Drowning himself in a sea of people was something Aaron did on occasion, despite his utter disdain of crowds. He was the social type, but would often argue with himself if going out into a place like this was worth it. It never was.
"You there!" A man bellowed out as he aggressively plowed through several floppily dancing drunk people in his path to the bar. He still had to raise his voice even though he was only a few feet away, considering the volume of the pulsing music in the club nearly smothered all traces of other sound not from itself. "I know you!" He shouted again, particles of spit flying from his mouth that reeked of alcohol. By now, the man towered over Aaron, and his height was fully evident as Aaron calmly turned around in his bar stool seat with a burning glare, staring up at him, or rather, from his angle, stare up a nose which belonged to an angrily contorted face with bloodshot eyes drilling down upon him. As the man saw Aaron's face from a closer standpoint, his posture stood with more conviction, confident it was him, every fiber in his overgrown body aching to fight. The man's words were more like inaudible growls now, but Aaron was able to make them out anyway. "IT IS you!! You're the one that ruined my daughter! YOU'RE DEAD!"
All Aaron wanted to do tonight was just sit and relax, have a few nonalcoholic drinks, watch people be idiots, .. was that too much to ask? Of course a drunk guy, and not even a normal sized one, had to pick a fight with him when he had only been here just minutes. Maybe it was the vibes he gave off, maybe secretly inside he was aching for a fight too, or maybe the guy was just a really angry and confused drunk wanting to get revenge for whatever happened to his daughter. Aaron wasn't about to tolerate being pushed around, or in this case, tenderized.
The man's fist came swinging like a huge iron hammer, heading right for Aaron's face. Aaron quickly leaned out of the way and the man's fist landed squarely on the edge of the black granite bar-top with such a force that it broke two of his knuckles. "AAAUUUHHHHGGG!!" He yelled as he stumbled back several feet, clenching his broken hand against himself. Aaron stood up from his seat with a scowl and solidly shoved past the guy, losing him as he meandered through the oblivious, raving crowd of dancing people saturated in vibrant, flashing lights.

Gwen looked around the club from her perch on a high barstool with a disinterested expression. As bored as she might appear, she found the whole thing quite amusing. The desperate men, hitting on anything with a pulse, the dog-faced women who danced like they owned the place, the occasional drunken brawl. Humans. The one thing they seemed to be good for was entertainment. She sighed and ordered another drink, casting another glance around the room. This time, however, something caught her eye. Through the crowd, she spotted a huge brute screaming at someone whose face was lost in the crowd. Her mouth twisted into a disgusted scowl as spit flew from his mouth, probably landing on the drunkard's poor victim. Hey, at least that was something to smile about. When the oversized one swung, she expected this to go as it always went; big dude pounds little dude, security comes in and drags big dude out- the usual. But then something entirely out of the ordinary happened. With a wail unfitting of someone his size, the big man jerked his fist back, clutching the now deformed thing. "Lovely." she muttered, her attention quickly turning to who she could only suppose was the intended victim. He was entirely unscathed, though looking irritated. "I guess I'm not the only one tonight." Her lips turned up in a little smirk, and she slid off her stool, slipping through the crowd until she stood just beside him. She reached out and put her hand on his arm to catch his attention. "Still haven't quite gotten a grasp on the whole 'lay low' concept?" She raised an eyebrow with an amused smirk, "How long has it been?"
eurgh... not my best... i'm sorry :/

Passing gently through the soup of swaying and twisting bodies, he paused in a hollow spot to look over the crowd that engulfed him, with amusement. This is what people entertained themselves with? Really? What a drunken stupor of delight. He never understood why throwing down alcohol to the brink of poisoning oneself was useful, let alone "fun" enough to do every night of the week. At least food and women were palatable. Sure, women had a higher chance of causing some damage to the body or mind, and food could make you a fat slobbering slave over time, but it wouldn't poison your system like alcohol. Most of all, he despised having something in control of him other than himself. Before when he would get drunk, he didn't have such a raging desire to suck people dry; he didn't want to even image what blending them together would concoct. His thoughts trailed off into silence as he noticed a particularly fine morsel dancing rather erotically, not thirty feet from him, causing him to bite the corner of his lip. He slowly pulled his elbows towards the center of his back, tilting his head in the direction of one of his shoulders so that he could crack his neck while mildly squeezing the trapezius of his broad shoulders, upper chest muscles and biceps for a moment, before completely relaxing again. It always felt good to give then a stretch. He started to head for her between the people when he felt someone's soft, cool skin press against the exposed epidermis of his warm arm. It wasn't a bump or a graze, but a deliberate touch, from a woman with quite an unusual scent. Immediately he halted, looking over his shoulder at the one who had so directly caught his attention. It was Gwen.
Freezing for a few seconds as his eyes briefly ran over her, he resisted the urge to grin, and instead raised a brow, the rest of his features mimicking a state of confusion. He ignored her comments, for now. ".. I don't recognize you. You must've had too many drinks." While shrugging, his face remained skillfully unreadable, his smooth, rich voice effortlessly concealing any hint of his true thoughts and feelings. Of course he recognized her, but he knew that Gwen was an easy one to stir up, and frankly, he found it hot when a woman was passionately seething with anger. To make things even more believable, in case she doubted him, he took a step back and let his eyes wander along the ceiling and bar behind her, as if trying to pass the time that was awkwardly being spent on this woman. He now turned away from her, towards the direction of the sexy minx he saw earlier, but when his eyes landed ahead, she was gone. "Damnit.." he muttered to himself.

"Oh, don't play dumb with me," she laughed almost mockingly, her voice full of playful teasing. He looked around the room distractedly, and her coy smirk quickly turned into an increasingly frustrated pout. "Or maybe you don't have to play." She muttered, not really caring if he heard or not. With a little twirl, she wound past the bodies that were pressing closer and closer to stand in his line of sight. "Don't pretend you don't know me, bloodsucker." She grinned up at him, the glint of a challenge in her eyes. For a moment, she thought she had him. But then he turned and looked over his shoulder, where a particularly curvy woman was slinking off into the crowd. Her pout turned into a flat out scowl. Injuring Gwen's pride rarely ended well. She glared past him, her hands planted on her hips. She let out a frustrated sigh and turned her eyes, now shining with indignation, back to him. "You know what? Maybe you're right.' She said exasperatedly, "Maybe I did have a drink too many.. You're definitely not what I was expecting." She rolled her eyes and turned to walk off.
okay... i know i only added like 2 and a half sentences >.< i'm sorry.

Sure, his attention was caught for a short period of time by a young, scantily clothed woman, but he was getting much more of a thrill out of Gwen's sudden close proximity. Earlier, he could smell something faint and mildly familiar wafting through the vicinity of the bar, but he couldn't then put a face to it until now, and he wasn't about to just let her slip away again, even if he was the one that gave her a hard time and influenced her to do so. Hearing her call him a bloodsucker did get bit of a rise out of him, considering he hated being talked down to like he was something to be compared to that of a mosquito. It hurt his pride and he could sense that he had lightly wounded hers as well. It came naturally with old contacts, they knew some of your quirks and how to drive you crazy, but at the same time they understood you in a way that most people couldn't figure out so easily, a thing that takes time to develop. He reveled in her challenging attitude.
Suddenly, his face split into a comical and somewhat cocky grin, amused with her. Stepping past the people who filled in his way, oblivious of the semi-private conversation they were having, he reached to grab her by the waist and pull her towards him, enough to just be about a foot and a half from him. He seemed to connect with her, as if they had never been a part from one another."You know, I'm not one to hide. Laying low is not my thing. And yeah, I'm know I'm better than what you were expecting." He laughed heartily, which elicited looks few half drunk people around them, some turning curiously. Aaron glared coldly at them and then made his way out of the crowd, pulling her along, not liking bloodshot eyes drilling into him so closely.
(324) Hey, it's past the word limit, you're fine. ^^

She had just found an opening in the crowd and was ready to take it, determined to walk away. Serves him right. She thought, still feeling slightly injured, If he wants to get herpes from some sleazy little nightclub bitch, that's entirely up to him. She had just wedged between two dancers, when two warm hands closed on her waist, pulling her back. She turned to look at her captor indignantly, but instead of a creepy old man, she was pleasantly surprised to see Aaron, now holding her near him. She smirked up at him, any damage to her pride quickly forgotten. "Finally come to your senses, I see." She grinned at him. "I've realized," she laughed as he said he wasn't one for lying low, "Your little stunt with the giant certainly proved that." He continued with that cocky little grin of his, "Yeah, I know," he said, "I'm better than what you were expecting." "You'll just have to prove that, now won't you?" She said in as soft a voice as could be managed, winking. He laughed loudly, attracting more attention than either of them seemed to like. He turned, half-dragging her across the room. "Where are we going?" she laughed as she jogged to keep up with him, "The Bat-Cave?"

Gwen had this way about her when she was upset. Jealousy was something he knew she may have struggled with before, and now her actions reminded him of a previous encounter, years back. She didn't have to say it for him to pick up on it. He had slighted her, though not on purpose, but that still didn't mean that her feelings weren't hurt. He had been gawking a bit at the dancing woman, maybe that's what she noticed. He looked around the room briefly. Ok.. yeah, it was definitely that. There wasn't much else to be offended over. She must've thought that he was going to pick her up. Well, technically she was right, but not for the purposes of sex. For her blood. He had a way of taking it without killing his victims by inflicting a severe bite. One that he viewed to be honorable, that left the target free to live life afterwards without being tarnished.
Stunt? Aaron was just minding his own business. It wasn't his fault that a drunk guy decided to accuse him of doing whatever to his daughter. That was one of the main reasons why Aaron never got drunk, it altered your judgement and turned you into a fool. "He started it. And I didn't even have to finish it, he did himself in," he grinned smugly.
He took a few more large strides before pausing to give her a suspicious look."The Bat-Cave? You're not suppose to know about that." He nudged her gently with his elbow, smirking. "Going out. Why, do you have to tell someone you're leaving?" He said jokingly. Aaron always did give Gwen a hard time, but it was worth it. And besides, he knew she could handle the teasing, she was fairly easy to get along with and often bounced back. He stepped away and stretched his arms, letting the tension in his body settle. "Just wanted some fresh air is all," he stated. He was showing signs of agitation due to the crowd. He liked going to new places, but he could only stay around large amounts of rowdy people for so long. "We haven't spoken in a while Gwen, how have you been?" He said, leaning closer to her so that he could discern her words more easily over the background noises.

Gwen raised a skeptical eyebrow at Aaron when he said he didn't even do anything to the man. "Nothing" sure seemed to do him a lot of damage. After a moment of looking harmlessly suspicious, she decided that was all she'd get out of him for now and shrugged it off. And before she could think twice, the conversation swept on. He grinned at her bat-cave comment, and proceeded to ask if she needed to tell someone she was leaving. "Ooh please," She smirked back at him, "You should know me better than that by now." Gwen laughed, running a hand through her hair, "Anyone waiting for me to check in would be in for quite a surprise." She followed him as they weaved through the crowd until it opened up, and breathing was finally possible again. She nodded in agreement as he said he needed fresh air, turning to lean against the wall."You doing alright with all these people? You seem kinda anxious." She looked concerned for a moment, remembering his dislike of crowds from years back. He seemed to be doing better now that they were out of the fray, but it was probably best to check. "Yeah, it's been too long." She smiled up at him when he leaned closer to her. "I've been great," She said, quite honestly, "I'm renting a house here in town... And things are going pretty well in general." She shrugged, life hadn't exactly been thrilling, but she supposed she couldn't complain. "And what about you?" She asked, slightly more enthusiastically than she'd told her own dull story. She looked at him for a moment, before a mischievous grin lit her face, "Just what did you do to his daughter?" Curiosity killed the cat... But Gwen wasn't meowing just yet, and her wondering had gotten the best of her, as usual.
