounded, it just wasn’t true. Doubt filled Ellie’s eyes and she quickly looked away in an attempt to hide it. She would love to believe the statement, but could only think of it being a partial lie. Then Christian was twirling her hair around his finger and the comforting gesture made her think that at this very moment –even if it was only true until Ellie was gone from the world – he meant it and wished it could be completely true as well. She need to stop all this doubt and worry because what would happen would happen and there wasn’t anything she could do to change it. What she could do was enjoy the time they had for what it was and stop thinking about the what ifs.
Because how couldn’t she enjoy the way his face lit up with a smile like that, or the way his laugh sounded, or the way his lips always felt perfectly meshed with hers? Every moment was pure bliss and the only way she could ever be upset with any of it was if there was something wrong with her and she just hated the world. Since neither were true, then there was no way she could worry about the future when the present was all she needed.
Ellie leaned back into Christian’s arms when they slipped around her waist. She felt completely safe, completely content, right there. She felt as if she never wanted to move away from the spot. She had to, of course, so they could start making dinner, but it didn’t mean she had to be happy about it. “It sounds absolutely delicious,” Ellie said, commenting on Christian’s suggestions, stomach already growling at the promise of food.
Brown eyes watched every move Christian made as he pulled out the necessary items for their cooking. Maybe she shouldn’t have found it quite as interesting, but when she was in constant amazement because of him, it was nice to see him do something as normal as grabbing things out of the cabinet. It made him seem more real when he did simple, mundane tasks like that. Not to mention that Christian moved with a fluid grace that could only be accomplished by someone who had been walking for centuries. Sometimes she found herself wondering how she hadn’t noticed the little things like that before. They certainly would’ve been a clear indicator that something was different about Christian when they first met.
She loosely wrapped her arm around Christian’s waist as he came to stand near her at the counter at a space that would be much too close for friends but not close enough for Ellie. “Of course I’d love to help. Just watching is boring.” It was why it was so hard for Ellie to get through her science classes. She always seemed to get the professor who felt the need to explain the lab down to the last minute detail, taking much longer to do so than it would to just start the lab and figure it out themselves. Besides, she had always been a hands on learner, being able to understand everything better if she made her own observations.
The girl smiled as Christian pushed her hair away from her face, loving the gesture. She squeezed once with the arm that was around his waist and gently laid her head against his arm for a moment or two before completely letting go of him so she could follow his directions word for word. She had always been rather good at that.

Wrinkling his nose slightly, Christian commented, "Are you saying that only because I'm older?"
he teased, unable to hide a grin towards the beautiful brunette by him. Worry clouded his eyes though, as he watched her aura change slightly, then soon to follow were her thoughts. Doubt gnawed not only at her, but soon it began to eat away at his stomach and system too. She was extremely worried...panicking almost. Reassuring her, Christian then drew Ellie close, as if aiming to protect her against anything. It was what he wanted to do, he wanted to be able to protect her from harm, from the sadness in life, from time itself. That was the one enemy he knew he could never outrun, not as long as he lived. The male sighed silently, enjoying the few precious moments he got to live with Ellie any time he could when she was around. Which was pretty often, as his job would soon end for the summer, leaving him with only time for Ellie, and their trip to Italy. Paul was staying to take care of his place, which he certainly didn't mind since that meant he got to stay here and play with Sedona and the horses any time of day he really wanted to. Christian felt excitement pour over him like molasses and he knew if Ellie could see auras like he could, she'd be able to tell just how absolutely thrilled he was at the thought of spending time with Ellie - whether or not they were here, or in Italy. They'd just need to figure out what about her mother, as she seemed to be a bit of a dilemma, Christian had no doubt they'd find a way. Hell he could even ask another witch he knew here in town to change herself into Ellie and take care of her mom. Granted the witch probably wouldn't appreciate that, Christian could always just give her some jewels, though he knew the moment he flashed a Victorian-era jewel, the witch would do about anything. Conning someone to do that made self-hate and guilt wash over him, though it was quickly wiped away by Ellie's movements once they had entered the kitchen. From tonight on he told himself, at least tonight he wasn't going to worry about anything else but him and Ellie, being able to just spend time with her doing absolutely anything their hearts desired. Grinning as she agreed with what he mentioned they could cook, he nodded lightly, blue-green eyes watching Ellie and grinning when he caught a bit of her thoughts by accident, before sliding her the bowl and the two ingredients, the cocoa and the boiling water, "Go ahead and mix these." Christian watched Ellie keenly, before then letting her set that aside and then pointing, "Baking powder and sour cream in this bowl, that bowl can just wait its turn." he chuckled softly, before stepping around behind Ellie, curiously peering over her shoulder while the mixed the ingredients, "Next, butter and the sugar together, then once you have that mixed, you can pour the flour and the cocoa mix into this one with the sugar." he grinned lightly, feeling her arm squeeze before she then started to cook once more. Christian followed her movements eagerly, grinning like a proud family member would when passing on down the secrets for the family recipes. Well in a way, he was showing her how to make the cake he'd learned centuries ago to make. Stealing a quick kiss from Ellie then, Christian headed over and soon brought over the items to make the icing, he grinned innocently, "Would you like to make this too?"[]/b] he grinned, before then adding, "Once you beat in the eggs, go ahead and put the batter into this pan, and the oven at 300 degrees for..." he calculated it quickly, "For 45 miuntes." Christian grinned sheepishly, "We can make the icing and such while we wait." He paused, thoughts running around his mind as the Immortal then paused and added calmly, coming up right next to Ellie as she finished up the batter, "I know you may not approve of it...but there is also something else I want to give you." he grinned weakly, "I promise, it's small....smaller than the tickets." he reassured, though he wasn't sure on the value of it, but it would be more than the tickets, but he wasn't going to tell her that. Christian eyed her lightly, almost curiously to see if she'd still let him - in a sense - give her the little trinket he wanted to give her. Remaining near Ellie, the Immortal grinned as she worked in the kitchen, "Very good...I know Antonia will like having someone else in the kitchen with her who wants to learn, she just gets angry with me sometimes when I already know how to cook it." he laughed lightly at that memory, before sitting down at the island, still near Ellie, as he never wanted to be too far from her if he could help it, "Would you like something to drink, El?" [/sup][/blockquote][/blockquote] • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •for a minute there i lost myselfTHIS IS WHAT YOU GET.THIS IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU MESS WITH US.50+ - kel! <3 - karma police, radiohead - Haha, yes! “You certainly don’t act older,” Ellie argued back, in case he did try to use his age in one form or another as an argument against her. Though, Ellie figured he did have an excuse to act immature if he so felt the need. He had lived for so long…if he worried over every little thing, he’d go insane. Ellie had no doubt about it. She already drove herself nuts with doing that, honestly not being quite as easy going (if that’s what you could call her slightly less stressed out attitude) until she had met Christian. She’d drive herself insane if she lived for eternity.
She was surprised – but very happy – when Christian quickly pulled her to him. She wasn’t sure what had caused the sudden movement, until she remembered that he could read her thoughts and aura and probably was able to figure out exactly what she was thinking about. This was when she hated his talent, because it had gotten to the point where she wasn’t even fazed by it. It was just part of who Christian was and that was how she thought about it. And sometimes it was a good thing even, if they were both happy or in good moods. But she hated if she was in a bad mood or something was wrong because he knew instantly. In itself, that wasn’t all too horrible, but then Christian sometimes picked up on them and started to feel the same way. He didn’t need that, not when he was in a good mood.
But a very selfish part of Ellie said she got to be wrapped up in his arms whenever that happened. She felt guilty for even thinking it, but couldn’t deny it. Not as she wrapped her arms back around him and hid her face against his chest as if she was trying to block the real world out. And she might have been in a sense, since being so close to Christian made real life seem nonexistent. All Ellie knew was that she loved Christian more than anything in the world and she would for the rest of her life. It was such a strong sentiment and impossible to put in words, but Ellie hoped that at this moment, Christian was listening to her thoughts and could feel the way she was feeling right now. Maybe it’d make up for all the depressing thoughts she had just had. Because right now, those didn’t matter. Not when they were both together like this.
It didn’t even have to be anything amazing or extraordinary to get Ellie to feel that way around him. Simple things, like holding each other in their arms or even cooking together…anything that involved them spending time together. She’d trade anything in the world for that.
She couldn’t stop herself from smiling up at Christian before following his next set of directions. “You sure are bossy,” she teased, bumping her hip into Christian’s. Ellie allowed her mind to wander, thinking about what it’d be like to spend eternity with Christian like this. It’d be absolute heaven and she’d be happier than she ever thought possible. Ellie knew with certainty that was how it’d be. It was just a shame that that wasn’t possible. But she had promised herself – no more depressing thoughts. Instead, she focused her attention entirely on Christian and his instructions, following them word for word.
Ellie was so focused, in fact, that she hadn’t seen the kiss coming until it was happening. She hoped the quick beat of her heart and the pure elation she felt every single time their lips touched would never disappear. She didn’t think it would. How could you get used to a guy like Christian? You couldn’t. Ellie couldn’t comprehend how she had been lucky enough for Christian to even notice her, much less have what they had together.
She followed all of Christian’s instructions until the batter was done and felt a mild wave of satisfaction drift through her body, but it disappeared when Christian mentioned having something else for her. Ellie wasn’t used to gifts, not when her mother couldn’t be bothered by holidays that typically had them or birthdays. The brunette had never really cared all that much, knowing she didn’t need material goods to be happy. But Christian was trying to give her a heart attack or something – Ellie was convinced – by surprising her twice like this. “Christian,” she started, the sentence falling off right there since her mind decided to shut off. How do you tell someone that you really appreciated the effort (more than she could express), but couldn’t accept the gift? “You can’t keep giving me things. I really appreciate it, but it’s…” Ellie didn’t have an explanation, she realized, as to why it wasn’t appropriate.
That would be a losing argument, Ellie knew, but one she was going to have anyway. But it wasn’t an argument in the angry sense and she was already concentrating on Christian’s next statement. “I can see how she’d get frustrated with a know-it-all in her kitchen,” Ellie said, instantly taking Antonia’s side only to tease Christian. With the batter done and awaiting the next instructions, she walked over to the island and placed her elbows on the countertop, leaning against them. “And don’t worry about a drink. I’ll get one when I get thirsty.” It wasn’t as if Ellie didn’t know where everything was in his cabinets already and he didn’t need to wait on her hand and foot.

It was a look that a lover might give to another one, just to say, "really?" in an argument. Though as he allowed a slight smile to grace his features, Christian commented, wagging a spatula towards her that he was using to smooth out the batter for the cake, "That's because I'm a guy. We mature slower than girls do."
he teased, as if he had been born in Ellie's time, therefore giving him lee-way to his action. Then again, he also had been the one who needed instructions on the pinky swear. And Ellie, the ever-so thoughtful and absolutely wonderful woman she was taught him the seriousness and the solemn act of the pinky swear on their first few dates. It was interesting, how even though Ellie's mouth stopped moving, that didn't mean that her mind certainly didn't. It was like a soft humming in his head, it wasn't annoying, but it was there, and he absolutely adored it. It was soothing, and reassured him, always let him know Ellie was right there, right nearby and he could hug her, kiss her when-ever he damn well pleased. God he knew it had been a mistake when he first met Ellie. Not in the sense of feeling this passion and love for her, but he knew in the end, they would be separated. He scratched the mistake part out no - it had been right. They were a part of each other's life now, and Christian wouldn't have it any other way. He just knew when the time came, that he would want to be able to die with her. Light eyes narrowed slightly as his thoughts tumbled over each other, following suit with Ellie's own subconsciously. He made it a habit to not listen to her thoughts very much, but he did pick up on her emotions, a bit of empathy between the two of them. When she got worried, he got worried over her, what was making her worry and if there was anything that he could do in order to eliminate her worry. A mistake. Nah, Christian would do anything he knew in centuries to be able to have this love that he and Ellie have right now and would till their final moments together. Hugging her tightly for a moment, as if to reassure the both of them they weren't going anywhere, Christian laughed silently at himself. He'd told himself it was a mistake to get involved with a human, but within the time of knowing Ellie, Christian didn't even know what a mistake was. Ellie was the definition of perfection in his books, and he knew he wanted to be able to show Ellie the world and the world Ellie, to be able to call her his girlfriend, his lover. The one and only woman, he could literally say, he'd waited many lifetimes for. He chuckled at her comment after his arms left her waist of being bossy. "Look who's talking." he stuck his tongue back out at her, before sliding in a grin and then producing the pretty much finished chocolate icing. Quickly wiping a swipe onto Ellie's nose, Christian laughed, "You got a little something....on your nose." Sighing slightly, Christian shook his head at Ellie's comment about to deny it, "Even if you said no, I'd find some random holiday to celebrate and give it to you. There must be a holiday somewhere in the world today, besides just being with you." The Immortal grinned, before poking Ellie's side, and toying with her hair curiously, before then they finished up the cake and the manicotti, so that they could actually enjoy their dinner together. It was times like these Christian absolutely adored, times he knew he'd give anything to be able to live through again centuries from now. - - - - - - - - - - - - It was the beginning of June. A plane and two tickets - round-trip of course to Rome, Italy from Chicago where they had a lay-over. Christian couldn't describe how it felt to know that he would have as much time as Ellie was willing to stay in Italy, with not only the most beautiful, wonderful and perfect woman in the world - Ellie - but also in his beautiful home country of Italy. Just the thought of it sent chills down his spine. Looking over to Ellie, the Immortal gave her a sheepish look. A look that read, "I know you didn't want the bracelet, but I wanted to see your face." He'd given her the bracelet before they had left to get on the plane to head to where they'd connect to Rome in Chicago. It was a bracelet that had a coin from ancient times made from it, one from every century for about 7 centuries beginning from 300 B.C. to 400 A.D. just for Ellie, and it fit her nicely too. Plus the coins weren't too big or bulky - on purpose - and he'd had them redone slightly to be able to see the engravings. Wrinkling his nose towards one of the stewardesses who had been giving him a coy grin, Christian pressed his lips to Ellie's for a moment before pulling back, noticing someone - another supernatural look back towards them, lingering on Ellie before landing on Christian and turning back in his seat. "I'm driving, by the way. Antonia changed the reservation I had set for us for tonight, so we have to go see her first." he chuckled softly, knowing Antonia had done that on purpose, just because she could. They arrived to Rome at about 11 in the morning - thank goodness - and Christian was thrilled about being surrounded by English and Italian. He'd been teaching Ellie, and though she had some work - obviously due to it not being her native language - he knew she'd be able to get by just fine as long as he stayed near just in case. Greeting the person in Italian, they grabbed the rental car and Christian drove them the twenty minutes to Antonia's gorgeous country house outside of Rome. Three kids ran out, one he recognized was Maria, and the two older ones, obviously twins, whom he assumed were Leonardo and Franco. Eying the two boys, he got out and slid over to open Ellie's door as Maria greeted them, "Hi Christian and Ellie! Welcome!" Christian's hand entangled with Ellie's as they entered the grand house. It was well-furnished, not too cluttered or anything one might expect from a family of witches due to the media. Christian spoke, "Is your mother home?" Antonia appeared at the top of the stairs wearing a light green skirt and a tank-top, "Benvenuto!" she greeted in Italian, hugging the two as Franco and Leonardo took their bags with some magic up stairs. "How is the jet lag coming, Ellie?" Antonia winked, hugging the girl eagerly, "Come, are you two hungry? My husband Gabriel should be home soon and you can meet him Ellie." Antonia cooed, and Christian grinned, eying Maria who was playing with the monkey they'd seen back in the States, "I'll be okay I think." he mused gently, looking to Ellie keenly, curious to how she was doing now. That look...God. Ellie thought it’d kill her someday. It caused everything in her – even involuntary functions like breathing and her heart beat – to stop. She lost her ability to think, to even be able to form words. To forget that there was anything outside of Christian. And once she slowly started to regain, well, everything, she found herself wondering for the umpteenth time what made her so special. Why her out of Christian’s 2,000 years of life? Ellie was just an ephemeral dot on the surface of the earth, here for 70 or 80 years before vanishing from it while Christian would be alive for centuries to come. There wasn’t any logical reason for her to catch his attention either; Ellie wasn’t extraordinary in any way, wasn’t attention-grabbing, wasn’t even fascinating. She was just some college girl who still lived with her mother.
And then there was Christian, who was impossibly amazing. You couldn’t not be completely riveted by everything about him. Even if you hated him for some nearly unimaginable reason, you couldn’t ignore the fact that something about him just captivated people. Christian could have any situation he wanted with anybody in the whole entire world, but it was Ellie who got to stand here, cooking with Christian and having a ridiculous pretend argument with him.
“You’ve had 2,000 years to mature,” Ellie pointed out. “If you haven’t matured, then there’s no hope for you.” A playful light sparkled in her brown eyes, something that hadn’t been there before she met the man standing across from her. Behind that light was all the love she felt for Christian. One only had to casually glance her direction and they could see the radiant glow she emitted every single time they were together. You’d have to be completely clueless to miss it. Hell, even her mother had noticed it, complaining every single time her daughter came home happy. “But I wouldn’t have it any way.” She stepped close to Christian, kissing him lightly on the lips and thinking she’d never get used to this.
Ellie sighed contently when Christian’s arms held her tighter. She wanted to ask what his was thinking, but thought better of it. If he wanted to share, he would. Besides, they were in such a good mood right now and she didn’t want to accidently cause more problems. Plus, Christian was pretending to insult her, and she wasn’t going to stand for that. Ellie stuck her tongue right back out at Christian, her mouth quickly forming a surprised “O” when he wiped icing on her nose. But a mischievous smile that echoed Christian’s quickly took its place and she stuck her finger in the icing as well, placing a large glob of it on Christian’s nose. “You might want to look in the mirror.”
But he came back to the present and Ellie knew she couldn’t argue with him about that. Christian would find some excuse to give it to her. “You’re too stubborn for your own good,” she informed him, like he wasn’t already aware of it. ------------------ The whole way to Italy, Ellie could barely keep herself from jumping up and down with joy. She felt like this was all a dream that she’d wake up some day and find that Christian had just been a figment of her imagination and that none of this was actually happening. She thought that that was what happened when you were living something that was too good to be true. Brown eyes traveled excitedly to the window, looking for any hint of Italy. She knew they still had a bit of time to go and could only see clouds at the moment, but just knowing that another country’s soil was below the plane and not America’s was enough for Ellie. And then her gaze went back to Christian, because as much as she wanted to see everything and take the whole experience in, she couldn’t keep herself from staring at him.
The bracelet was secured on Ellie’s wrist, jingling slightly as she laced her fingers with Christian’s. She absolutely loved the bracelet, it being the second best gift she had ever received next to the tickets from Christian. It only showed just how much Christian paid attention to her, how much he actually cared. Because the bracelet of coins was absolutely perfect for her. Ellie didn’t get excited over jewelry. Sparkly jewels, shining metals…she glanced over them. Sure, they were nice, but there wasn’t much meaning behind it. Anyone could buy a necklace and there wouldn’t be much meaning behind it. But the bracelet that Christian had given her was much more personal, since he knew she loved things like that.
Ellie kissed him back, a smile on her lips when she pulled away. “That sounds just like Antonia,” she said, even though she’d only met the witch once. It was obvious that she was a stubborn woman and it didn’t really surprise her that she would make the two come and visit her first.
The second Ellie stepped out of the plane, she couldn’t stop her eyes from moving, trying to take in everything at once – the warm sun, the light breeze, the sounds of Italian drifting along. She stepped slightly closer to Christian, taking his hand while walking to the rental car. The drive was more beautiful than Ellie could’ve imagined and she was quieter than she had probably ever been in her entire life. Of course that all changed once they reached Antonia’s house and were met with two of her children who seemed to be just as loving and outgoing as their mother. She was glad when Christian took her hand, feeling like she was anchored to him.
She smiled as she saw Antonia coming towards her and quickly hugged the older woman back. “I’m fine. Thank you though. And thank you for letting us come to visit.” Ellie was more grateful than she could’ve thought possible. For everything in her life.

Grinning coyly to himself, he could hear her own thoughts running rapidly around her mind, most of them out of just pure excitement for what they were about to do for as long as she desired. Light eyes landed on their surroundings, and he had a light nostalgic flashback to his childhood. It was where he had received the scar he bears now, only when he smiles though. It had been a sword fight with his father, just training really, but his father had caught his son's cheek and therefore, caused this ever-lasting scar, much like the eternity Christian had on this earth. Frowning slightly as he looked over the witch's house, the Immortal chuckled softly, "I know what you did you tricky witch, Antonia. You changed our reservations in the hotel so we stay here then go straight to my house."
Antonia gave him a sheepish grin, like a child caught doing something they know they shouldn't be doing, by someone who they knew wouldn't reprimand them. Shaking his head slightly, Christian eyed the twin brunette boys who approached them - almost shyly before a wide-spread grin fell on their features, looking from Christian, then to Ellie keenly. The one Christian figured was Franco based on his thoughts, piped up, "You're human, right?" both the boys grinned toothy grins and once Ellie probably had a chance to answer, Antonia snapped her fingers, her long flowing skirt moving as she shepherded the boys away, "Enough you two, go play in the pool or something. They just had a long flight here." Christian squeezed Ellie's hand gently before inquiring, "You tired, Ellie?" he remained near her, seeing Antonia notice the bracelet around the girl's wrist, and a knowing smile appeared on her lips. The witch waved her hand at Ellie's words, "No worries darling. I love seeing you two happy as clams together." she smiled, "Anything to drink? We're about to have a little party out by the pool with just us, some drinks and food. I hope you two brought your suits." Antonia winked, as Maria then approached Ellie, and poked her arm that wasn't next to Christian. The girl, only about 11 grinned brightly and offered Ellie a flower, "It's from our garden, me and Mama raised it nice, this is called a Primrose." Maria beamed, offering it to Ellie, before heading over to get a cup of what Christian figured was water for her to drink. Christian sighed softly, drawing Ellie close and stealing a kiss while Antonia was getting some things to take out to the pool, and he threw her a coy grin, "Want me to show you a bit around the house?" Antonia nodded, "Oh yes! By all means, go ahead you two. No rush on the food, it'll be ready in about twenty minutes." Christian nodded to Antonia, who nudged Maria outside through a glass door to their large backyard that had a gorgeous pool as well as a large field behind it. Drawing Ellie close eagerly, Christian inquired, "What do you think of it so far?" he grinned shyly, eyes gleaming happily at the notion of being able to show Ellie everything how he saw it, and to let her form her own opinion on this beautiful country. Christian grinned sheepishly, before gesturing, "I promise, just a quick tour to show you the house." he grinned, leading her through the rest of the first floor, which included a pretty large kitchen, a dining room next to it, a foyer, a living room and another room which looked like where the boys slept. Heading upstairs, Christian let Ellie poke around where she wanted, and opened the door to her room which had the best view out of the two guest rooms, "I asked Antonia to give you the best view." he mused gently, eyes looking to Ellie quietly, before inquiring, "We can do what-ever we want here, Ellie. Want to go swimming, or go into town and see what's there?" he asked, his fingers brushing the bracelet he'd given her, thrilled she was wearing it now. His main thing now, was spending as much time as physically possible with Ellie. He didn't care what they did as long as he got to be with her. Frowning slightly upon viewing an old photograph of him with another woman who appeared to be in her 50s in the room, he sighed and shook his head, deciding to ignore Antonia's little thought of a fun joke, but he couldn't help but smile then looked to Ellie, "You decide, bella Ellie." leading her out of her room and pausing in the hallway, to let her decide. Kissing her passionately, eagerly, Christian drew away after a few moments, a gentle look falling over his features. This was what he always imagined what heaven could be like after meeting Ellie, being in Italy with her, no problems, no worries. Just the two of them. [/sup][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Ellie had been caught off guard by one of the boy’s – she wished she knew Antonia’s children by name, though she was sure it’d happen after spending enough time with them – questions. Was she human? Well of course she was. But what had jarred the girl so much was the fact that Ellie had stopped thinking that way. She didn’t look at Antonia and her family and think ‘witches’, nor did she face Christian and automatically think of him as an Immortal. They were all people and that was how Ellie viewed them. The only time she’d really think of the difference is when it affected her life with them, like Christian never growing older while she’d only age and die. So to have someone so eager to point out that difference just seemed odd to her. Of course Ellie was the same way the first time she was introduced to the supernatural world and she really shouldn’t be so surprised. “Yes, I am human,” she responded finally, partially relieved as Antonia sent them from the room only because it meant the end of questioning, at least for the moment.
She squeezed Christian’s hand back, again feeling like she was connected to something real when the rest of this was dreamlike in her mind. Ellie smiled up at Christian when he asked if she was tired. “I’m fine.” In fact, she was the exact opposite of tired. Ellie wasn’t sure she had ever been so awake in her life, so aware of everything. She was completely driven by her excitement right now. But his worry was definitely cute, like most things he did. The girl found herself wondering for the billionth time what he saw in her and what exactly she had done to deserve that attention.
But before Ellie’s mind wandered too far down that path, one of Antonia’s children was looking for her attention and Ellie gladly gave it to her. “Oh! This is beautiful!” The brunette said, gently taking the flower from Maria and offering a smile to show her gratitude. She tucked the flower behind her ear, not wanting to lose it or carry it around and accidently crush it. Hopefully, if the flower was out of Ellie’s way but still on her person she wouldn’t forget it.
A soft gasp of surprise caught in Ellie’s throat as Christian’s lips touched hers. No, she decided, she’d never get used to this spontaneous kisses. But it was better that way, wasn’t it? The girl leaned against the Immortal for a moment or two, entirely content. She nodded when Christian mentioned a tour around the house, silently agreeing. There was a moment of disappointment when Ellie thought that she’d have put a little distance between herself and Christian as they started the tour, but that was quickly squashed the moment Christian drew her closer.
“It’s absolutely gorgeous!” Ellie responded, sounding a slight bit breathless. But it was. Everything was; the small bit of Italy she had seen so far, Antonia’s house. Everything. “I’m jealous that you’ve had the pleasure live here for a good portion of your life.” She was jealous, but not for long. Not after she thought about how lucky she was just getting to visit Italy. For the longest time, Ellie had thought this would never happen, even though it was her biggest wish. There were just too many other factors that would hold her back from it. And yet, here she was and all thanks to the amazing Christian.
When they entered the guest room, Ellie’s jaw literally dropped from amazement and she let go of Christian’s hand, walking towards the window. Words couldn’t describe the beauty Ellie saw out that window and she was completely awestruck. How was it fair that some people got to wake up and see this every day of their lives? And at that moment, Ellie decided she didn’t want to go home. Ever. She knew she’d never be content back home, not when all she saw was an unclean city and a horrible woman.
The brunette was surprised that she could even tear herself away from the window, but it was only because something even more amazing was standing behind her. “Thank you,” she said simply, but it had a deeper meaning. Thank you for everything you’ve done. Ellie put her arms lightly around Christian’s neck and rested her head gently against his chest.
That was when she caught sight of a photograph of Christian and an older woman. Lacing the fingers of one hand with Christian’s, Ellie lightly dragged him in that direction. She picked the photograph up with the hand that wasn’t already occupied. She stared silently at the picture at first, brown eyes taking in every detail. Of course Christian was Immortal; Ellie knew that. It was still strange to see him in a picture taken who knew how long ago, still looking the same. “Who is this?” Ellie asked, her voice holding nothing but curiosity. She wanted to know all she could about Christian’s life.
With one last glance back to the window, Ellie willingly followed Christian out of the room. She kissed him back with the same amount of passion he was showing her. The look on his face caused Ellie to fall silent, completely enamored by it and temporarily losing the ability to speak. “I don’t care what we do as long as I’m with you,” Ellie answered. Because as excited as she was about Italy, about being here, she was still focused on Christian and this trip wouldn’t be enjoyable if he wasn’t by her side every step of the journey.

karma police, arrest this manHE TALKS IN MATHS.HE BUZZES LIKE A FRIDGE.HE'S LIKE A DE-TUNED RADIO.• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • The Immortal smiled softly upon Ellie saying, confessing she was jealous he'd gotten to spend most of his life here. Well, it certainly had changed since he'd been a boy here, but he did love his home country. There was nothing like being able to come back and witness the ruins that the humans refused to get rid of, the places where he remembered once walking along. Pausing, he then mused, "There are some ruins right here on Antonia's property she discovered when she and Gabriel moved here, would you like to see them? During sunset they shine...literally."
Christian grinned brightly. Upon Ellie spotting the old photograph of him with an older woman, he paused slightly. It was Antonia's mother, who had recently past within the past decade or so. He grinned weakly and answered, smelling the flower that Ellie had placed behind her ear, having forgotten just how strong the Primrose could smell when it was well taken care of. It almost coated over Ellie's scent he recognized so well, and he commented, brushing over the photo, noticing no dust on it, obviously Antonia or someone kept this room clean for guests, or just did. "That's Antonia's mother, she's the one who actually guessed what I was, and wrote most of the book about the species." His mind wandered back to the 50s and 60s for a moment when he'd been here to visit Antonia's mother, Alba, which meant "noble." He certainly believed that of the woman, she had been a powerful witch, and also had been the one to start toying with immortality like Antonia, not only to become immortal like him, but to reverse it. Suddenly his mind locked in on his idea, and he knew he would need to speak to Antonia about it. She always got up early, and with him only sleeping about 4 to 5 hours a night, he knew he could get the chance to, to let Ellie sleep. He nodded as she responded about what they could do. Grinning, he kissed the tip of her nose, before commenting, "Then let's go tour some parts of the nearby town here, Monte Spaccato? We can do it after the lunch here, or else Antonia will never let me live it down by not letting you eat her food." He chuckled softly, before his arms eagerly wrapped around Ellie upstairs, wanting just a few, precious, perfect moments with her. He knew this was what she had dreamed of. He could only imagine what she must be thinking right now. Christian knew he too dreamed of returning to Italy, and staying here till he somehow died. Ellie certainly didn't seem to want to go back the way her thoughts were traveling. Grinning innocently, he commented, "It could be arranged, like this. Or for longer than a summer..." he spoke, unable to help commenting on that, before he smothered her most likely play annoyance with a light kiss, and mused, "Would you like to change and perhaps relax today then we hit the ground running tomorrow? I vote for a swim here, eat and then we can look around the town." he mused gently, his body staying close to Ellie's, vividly aware of the beautiful woman in front of him. How close to - no - how perfect she really was. She was the embodiment of perfection his books, and he wanted the entire world to know she was his, and he was hers. For as long as she had on this Earth. Christian just knew, when her day came, he would find a way to not have to be on this earth without her. He couldn't imagine his life without her now, and never wanted to even think of not going a day without seeing or hearing her lovely voice. He drew away reluctantly, a light grin melting over his lips, "I'm going to go change, get some Italian sun." his eyes landed on his room, and he frowned slightly, his hand still entangled with Ellie's for the moment, him drawing out the time he had with her, even just changing into their suits, or at least something more comfortable. Upon noticing something in his room, he shook his head at Antonia. She had brought out his sword. The sword he had left to her to keep or sell if she desired. His sword he had had before he became a part of the Roman army. The sword his father deflected enough and therefore gave him the scar that looked like a dimple on his cheek. The crafty witch. She was giving it back to him. Christian sighed, how could he get that back? He'd figure it out. Looking to Ellie, he smiled lightly, before kissing her once more, and headed to change. Besides, Antonia would most likely keep them here till they relaxed and just enjoyed being in Italy for awhile before letting them go explore. That damned stubborn witch. She was as bad as he and Ellie were. Upon pulling on trunks and wrapping a towel around his shoulders, the Immortal eagerly waited for Ellie, though not for long before he grinned, noticing her suit, "You look beautiful." he grinned, as Franco, the slightly taller one appeared at the bottom of the stairs and shouted up to the two of them, "C'mon! Lunch is about ready you two!" Christian pointed, "That's Franco, he's a little taller than Leonardo." [/sup][/blockquote][/blockquote]

There were so many exciting things that Christian and Ellie could go do. So many different things and Ellie couldn’t make up her mind. It was funny how she had had her whole trip to Italy planned out in her mind, way before it had ever become a reality. And then along comes Christian, making the whole trip possible, and woosh – the plans went right out the window. It was okay to dream about the perfect trip to Italy when Ellie had thought it wouldn’t happen. She’d have this idea of what a trip to Italy should be like, and she wouldn’t be let down if she never experienced the real thing. But now that Ellie was actually here, she knew she hadn’t dreamed big enough and was now trying to make this the absolute perfect trip.
No doubt it would be, as long as Christian was with her, but it was still overwhelming to try to think she had to shove as much as possible into this trip. There was just a myriad of options and only a short amount of time. It wasn’t quite a fair ratio. “I’d love to go see them. They sound gorgeous,” Ellie told Christian, figuring the ruins themselves would be beautiful but knowing that experiencing them with Christian would be absolutely magical. He seemed to have that effect on most aspects of her life.
Then they were talking about Antonia’s mother and Ellie stopped thinking about Italy for a moment or two, concentrating fully on Christian. It would seem that as much fun as this trip was, it would also serve of a constant reminder of Christian’s immortality. You’d think Ellie would’ve realized it because they were, after all, in the country Christian was born in over 2,000 years ago. It was something that Ellie had chosen to ignore since every time she thought about what Christian was, she felt slightly depressed.
She was just being stupid, childless, she realized now. Ellie couldn’t ignore that part of Christian any more than she could ignore his dazzling smile and expressive eyes. His immortality was as much of Christian as anything else was about him. And as if Ellie needed more proof, here was a photo of Christian from who knew how long ago looking exactly the same as he did now, his features untouchable by time. He still had the same perfect smile that showed the scar on his cheek, the same shining eyes, the same colored hair (albeit a different style). All Ellie could do was nod at Christian’s statement of the woman in the picture being Antonia’s mother; she was wrapped up in her own musing.
At least Christian’s brought her back by kissing the tip of her nose and reminding the girl just how much she loved him. All that mattered was the here and now. Who cared if Christian would live to see another century or two while Ellie would be lucky to live a century? They had each other and that was all that mattered right now. The future was in the future and they didn’t have to think about it right now.
Ellie then wrapped her arms around Christian’s middle as well, almost as if to solidify the conclusion she had come to. “We better not miss lunch then,” she said with a small smile and lightly rested her head against him. But his next comment brought Ellie’s head back up so she could look him in the eyes. “You know I can’t.” She would’ve loved to stay in Italy with Christian. Would’ve loved to just leave everything behind because it wasn’t all that good to begin with. But Ellie couldn’t do that. She had a life that involved friends, a job, school, and taking care of her mother. Ellie couldn’t just abandon all of that. It’d be horribly selfish of her and selfish wasn’t something Ellie liked to be.
Unless, of course, it came to Christian and then Ellie was more than happy to be selfish with his time. She justified it by telling herself he had more than enough to spare and the little bit she monopolized now wouldn’t have that much of an impact later. “Swimming sounds excellent,” Ellie agreed, kissing Christian back before going to change into her swimsuit. She rushed to put it on and pulled her unruly mess of curly hair into a ponytail, carefully returning the primrose behind her ear. She nearly hadn’t brought her swimsuit, figuring there wouldn’t be much time for that. After one glance in the mirror, Ellie grabbed a cover up and a towel and then walked out into the hallway to meet Christian.
She made a face at Christian calling her beautiful, never quite comfortable with the compliment. She pulled the cover up over her head as if to prove a point and then took Christian’s hand. Ellie kissed Christian, but was then startled by a voice at the bottom of the steps. She blushed slightly – like a teenager caught by her parents – and put a little space between her and Christian while keeping their fingers locked. “We’ll be down in a minute,” she said in response to Franco, as an attempt to make up for what he had just walked into.
After he walked away, Ellie smiled back up at Christian, almost shyly. “I guess we should go downstairs,” she said, not really ready to go share Christian.
