It was a beautiful day with the warn sunshine spilling out over the black asphalt road and tall, well kept buildings surrounding him along the way. The fine potted plants and trees that neatly lined the sidewalks were already budding with vibrant new life, drawing energy from the new year's Spring. From what he could see between the buildings, there were thick, dark, and angry looking clouds looming in the far distance, but everything within the immediate range of several miles was innocently blue and cloudless, so he didn't think much of it.
Samson sat on the curb of a street finishing off the remains of his lunch, some delicious, spicy barbecue chicken wings on a paper plate. The bones of the ones he cleaned up earlier sat nicely piled to the side of the rest of the chicken. The ruddy hued sauce thinly coated parts of his fingers further as he reached for another, lifting it to his mouth to skillfully pull off and savor each piece of the nutritious meat. He was just about done eating when a gust of wind kicked up, sending the only napkins he had flying across the street into the slow moving, oncoming traffic. He had attempted to reach for them as they fluttered up into the air, but he knew it was already too late, seeing his hands were full and it had happened so quickly. Knowing they were biodegradable, he argued with himself as he ate the last of the meat, making excuses that it would be ok if he didn't go chase and pin all, or any for that matter, of them down in the wind. Yep, it was futile. No sense wasting the energy, right? Riiiight?
Grabbing and cradling his plate full of moist bones, he stood up and headed for a garbage receptacle, which he awkwardly pushed open with his sleeved elbow since his hands were still covered in sauce, to throw it away. As soon as he dropped it in and turned around an older lady came around the block corner walking her miniature poodle across the street from him, whom gave him a dirty look. He did have spicy barbecue sauce smeared on his face and hands, and he was standing awkwardly at the garbage can when she noticed him, he must've looked creepy to her. Sam made an exaggeratedly goofy face and furrowed his brows with a grin afterwards, not really caring about the judgmental old fart and her hot pink leashed pom pom that scurried across the ground ahead of her. He took note that it appeared more regal than the owner, as if it was taking her out for a walk instead of the other way around. Sam laughed at this thought before turning to walk down the street to the pet store.
Yet another awkward moment, he grabbed the door handle between his wrists and pulled it open enough to quickly squeeze inside before the door shut on him. There was a rather attractive girl standing at the counter in the entrance, jotting something down on paper when he came in. She looked up and him with coy smile, and she seemed pleased to see a new customer at first, but then she pursed her lips together in a weird grin and raised her eyebrows, as if attempting to physically suppress the sudden change of thoughts that were coming out on her face, noticing his strange dirty hands and face. Sam took a few steps forward, looking rather nonchalant, his eyes wandering over the shelves of animal supplies and caged pets for display.
Soon he glanced back to her and she appeared quite fearful; the color of her face had become rather pale and her eyes were wide and unblinking. Suddenly she spoke up in a frantic voice, cowering behind the counter, but not enough to loose site of him, "No! Please don't kill me!" Sam had only enough time to turn to her with a raised brow, his lips puckering somewhat with a muddled frown before she started blurting out other things. "How did you find me!? Who told you?! They said they killed the vampires.. I can't do this anymore.. please don't kill me.. " She began to cry into her hands, her voice turned whiny like a sad puppy whimpering and her breaths were beginning to become ragged as she sank to the floor behind the counter, hiding. Sam was a bit dumbfounded, but he went along with it anyway, he did his best to sound reassuring, which stragely came naturally for him, "Well.. I ... hey.. it's okay. They did. They're gone." His voice softened and he came closer to her, close enough to peer over the counter. It must've been the stuff on his face and hands, like the old lady had reacted to. "Y'know this is just barbecue sauce. Someone told me you were scared of vampires so I came in here to pull a prank on you. I'm really sorry.. I didn't realize you would get so worked up so easily. ... Do you have a bathroom here? I need clean up." He pulled away from her immediate area, to give her a little space just in case she would get mad and try and swing at him or something, who knew what this lady could do if she invested that same emotional responce into anger.
She sat there for a moment before getting up and whiping her puffy, reddened face, in disbelief this was just a prank, but once she accepted it she felt relieved. It was better to be pranked than have the real thing. "Really...? Gosh.. you had me going. That's not very nice y'know. I guess you can use our facilities.. but only because you apologized. Down that aisle and then take a left, go through the double doors and you'll see a bathroom in the back." She pointed in the general direction, which Sam then went, avoiding touching anything on his way there.

AND YOUR HEART'S LIKE AN ENGINEI DIE WITH EVERY BEAT , - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - tagged for samson uziel fallows with zero words. Ugh, Helena hated everything about this stupid little town. The busy streets, the rich passers by, the weather and the buildings. Also, she hated that it was so light and sunny most of the time, would a bit of rain hurt anyone? No. She didn't think so. So, the question is, why the hell is she sticking around. Not even Helena herself knows the answer to that, but most aren't very happy that she's there, of course, all she wants is a little fun once in a while, a bit of power, but who doesn't want that? Lena's lips perked up a little, in a grimace of sorts to suggest that she is happy about the weather change. The dark clouds were visible to her vampire eyes as clear as they were right next to her, so she knew that something was brewing, and the good weather would not last as long as these poor suckers had hoped. Good, Lena would enjoy it, while also creating even more chaos. Now, that's what she called fun. Satisfied, she decided to find lunch.
The vampire mused, about how stupid humans actually were. Of course, there were myths and legends about the kind that walk the streets among them, yet they are to be believed completely fictional. She loved having that advantage over unsuspecting mortals, feed on their fear as well as their blood as she tortuously slowly tastes every single drop of blood within a body. The satisfaction as a body whithers down as her mouth greedily takes in what she needs, is lunch and dessert. Yet, humans were just so oblivious, being naive enough to believe that they are the only things in the world. How moronic. Even though Lena was the same when she was still a human, centuries ago, she now never considers herself ever have been human. That was just adding insult to injury, and she found mortals disgusting trash, that were there for her entertainment and to fill her stomach in just the perfect way she liked.
The wind was slightly stronger now, and Helena relished the sunlight for what last little bit it would be around, and started to embrace the darkness that would come with it. Her soft brown hair was ruffling as the wind ran its fingers through it. They could walk in the daylight, another moronic thing believed by the mortals that gave her advantage. If they believed that vampires could only come out at night, all the better for her really. Who was she to complain when she made sure she had the upper hand? There were crowds of people walking by, all hurrying to one place or another, feeling like they were stuck for time. Most of them would just go back to their loving families, kids and grannies, yet just a select person wouldn't see the time of day again, if Helena had anything to do with it, along with her aching throat as she craved for the one thing that could ever satisfy her.
Something was blowing towards her, in a fast speed, yet Lena was faster, so when it was near her face, she grabbed it. It was a piece of newspaper, just the front page, and the headline screamed at her. There had been another murder, a body found, and the image matched the moronic face of the teenage guy that was a little less than satisfying. She should be careful about her bodies, yet when their blood was as bitter as they guy's was, she didn't feel the need. That night she was sure he was taking drugs, and of course she could taste the bitterness in his blood, how disgusting, but he was more than willing to try and get it on with her. Of course, Helena herself was deception, because she looked just so innocent. Sweet, and completely not evil, which was quite the contrary to what she actually was. Cruel and uncaring. So, she just shrugged at the headline, and walked towards the bin that was situated by a shop. She looked through its window. It seemed like it was a pet shop.
Helena thought that the animals in the cages must feel horrid being in there, not enough space, with a for sale sign. How humiliating, and she made plans to do something similar with her food, when she can find the time of course. However, her chocolate eyes took in a lot more than that of the shop. There was a girl, just by the desk, and a smile rose on her face, which made it look even more beautiful. She smoothed down the green dress she was wearing, and walked towards the door. Lunch. She walked in very nonchalantly, with a smile at the girl she looked to the side, where a little rabbit was chewing on something, probably a carrot. She was surprised to see a lock on the door, but in all honesty, all the better for her as she turned it, making sure the girl who was on her phone, could not see her. That's when she walked towards the desk, "Excuse me, I need to buy a hamster for my little brother, his died last night, do you think you can help me?" Helena sent her a charming smile, reminding herself to blink more often, so that she looked human enough.
The girl smiled back, obviously not realizing something was not right. The moment that the girl bent down, to get a box from under her desk, Helena was on the other side, as the girls eyes widened in fear. Her fear obviously made her loose her ability of speech, and she was glad, but she could see that this one was a screamer, and she's better do it quick before she did actually start shouting and screaming. Helena took the girl by the arms, pushing her a little to the side, where they could no longer be seen thought he windows, the girl was struggling now, but Helena held a hand over her mouth to keep her from screaming. "You'd better pray you go to heaven after this, hell is not all it's cut out to be." She whispered with a malicious grin, before her fangs extended, the nerve endings aching for the need of what she could see was pumping the girls veins. The blood from the neck was always the nicest, that's when she bit the girl, and the pain that Lena inflicted on her swallowed her scream, as she slowly lost consciousness, but ti would still be a while until she died.

A quiet day, one with barely any drama and annoyance; just the way she liked it. The fairy silently walked down the street, blending among the crowd of humans perfectly. Emerald eyes ever watchful, the brunette weaved her way in among the throng of humans, careful not to step on any feet and create a huge ruckus; that was the last thing that she wanted. For humans to start let out a yell of pain, that would no doubt attract the even the slightest bit of attention. The fairy did not like attention, it disrupted her train of thought and it also forced her to speak, which was another thing she never liked doing. Why waste your breath talking when you could be doing something else?
It was safe to say that no humans were in danger today from her. She had received no calls from any clients, maybe the humans needed a break too. In a way, Rissa was glad for the break. It meant that she could relax a little, and not be constantly on the lookout for somebody to bloody kill. There was only a many amount of times one had blood on their hands, and although Rissa didn't exactly mind having the crimson liquid on her hands, it did get boring after a while. Every day, someone dies, killed by her hand, by either a knife or a sniper or any other way available to her. So it really was no surprise that the brunette was feeling, or rather trying to shut out the feeling of relief and relaxation. It was good to have a day off, but yet she had no doubts that her phone would be ringing again tomorrow. She was one of the most well-known assassins around; both human and mythical creature constantly looked out for her in the black market. Of course she had to watch her back at all times as well; she had enemies everywhere and her rotten family was out looking for her as well.
It irritated her to no end, really.
Letting out an irritated sigh, she wandered on along the street, passing by shops which she glanced into without interest. It was not in Rissa's nature to feel interested in anything other than take someone's life, but right now, as she glanced in through a window display showing jewels, she wondered what it would like to actually feel human. Would she feel remorse after every single death? She stared at herself through the glass; empty green eyes looked back at her piercingly. Tilting her head to one side curiously, Rissa poked at her reflection with a long finger, feeling the glass emit a soft thunk. How intriguing. Turning her face away, she wandered on, this time at a much more faster gait. She had no idea where she was going; might as well see where this city led her to. Come to think of it, she never had a chance to explore the place properly due to her job, might as well see what's around since she really had nothing else better to do at the moment. She wasn't in the mood to fly and zoom around, she wanted to use her own two feet for once.
A loud thunk on a glass at a particular store made her stop and stare at its source. It was Rissa's nature to be constantly on the alert, and any form of noise would make her tense immediately. Peering through the glass, she saw that there were kittens on the other side, gamboling around each other playfully and banging against the glass. She allowed herself a rare smile, the sight was just quite adorable. Settling her face back into its usual blank expression, the fairy made the decision to enter the shop, since once again, she had nothing else to do.
She was just in time to see a familiar face sink her fangs into the neck of a pretty girl behind the counter. Raising an eyebrow, Rissa quietly closed the door behind her and leaned against the glass. This was obviously not a new sight for her; Helena Black was always feeding and she never tired out of it. Resisting the impulse to roll her eyes, she waited until the vampire was done before she finally spoke, her voice quiet, similar to what you would hear on a snake.
"My, Helena." Her tone held a hint of wryness underneath its apathy. "You could have chosen something much more appetizing."

Passed through the flimsy barrier of double doors into the dim back room, he immediately noticed movement to the right, between the stocked shelves. It was something large and dark, that slowly shrank down into the corner, partially obscuring itself from his view, hiding. Even though he had already noticed the conveniently placed bathroom to his left, he chose to briskly walk in the direction of the unknown object. In doing so he started it.
The back door swung open so fast that its momentum caused it to slam hard against the building wall. Light spilled inside, revealing the figure. It was a man, one that seemed to be a few years older than himself, but shorter and thinner, with ragged black clothes covering most of his body and swirling, demented tattoos staining his neck, face and scarred hands. His shoulder length, stringy brown hair draped around his face, and his expression was cold and soulless, giving him a menacing appearance. He looked like he just broke out of jail and was desperate. He sneered at Soren, revealing sickly gums and chipped, yellow stained teeth. In his arms there were two squirming puppies, cradled awkwardly and smashed against his bony chest. The man sprang up and scrambled away with a guttural cackle into the outside parking lot. ".. H-HEY!", Soren barked, immediately pursuing him without hesitation. The man stumbled before breaking out into a slightly lopsided run, giving Soren an accidental advantage.
Chasing after him, he gained on him before the man even made it out of the parking lot; a solid fist launching to meet the back of his head. The slug landed and was enough to knock the guy off balance. Soren had heard of people stealing animals, but normally the ones that were stolen by people like these belonged to cults. He wasn't going to let that happen, and even if he was wrong, the guy was still a thief.
Soren reasoned; the guy wasn't going to be able to defend himself very well, considering he hand his arms full of pups, so he kept swinging without an ounce of caution. The guy toppled and chucked one the puppies, which gave a loud, hi-pitched yelp like all the air in its lungs had completely forced itself out all at once, and the other pup was squished underneath the man's sudden collapse of weight against the asphalt, which also gave a similarly loud cry. Nearly tripping over the body as it fell beneath him, he barely managed to not step on his face while in the process of catching himself from falling too. The man groaned and cursed at Soren loudly, his arm and face bloodied from the collision with the coarse, unforgiving ground. Standing over him, he punched him again, this time knocking him out with the force of the blow.
Soren hastily rolled the body over to get the weight off the smothered puppy, which was now whimpering loudly, blood trickling from its freshly broken hind leg. He sighed heavily as their eyes met. It tugged at his heart, looking up at him with those big, brown eyes that seem to express an intense blend of sadness, confusion and fear. That was all it took for Soren to decide that he personally would make sure this puppy received the proper care. Squatting down, he used the unconscious guy's shirt as his personal napkin, before carefully scooping the puppy up, cradling the furry bundle in his arms against his warm torso. It shifted uneasily against him at first, but then gave up and relaxed limply as he headed back inside.
As for the other puppy, it stood near some bushes, watching the whole thing. It yipped and scampered quickly after them, determined to not be left behind. Glancing down over his shoulder, he smirked. "Almost forgot about you... C'mon.. ", he said quietly, making his way inside, holding the door open just long enough for the puppy to bolt in anxiously. As it reached his feet it lowered itself significantly, its tail almost completely between its legs, but still furiously wagging. "Your okay.. ", he whispered, grinning faintly. He let the door close and then gently set the wounded pup on an empty counter, just long enough to place its sibling in an empty cage that was already equipped with food and water, before picking the injured puppy back up. "What's with today..?", he muttered to himself under his breath. If he didn't find trouble, it sure seemed to be attracted to him.
Now, in the small bathroom, he delicately flushed the wound with water before covering it with a clean towel, also taking this opportunity to scrub and rinse the blood off of his shirt and dried sauce from his hands and face. "I'll take care of you.. get you some help. I know you don't understand what I'm saying, but I don't care." He laughed at himself, amused that he was talking to an animal that had no idea what he was saying.
Smoothly pushing one of the double doors out of the way with his foot to avoid shuffling his arms, he passed through the store, stopping suddenly at the end of the aisle as he witnessed a female vampire leeching blood from the girl he scared earlier, not even realizing his older sister was in the room. He just stood there, quite surprised something like this had happened in the short amount of time he was away. The girl's fear had actually been legitimate, and now she was dying.
It hit him hard. A part of him was completely furious, because he liked the girl, but at the same time he knew it was too late. He stepped closer, but then stopped himself short as he considered the result of her fate. She was going to die. That route was better than the alternative; becoming a filthy, bloodsucking creature that was a slave to blood. Dying would ultimately end her torment once and for all, at least that's what he hoped for.
The young puppy sensed the thick tension in the room and curled tighter against him, shrinking down with a whine, its cold, wiggling nose pressing against the inside of his elbow. He clenched his teeth with a deep growl and turned sharply around, angrily slamming his first down on one of the shelves before he swung his arm through the items that orderly sat upon it, shooting several objects onto the ground with one swipe, some of which were unintentionally flung in the vampire's direction.
Soren stomped away and left out the back door, slamming it behind him. Passing the still unconscious guy, he paused to steal his wallet. "Thanks, asshole." Thunder boomed in the nearby distance, interrupting Soren, and loud enough to gently rattle the medium sized pet supply store. The temperature was dropping, the wind was becoming unruly, and an ominous bank of dark clouds were drifting in, shrouding the area from sunlight almost completely, bringing a heavy downpour of rain with it. Only minutes were left before it would hit. Soren knew he would need to find shelter soon if he was going to stay dry and warm, and keep the puppy from getting distressed further.

She loved the chaotic frenzy of the need for blood as she let her sense soar, but to be interrupted meant anger from her. Her heightened hearing picked up shuffles, bangs, voices, heart beats, yet she didn't want to pay any attention. At all. She liked the bittersweet oblivion of just losing herself int he sensation of the blood, she could feed forever she figured. It would never be enough, and there was no fun in killing someone without drinking their blood. She made her cold fingers rest on the nape of the girls neck, squeezing softly as the blood kept entering her mouth in slow, pleasurable gulps. This was a perk of being a vampire, just going around and getting blood whenever she felt like it with no remorse at all. Yes she was heartless, and yes she didn't feel bad about that one bit. She felt herself let out a little sigh as the girl lost consciousness, and then she was dead. Just like that she was limp in Lena;s arms, the feeling of anything dissipating from her body, and Helena herself felt a satisfaction.
She had always been a clean eater, two punctures with only a little blood leaking, no blood on herself ever. She wasn't savage, but she knew how to enjoy her food. She had been told time and time again not to play with her food, but that was impossible because all these people were just too fun to play with. She raised her honey coloured head from the smooth white neck, licking the puncture wounds before wiping her mouth with her hand. She smiled in the way she felt satisfied, and she dropped the girl, instantly forgetting her. She was not surprised to see another person there, after all she had heard her enter, but she only chose to pay attention to her after she had finished. She smiled at her words, she didn't particularly like the girl, but she felt the need for a tease anyway.
"Ah, but she just looked too sweet to pass by. And it was the perfect place, seeing as it was empty." She said, her senses kind of being drawn to another figure that was there. Her malicious brown eyes flicking to the boy with the dog who looked angry and a little dumbstruck. "Maybe not. Oh well, too late." She grinned, she could smell the little doggy in the boys arms before she could see it, and the stench made her nose wrinkle in disgust. Of course she had seen him before, he was the other fearie's brother, and she felt a smirk raise at the corners of her perfectly pouty lips. She didn't really know his name, she didn't particularly care either. The boy only surprised her a fraction when he became angry.
She had had anger directed at her many many times, yet she was never bothered. It never mattered, and this instance was no different even when the guy lashed out and smacked the things on the shelves, some of them skittering towards Lena. Then he turned around, and Lena didn't say anything. When he was throught he door, she followed him with her vampire speed and made sure she was in front of him, pushing him back towards the door well aware that she had left Rissa standding in there. If she wanted to, she would follow, but at the moment she had this boy to deal with. She paid no attention to the little doggy in his arms, as she smiled cruelly. "Care to explain?" She asked, raising her eye brow in question, not that she cared really, it was just fun to be in control, to have power. Yet, she was aware that his sister was right inside, and she didn't know what exactly their relationship was, but she hoped that this didn't end up being a two on one.
