Benjamin was a newborn vampire, freshly turned 3 years ago. He move here from Arizona , he was a doctor there. He was still trying to get use to his strengths, and his bloodlust. Because of his bloodlust he had to resign being a doctor. Benjamin couldn't possibly focus on treating a patient when he wanted to rip their throats out. It hurt him greatly to be torn away from something he loved doing with all his heart. Though he still went to school, and studied even more of it. He was still young as well, 27 years old frozen at 24. He had graduated highschool when he was 15 and attended college when he was 16.
Now he worked at the blood bank, it was clean work, he hardly got blood on his hands. It also helped him deal with blood since he was smelling it constantly. Benjamin was very charismatic and the patients trusted him instantly. They felt safe with him, he knew this because he watched his other co workers handle them and they seemed nervous around them. The pay was good as well, he wasn't poor or middle class, but actually in the wealthy status. Though Benjamin was a humble man and didn't like to flaunt his money. Besides his mother was in control of the bulk of the money. His money lived in Italy with his little sister. His father and twin brother passed away a couple years ago, so the were obviously out of the picture.
At the moment Benjamin had just gotten at out of work. He had got in his car and took off his white work jacket. Quickly he drove home to his one bedroom condo and collapsed on his couch. For a blood bank it was very busy, he was always on his feet all the time, having 12 hour shifts 6 days a week. It was 6:17 and he already needed a drink. Benjamin got to his master bathroom. While waiting for the water to heat up, he looked in the mirror. Benjamin was 6'3,blonde, chocolate brown eyes, and muscular. He played football, track, and baseball in high school, staring in all three sports. Nothing about him changes except his tan skin getting a shade lighter.
He took his time taking a shower, letting the hot water relax his tense muscles. Benjamin through on a black shirt that was snug on his chest, showing off his muscles. He wore lightly faded blue jeans and black shoes. Benjamin shoved some money in his pocket and his ID, even though he was sure he didn't need it. He got into his car again and he headed to the club. He was there within ten Minutes and made it threw the line quickly since it was only 7:30. Walked past all the dancers on the dance floor and sat himself on the barstool. He ordered his drink and tried to block out all the music that was pounding in the background.

Some of them sinister and evil, but some of them no where close, when she craved to just go out and have a little fun dancing. It had been so long since she did, and she fancied pulling a guy and just have a night off really. It wasn't often that she decided to have a night off, in the last one hundred and fifty odd years she didn't really like to let herself go, it felt like a weakness, like she felt vulnerable in a crowd of people packed so close together, btu she would barely admit that to herself let alone another living soul. So, she put on one of her prettiest red dresses, black shoes and a simple necklace. She never tried too hard, because Helena knew she was beautiful, anyone with half a brain could see that. She looked in the mirror in front of her, at her lips, her honey coloured hair and a slight sprinkle of freckles. She looked so innocent, which had always worked to her advantage because she was anything but. She knew she was heartless and unfeeling, and the girl absolutely thrived on the fact.
She never needed a jacket or anything, she never felt the cold bite into her bare skin. However, she could feel it as a soft caress as she walked. It was dark now, she looked at her watch, it wasn't late, but she wanted her night to start early. Being what she was, she didn't get drunk easily, but a drink did help her. Always. It made her feel like she had a grip, which she did. She was a strong woman, nothing short off powerful and demanding, she was menacing and dangerous and she loved the fact that she had a reputation of being a heartless bitch. Heartlessness was good. It was never a weakness because you never allowed yourself enough time to feel anything, and if you had to measure the size of Lena's heart, it would barely be a centimetre big. From when she was turned, she had never allowed herself to feel anything apart from negative emotions, anger, hate, and one hundred and fifty eight years was a long time to never feel any warm emotions. And it showed, ever her presence was cold and unnatural. She could act warm and happy, to lead men on before crushing their hearts. That's how she liked it, that's what she was used to, that's how it always was.
The vampire had always liked the club of daggers, as it was so aptly named. It held a variety of creatures, and she didn't give a damn who they were as long as she got to go home with one of them. She liked to dance, to seduce the shallow men through her body and her flirtatious expressions. They always came, maybe one or two, or three at a time, but they were always there when she called. She wasn't a narcissist. She was just stating the facts. She was just too hard to resist, especially when she flashed that smile of hers. She ran a hand though honey strands before walking slowly to the club. The wind felt like soft fingertips caressing her smooth velvet skin, and she felt herself shiver. Not because it was cold, but because she liked the feeling. Although she was wearing heels, it never hurt her feet, so she walked the way to the club. She could already sense action in there, commotion and sex, and drinking and dancing. She felt a smile grace her lips, a small reserved smile.
Sometimes she had memories. Memories of the man she had once been in love with, but then she'd killed him. That was why she was the way she was now. Cruel and heartless because that's what he'd been. She narrowed her chocolate eyes at herself, scalding her brain for even daring to think of him. She shuddered at distaste at herself before walking into the club. She never ad to wait int he queue, she knew the bouncer, quite well shall we say, so she just grinned and winked at him as he smiled and blushed at the attention before entering the stuffy club. She had never needed ID. After all, she was over a century and a half old. She didn't look around as she made her way to the bar, needing a drink first before she went dancing. Her eyes lifted and she noticed a guy, well he looked more like a boy, blond hair, broad shoulders, but he was alone. She felt the corners of her lips rise minutely, before she made her way over to him. She knew that he wouldn't sense her, if only because there were so many people close to him already. That's why she came close, and whispered in his ear. "Care to buy a lady a drink?" Before moving back a little, and waiting for a response, hoping that he would be at least a little fun to play with.

"Care to buy a lady a drink?"
The woman's sweet voice was closer than he expected. Ben had to resist from turning around and lashing out. Stupid vampire instincts, he had almost broke a mans hand when the guy was getting a piece of lint of his jacket. He was getting better at being a vampire, but he still had a lot to learn. He still couldn't face when his mother would die or even his little sister. Ben hadn't even gotten over the death of his brother and his father. He still blamed himself for his twin bothers because he was his doctor when they to Charlie out of the accident. He was the best doctor their and he did everything he could, but it wasn't enough.
Ben turned around and the breathtakingly beautiful woman in the black dress. Her hair was the color of honey and eyes mirrored his, chocolate brown."I'd love to."Ben said with a charming smile motioning to the seat next to him. By her smell she was a vampire, and he could tell even by her looks she was, one no one could look that beautiful. He was weary, most vampire woman he didn't trust because he'd almost gotten killed by one when she seduced him. They walked on the earth like they were goddesses using guys whenever they pleased.
He watched them work their magic on guys and they were not to be trusted. But even so Ben was a gentleman so he couldn't refuse the woman's offer. Some female vampires liked to take advantage of him because he was so young a vampire. The woman could probably tell he was a young vampire since he seemed so alert at some things, not yet having a full handle on his vampirism even now. It was a struggle for him, especially around humans. Yes he worked around them a lot, but he never fed off them. That's why he liked working at the blood bank, he got free blood.
"I'm Ben"He introduced himself and extended his hand. His gentleman facade was still going on, but he was more being cautious about it. Ben gave no indication of worrying though, which made him confident. The girl was pretty, fucking gorgeous no doubt. He wouldn't mind sleeping with her, but his morals came into view and he decided against it. But her body called to him, like the sirens did to Odysseus. But this beauty was real and in front of him. He would see how the night played on, how this girl was. He had a great sense for reading people even when he was human, now it seemed to intensify when he was a vampire.

The young ones always gad a sort of dark frenzy in their stances, their eyes a shade darker than they are supposed to be. The boy took a second to turn around, and Helena fought the urge to smirk. He was definitely not at all old. Maybe a few years, but that was nothing to the one hundred and fifty eight that Lena herself had been roaming the earth. The vampire to the blond boy in, he as attractive, his blond hair goign well with the way he looked, he was well muscled, and his lips were the most pouty red. She had chosen a good one. She always went for the good looking ones, but he hadn't even said a word yet, but she could imagine it as being rough with a tint of velvet. However, she was not at all fussed. She waited as he took his intruder in, his gaze lingering on her before he spoke.
She felt herself smile widely, her most sincere charming smile that was most faked. But Helena had always been an amazing acctress, she was evil and heartless, yet so many men had fallen under her spell, because really she could play nice. And she was always ever so convincing, merely because she didn't look dangerous. Her soft brown eyes, her honey coloured hair and the soft sprinke of freckes made her look nice, innocent, vulnerable. No one suspected what was ubderneath, and it was so much fun. Trick them into liking her, believeing that she cared, then crush them. It was ever so satisfactory. When he said he'd love to buy her a drink, it was just what she had expected. She was enthusiastic in speaking, pretending to be bubbly and animated. Guys seemed to like that side of Helena, no matter how pretend it was. "Great, I didn't feel like getting rejected tonight, and you looked lonely." She grinned her sweetest grin.
Helena took the seat the the guy offered, with plans of going dancing later. It was peculiar how your senses and feelings heightened when you were one of the so called 'blood-suckers'. If you felt hate, it was ten times more magnified, and hurt, that felt ten times worse too. That's when he introduced himself as Ben. Such a common name, so unfitting for such a beautiful man, he should have introduced himself as Benjamin. That sounded more archaic, more her style. Yet, she just took his extended hand in her own fingers, squeezing slightly as if to confirm her next words. "I'm Helena, it's a pleasure to meet you, no doubt." She said, her voice sounded sincere, laced with sugar and sweetnes. She ran her long fingers through her loose hair, as it hung in waves. Her single necklace making her look elegant, not over the top, almost plain but beautiful.
She removed her hand from his own, resting her arms on the bar, looking at the bartender for her drink for a second before giving the boy her full attention. They liked attention you see, the longer you looked at them, listened to them, the more they melted right in front of you. Helena liked to wind them round her little finger. He soft smile never left her lips as she spoke. "So, what is such a gorgeous man, doing here sitting alone by the bar?" She asked, lacing her voice with ingenuine curiousty. She could have cared less, but sometimes the little chat was fun. Relaxed. It was n ice to just sit for a bit and talk, even if it all was pretentious. Her eyes never left his, and damn was she good at this.

"Great, I didn't feel like getting rejected tonight, and you looked lonely."
It took Ben a half a second to register that she wasn't to be trusted. But god she was absolutely good at it. He played along with her though, and frowned slightly at her statement. That was highly unlikely, she was gorgeous and she knew it. If he could ask any worker at this bar to see how many guys she picked up it would be unimaginable. He let his heart go to a girl like her, which he would never do again. But he made sure his face was still in awe of her, he'd just let this play out. He wouldn't go home with her, probably confront her and leave. If he hadn't gotten hurt he wouldn't even care if she was faking he'd been so desperate to find someone to love.
"Why I couldn't possibly imagine someone rejecting you." Ben said throwing her a charming smile "I'm a busy man, I really don't have time to make friends." Ben laughed quietly to himself, almost a self pity. It was the truth, working 12 hour shifts was hard work, he tried to relax as much as he could. Though he was at the gym a lot to, or playing a sport. He found it much more fun to play when you were ten times faster and stronger than before. He was a gifted athlete in Highschool and college, now he was just unbelievable.
"I'm Helena, it's a pleasure to meet you, no doubt."
Helena was unbelievable, he still couldn't fathom that she was faking it. But maybe she wasn't? No. She was, and Ben knew it. His smile never left his lips, for a human girl they would be breathless. Even before he was a vampire Ben always distracted the female nurses he worked with. When he observed their work they got all frazzled. Ben is modest so he thought that they were nervous because he was a doctor, more higher up than them. But then the other guy doctors told him how jealous they were that all the nurses were interested in him.
"Yes, it such a pleasure to be in such a magnificent presence such as yourself Helena." Ben let the words roll of his tongue like honey. Ben was a very charming guy, not even meaning to sometimes. When he actually did try he could make anyone swoon over him. He was natural at it, not in the arrogant way though. The moment Ben walked in a room the atmosphere grew happier. He made people feel special, that's who he was. Ben never judged and he was the purest soul. But when someone messed with his feelings, it was an ugly site. Though it took lot to hurt Ben, it was when people were trying to deliberately hurt him that he got really angry.
"So, what is such a gorgeous man, doing here sitting alone by the bar?"
Ben smiled and took a sip of his drink to distract himself from her eyes that made his stomach all weird. Dammit, focus. Ben wouldn't let her take control so he looked straight back at her. "Like I said, I work to much to actually make friends." Ben shrugged "But if you'd like to be my friend I won't be alone as much." Ben was a gentleman yes, so he tried to pick his words carefully to make sure he stayed one. Though it didn't really matter to Helena he presumed. She probably just wanted sex from him, which he sure as hell wouldn't give her. If she wasn't trying to play him then that would be different.
He looked at her, into her eyes, he caught something that was behind everything else. No one would have caught it even if they were a vampire if they weren't looking for it. He saw the tiniest bit of..what..evil? That seemed to Harsh of a word, but it was probably true. Though he could be totally wrong, imagining things. His mother said he was her little charm, he could make her feel happier on the worst of days. Ben was just that kind of person, he affected like that. He was like an Omega, having the ability to calm down people, putting down the monster inside.

After all, she hadn't said anything out of the ordinary. It was a very natural conversation, and she made sure her smiled looked so genuine. Maybe he suspected her less than humble motives. Either way, Helena had nothing to lose, he'd be just another spot that could be forgotten in minutes, she was sure. She made sure her face fell at his words, a genuine look, as she glanced at him from under her lashes, looking that f she wasn't a vampire she'd be blushing, she gave him a sad little smile. "I wish. The men here take me for granted. And when they figure out I'm quite shy, they leave, because I won't go back with them. They're not humble. So, I hoped I'd picked a nice man to talk to tonight, without them trying to use me then reject me." She explained slowly, as if she was quite sad about what happened every time she hit the club. There was no lie in her eyes at all, the born burned into his, willing him to believe her, because he was just that 'truthful'.
He said he was busy. All the better. That meant he was lonely, and would welcome her company, especially when she was as sweet as she was acting. She made the look on her face apologetic, at the fact that he didn't have time to make friends. "I'm so sorry to hear it. I find it better to have a few really good friends that many casual acquaintances. It makes it easier to care about all of them." She said, making sure he knew that she liked to care about the people she made friends with. "Tell me Ben, what do you do that it makes your life so busy?" She asked, curioustiy in her voice, she sounded genuinely interested. Key word, sounded. Sometimes she aplauded herself on her acting, Lena was just that good.
This blond beauty did not seem to lack charm. He might be a newly made vampire, but he was ever so polite. A gentleman. She almost felt bad for her plan to toy with him, though the key word in that being 'almost'. Helena looked down to her lap in modesty, at the comment about her 'magnificent presence'. Oh what a charmer, she had picked good. She glanced up at him a little 'embarrassed', as someone would be. Helena really didn't actually get embarrassed, but it was all part of it. "Oh please, I could say the same about you." She smiled modestly, "I don't usually do this you know. Just talk to random men, I guess I'm a bit shy for a vampire." She said, looking back down at her perfectly manicured fingers, and playing about with her silver bracelet. She knew having flashes of her life before a vampire, this necklace had been given to her by her father when she had turned eighteen. She didn't like to take it off. She may be a heartless bitch, but she had loved her father, and any memory of him brought hurt. Not that she'd ever admit that to anyone.
Friends. She could do friends. After all, tonight Helena was a shy and modest vampire. "It would be an honour to have you as a friend Ben." She made sure to use his name, because the other men she had been with seemed to like her saying their name. "Though I'm sure it's not hard for someone like you to make friends, even in such a short space of time spending at the club." She inquired, asking questions about himself, not wanting to really talk about herself. Being shy and modest meant talking as little as possible about yourself, and Helena had perfect the act of asking questions in a way that didn't leave much room for them to ask questions about her. "You're quite the gentleman." She smiled as she paid him the compliment, her smile reached her eyes. Now that was an oscar worthy piece of acting.

"I wish. The men here take me for granted. And when they figure out I'm quite shy, they leave, because I won't go back with them. They're not humble. So, I hoped I'd picked a nice man to talk to tonight, without them trying to use me then reject me."
It was so easy to believe her that Ben had just played along with her not bothering to tell if she was lying or not even though he knew she was. "Well you can point them put and I'll deal with them." Ben smiled at her "I never do anything hurtful to someone unless Im provoked first." Ben was sly with his words, he let out a warning that didn't even seem like one. He was looking at her with such adoration. He almost felt like slapping himself in the face for even doing this. He should just tell her he had to go and be done with her. But Ben was curious, and that would not be the gentlemen thing to do to a lady.
"I'm so sorry to hear it. I find it better to have a few really good friends that many casual acquaintances. It makes it easier to care about all of them."
Ben smiled and nodded in agreement. Damn, she was good. Helena said the right stuff and he would have loved her if she wasn't faking it. Hell he would be perfect for her, To bad dreams don't come true."I completely agree with you Helena, I truly hope your one of them." He smiled genuinely at her and tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear. She was beautiful, to beautiful to be in a place like this. He wished that she would open up to him and tell him why she was like this. But he had better chance of walking on the sun and not burning. But he could still wish right, pretending was good for now.
"Tell me Ben, what do you do that it makes your life so busy?"
"I work at the blood bank, 12 hour shifts. I use to work at a regular hospital...but I couldnt be around human blood..without wanting to kill them."Ben said and winced. He motioned the bar tender for another drink as he downed the rest of his."I like it, good pay, nice people. Since it's clean work and no blood gets spilled it helps me get use to the smell." Ben smiled at her, wishing she could be real more and more. Helena probably drained humans when she fed, the last vampire like her did. It would be about time before she tried to ask to sleep with him, obviously she wouldn't ask straight out, she was smart, she would find out a way.
"Oh please, I could say the same about you.I don't usually do this you know. Just talk to random men, I guess I'm a bit shy for a vampire."
"Why thankyou Helena." Ben said "and there's no shame in that. Who says what vampires should and shouldn't be? Some are shy and humble like yourself, others have no hearts but whose to judge them? Maybe they had it a little rougher than the rest of us." Ben shrugged his shoulders at the last part. Everything he said was true, besides her being shy and humble. It was strangely nice to talk to her, he didn't mind it. As long as Ben reminded himself every once in a while that she was fake he would continue to talk to her. But that one moment where she turned on him there would be hell to pay.
"It would be an honour to have you as a friend Ben."
"Good, I'm the luckiest man in the world." Ben said and gave her a charming smile. To bad the conversation of his life was so fake it made him uneasy. He kept telling himself he should leave but the woman made him stay."Though I'm sure it's not hard for someone like you to make friends, even in such a short space of time spending at the club." Ben grinned at her but shrugged at the statement."I usually keep to myself, unless a gorgeous woman like yourself approaches me." He said And laughed, eyes inviting. When people met Ben people developed a strong emotion toward him. It was either a strong like or a strong hate, with Helena he didnt really know what it was.
"You're quite the gentleman."
"Your to kind, though I do pride myself in that." Ben admitted "I try my best to do the right things in life, its been hard with my brother and father gone though. But what can you do right? I just look to the brighter things because if you wallow away in the dark you lose yourself."

If she was actually nice and sweet and shy. If she wasn't always blood thirsty, or loved playing around with people's feelings. Maybe it would make the world a brighter place, though Lena herself quite enjoyed the darkness of the world. She believed that chaos and hurt and fear made life that much more interesting. She saw Ben's unwavering gaze, and wondered whether she was as convincing as she believed. Maybe he saw right through her, but did nothing about it. Either way, it didn't particularly matter. "That's a very nice thing to say. Thank you. Your parents taught you good manners." She praised, because if Ben was anything, he was a gentleman. She like that kind the best. They were more willing to believe her lies.
The warning was evident. He was literally telling her that is she hurt him she'd pay. Well, that was even more fun. She would see how far this gentleman would be willing to take his anger on her. "Someone must do something very hurtful to provoke you then. I couldn't even imagine, I guess I've never really faced hurt, or tried to hurt anyone. It seems petty to play around with feelings like that." Her words sounded sincere even to her own ears, that she actually felt strongly about people hurting other people. That she hated the fact that anyone could ever hurt anyone else. Yeah fricking right. She smiled a little as he spoke, his words as soft as the touch on her hair. When he was putting her hair behind her ear, she grabbed his fingers and put back on the table, as if he was getting a little too close, as if she wasn't ready for it yet, because she was sweet innocent Helena Black. But no, those word's just do not go in a sentence.
"Of course. Well I try to be anyway. No one is perfect, but I hate to see people hurt. So, I try to be as good a caring friend as I can be." Her voice was full of conviction, her eyes looking at this boy in front of her. So, he was one of those. The vampires that didn't kill. She found that slightly pathetic, but there you go, there were all sorts in the world. "When you're around as long as I have been, blood stops affecting you, but I would guess you have a few more years before you feel comfortable enough to be a doctor around humans right?" She asked, "If I may be so bold and ask, how did you get turned? Because I can see that you're still a young vampire vampire." She asked, curiousity lacing her soft silky voice. They had hit it off so well.
Shy and humble. Helena. Pfft, like never. She felt light laughing, yet her expression did not waver at all. He was right about the last part though. She was cold and heartless, but if he knew that, wouldn't he have tun already? It didn't matter as long as she stayed in control. "You're completely right. You can't really judge someone you don't know." She felt like she was talking so much. Like Lena's words were coming out in strings of speech that she could not stop. She didn't even think about it, it just came. She wondered why on earth that was happening. She was aware that he was being overly over the top, praising her, giving her compliments, they came out so easily, and she wondered if there were any truth behind them. "Well now Ben, you're making me blush." She said, well of course not literally, vampire's didn't blush, but it could be used as a metaphor. Luckiest man in the world indeed.
He had a nice laugh she noticed. Maybe it was the stuffiness talking, but he did. It was warm and inviting, yet Helena found herself able to resist. "You really are too kind. I'm scared that with compliments like that, I may develop a little bit of an ego." She smiled, her words ringing as her voice rose a little as a soft laugh escaped her lips. She was surprised how much he was opening himself up to her. Telling her about her father and bother, seemingly dead. "I'm so sorry to hear it. But a positive outlook on life always helps. As does a little fun." She winked, blatantly flirting now, "Would you like to dance?" She asked, because she really really felt like dancing right now. She felt like moving, and she didn't mind one bit if Ben was there with her.

"That's a very nice thing to say. Thank you. Your parents taught you good manners."
"Your very welcome, I wouldn't mind do anything for such a wonderful person such as yourself Helena, truly." Ben smiled easier saying It not that he was just playing along. It was so easy as well, just giving into her act, until it took a drastic turn. He loved to talk to her, absolutely loved it.He felt himself relax more , more at ease, as long as he reminded himself this wasn't real every once in a while. He had to admit she was the beat actor he had ever seemed. That calm and lovely look on her face just captivated him. It probably captivated every guy she saw, slight anger boiled up in him as he thought about her with other guys. Shit, it was already happening, focus.
"Someone must do something very hurtful to provoke you then. I couldn't even imagine, I guess I've never really faced hurt, or tried to hurt anyone. It seems petty to play around with feelings like that."
He smiled wearily as he thought about the memory of the girl very much like Helena."Yes, she reminded me much of you. However she used me and tried to kill me." Ben winced and frowned "Which I don't think you'd ever do, your far to...real." Now Ben smiled at her with such emotion, though broke the gaze and looked down at his drink, seeming embarrassed. He wondered how this night would end, he was already getting to attached to her. Getting jealous? What the fuck was wrong with him? He knew what she was and yet he couldn't make himself walk out. It's like he was rooted in place, already falling under her spell.
"Of course. Well I try to be anyway. No one is perfect, but I hate to see people hurt. So, I try to be as good a caring friend as I can be."
"That's great, I try my best as well. But in my own opinion, I think that your perfect, or as close as it gets." Ben complimented throwing her another charming smile. This was getting easier for him, he just had to believe her, for a little bit anyways."Truly, have you looked at yourself? Beautiful, nice and charming, what a guy wouldn't do to be with you." Ben said truthfully, mixing up reality and fantasy was clouding his judgement and mind. Fuck, who was he kidding, Helena was messing his mind up as well as his insides. She just had that affect on him, he tried to picture her cold and heartless and he simply couldn't.
When you're around as long as I have been, blood stops affecting you, but I would guess you have a few more years before you feel comfortable enough to be a doctor around humans right?"
Ben nodded, hoping that it was the case within the next few years. He thought that the hospital blood was okay. He almost laughed because it was her first real truthful thing she said so far. But he held his composer and just smiled at her. He wondered what she thought of him, was he just another guy she hurt. Or was he different from the rest, stick out in any way. His mother said he had a good affect on people, really charismatic she would say. That's how he landed the job at the blood bank, and his extremely good doctor resumé. Ben wondered if Helena worked anywhere, or she was really old and had a lot of money so she didn't need to work.
"If I may be so bold and ask, how did you get turned? Because I can see that you're still a young vampire."
"No it's fine, uhm, I went to hike the Appalachian trail. My father had passed away a few weeks before and I needed to get away. Ben explained giving her a weak smile "Then I got sick and just passed out, the next thing I knew when I woke up was that I was a vampire. I had to quit my job and relocate." Ben frowned, he had loved Phoenix, loved the sun and the hospital. The people there loved him and when he had to go they threw him a going away party. He didn't really enjoy that because of the humans and the blood, but he put on a good front and left on a some what happy note. In a couple of years maybe he'd go back to them once he was all set around human blood.
"You're completely right. You can't really judge someone you don't know"
"That's why I don't, even when it may seem to everyone else that there a bad person." Ben said with shrug. That has been his motto for a really long time. He was the sensible twin while his brother was quick to judge. He missed his brother dearly, wishing he was with him now to help him out with this. See Charlie was good with reacting to odd situations, taking the actions necessary. But with Ben, he had been to afraid to hurt peoples feelings. He could always count on his twin to have his back with anything.
"Well now Ben, you're making me blush."
"Well it's completely true, I would never lie about that." Ben smiled, not a fake one but a one he couldn't help. He glanced off to the people dancing, he danced every now and then. He knew how to dance well, the old and knew way."You really are too kind. I'm scared that with compliments like that, I may develop a little bit of an ego." Ben just laughed at the statement, she would never do that. But then remembering what she was, she would have an ego like that. Helena knew she was drop dead gorgeous, and that's how she got all her men.
"I'm so sorry to hear it. But a positive outlook on life always helps. As does a little dancing. Would you like to dance?
"You don't need to be sorry, it wasnt your fault." Ben said "And yes I would be delighted to." Ben's smile couldn't help but grow as she invited him to dance. He motioned her to get up before he did, a gentleman thing to do. He followed after her on the dance floor. Soon he let himself relax and made his vampire part take over. He danced with Helena, making no attempt at getting to close to her unless she came to him. He was actually having alot of fun, they were both laughing and dancing together. Then the song stopped and Helena got really close to him.
They looked at eachother and Ben's chest grew warm, then the little voice in the back of his head whispered something to him. Hurt replaced his happiness and it came crushing down on him. He tried to keep his face light, but he didn't think it worked "Would you excuse me for just a second, I need some air." Ben said still managing to be polite and he quickly made his way off the dance floor. When he got out of the building the cold greeted him but it felt nice. Moisture wet his eyes but he made sure they didn't spill. He took a deep breath and turned to go back into the club.

It wasn't like she hadn't been complimented before, but his words seemed so sincere, and not just cause he wanted to get her into bed. They sounded real, though maybe she was getting ahead of herself a little bit in her success. Damn this woman was good and she absolutely knew it. Helena fought the urge to frown as he mentioned the girl that got him in that state. So he was used to girl like Lena. Oh dear. Poor guy, Not really, she was used to thinking in sarcastic tones. Too bad he was so comfortable with her, because damn, she wouldn't take pity on him just cause it had happened before. She was real. Of course she was. But she wasn't truthful. There was a whole big difference in that and she knew it. She looked apologetic. "I'm so sorry to hear it. That must have been absolutely awful." Her tone was so so sad, like she could feel his pain, like it was just there, and then the pain became more real as she remembered why she was a vampire.
No. She wouldn't dare think of it. This boy was not going to provoke such thoughts. She was glad that she was able to hide the internal struggle, her features carefully poised. "You can't tell yet. You don't really know me, I guess it's what's on the inside that counts. Beauty is not everything. I don't want to be liked just because I'm attractive. I want to be loved because I'm not a thing to flaunt you know? Because someone has taken the time to get to know me and loved me for who I am." She said, which was a complete lie, because all anyone ever knows of her are lies that she made up, to look sweet and caring, and with a heart that is warm and beating. Whatever, she left the caring for humans. They can deal with all the broken pieces of hurt later. She didn't want that shit.
Lena thought that his story was a little dull. He got turned and he just woke up. Lucky sod, if it were her, she would have made it as painful as she could. Well, might as well ask. "Did it hurt? When you got turned?" Her face was moderately curious, yet she felt she actually wanted to know whether he had felt pain. She hoped he did, otherwise what was the point? This guy was so uptight. So sensible. Going along with every sweet word that came from her perfect mouth. This was going to be easy, if a little boring. But he was charming, and he was good looking, and she had already hooked him. She knew it, from his adoring gaze, to the way he kept smiling at her. It was all so common, everything she had experienced before. Helena was kind of glad when he agreed to dance. She felt like moving, with him or without him, so it would be a little more fun if he tagged along.
They had danced for a little bit, and it was every bit as exciting as she had hoped. The stares of men at her body as she she moved, her moved a little shy from all the attention. She made sure she focused her attention on Ben, and when she song ended, she moved only a little closer. Than she saw something flash in his brown eyes. He excused himself like ever the gentleman. But Helena was still acting, so as he left she followed, feigning worry. "Ben! Ben, wait!" She called, as he made his way outside. The fresh air hit her, and she ravished it for a second before turning to the younger vampire. "Did I do something wrong?" She asked, concern clouding her silky voice, she didn't care if she did, she just wanted to keep on acting. It felt good to be someone else for the night, even under false pretences.

"Did I do something wrong?"
Ben shook his head at her when she walked out of the bar. How could he have been so fucking stupid to let her worm her way into his heart when he knew what game she was playing with him. Anger boiled up inside him and he turned away from her trying to calm himself down. His temper was his major downfall, sometimes he could control it other times he couldn't. One time he had yelled at a mother with twins right after his brother died. He felt so ashamed after that. Right now Ben looked up at the sky taking deep breaths, and tried to get his mind of her. He looked at the stars and started to name the constellations. He had never been this angry in a very long time. Not since his father died acouple years ago and he still wasn’t mad as he was now. He was more mad at himself than her, he had let it happen. He cursed himself again for not walking out of the club when he had the chance.
Finally Ben turned back around, Helena’s beauty knocking the air right out of him. Still he stayed composed, he was going to be a gentleman for the whole time. Ben had almost let himself go just a few minutes ago, he was proud he didn’t explode. Then again she was still playing this sweet charade on him. He would never even think about hitting a girl when he was mad. Especially not Helena, maybe if she was all cold and heartless yeah. But even then Ben was still unsure, he gentleman side overpowered his aggressive. Now that he thought about it what if he was totally wrong about everything. Maybe he was just so paranoid that he was creating crazy stories in his head so he wouldn’t get hurt. Maybe it was just some stupid vampire defense mechanism. Fuck. Who was he kidding, she was a heartless bitch.
”I know what you are and what your game is.”Ben spoke in a stern voice”I just played along, wondering if I could get to see if there was any sign. But there was no sign on your gorgeous angelic face that betrayed you were a heartless being.” Ben would have said bitch, but again, he was being a gentleman for someone who didn’t even deserve it. He smiled at her, weakly as he thought of what she was going to say to him. Then he realized he didn’t really care, she would probably walk right back into that bar again and pick up some other sappy dude hat was alone and play the role once more. However Ben found himself caring what she said and did, especially if it was with another guy. Jealousy boiled up in him but he suppressed it down roughly.
”I just had assumptions at first, but once you started to talk more the more I realized you weren’t real.” Ben said shaking his head ”Because there was no way a girl so perfect for me would ever exist.” It was true, if Helena been who she really was he would have fell instantly in love with her. That’s who he wanted his soul mate to be like. To bad dreams didn’t come true, especially if you were a vampire.”But hey! Who cares right? You don’t care about anyone but yourself right.” Ben said with a bitter laugh. His face was sudden serious and he took two long strides and was now in front of Helena, towering over her. Ben put a hand on her cheek, and held her face ever so gently. ”But may I ask why?…what would possibly make you like this…you can tell me.”Ben said, big brown eyes boring down at hers, he was really close which made the butterflies float up.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i54.tinypic.com/2vafwqd.jpg), border: solid #ffffff 5px; width: 400px; height: 500px;] She didn't know how it happened. The guy must have been able to read her thoughts or something for him to know her real intentions. So she just played the dumb card, even if it didn't matter any longer. She was tormenting with his feelings. She was having way too much fun doing that really. Her face looked hurt. As if his accusations were cutting deep. He said there was no sign. So, how on earth would he have known? That was beyond her. Maybe he just had a really really good gut feeling or something. "I-I .. Ben, what are you talking about?" She wondered if he would believe her now. Now that he exposed her and he was denying it. She looked hurt, that he would even consider saying such a thing, but of course, she was anything but. What did it matter what one vampire had to say about her? Absolutely nothing, she had played too many of them, yet she knew she wasn't going to keep it up long. It would get boring after a bit.
So that's how he'd known. She was too perfect for him. "Just because someone is perfect for you, doesn't mean they have bad intentions..." She said softly, willing him to believe her, her brown eyes gazing into his own chocolate ones. She flinched at his accusations. And she realised that some of the urt she was feeling from his words were real. Just a hundredth of a fraction, yet she could feel it. She was so shocked. She actually cared. What the hell was wrong with her. The feeling was so small, that she forced it down, not even bothering to spend another thought on it. He was just another pretty guy for her to have fun with. That was all. When he came closer she noticed that he was tall. Much taller than her own petite frame. She wrapped her fingers around her elbows, shrugging int herself. She didn't want to lie anymore. She was a heartless bitch and he had sussed her out.
She sighed, looking right into Ben's eyes. She found confusion there. Hurt. Disbelief. It had been the girl. The one he was telling her about earlier. The one who used him, and then hurt him. It seemed like it was all deja vu for this boy. Helena told herself that it didn't matter even in the slightest. He put a hand on one of her cheeks and she was really surprised at the gesture. He was supposed t hate her. He was supposed to keep shouting at her and lashing out. He was not supposed to be like this. He knew what her game was, yet he was just there, all tender and nice. She figured it was the charming side of him, the one where he was a true gentleman, yet he had said that she wasn't a heartless being she's have been perfect for him. Of course she knew she was perfect for many men. Many of them only dreamed of having a girl like Helena by their side. Ben seemed to be one of those men, yet she didn't feel like she should be doing this to him.
”But may I ask why?…what would possibly make you like this…you can tell me.”
He was too close. Just too close. His words cutting her brain, breaking the box where she kept her memories. She didn't need to, but she swallowed. Her face turned hard right int he palm of his hand. He believed she was heartless, so she would show him. She grinned, a sadistic sort of grin. He still hadn't removed his hand, and she felt the closeness of her, and him. Man the two of them were such a contrast. She was evil, while he was pure and humble. She stepped onto her tiptoes, and kissed him on the lips. Just a soft touch, that lingered for a second before she pulled away slightly and looked into his eyes. "Someone like me will never be perfect for you Ben. You're humble and I'm heartless. I hurt people for fun. And you expect me to open up and tell you things that I can't even think about again?" She asked, with a quirk of her eyebrow as she stepped away from him, her stance now more confident, like she was Helena, and she was out hunting.

"I-I .. Ben, what are you talking about?"Ben rolled his eyes and balled his fists up, trying to control the ever rising temper. "Oh please don't give me that." Ben said threw his teeth. He hadn't sworn yet, which was good if he did then several more would come out. That wouldn't be the gentleman thing to do, but once she switched to her real self then he would hold nothing back. He didn't think he could anyways, not with the affect she had on him. The more his anger grew the more her space in his heart grew as well. He wanted to yell at her but at the same time he didn't. He just wished he continued to play along, the look on her face was killing him. She looked so hurt, but his face remained hard and betrayed nothing of what he was feeling deep down. "Just because someone is perfect for you, doesn't mean they have bad intentions..."Ben nodded his head, in disbelief that she was still trying to play him. Why, there was no point in hit. He could feel it in every cell that she was bad and evil..yet he was still drawn to her. Ben had never felt like this before, never in his life. The one time where he felt such a strong pull to someone was to someone heartless. Maybe he could change her, make her open up to him. Yes, that's what he'd do it would be his duty to get her to talk to him. He wanted to comfort her while she cried, pet her soft hair, kiss her tears away. "That's true in some cases, but in this case it isn't." Ben said gently. When he asked her why she was like this and reassured her that he could tell her, the unspoken happened. She kissed him, it was a light and brief. But his body locked up, though every nerve in his body was screaming at him to kiss back. His face was set like stone, he betrayed no emotion. This is what happens when he's beyond mad, she angered him to this point which few could. She stepped back and held herself in a new manner. He was guessing this is what the real Helena looked liked. The one who broke hearts in half and crushed them into bits, letting the dust blow away in the wind. He was not afraid of her though, he could see all past the front she put up to the little broken girl deep inside her. "Someone like me will never be perfect for you Ben. You're humble and I'm heartless. I hurt people for fun. And you expect me to open up and tell you things that I can't even think about again?""Oh I didn't mean you were perfect for me. The shy little girl you were portraying was." Ben said with a humorless laugh, his gentleman side still clingy on by a single thread. Though he felt another deep connection with her real side. The perfect girl for him could never exist, perfection was just to hard of a place to reach. "I'm not looking for perfection anyways." He spoke. No, he was looking for Helena, and her only. Ben's heart made his decision and it picked Helena, now he would not stop until he got her, he could not stop. "You only hurt people because you don't want to face the own hurting your in." Ben said to her, in a gentle voice. He was still angry with her, yet he still couldn't help being gentle, trying to coax her out of her shell. His invitingness did that to people, that's why many of his patients liked him so much. He wondered if she really had any feelings for any of the guys she crushed. Did she have any regrets, did she always feel so accomplished when she hurt them. She obviously didn't feel anything when she kissed him, but what if he kissed her. What if she was in the others shoes, being the one who was kissed. His eyes became mischievous and he smiled at her, it wasn't his usual friendly smiles. It was a smile that had daring written all over it. "I wonder..." He said looking down at the ground then back up at her. In a flash that even surprised himself, he was infront of Helena and kissing her. One of his large hands were on the small of her back and the other one was in her hair. He kissed her roughly, unlike he ever kissed before because it was a kiss of wanting. He bit her bottom lip and tugged it softly before taking a step back. His face was emotionless though he was trying to control his breathing. His eyes on her face waiting for her reaction.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i54.tinypic.com/2vafwqd.jpg), border: solid #ffffff 5px; width: 400px; height: 500px;] The boy was angry. Helena merely amused at his outburst and lack of better judgement. He looked like a stroppy boy, finding out about his pet dying. But of course, every single word from his lips was the truth, and Helena could not bother denying any of it. She moved a little, walking around the boy in a circle, and looked at him with cold hard eyes. Because she felt like she should be herself. So that he would run, and she could have fun catching him. This night was better than she planned, and she liked it that way. "Tell me Ben, what gave me away? Because you see, I know I'm a good actress, what tipped me off?" She asked almost curiously, because she had believed that her performance had been literally flawless. She only hoped for the truth, because boys like that didn't lie to ladies. And she found that oh so moronic and naive.
He was tense when she kissed him. She didn't mind. She didn't particularly care either. But he looked determined, not afraid, ready for whatever Lena herself was ready to dish out at him. So, he was not looking for perfection. "I guess there isn't such a thing my dear. However, aren't you the boy that tries oh so hard to be perfect yourself?" She asked, with a slight rise in her voice as if it was a question. She honestly did not believe it was a question. "Because, I have been observing tonight, and you my boy, try so so hard to be perfect. Ever the gentleman," She walked closer, running her fingers accross his cheek, "A laugh there," She said, moving her singers to brush his lips, "To perfect compliment here." She said, her fingers moving down to his neck, as her brown eyes gazed at him, then she removed her fingers. "But you try so so hard, yet the perfection is so unreal. You want it. The perfection in your self, but you know you can't hope it from other people." Her eyes looked harsh, emotionless as she said all this. A small smile playing around her lips.
Her eyes suddenly flashed. Merely because he had caught her out with something that she forbade herself to think about. A situation very similar to his own. But she refused. "You don't know anything about me. I've lived for over two hundred and fifty years. You don't know anything about my life, my feelings, not that you will get the chance to anyway." She said all this calmly, her voice really cold as steel. She wanted her tone of voice to cut him, so that he could feel the impact of what she can do through words alone, and maybe then run away. He was an idiot for sticking around so long in the first place. She was curious as to why his stance changed. He looked like he was up to something, and because she was not a mind reader, she could only try to expect what was to come next. She was quite observant like that.
His smile and 'I wonder..' caught her off guard a little, and in a flash he was right in front of her, his mouth on top of hers, and she was so shocked that she could only respond for a second. He kissed her hard, with passion, she was shocked when he bit her lip. This was becoming more and more peculiar, and Lena was not used to it. However, his kiss had felt quite good. Though she did not show it, because the moment he stepped away, a glare creased her smooth features. "Are you completely insane?" She asked, disbelief clouding her silky voice, "You know what I am. You're pissed off with me for lying to you, for being who I am, then you turn around and kiss me. What exactly is wrong with you?" She didn't sound hysterical, her voice was sharp, but her glare did not dissipate, because although she wouldn't admit it, the kiss had felt better than she thought it would, if only because he had taken control, and sometimes she liked that.

"Tell me Ben, what gave me away? Because you see, I know I'm a good actress, what tipped me off?"
"I'm not really sure actually." Ben admitted. In truth nothing gave her away, she was the perfect deceiver. It came so easily to her, no wonder she loved to torment guys. She based her actions on the other girl vampire, the sweetness. He learned to trust no vampire girls at all. But then he remembered what gave her away."ah, now I remember." Ben said "It was your eyes..since your acting gave nothing away I looked to a place that could. It was only a brief moment that I saw the coldness, but it was there..." He trailed off not knowing what to say next. He also saw pain as well, but he didn't mention it. He didn't want Helena to go on another rant about feelings.
"I guess there isn't such a thing my dear. However, aren't you the boy that tries oh so hard to be perfect yourself?"
Ben rolled his eyes when Helena said that. He didn't deny it, but it wasn't quite the whole truth either. Since he was a boy his mother raised him and his brother with good manners. Since his brother was the one always getting into trouble and not using his manners properly Ben had to work twice as hard. He had to do the chores his brother didn't do because he didn't want his brother to get punished. In return Charlie helped him out by sticking up for him when someone was picking on him for his gentlemen attitude. He said nothing to Helena because it looked as though she had more to say on the subject.
"Because, I have been observing tonight, and you my boy, try so so hard to be perfect. Ever the gentleman."
"I was raised to be like that,to everyone."Ben said dryly"And yes, I try my hard to be the perfect man I can be. Especially since I was turned, I want to hold onto whatever humanity I can." Ben was aggravated, what was it to her what he acted like especially if it was good. She was not held to any high expectations in her life. Ben was always the successful one, he needed to be the best of the best. That's why in high school he hardly socialized outside of school, girls would break up with him because he was so involved in his work. His brother was more of the ladies man, always bringing home different girls everynight.
A laugh there....To perfect compliment here."
Ben had to stop a shiver from running down his spine when she touched his face. When Helena touched him it felt like she was dragging fire onto his skin. It shocked him, but he kept his face smooth. He didn't even know what she had said to him. Something about him complimenting or something? He couldn't believe the affect she had on him already. It was unnerving, never in his life had he felt that experience. There were girls that made his heart speed up, but they never brought any fire to him. They had never brought the urges that Helena was giving him now. It was hard for him to grasp it, he wanted to experiment with it more. Though Ben had no clue how to do just that.
"But you try so so hard, yet the perfection is so unreal. You want it. The perfection in your self, but you know you can't hope it from other people."
Ben shrugged casually, it was a habit of his to always try and be perfect. He wasn't going to change it, though right now his gentleman side was gone, for now at least. This was a side of him that rarely ever came out. He kind of liked it though, he liked being edgy and sarcastic. Her words were suppose to hurt him, but it didnt have any affect on him. The part of him wanting to be perfect was right, but not the part of other people. He more wanted other people to try and strive to be the best they could be as well. He tried so hard to make his brother be like him. But as Helena just said, you can't hope it from other people. Though he didn't anymore, since his brother was dead.
"You don't know anything about me. I've lived for over two hundred and fifty years. You don't know anything about my life, my feelings, not that you will get the chance to anyway."
"Your right I don't know you and why can't I?" Ben asked frowning "Don't you ever get tired of hurting guys? Don't you want someone to be there for you, to love you?" He could imagine what his face looked like, handsome and devastating. He had never tried to charm a girl, or try to convince them to do anything he wanted using his looks. But now he was using everything he had for her to say yes. He knew she wouldnt say yes, but he could dream right? Damn right he could, and Ben was persistent to. He would not stop perusing Helena, he had the rest of his life to annoy the hell out of her.
"Are you completely insane? You know what I am. You're pissed off with me for lying to you, for being who I am, then you turn around and kiss me. What exactly is wrong with you?"
"Perhaps I am, but you and I both know you liked it. Your always the one in control, I figured how it would feel to you if it was the other way around." Ben said simply with a grin, he wanted to do it again. He wondered if he could, take her by surprise a second time. Ben would get a kick out of her yelling at him again, he thought it was cute."I was pissed, but I like you, more than I should actually. And I think deep down you like me to. I mean you have to, Im the first guy who likes you knowing who you really are."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i54.tinypic.com/2vafwqd.jpg), border: solid #ffffff 5px; width: 400px; height: 500px;] He wasn't sure. She rolled her eyes, a hard cold look. Maybe he was more of an idiot than she had thought of him. Probably, but then he corrected himself, looking at him almost curiously to know what not to do next time. Not that the other times anyone had caught her out, but it was safer to take precautions, not to ruin her fun, like he was doing right then. So it was her eyes. They were cold. She frowned. It seemed so trivial, such a small detail that others missed because they were looking at her body rather than her eyes. "Huh. Figures. The one time a guy looks to my eyes rather than my body, he catches me out. Must work on that." She said, with a small grin, clearly saying that even if Ben had caught her out, she wasn't to stop seducing men and taking advantage of their liking for gorgeous women.
Humanity. That is a word that Helena had forgotten the meaning of long ago. That's why she felt no guilt or remorse for using men, and then literally throwing them away. She didn't care. They could go and weep and be broken hearted, it was all in the name of entertainment for Lena, and she could care less about them. She let out a snort at hos stupid Ben was being. "That's the good part of being dead. You're not human anymore, so the same rules don't apply. You use your power for fun, and when you get bored, just find something better to do." Her words were edged with a double meaning. For one the boy was speechless. Her touch had more of an effect on him than she'd hoped, and that could all be used to her advantage. He was such a young and naive boy. Where is goodness ever gonna get him? In a situation, if a girl like Lena decided to beat him up, he would still probably just allow it, cause he was such a gentleman. He was pathetic. That was her opinion of him.
The guy was bugging her now. Did he ever stop? At this moment he looked as tragic as he was handsome as he told her that she should let someone love her. She looked him right in the eye as she said this. "Love. It is a weakness I am never letting into my life again. I don't need it. I need power to live, not love. It is useless to me, but you people are too blind to see that, that's why you get hurt all the time." She said, and it was true. If these idiots did not allow themselves to love, they wouldn't get hurt, wouldn't have to get angry and hate the world, rather love it and strive to be the biggest you can be. Feed on power, manipulation and anything else you can to make you bigger, stronger, feared by people. That's where Lena was at this time of her life, powerful, though she needed to work on that more and more to be the best. To be feared. And such a thing as love was a weakness that no person like Helena ever needed.
Helena literally glared at this boy. He was the strangest person she had ever met. And she has met so many strange people in her life. She literally laughed out loud at his words. Her musical laugh filling in the space they were breathing in, it was a genuine laugh, where the humour was evident. "With someone like me around, you will never be in control my dear." His stupidity never ceased to amaze her. "Sure I liked the kiss. Like I liked all the other kisses I had received before tonight," She said musingly, "Though some men do kiss better than you. More soft and caressing." She said, but although she would never admit this, she did like Ben's kiss. More than she should, and definitely more than she was saying. She frowned a little. A soft crease tainting her smooth features. He likes her. Well, that's no shocker, most men do like her, but he was right. He was the first knowing what a cold and heartless bitch that she was. Her smile was teasing, when she looked back at him. "So okay, hypothetically let's say I did like you." Which she was sure she didn't, she didn't particularly care, "Would would you do with a girl like me. I'm basically unfeeling. Sure I can act, but I never feel it. Wouldn't you rather have a person that has the capacity to love you back?" She asked, because it seemed like a plausible question to her, and Ben looked more and more idiotic.
